Skye

Skye

Skye had been sitting peacefully along the edge of the Battle Plateau for a good hour or so.  He wasn’t there to train or anything, though he did feel a slight urge to spar someone at his rank. It had been a good month or so since he had a legitimate fight. Having to train his Genin was a fun and all, but not as challenging as fighting someone his own rank. When sparring, he would always go after them with the intention of causing harm. Having a lack of this is probably what had put him in a quiet and thoughtful mood. Leaning back slightly, he took a deep breath. The weather was pretty good considering the past few days had been overcast or completely cloudy. Guess that’s what you get when you live in Kumo. The change of scenery was definitely nice though.

A slight breeze rushed past him as he stared out into the distance. His mind started to wander and remind him of Suna. Chuckling slightly, he remembered a funny memory from a few years ago. It was a only a few days after him and his clan were accepted into Kumo’s village. He had been walking around Kumo and was attempting to get the village’s layout down when all of the sudden, rain had begun to pour down and scare him. Having been secluded in Suna for so many years, he had never experienced the sensation of rain. He rushed into the nearest building and met a good friend of his there. With a simple sigh, Skye grinned and decided to head back home. Standing up, he brushed himself off and turned to see another person right behind him. It would have only taken him a few seconds to realize who it was before he responded. “Miss Raikage! Sorry, I-I didn’t see you there…” With a slight bow of his head, he slowly brought his head back up and nervously grinned.

Reika was....bored. Surprise, surprise. It was sort of a funny thing...despite being the busiest woman in Kumogakure no Sato, there was never anything exciting she could take part in. So, she decided to sightsee....there was nothing more beautiful than the peaks and clouds of Lightning Country. Frankly, she didn't think they would ever get old. On the high plateau that served as the village's center point, she simply stood sideways for a small while before scaling it. Not a difficult feat for any ninja, much less herself. Quite simply, seeing someone sitting down, she hopped up on the plateau's surface, juuuust behind their blind spot, and inched right behind them. When they---now a he---got up: “Miss Raikage! Sorry, I-I didn’t see you there…”

Putting an elbow in a hand in a quizzical, contemplative expression, she rubbed her chin and tapped her temple to summon the name from her memory. "Purpleface....Nekito! You must be, uh....Skye, yes? No problems at all. Whatcha been up to?"

She leaned back and forth, rocking herself on her feet as she simply waited for a reply.

“Pur-Purpleface…?” Skye tilted his head at the word. It seemed to catch him off guard some as he tried to think of why she said “Purpleface”. He could only have guessed she was referring to his facepaint, so he shook his head and let the term slide. Bringing his attention back on the Raikage, he was somewhat unsure why someone as important as the Raikage was poking around the plateau he was on. “Uh… Yeah… I’m Skye.” Reika linked her entire thought into one straight comment, so Skye was having a slight bit of trouble catching up with what she said. “What’ve I been up to…? Well… I can’t say I’ve been doing too much lately Miss Raikage. With Chuunin Exams closing in, I guess I’m taking a bit of a breather from training with my students. They seem to be ready for what awaits them…” Having been doing a large amount of last minute training with his students, he had a slight thought pecking in his mind that he wanted to ask, but kept it suppressed due to its nature.

Taking a few seconds to pause, he took a quick glance around before bringing his gaze back on Reika. “Um… If you don’t mind me asking… What are you doing up here?” His voice was a little less nervous now, but he did seem a little uptight when in the Raikage’s presence.

So, she was right....Skye Nekito. She hadn't known him for very long....he was someone she never really took notice in. But here he was. He had a team, he was a Jounin, surely now he was certainly worthy of note?

"Oh, y'know, just out and goofin' off." She stood on one foot and tapped the ground with the tip of her left foot, inadvertently sending some cracks through the ground. "Well....I'm bored. Anything interesting going on lately in Kumo? I'm afraid....well, in all the governing stuff, I don't get out much, ehehe..."

She sighed somewhat awkwardly, wondering what she was supposed to do at this point. She was usually talkative, but....this relationship was pretty much strict professionalism.

"Wouldn't say too much is going on here... Kumo's gotten quiet while most of the Genin and some of their teachers are in Suna..." There was no doubt Reika knew about this. Being the Raikage must've had it's perks on information. Hell, she probably had a list off all absent and travelling Kumo ninja. Watching as Reika sighed, he could hear a slight uneasy tone in it. It was definitely an awkward moment. Leaning back and pushing himself to his feet, he turned to face the Raikage and grinned to ease the tension in the conversation. "I couldn't imagine handling all that paperwork and 'governing' stuff. I guess it's a good thing to get out once and a while..."

As much as Skye wanted to continue the conversation with Reika, his mind quickly shifted to more of what he was going to do later. Two thoughts of his collided and immediately became a rather interesting sentence. "You know, I was actually thinking about training a bit. If you'd like I can turn it into a spar." The words seemed to flow out without thought put into them. Fighting the Raikage?! Why the hell would he say something like that?! Not only did he think it was rude, but if she actually went for the idea, Skye would be in a world of hurt. His expression immediately turned into one of disbelief. Still knowing that he was in the Raikage's presence, he put on a fake smile and crossed his fingers behind his back.
