Convoy - Seven Bells B - A Rank Plot Mission ( Gin ) Advent10
…and they say you’re a quick learner… riiiiight…

”Convoy””:

It felt as if weeks had passed in the village hidden in the mist. Yet, no more than a day had passed since the failing sun smiled upon Oomi and her makeshift squads successful destruction of one of Seven Bells Arbalest Artillery encampments. Even a day later the girl was running on excess adrenaline that she had no idea what to do with. The gaggle of shinobi that had come to aid she and her squad after they’d taken the position stole the joy and thrill from the area making quick work of the stragglers she’d hoped to destroy herself. Where did this leave, Oomi? Why on the hunt for rare and valuable lives to quash. Her first mission had given her a taste for blood so to speak. Ironic that the value she sought was the rushing blood through her own veins – the sensation of adrenaline pumping at a zillion kilowatts per mile, was what she was after. ( It didn’t make sense, and it didn’t really need to. ) She loved this feeling, this fleeting thing that dared escape her at any moment.

“Tch.” The young woman sucked her teeth in disgust with her current predicament. How was it that a war was being waged all about the village and yet… “Stupid Kiri… stupid strong shinobi…. Leave some for Oomi, that’s all I ask…” Oomi whined as she folded her arms across her chest, a gentle pout overcoming her features as though there might be someone to witness it. Her right foot rose to play against the back of her left shin, something was bothering her there and it needed to be dealt with immediately! Thusly, there was a soft pat that dared give away her position for having given into frustration. Beneath her a convoy belonging to Seven Bells’ errant army, and more specifically to Io – not that she knew that. Once again, rather than going through the proper channels Oomi had merely arrived on the scene with intention to deal a blow to an enemy she knew absolutely nothing about. “I should just go down there and whallop’em all.” Oomi spat angrily. Though she’d not move. She might have portrayed herself as the most confident person in the universe, but even she knew her limits – and that limit was a convoy of seven guarded by three shinobi each. One on one? She’d fight ‘till her dying breath. Yet, what fun would it be if they all ganged up on her? She’d be dead before she landed a punch.

A heavy and sorrowful wind tugged at her chocolate locks, playfully tossing her haphazard bangs about her eyes and obscuring her line of sight. Oomi responded with an equally heavy and morbid grunt as she brushed her tresses away. The ninja below had clearly not noticed her yet, but this was not for any lacking in their skill. The men seemed incredibly busy loading the convoy with materials. She dared not take her eyes from them for a moment, fearful that she might be caught prematurely and wondering quite vehemently what and why they were loading with such vigor. A second softer sigh followed as Oomi sat down – her seat the false solidity that her unique chakra and jutsu had allotted her. Perched high above the convoy below, Oomi sat watching like some kind of strange peeping tom or dragon, she thought to herself. A momentary distraction as the gathering of intel lost its appeal to her. The idea of forgoing caution and dealing with this convoy of obviously important supplies crossed her mind. Those shinobi down there were at least Chuunin. ( She was wrong, of course ). That meant that a mission like this would look pretty damned good on her resume. Ironic that it actually would. What Genin could say they’d gone on a B Rank mission alone and survived? None that’s who. Not that Oomi actually knew this was a B rank mission.

Perhaps fate had something in store for this girl, things did always seem to work out in her favor. The thought flittered across her mind yet was replaced by the idea of luck altering jutsu.

