Toraika

Toraika

D-rank
Toraika had not rested in what felt like months though it had not been more than a few weeks in reality. She had been through more than any normal person could endure in the passing days that turned to weeks and wanted nothing more than to get back home. She missed her Mother and she missed her village. Every little thing about it. Her schedule she stuck to every day of her life since she had graduated from the Academy was in shambles but something inside her had changed since she had been assigned to battle in Kiri. She felt that schedules were temporary and unneeded. One can not predict the future whether it be a minute away, to an hour, to a day, to a week, to a year, to even a lifetime. There is no way to create a schedule of your life as a shinobi being as it is just clearly impossible. You never know what is awaiting around the corner in your life. She missed her schedule and her village none the less. She missed waking up to making breakfast for her mother, going to check if she had any missions, then if she didn't, she would go and lend whatever hand she could to the hospital. Her Medical techniques being plenty proficient in their aid. She spent her day there then would admire the glass statue of Gaara in the museum.

As Toraika opened her eyes she drifted out of her daydreams. This whole time she had been walking slowly through Kiri. Back from her hidden post all the way to the outer edges and to the shoreline. The ferry would be there if she had times things correctly. There was doubt running through her on if she should stay or not but she knew what her body mind and soul were telling her to do. She needed to go home, it wasn't just something she wanted to do, it was something she needed. She had the worst type of home sickness, it was the kind that your face couldn't show, but the kind that are you up from the inside out. Of course she was a shinobi that had to learn to let go, but it didn't mean she wanted to. She just couldn't. The whole time she walked to the ferry that would take her from the empty streets of Kiri that had been stained with the blood of war, she was imagining how beautiful the village must be at a normal day. The children running through the streets and the happy open markets with fresh fruit. Just like Suna had. One thing she knew she didn't want to leave was a boy she had fallen in love with in this village. It was his home and he was a member of the swordsman, in charge of the defense of his village. She had given him everything she had and more but since he left on a mission to battle Seven Bells, she had not heard from him in weeks. She was a patient girl though and she had faith he would return. He wasn't weak after all.

As Toraika saw the shoreline ahead, the ferry approached coming in slowly to take her away. She ran the rest of the way there without looking back. Now she boarded the ferry flashing the man her ticket she had bought days ago. She went to the back of the ferry and leaned over the rail that faced the direction of her home. The ferry began to take off and slowly turn around making her now face the village if Kiri. Not much could be seen of the village itself, mainly because of the mist that surrounded the island. But her eyes now fills with tears making it hard to see anything at all. She didn't cry very often. As small and petite and innocent as she may seem she was extremely tough. And it took a lot to make a tear come to her eyes. Now, she didn't even know why she was crying at all. If it was the pain of watching so many people die, the joy of being able to save so many lives while she was there, or just the emptiness of leaving it all behind she wasn't sure. All she knew was that being in that village for this war that still raged, changed her. In more ways than one.
