Kurama

Kurama

D-rank
The Dream~

Kurama ran, and ran and ran down teh busy streets of Kirigakure. He passed the many people who roamed the busy streets in search of produce or meant and the like. As he rushed by them they were a blur. Kurama was breathing hard, harder than he had ever breathed before but he wasn't getting enough air still. It felt as though he could breathe in all of the air in the world and still need more. Suddenly all of the people he was running past turned gray, but everything else stayed the same color. In front of him there was a single girl in red. Kurama realized the reason he was running. He was running to her. No matter how hared he willed his legs to take him, he made no forward progress. Everyone around Kurama vanished, and all of the buildings melted away into blackness. It was just the girl in red and Kurama. He kept running after her but she never got any closer.

~The Mission~

Kurama awoke with a start. Three loud knocks echoed through his house. He wiped his eyes sleepily and put on his slippers. He turned to look out the window to see what time it was, it was still dark outside. Kurama sighed at the fact that he decided not to put a clock in his room. As he trudged down the stairs to the kitchen he made himself a mental not to get a clock so he wouldn't have to guess what time it was just from the sky outside alone. As he made his way into the kitchen to get something out of the fridge he noticed a note attatched to the door, it read: "Ku-chan, We've left for a mission and wont be home for a while, litsen to what your sister tells you. There is food in the fridge if you get hungry. DONT EAT ALL OF THE ICE-CREAM AGAIN! - Love Mom & Dad" Kurama scoffed as he read the last part of the note, but the last part was warranted because he had eaten two tubs of vanilla ice-cream in three days. Granted it was his favorite thing in nearly the whole wide world, but he obviously had a problem that required...professional help.

Kurama opened the fridge and retrieved the milk which he set on the island that was in the center of the kitche. He then got a spoon, bowl, some cocoa puffs and poured them into said bowl and then splashed some milk on top of the puffy brown spheres of deliciousness. Kurama dipped his spoon to scoop up some of the floating balls of chocolate love. As the spoon was nearing his mouth he noticed an envelope sitting in front of the door, which had obviously been slipped under the door. I knew it. I guess I wasn't dreaming that I was given a mission this morning. He thought to himself sleepily as he shoved the bite of cereal into his mouth and chewed it thoroughly. Now that Kurama was a Chuunin, he would finally be given missions that were worth his time. The last mission that Kurama had been given was a B-Rank one that he had taken together with Kiri's resident genius: Yuzu Ren. They had been tasked with wipng out a band of smugglers that were hurting the aestetics of Kirigakure. Kurama finished his bowl of ceral and washed his bowl in the sink before making his way over to the envelope that was laying on the ground in front of the door.

The envelope sat slightly off of the mat which was in front of the door causing the flow of the room to be slightly off. The stark white envelope with Kurama's name written on the front in black caligraphy contrasted heavily against the dark brown mat on which it sat. Kurama bent down and retrieved the envelope, his red hair hanging like a veil over his eyes for a brief moment. He opened the envelope carefully as not to rip any important words that pertained to his mission. The sound of paper rustling echoed through the empty house. The letter read: "Kurama, there is another group of smugglers who think that can do whatever they want and not suffer the consequences. Teach them a lesson they wont soon forget. Our intel tells us their ships are located on the southeastern most dock. We dont know what they are smuggling, however we know that it cannot be good. Good Luck."

Kurama smiled to himself. He was going on another killing spree today. Oddly enough, Kurama enjoyed killing wrong doers. When he was in the academy the thought of taking someone's life scared Kurama. However that changed quickly when he was put into a situation in which it was either kill or lose someone precious to you. From that moment on Kurama had no problem with resolving himself to taking someone elses life. Kurama enjoyed the feeling of warm blood running down his hands from his blade. He liked watching the life go out of his enemy's eyes, the feeling as they struggle for their last breath on his sword. The feeling of their heartbeat shuddering through his sword, it was intoxicating. Kurama looked down at his sword, and then lit the letter in his hand on fire, erasing any proof of it ever having existing. Kurama opened the door into the dark of the early morning.

The streets that were normally full of people running to and fro collecting supplies for meals and whatnot were completely deserted. Kurama walked silently through the night, his black cloak shrouding him in darkness. As the killing would soon begin Kurama's black hood was up, signaling that he was serious. Kurama neared the dock where the smugglers where undertaking their shady business. There were only two of them this time, and it didn't appear that they were of the same group that he and Ren took down a couple of weeks ago. The two smugglers where carrying large boxes of unknown materials onto the large ship that was about 20m away. Kurama crept behind a large stack of crates which was off to the right side of the ship, waiting, listening for a chance to strike. "Hey go get that big box that says 'Caution' on it" one of the smugglers called from the boat, there was a grumbling sound of compliance from the other man. Kurama looked around for a box with caution on it, his eyes darted from left to right quickly. Kurama's eyes would look above his head and see in red paint the word "Caution" on it. Kurama's muscles tensed, ready for the idiot to walk right to him. The foot steps got nearer and nearer and Kurama readied a kunai. The man picked up the box that Kurama was hiding behind. The man stared at Kurama and Kurama stared back. Kurama smiled devilishly at the man and launched a kunai straight for his eye. Since the man's hands were holding the box, he could not react quickly enough, causing the kunai to hit its mark. The man screamed and screamed, his bloodcurdling cries pierced the silence of the night. The man who was on the boat emerged to investigate the commotion only to see Kurama spin around the man with the kunai in his eye, draw his sword and stab it through his neck. The man's screams were cut off by a gut wrenching choking noise followed by a gurgle and then silence. Thick warm blood splattered onto his face and ran down Kurama's sword onto his hands. The smuggler who was on the boat charged at Kurama. Kurama smiled and jerked his sword free from the neck of the first smuggler, who fell to the ground wit a thump. The second smuggler drew his sword when he was about 10m away from Kurama. Kurama charged at the man. The two met in the middle, their swords clanging together like a bell. Kurama tried an upward slash but the man parried it skillfully. Kurama then tried a spinning downward slash but the man countered it and cut his side. The man tried an upward slash but Kurama countered it and cut his arm. Two two were evenly matched in swordsmanship. Kurama smiled, he was enjoying having a worthy opponent. Noticing this, the man jumped backward 5m and made the tiger seal and began to inhale. Noticing this, Kurama did the same. The two released their Katon: Gokakyuu no jutsu at the same time, causing them to clash in the middle. However, Kurama's fire ball swallowed the man's and in turn swallowed the man. Kurama rushed over and stabbed him in the throat aswell. The man dropped to the ground dead. Kurama smiled as he sheathed his sword and made his way back to HQ to give the full report.