Just minutes ago she’d been leaping from building to building, circling the forces of Io, albeit quite a ways back. So far so that there was little to be seen but the tops of other buildings much closer and far less safe. At some point she’d decided to hell with safety and security, she needed action and excitement! … and so she’d used Wind Release: Stream after a stout jump enhanced by Entropy Style: Entropy Distortion. The combination sent her easily 40 or so meters into the air where she promptly activated her technique Heavenly Steps. She’d managed to remain relatively quiet the entirety of her time here gathering information on this particular section of the enemy’s defenses. They’d not thought to simply look up. Had they done so, they might have noticed her fairly easily. Yet, searching the area was not their concern as she’d soon find out. Like race cars the convoy was off, barreling through the village at breakneck speeds. This wasn’t a convoy meant to deliver supplies to the lines – no these men were escaping with something. Hope danced its way into the girls mind, a false hope that shouldn’t have come about in the first place. What reason would she have to think that perhaps the Mizukage might be found within one of those armored carriages? She didn’t need one… Reflexes kicked in and the girl was off like a lightning bolt, a single leap, a drop, a step granted her by the heavens, and a second drop would cost her precious time but this girl was quick on her feet. What she lost wouldn’t be recovered but she’d be within just 15 meters of them for the time being. Already a plan was forming in her mind, those carriages needed to be stopped… and yet she couldn’t hope to do battle with that many of the enemy on her own… she’d need a little more luck.

Gin

Gin

Retired
The relative silence was a blessing. It seemed like this particular part of the Village Hidden in the Mist had been evacuated, and with good reason. The houses were either worn down or partially destroyed, signaling that a recent battle had taken place in this particular area. The streets were empty, save for the debris and litter that covered the road. It was the middle of the day, the sun shining bright in the clear blue sky, which was a rare site for the usually humid Hidden Mist. It was not the best of times for a mission that involved scouting and subsequently destroying the cargo that was being transported to Io. But to the army of the Seven Bells, the time of day hardly mattered when they had already taken over this entire sector of the village.

Gin had been hunting down the aforementioned cargo for some time now. She had been looking around, following the clues she had gathered and then silently scouting the houses and the contents in them. They had been made into makeshift warehouses, as far as she could tell. But the improvised shelves and boxes were empty, signaling that the cargo was on its way to being delivered to its final destination. In other words, the former Kazekage had no time to lose. She had already forgone her initial purpose to scout and destroy the materials inside the warehouses themselves - quick, simple and... Well, boring. Her initial plan didn't involve her getting into any direct conflict so that she could save her energy for fighting Io himself like she planned. She would have to spend some of her energy here and now...

Well, truth be told, it could not be helped. The shipment needed to be stopped somehow. That was why the young woman was currently following the trail left behind on the half dirt half pavement road. She could see the tracks from each of the carts, faint footsteps from the shinobi guarding them and the marks of hooves left behind by the horses that pulled the cargo. She knew that she was on the right path. Now she just had to decide how she would engage the enemy. Stealth would provide a good advantage, maybe letting her place seals on the ground that would set the carts on fire as they passed on top of them. She would have to take another street, parallel to the one she was on now, so that she could get ahead of them unnoticed. Then again, that was too much trouble for a mission in which she was both allowed and encouraged to use everything she had at her disposal. Devilbringer was attached to the stump on her left arm and Soul Cutter was strapped to her side. She could summon her swords at any time as well. But she needed to block their path somehow... The former Kazekage smirked as an idea came to mind.

Gin switched roads and ran as quickly as she could, catching up to the caravan and now running beside it. She drew Jishin, summoning the oversized hammer that could manipulate the earth, tear it open and create mountains on a whim. But she wouldn't use that ability just yet. Instead, she augmented her strength, the familiar tension in her muscles indicating that there was chakra running through her arms, making her physically stronger. With both Devilbringer and that jutsu on her, few people could match the sheer force behind the blows of her katana. With that done, the former Kazekage grinned devilishly. This... This was bound to be fun.

Gin headed to the front of the convoy, still on the street beside her. She heard a sudden crash. For a brief moment, she assumed that she had been spotted, but as no one approached, she took the momentary distraction as the opportunity she needed. With a heavy blow, she hit the side of a building, sending debris falling in front of the first cart, forming a two meter barrier that blocked the path. Hurrying past the seven carts, she took advantage of the confusion once again to block the last cart in the same way.

