When We Were Young... A Flash Back Roleplay
The ringing sound of the alarm clock reverberated across the room, creating a rather uncomfortable mood for anyone in the vicinity. An idle hand extended out from beneath some thin bed sheets, reaching out in an attempt to silence the dreadful machine. With the first attempt it merely shoved the clock further away; the sound continued to wreck havoc on the individuals poor ears. Soft grown emitted from beneath the sheets moments before a young boy crawled from beneath the sheets slamming it on top of the clock several times. "Shush, you!" He demanded before emitting a soft yawn; his arms lifted over his head in a full extension to before allowing himself to fall straight back into bed. His head fell comfortable on top of the plush pillow, seeming to mold perfectly and comfortably with his skull. His fiery red hair sprawled beneath him, which would normally fall down to his waist.

He self consciously shifted his attention over to his clock, examining the time displayed in those taunting red digits. His eyelids shot open, revealing those marvelous emerald green lenses. The time read 7:53 AM and unfortunately class started at 8' o clock. "No way!" He panicked as he took grasp of the linen sheets and tossed them from his small frame. He lept out of the bed and immediately made his way towards the closet, withdrawing his black pants and white jacket and tossed it onto the bed. "Auntie! Why didn't you wake me!" He inquired, yelling out as he rummaged through the closet to find the other attire of clothing.

His aunt immediately begun giggling upon hearing his soft voice: "I'm grown Auntie Akane, I don't need your help!" She mocked as she prepared a small breakfast for Zwei. He grumbled a few words under his breth as he slipped on his pants in a frantic motion only to get his foot stuck. A loud thump echoed across the room as he fell to the floor "Yack!" He groaned loudly, but despite his rather obnoxious fall he managed to slip his pants on and soon rose to slip on his white jacket. The oni symbol on his back representing the Mitsurugi clan. Without further word he ran out of his bedroom, passing by his taunting auntie and making his way towards the exit. "Wait a minute, where are you going young man?" She inquired, motioning an idle hand to her face pointing at her cheek.

Zwei sighed heavily allowing his shoulders to drop a bit as he sulked. "I don't have time auntie!" He practically pleaded, though his aunt didn't falter and merely gave him a stern look with her hands at her hips. Zwei ran back to his aunt and placed a soft kiss on her cheek then immediately made his way out the door: "Have a good day! Don't be late Zwei!" Once outside he was immediately greeted by the sun's magnificent gaze. The sun blanketed the rocky terrain with it's warm rays; there was little vegetation due to the high elevation, but because of it the trees that were there were uniquely shaped. While running towards the academy Zwei shifted his attention to his waist momentarily and in that brief moment he collided with an older gentlemen; Mr. Yuuichi his neighbor. Zwei stumbled a bit, but managed to regain his composure: "Watch where you're going young man!" Zwei bowed politely, apologizing profusely before running off again. Mr. Yuuichi couldn't help but to chuckle to himself, finding the young boy's enthusiasm rather humorous.

"Excuse me, excuse me!" Zwei exclaimed as he ran through the busy crowd of the kage province of Iwakagure; it was extremely busy along this time, most adults were just now starting their days and were quite busy to say the least. Zwei managed to save some time by slipping through a few people's legs. He eventually made it to the academy and at this point he was panting heavily. Idle hands fell to his knees, using them to keep him upright for the most part. His gaze focused towards the massive clock on top of the academy building displaying the time 7:59AM. "Go Zwei, go!" He demanded as he made his way towards the large double doors; Zwei ran through the halls of the academy and eventually made it to the classroom where he shove the door open.

Once the door open a bucket that was positioned above the door flipped over, coating him in an enormous amount of water. The bucket was neatly placed over his head and the children in the classroom began to laugh and pointed towards the fiery red head. Despite the rather embarrassing predicament Zwei couldn't help but to laugh along side with the class, though it was immediately silenced by the sensei that was present in the room. "You're late, and since you are -- you'll be the first to introduce yourself." Zwei perked up and immediately shook himself like a wet dog in attempt to dry himself off. Beads of water went everywhere and ultimately the shake didn't do much as far as drying himself off.

