Clan:Sharamoi

Kekkei Genkai:Student of History

Elements:N/A

Specialization:N/A

Location:Scattered

Clan History:An officially unaligned clan, the Sharamoi clan are characterized by a powerful thirst and aptitude for learning. To facilitate this, they have academies in every major nation where their members study the history and culture of the villages around them, with students periodically being migrated between the schools to develop a balanced world perspective and a solid basis of historical knowledge. Clan members are given a significant amount of freedom regarding their life decisions, with the vast majority never actually practicing the jutsu and skills they research, simply content to acquire more knowledge for the sake of it.

Still, many young Sharamoi take a liking to one nation or another for some reason, entranced by the culture, history, combat styles or whatever happens to catch their fancy and they leave the academy life behind, becoming a ninja of whichever nation they have chosen. There is little issue with this division of clan members and it is understood both by the clan and the nations that Sharamoi of opposing villages will engage each other in combat as if they were unrelated, often with more zeal than if they weren't, each eager to see the results of both their own and their enemy clan member's studies and practice, though there is little malice in such battles.

As for the neutrality of the clan as an establishment, many powerful men have made efforts to sway the clan one way or another, to no effect. Should one nation provide a "gift" to the clan, the other nations find out one way or another and tend to match or exceed their competitors, leading to a cycle of all the nations funding the clan while gaining no advantage. The clan also has martial safeguards in place, and while many Sharamoi ninja have little or no contact with the greater Sharamoi establishment after departing for a village, they will nevertheless abandon national loyalties to defend their clan. This, couple with the fact that other nations would likely capitalize on the opportunity to join the Sharamoi defensive both for favors from the clan and a temporary army consisting of the clan's warriors helping to beat down the aggressive nation provide a powerful disincentive for disrupting the order of the clan.

Kekkei Genkai Description:Members of this clan have a ravenous desire for knowledge, with ninja of this clan devoting significant amounts of free time to the study of historical conflicts, the people involved and the jutsu used. As a result of this they tend to have a solid amount of knowledge of canon jutsu, cutting the training time(word counts) in half and reducing the training time(word counts) for elements and specializations by 30%.

Drawbacks:No clan jutsu. For all their talent at learning from others, members of this clan tend not to be very creative. When creating their own custom techniques, the word counts are increased by half. When taught a custom jutsu by another person, the positive and negative aspects cancel out and training proceeds as normal.

Woah. Hold your boat. I'm cool with everything except for this: This translates into halved wordcount and ryo costs for the learning of canon jutsu as well as element and specialization trainings. Elements and specializations is overkill. Keep it to just jutsu.

No need to discard the whole thing, it just needs to be toned down. Keep it at halved cost and training for just the canon jutsu and I see no problem. A 10% off of element and specialization word count would also be ok.

Alright, so what about if I took the ryo parts out? You get ryo posting normally anyway so that's not a big deal, I mostly just hate having to slog through training word counts, it's a boring chore.

Only wordcounts would be more fair than having halved Ryo as well. <3

If you do a lesser percentage as well for Elements/specs, it should be fine. Say 20 or 30% if you take out the Ryo deductions from your KKG.