The young woman leaped over the debris. As she was still in the air, she willed Devilbringer to project itself forward. With her augmented strength, Gin punched through the last cart in the convoy, destroying it swiftly and sending partially damaged supplies falling all over the place. Of course, the shinobi were now drawn towards her - but their attention was divided. Gin Kuroka wasn't the only one there. She gripped the hilt of her brutish hammer tighter. The girl couldn't have been older than fifteen. Dammit all, she was supposed to do this alone!

But she couldn't ignore the ten shinobi that were bound to overwhelm her while Gin arguably handled the other eleven. Rushing to the girl's side, she now stood alongside her, back to back as all 21 of the convoy's guardsmen crowded around them. "Hey kid," she began, sounding nonchalant as always, maybe even bordering on cocky. Fights and challenges tended to do that to the older woman. "I don't really know who you are, but feel free to call me Shinobu. We're obviously outnumbered, so we might as well work together to get out of this alive. I'll try keeping these fuckers off your back while you go and get as many supplies as you can out of those carts. They're all packed into sealed scrolls, judging by what came out of that cart over there. Think you can do that?" She asked in a whisper to keep her improvised plan between the two of them. She gripped Jishin in her left hand while her right drew Soul Cutter from its seal. She could see the eyes of some of the men widen in fear and recognition while she only smirked beneath the bandages that covered her face. Bring on the challenge.

Convoy - Seven Bells B - A Rank Plot Mission ( Gin ) Advent10
…oooh, got a plan do ya?

For quite a distance Oomi had managed to keep pace with the carriages, yet even with her abilities maximizing her speed by 25% she was beginning to fall behind. “Tch.” The girl sucked her teeth as she came down upon the next roof of many with a rather loud thud – one that was far too loud. Upon realizing this she dropped down and crawled across the rooftop as though she were some curious salamander. It was by sheer luck that she’d not been seen, but she had been heard. A few had looked in her direction, but they’d not have time to notice her as suddenly the building at the front of the convoy came tumbling down in front of them. There was a moment of panic, albeit brief – these were shinobi that were skilled in their crafts and would not be so easily deterred!

Whilst the investigation of the two meter wide barrier began, Oomi leapt to her feet in excitement. This of course got her noticed, a mistake that she’d immediately regret. Already kunai were soaring through the air toward her position. Ironically the woman whom had caused her excitement would be the one to save her, unintentionally. The second strike that she’d delivered to this building so close to the final car sent debris tumbling down behind the carriage, and Oomi went tumbling with it. Superior reflexes were all that lie between she and a quick death beneath the rubble, yet it was enough. Well, almost enough… She’d had to flood her body with entropic chakra and produce far more energy from those lean muscles of hers. The result had been a 50% increase to her speed. The combination of her reflexes and increased speed allowed the girl to more or less surf the destruction down to the ground, thus moving her from the path of the kunai. That’s not to say she didn’t collect a few scrapes and bruises along the way, but they were nothing to worry about – not that she felt them at all, anyway.

Even as Oomi came down to join the strange kunoichi that had caused so much destruction so quickly, the woman was already laying waste to the last carriage. The thing seemingly exploded as she tore through it like a fish through water, sending sealing scrolls and the like flying in all directions. The technique she used was awe inspiring, but perhaps only so much so for Oomi’s lack of experience. It was probably as simple a thing as an Academy Jutsu to this obviously strong woman. A wide grin slipped across Oomi’s lips as the kunoichi returned to her side and prepared for the coming battle. About them 21 shinobi had gathered. A number the younger of the two could never have hoped to defeat alone. Hell, even with the aid of… who the hell is this woman – almost as if the woman had read her mind, a quick introduction was given. Her name was Shinobu. “Oomi.” She said just before leaning ever so slightly so that Shinobu could better hear her. “By the way, that move you did… totes awesome as hell.” The girl was whispering but still her tone denoted how overly excited she was. “I mean you were like… bam… whooooom….and then the thing was like bachoooooom. It was really amazing.” She continued, as she waved her hands about to mimic various sizes of explosions. “Got it, smash the scrolls.” Oomi said with a vehement fist pump. “Oomi powers activate!” She exclaimed as ration infused chakra began to run down her arms and into her finger tips. If she hoped to make it to the carriages, she’d first need to clear a path. Which was going to be far harder than she realized.