He walked alongside the sensei taking notice of another individual on the other side of him. Zwei looked towards the other students and took a deep breath: "My name is Zwei Mitsurugi, I'm originally from the iron nations Tetsu no Kuni. I'm a samurai, and I've come to further evolve my skills here in Iwa!" He concluded; there were a few snickers in the classroom, complimented with a few whispers about the late boy. Some of it revolved around the episode with him arriving late and the bucket of water, while the commotions seemed to revolve around the idea of a Samurai learning shinobi techniques. It was quite an odd combination. Needless to say Zwei seemed unfaltered by it and a huge grin shaped his profile. He was extremely anxious into knowing more about the shinobi techniques; he was certainly behind, but fortunately for him and his sensei he was an extremely hard worker and knew he wouldn't have any trouble adapting.

Flames would erupt through varnished floorboards, screams would cry out as kunai flew through the sky stabbing innocent civilian's, the small farming village now painted red. A woman would hold a baby boy, running through the village as she shut her eye's dismissing the horrors which surrounded her. "Survive my child." Tear's would crawl down the mother's cheeks as she stood at a stone well, placing the child in an old wooden bucket before hoisting the bucket down the well. Her eye's would reopen to see her child off, a her lips would widen as she looked at her son for the last time. "I will always l_."

Awoken from his horrific slumber, Kazu's eye's would widen as his heart beat raced, it had been six year's since the traumatic event's of his parent's death and to this day it has still haunted him, lingering in his dream's and corrupting his very soul. Tear's would slide down his cheeks as he rose from his bed, his right arm would raise to wipe his face. His teeth would grit whilst his posture bent, a hurricane of emotions would whirl through his stomach. Come on Kazu, get a grip of yourself! His subconscious forcing thought's, fueling himself out of depression. His arm's would push him off his bed, forcing himself on his feet, as usual his leg's would wobble before they awoke themselves. Step after step, Kazu made his way to the cupboard, getting dressed, doing his morning routines as if it were clockwork. It had seemed Kazu had fixated on changing. No more crying Kazu. He told himself over, and over. His hand's would reach out for wooden handles before before pulling them open simultaneously. A ray of light would consume his sight with the sun's rays shining through his small apartment. It was the first night Kazu had spent in Iwagakure, and by himself for that matter and he was ready to start his first day in 'Ninja Academy.'

The warm air would smother it's way into his room, Kazu would look at the small clock by the kitchen table to notice the time. 7:55am. Fuck. First impression's was the key to advancing in being a shinobi, his left hand would grip on the window sil before leaping through the window and sprinting across the hallway. It seemed everyone had a place to go/ something to do. The rich smell of lavender incense and burning tobacco would smother the scent of the air, the burning hot ground would give those without shoes a hard day in itself. Kazu would make his way through crowds off people, zigzagging through the small gaps as his eye's would wander flicking back and forth viewing key path's to arrive at his destination quicker. His body would move swiftly through the passing folk as he made his way to the academy, his attention was quickly drawn to boy to his side, sprinting through the crowd's just like Kazu, yet having the talent to slip under people's legs. The talent would amaze Kazu as he tried it himself. Locating his target, a man reaching six foot four would be standing amidst the crowd of Iwagakure villagers. Here goes nothing. His leg's would crouch before launching himself horizontal, shooting himself under the man's leg's. His plan had triumphed or so he thought.... a stone embedded in the ground would catch on to the heel of Kazu's shoe, sending his trajectory upwards, the man would turn around facing Kazu, not noticing in the slightest the collision that was about to take place. Bracing for impact, Kazu would lower his arm's protect his gut, before going head first into the man's crutch. "OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW"

