Clan History: The Itohane clan is a lesser known group that is present in three of the five great nations, with only Kaminari no Kuni and Kaze no Kuni barren of them. They aren't usually recognized as a clan, as their kekkei genkai is rarely used and their passive abilities have no visible effects on them. Those that do know of them respect them enough; their beginnings are humble, with their clan leader a ninja of Iwagakure that had an innate skill to use sudden bursts of chakra to change forms and become stronger for a temporary duration. He only used this ability twice in his life, for in this form, he was a grotesque monster and was hideous. This passed in his genes, but he decided to leave his kekkei genkai a secret. For many generations, it wasn't used, until it was rediscovered by the most recent clan leader. After word of it was spread amongst the clan, the leader died of heart disease, and Itohane became detached, spreading apart from one another and moving across the nations.

Kekkei Genkai Description: Itohane clansmen are more resilient to the effects of the chakra within themselves, along with much more of it than the average ninja. They can use an extremely large burst of their own chakra to make their fighting capability more efficient temporarily, giving them short power boosts in their focus skills usable every so often without exhausting themselves. To compliment this ability, they spend most of their earlier years as ninja with only one chakra nature and one specialization to make the most out of this kekkei genkai.

Members of the clan start with twenty-five more chakra, and they make take one positive special characteristic without a negative one to balance it, but any other positives they have will still need balances and they are still limited to a maximum of three, including the unbalanced one.

Drawbacks: Members of the Itohane only start with one specialization and one elemental release. Their tertiaries cannot be learned until Jounin, and their quaternaries cannot be learned until Sannin, and thus they cannot take the Trained, Elementalist, Hesitant (Specialization) or Hesitant (Element) special characteristics. They cannot learn Katon, Raiton, or Senjutsu due to incompatibility between the two natures/sage chakra and their kekkei genkai, and in addition, all Katon techniques used against them have +1 rank in power. They also move slower, having -1 rank of speed (i.e. Jounin will move at the speed of Sp. Jounin, etc.)