Zzzt! Zzzt! Zzzt! Zzzt! Four shots at the closet three shinobi, those that were guarding the sixth member of the convoy. The closest of those three was given two of the shots while the other two were shots meant to merely get his companions moving. Which they did, each leaping from the path of the electric bullets which had been fired upon them. The first of them, the one which had been fired upon twice, stood his ground however. What need was there to fear this little girl? He’d made short work of her before joining his companions to overwhelm the monster of a woman that was worthy of their fearful faces. The first shot fired was blocked by the metallic tip of his spear, the second was simply side stepped as though it were nothing. “Hmph.” Oomi grunted as she pushed from the throne of debris she’d been standing upon with Shinobu. It probably wasn’t part of the plan for her to go head first at three B Rank shinobi, but she couldn’t help it. The bastard had made her attacks more than useless, and she wasn’t going to let that slide. The boost to her speed came as a surprise to the spear wielding shinobi who doubled back to regain a bit of distance when the girl came darting at him.

The spearman’s face twisted into a crooked grin. This girl was certainly foolish to come charging at him whilst his spear was so obviously at the ready. A second passed and the girl was already in range of the simple thrust he performed in that instant. Yet, the girl proved more skillful than he’d expected. She deftly folded her body forward, ducking beneath the strike whilst simultaneously stepping to the right. This would free her of the possibility of a second thrust coming quicker than she could react. She’d not escape unscathed, however. Though she’d been able to nearly match the enemies speed, it had only been his cockiness that rescued her from the blow, and as such a long gash ran along Oomi’s left cheek indicating how narrowly she’d escaped death. Now within the reach of his spear she was free to close the distance between them a deliver a – kunai? The thing narrowly missed her face, slicing along her nose. The shinobi responsible yet another of the 3 guarding the last carriage. His face twisted with disgust for having missed. The attack had done its job, regardless still. The third of the group was now darting toward his comrades, from the left opposite the 2nd shinobi, hoping to intercept Oomi before she could find her mark. He’d go unnoticed for a few precious seconds that allowed him to close the distance rather quickly.

Already the girl was making a mess of things and this was only involving three of the 21. Yet, still she did have a plan! Kind of… She was fast, but they.. unfortunately were faster. She’d not get to impress this obvious warrior woman. Nope, these guys were entirely too much for her to handle straight up. She’d need to do something a bit more impressive. The spear came sliding across the air as though it were a ceiling fan, the blade would not find purchase in her flesh but the shaft of the weapon would certainly do substantial damage to her ribcage. The shinobi which had thrown the kunai was but a few steps from her as the spear tore through … a flickering after image that quickly dissipated into a cloud of smoke.

There was a momentary pause… Sure, it was a typical tactic, childsplay to any of these ninja but they’d not expected it. They’d been certain that she’d run directly to her doom. In those few seconds that they stood there in confusion others grew ever closer and our fearless heroine finally revealed her location. Where? Back at Shinobu’s side of course, or as close to such as she could be if the woman had moved. Oomi had cleverly replaced herself with one of the less lethal sealed scrolls that now littered the area. “Sooo, that was a bad plan. Don’t worry though, I’ve got a new one though!” Oomi chimed happily as though she were oblivious to the danger all around her. She couldn’t have been more alert. Granted she wasn’t the most observant, the girl was a rookie on a mission far beyond her league after all. “Just gonna need a second…” The young Adechi drew in a deep breath as she took a fairly useless defensive stance – she’d merely drawn her arms close to her body and ducked her head low. At best she’d be able to block a few shots to the body or head… but… “Oh… and you might want to get back… don’t know how this is going to work.. just..” She sighed heavily. “Don’t worry ‘bout it. Wont feel a thing… say uh.. 15 meters… just gonna…” She was clearly preparing to do something that took quite a bit of concentration. “…you’ll see.”

…meet Adechi Oomi ruiner of plans.