The man would howl as Kazu's skull had collided with the villager's 'royal jewels.' Without noticing Kazu would flick his body to his left landing back on his feet and take off in the direction of the academy. Panting and slightly disoriented, Kazu would make his way into the academy complex before sprinting down the hallway's before reaching the door. As his hand shifted for the doorknob, laughter would echo across the hallway's coming from the very classroom he was about to enter. Making his way into the classroom Kazu would notice a bucket seated atop the boy he had seen sprinting under legs. Water would drip down the boys shirt, Kazu glared at the bunch of children he was to call 'his class mates.' Kazu would wait at the door watching the event's in front of him. "You're late, and since you are -- you'll be the first to introduce yourself." The teacher would scowl at the thought of tardiness which would uproar the nerves Kazu had already. The boy with the bucket on his head would shake the water off before introducing himself. "My name is Zwei Mitsurugi, I'm originally from the iron nations Tetsu no Kuni. I'm a samurai, and I've come to further evolve my skills here in Iwa!" This was the first samurai Kazu had seen. A samurai? Pfft. He seem's annoying. Kazu would belch before making his way into the classroom, passing a note to the teacher in front of him. The teacher would read the note before standing and addressing the class.

"Ah, and another tardy student, well class the boy in front of you is Kazu Kanetsu, he's new to the town just like Zwei and his vocal cord's are damaged disallowing him from speaking." Kazu would look to the ground as he didn't care much for introductions, he'd look to his side to see the 'Zwei fella' with a large grin across his face. An emotion Kazu wish he could feel. His left hand would skim across the back of his head, itching the crap out of the back of his blonde hair which was covered by his black hood.

Zwei shifted his attention to the gloomy individual that entered the room after he did. A wry smile shaped his lips, finding it somewhat ironic that he hadn't noticed the kid until now especially since he had entered the classroom shortly after he did. Had Zwei been a mere minute later it would've been this new kid; Kazu, who would've been drenched instead of him. Needless to say Zwei motioned over to the other side of the sensei and leaned forward just a bit with his head reclined to the side so he could still see the new guy. There was a faint shadow over the young boy's face so he couldn't make out the expression he had; he wasn't sure whether he was mad, embarrassed, or perhaps even shy.

There were a few murmurs in the classroom prompting the sensei introducing the young boy. Most were frightened by his intimidating posture, wearing all black made a statement and the fact that he didn't say a word merely complimented his mystery."Alright gentlemen, both of you take a seat over there." The sensei directed, lifting an idle hand and motioning them to take some seats towards the back corner away from the window. Zwei followed directions obediently and made his way into the direction he was appointed to. With each step there was a sqiushy sound, complimented with a trail of water in his tracks. As he ascended the flight of stairs he could hear the whispers and mummers of the students as they gossiped about Zwei and Kazu. Most comments revolved around the fact that Kazu was extremely weird and spooky while others were filled with snickers as they made condescending remarks about the samurai.

Zwei didn't look back but he could sense Kazu behind him - perhaps a step behind him at best. Once they were at their appointed seats Zwei took his seat on the second to last on the row, giving his counter part an opportunity to have the corner seat in the back. Zwei was very eager to learn or at least get up and do something. He self consciously prodded at the wooden desk almost as if he was trying to talk to someone via morse code but honestly he was just being antsy. As the class commenced the instructor made his way over to the board and begun discussing basic tactics overall strategies in a battle. Zwei couldn't help but to be disappointed and slightly bored by the whole conversation; this was certainly something he learned at a far younger age.

Zwei shifted his attention over to Kazu, offering an extend arm out to him slightly under the concealment of the desk so that the instructor wouldn't be able to see them. "Hey Kazu, right? I'm Zwei -- nice to meet you. No matter what, lets make sure that we'll be the best. Number one and number two." He demanded in a soft whisper. Despite his soft voice he was extremely passionate and the look in his eyes certainly reinforced it. To be honest he could tell that the other students looked down on the two newer students. They both had a 'disadvantage' for being new, but Zwei refused to make excuses on why they couldn't be better than anyone else. His entire frame was still wet, though certainly better than what it was originally.

Snigger's and comment's would pass around the classroom. Kazu stood still as he didn't bother to notice the 'children' in front of him. They were to be nothing but stepping stones to achieving his goal to getting stronger. No matter. He'd shrug off the ominous thought's before glaring at the other new student, this 'Zwei Mitsurugi' fellah. After Kazu's introduction Zwei would tilt his body catching Kazu's eye, Kazu would hesitantly look away glaring at the open window's.

The heat portrayed from the sun's rays would radiate through the classroom. Kazu would grip the top of his hood, covering his face so he didn't have to deal with the shit heads in his class. Kazu would turn back to Zwei to notice his white attire, quite possibly the opposite of Kazu's attire. It wouldn't take long till the teacher instructed them to take their seats' forcing Kazu and Zwei to walk up the steps to the seats at the back away from the window. Sigh. Now they take the window from me, what else am i to do."

Kazu would place his hands in his pockets, using the weight of his arm's Kazu would tighten the hold of his hood over his head before letting Zwei walk to his seat. Following him up the stairs Kazu would notice the small drop's of water falling from his soaked shirt. Tilting his head to the right, Kazu would notice a boy with a red straw in his right hand raising it to his mouth, whilst his left hand rolled a piece of paper into a ball before placing it in his mouth, ready to spit the damn thing at Kazu. The nerve on this kid, i should put him down right now. His left fist would clench in his pocket as he was ready to kick this kid in the head before he re-evaluated his situation. Okay, calm down Kaz, wait till there's no witness's. A grin would stretch on his face as his plan of teaching the kid's "who not to fuck with" unraveled in his mind.

Kazu was not taking shit from anyone. The boy would inhale a deep breathe of air before expelling the paper ball out at Kazu. Even without thinking, Kazu would tilt his head backwards avoiding the side-on attack allowing the ball of spit to land in a poor girls hair. Everything was going south for Kazu. Nearing his seat's Zwei would take the seat on the second row, allowing Kazu the seat behind him. Making his way to his seat before swinging his feet, landing on the wooden bench. His crimson eye's would pan the area as the class began, the teacher would make his way to the blackboard, scribing all over the board with the piece of chalk in his left hand. The topic was about tactic's strategies. Kazu couldn't care the slightest. His elbow would sit against the desk allowing his head to rest on his hand, allowing his mind to be lost in thought. That was until a voice was hear from in front of him. "Hey Kazu, right? I'm Zwei -- nice to meet you. No matter what, lets make sure that we'll be the best. Number one and number two."

Kazu would smile at Zwei. Well, I'll have to agree with this dweep. Being looked down on by the vast majority was an idea Kazu had to change. As much as Kazu wanted to speak, his vocal cords disallowed him from speaking his mind. His grin would continue as he would point to himself and raise his pointer finger signifying he'd be the number one, making Zwei the number two. It was game on from here on out.

Zwei perked a brow as he observed Kazu's gesture; for someone who was unable to talk he certainly didn't lack confidence. Despite Kazu's self proclaiming motion, Zwei couldn't help but to smirk. Did this kid really think he'd be able to keep up? While growing up Zwei was taught humility was the way to go, but there was something about this individual that triggered something else. He couldn't wait to prove him wrong, but there was also a part of him that wanted Kazu to join him on his journey for class supremacy. "Alright Kaz-"

Just before he could conclude his statement he immediately retracted his head and leaned backwards as a pencil lunged into his direction eventually bouncing off the desk behind Zwei after the eraser collided with it. Emerald hued lenses followed the pencil's trajectory and with a quick extension of his arm he swiped it just as it begun to fall. The class watched in awe a bit surprised that Zwei was able to react to it; he wasn't even looking, yet he managed to allude it - matter of fact he caught it! Zwei stood up and adjusted so that Kazu was to his right. He held the pencil out infront of Kazu pressing against it with his thumb and pinky finger along both sides of the pencil until it snapped against the pressure. "Game on, Kazu." He concluded with a wry smirk shaping his lips. He knew Kazu couldn't speak, but the expression shrouding Kazu's expression

The sensei found the young boys' allusiveness and overall reflexes quite amazing especially for their ages. First it was Kazu's with his quick motion earlier and now this? These new students would certainly be interesting... "Zwei, is there something that you two would like to share with the class?" He inquired, taking notice that they were having some sort of strange communication with one another. Zwei bowed his head slightly just before shifting his attention back to the teacher: "Yes, Kazu and I will be the best warriors of Iwaga-" He paused for a moment, glancing back at Kazu one last time before concluding with: "The best two strongest warriors in the world." He stated with just the slightest hint of arrogance.

The other students chuckled and spoke sarcastically amongst each other, seeing no way that these two 'imbeciles' could possibly transcend them. Zwei had taken his seat moments later; his posture was straight and at this time he gave the sensei his full attention. He had no doubt that the two of them would indeed be the best, and he already planned on being the best but now he would certainly have to bring his S game. "Very well Zwei." The sensei started with a bit of a smirk: "How about you two start off by running an entire lap around the village -- not only for being late, but for disrupting the class as well." The class broke out in a hysterical laughter as the sensei assigned the two with disciplinary actions.

Zwei was a bit taken back by it, but honestly he didn't mind -- he would prefer to get up and actually move around then to talk about something as trivial as basic battle strategies. Also it gave him a chance to see what Kazu was all about. Zwei stood up and bowed respectfully to the Sensei just before making his way out the door. There was a different kind of focus intent shaping his visage, and although the students would snicker and mutter condescending words under their breath, they dared not to try anything funny as the duo passed. These two young boys were the future; Iwagakure's longevity and prosperity would be rely on them a lot sooner than later.

As Kazu and Zwei locked eye's, Kazu would be enthralled by the sheer nature of Zwei's counter statement. The tension would cloud around the two seated at the back of the classroom. It was nothing Kazu had felt before, a sheer determination to beat Zwei's standards overwhelmed his emotions. "Alright Kaz-" Before the swordsman could finish his sentence a pencil would glide through the aiming for Zwei, but Zwei without a glance would swipe the pencil after it struck Kazu's desk. As a gasp would be heard from the student who threw the wooden projectile, Kazu would smile as thing's just got heated. Kazu's eyelids would unfold over his crimson iris's, before reopening only to watch Zwei break the pencil he had caught. "Game on, Kazu." Tension had seemed to shroud the classroom, and eventually disrupted the classroom as the sensai spoke.

"Zwei, is there something that you two would like to share with the class?"
Kazu would snigger as Zwei was addressed and not himself. Zwei with respond with "Yes, Kazu and I will be the best warriors of Iwaga- The best two strongest warriors in the world." A strong wind would fill Kazu's lungs before he couldn't hold it in any longer. Kazu would abruptly laugh in a soundless manor, something the few around seemed to think was the most awkward thing they've ever seen. The disbelief of his fellow academy student preaching their future rank's would send Kazu in a fit of laughter.

But as he began to calm down Kazu would notice the stern look on the sensai's face. "How about you two start off by running an entire lap around the village -- not only for being late, but for disrupting the class as well." As the class broke out in laughter, Kazu's laughter would cease, and without a thought or remark he would leave make his way down the stairs and leap out the window, to begin his 'laps.' Whether the other student's dared to try them, Kazu had his eye's set on the spit shooter. Making his way out the window Kazu would catch his gaze before smiling. Just wait kid, your ass is mine. As the two left the building, the classroom was left with awe, as the two new powerhouses had started their career.

~Most rivalries end in death, but some never end. For when stories are told of great rivalries, they shake the very foundation of the shinobi world. Would Madara Uchiha and Hirashima Senju, two shinobi's with world dominating strength, have reached their full potential without each other? If Naruto didn't rival with Sasuke, would he have ever built the resolve to save the world. With such great rivalries, one can truly find their full potential. ~

Two year's would pass since Zwei and Kazu's first day at the academy. Over the year's their rivalry grew strong. Their strengths both uniquely different but at both at a standstill. Growing up for their final years at academy, Kazu would return to his home at Uchimagi Caves, in a year long training to regain his voice. The training was more like a year long operation, undergoing diet's like feeding on live animals. Kazu would return to Iwagakure a completely different person. He hadn't said his first word yet. Quite literally he had never said a word in his entire life. Returning to Iwagakure, he would stand as the large chakra reinforced door's which would slowly open, displaying the vast, tall buildings that made up the village.

Walking in with the same attire as he always had, the black hoodie worn hiding his face, Kazu would make his way to his apartment. Walking down the main street of Iwagakure Kazu would pass his class, all grouped up standing on empty fields. He would walk up to the group welcoming himself back into his class. The stares of his classmates were longer than the usual. They could tell Kazu had changed. The sensei would spot him. "Oh your back? Welcome Kazu." The sensei's eyebrow would raise as suspicion rose. Kazu would blatently ignore the sensei's words as his crimson gaze searched for one man, and one man only, Zwei Mitsurugi.

The two years were very kind to Zwei, due to a very unexpected friendship through a rivalry. He managed to accomplish most of his short-term goals; spreading awareness of the Mitsurugi Clan, being amongst the elite students of the village, and most importantly pleasing his father in the process. They shared a unique bond with one another, they couldn't communicate in a conventional manner however they understood each other perfectly. With the passing year they were force to part ways with one another; Kazu had a personal journey he had to tend to, leaving Zwei an uncontested spot for number one. At first Zwei had difficulty staying focused on the tasks at hand; of course he would still dominate his peers in exercises, there was spark that was simply lacking and everyone around him could see it. Despite the sudden drop off in personal growth. Zwei's leadership skills involved severely; he would often take lead in activities, inspire, and encourage his peers through example. His overall popularity had increased dramatically and he obviously earned his keep in the village. Eventually Zwei's ember had been re-energized when the sensei reminded Zwei that Kazu was only getting stronger during Zwei's time of complacency.

It was spring time the most beautiful time of the year in Iwakagure, this was one of the few times where vegetation flourished along the expanse of the usual stony terrain. Zwei was among the first few students to arrive to class; he brought it upon himself to wake up early every morning and train his body and mind with a vigorous amount of training. He sat towards the back along side the window; after spending time with Kazu prior to him leaving he noticed the preference and always made sure that they had a window seat. Zwei had one arm folded along the table with an idle hand on his chin supporting his weight as he leaned forward. Emerald hued lenses wandered aimlessly out the window, admiring the beautiful scenery from within. Times like this made him miss his home land and also dread the idea of being lounged indoors while it was so beautiful outside.

As the time pass the room begun to fill with a bunch of eager students. Zwei put on a pleasant smile greeted everyone who took the time to acknowledge him as they made their way to the seats. Commotion filled the classroom as a series of multiple conversations erupted about. It wasn't anything serious; it never was, from time to time he would over hear a group of girls scheming and coming up with ways to be his girl friend. Being the top student had it's perks, he was certainly flattered by their gestures but of course he would always politely decline them. Zwei certainly didn't have enough time for that especially with his strict training schedule. The teacher eventually entered the room and begun class as usual and today's topic was about elements. Zwei made an attempt to focus on the instructor, although he found it rather difficult due to the fact his aunt and uncle had the curriculum and he was forced to study it every night. Zwei was way ahead of the class, and even when the teacher would try to catch him off guard he was still able to answer the questions.

Before Zwei even realized it he was staring outside the window yet again, twirling a pencil with the tip of his fingers. There was an light stretching about 3 inches from both sides as he emitted a decent amount of chakra to expand it's range. He didn't pay too much attention to the pencil or anything for that matter until the students begun to speak out and commotions began to fill the room. The name 'Kazu' aroused his attention and with that he placed his hand flat on the twirling pencil, dispersing the light that poured from it. "Oh your back? Welcome Kazu." The sensei inquired; Zwei turned his head quickly to meet the gaze of the young boy. It was subtle, but there was something quite different about him. His eyes were a bit sharper with a deeper scarlet hue, complimented by a more define shade of blonde in his hair. The edges of Zwei's lips lifted slightly as a faint smirk shaped his lips; he didn't say a word, but simply lifted an idle hand up to get Kazu' attention.

The sensei was quite taken back by Kazu's arrival; he wasn't exactly informed on the details of Kazu's departure so his return was also unprecedented. The sensei grumbled a few words under his breath due to Kazu's reaction or rather lack of towards his previous inquiry. "No Kazu, don't get comfortable -- Zwei, perhaps you should escort Kazu to the administrative office at the Kage prefecture." Zwei placed an idle hand on the back of his head, ruffling up his hair a bit as he stood. He was excited that Kazu had returned, but of course he wouldn't make it obvious. Zwei made his way over to the exit and merely bowed his head towards Kazu, despite his attempts to conceal it Zwei couldn't hide the warm smile that graced his lips. His entire posture and expression seem to pour out with excitement. "Come on Kaz." He stated simply as he walked passed him. Once they vacated the classroom Zwei slipped his hands inside his pockets as he led the eway: "Took you long enough to get back, where did you go exactly?" Zwei inquired, peaking over his shoulder a bit to examine Kazu's expression.

The very air would shift as two crimson iris would catch the gaze of an emerald hue. it had been a year since he had seen his rival. The only person he would want to speak to. Already ignoring the welcoming words from his sensei, Kazu couldn't help but hear the demand of his teacher telling Zwei to take him to the Tsuchikage's office. His gaze would stray away from Zwei's stepping back outside, turning his body, steering to the direction of their destination whilst waiting for Zwei to join him. His hand's slept in his pocket's as his eye's danced around the class, looking at the old faces he did not care about. "You still using that pissy little sword still? I'd love to beat you up for old time sake." A snigger would follow as he thought back to two years ago. The evenly matched test's to their personal fight's outside of academy, Kazu would be eager to start up the rivalry again. As they crept closer to their destination Kazu would stop in his track's before glaring at Zwei. "Don't hold back on your word." Kazu would hope Zwei knew what he was talking about.

"Pfft." A smug expression shaped Zwei's profile as the words alluded from Kazu's reckless lips. The mere thought of going soft was out of the question; there was far too much on the line for Zwei to allow that to happen. Zwei listened intently as Kazu spoke; it was quite amazing how they would communicate with one another, almost as if they had just seen each other the previous day. Wait a second... Something isn't right He thought to himself as Kazu continued to speak, and it was then where he suddenly realized it. His eyelids shot open and he came to an abrupt halt, turning to face his friend: "Since when the hell did you start speaking?" For the moment he simply discarded Kazu's previous statements, a bit taken back by the simple thought his friend could now speak. "Man, I never imagined you'd sound like a loser when you spoke -- I guess I should have though." He added with a hint of a joke.

Despite his state of shock Zwei merely shook his head from side to side, allowing his reckless strains of auburn hair toss loosely in the air. He shook the thought out of his head: "Actually don't worry about it -- congrats on being able to speak, but I think I preferred you more when you couldn't speak." He joked before adding: "As far as my word goes -- while you were out getting a 'voice' I was holding everything down at the Academy." Zwei began walking against, eventually they made their way to the exit of the academy. Of course they were given strict instructions to meet go to the Tsuichikage's prefecture, but Zwei had something else in mind.

A wry smirk shaped his nimble lips as they stood outside the academy, he turned and placed and idle hand on Kazu's chest and took a few steps backwards: "I got to make sure you haven't missed a step while you were gone." He hinted at a little spar, but he was certainly sure that Kazu could read between the lines. Zwei placed his right hand along the hilt of his sword, which was securely laced along his left side. He didn't take a combatant step right away; he wasn't quite sure how Kazu would react to the challenge, perhaps he changed while he was gone for that long year

The normal bickering would occur between the two. As usual a series of taunts and bold statement's would trade between the two, thus starting actions they would later regret. As Kazu spoke his first word, Zwei would take his time before realizing he had spoken for the first time. "Since when the hell did you start speaking?" A grin would develop on Kazu's lips as he saw the dumb look on Zwei's face. "Man, I never imagined you'd sound like a loser when you spoke -- I guess I should have though." A vein would appear on the side of his forehead as Kazu clenched his teeth tight. "Hah, well now that i can speak, I'm sure we can think of a nickname."

Kazu would pause as his gaze floated around thinking of ideas, but his train of thought would be interrupted by the red haired swordsman. "As far as my word goes -- while you were out getting a 'voice' I was holding everything down at the Academy." The already small grin would stretch longer on Kazu's face in sheer excitement on what Skarn had developed in his skills. "I got to make sure you haven't missed a step while you were gone." Kazu's body would come to a halt as it was held back by the hand of Zwei's. His train of thought would venture to his training at Uchimagi, as getting his voice wasn't the only trait he had acquired. "Oh? Still ignorant as always. Well, i have a new technique I'd like to test out." Kazu would pause before he spoke again. "If it's successful it'll probably end you, that'll be two birds with one stone huh?"

His crimson eye's would dance in it's sockets as they noticed the samurai's hands drifting to the hilt of his sword. "Oh? Eager are we? Allow me to make the first move." The air grew tense as Kazu reached for his back pocket pulling two kunai with his right hand and flicked them at Zwei in front of him aiming for his left shoulder and lower torso before leaping taking a backward step traveling 2 meters which he would then pull another kunai from his pouch and place it in his right hand, waiting for a counter attack. His smile would turn into a snigger before yelling out to his sword wielding rival. "Show me what you got pussy."

Zwei was exceptionally pleased that his peer wasn't a complete idiot -- he preferred close quarters and could certainly appreciate Kazu's caution. Technically Kazu was within his range and he could strike quickly and very effectively, but it wasn't his style and he was looking forward to see what new tricks he had. With that thought in mind he retreated a few steps back -- they stood about 15 meters away from one another. "Yeah, I think I preferred it a lot more when you couldn't speak. Anyways prepare yourself!" He kept an idle hand poised along the hilt of his wooden sword, with the other one just beneath the guard to grasp it firmly. Zwei wasn't well versed in the arts of Jutsu, but fortunately for him he was an excellent swordsman. He took in a deep yet shallow breath, obviously effected by the thin air of the higher altitude. Zwei took a long stride to the right followed by another to the left before darting forward into Kazu's direction. He was a lot faster than the traditional shinobi, but he had no doubt that not only would Kazu be able to see him, but to be able to counter him as well.

A green aura shrouded his entire frame; his emerald green lenses illuminated slightly as he wind enveloped his entire body. Eventually the green aura shifted from his body to his wooden sword, extending it from it's normal 36" to 72". The tip of the blade drug across the stony terrain below, but it wasn't nearly strong enough to do any damage to the earth. He tilted the sword forward just a bit -- just enough to where the tip of the blade hovered over the earth about an inch. He withdrew his wooden blade from his makeshift sheathe and quickly planted his foot into the earth, sliding forward a few inches as he made a horizontal slash towards Kazu's abdomen region. He was relatively strategic with his attack, not really aiming to strike Kazu but merely force him to move some. At this point the distance between them was roughly two meters. His right(weapon weidling) arm was in full extension; left foot forward -- a proper strike!

A red flash would pass his Kunai, Crimson eyes could only just see the flicking silhouette of the swordsman in front of him. Kazu's teeth would grit, his hands played a melody of hand signs as he was just moments away from recieving a melee assault from Zwei. His posture straight whilst his legs bent, if Kazu had a chance is was to have range, underestimating Zwei's swordsmanship and taking a direct hit could be fatal. Zwei's speed was impeccable as always as he strode closer to Kazu. A crimson gaze would watch Zwei's every move as chakra would shroud across his body, only to suppress it into his wooden blade. Underestimating not only the strike, but the blade reinforced with chakra would lead to a easy win. No way is that happening.

It was the moment of truth, Kazu had already prepared hand signs ready to counter Zwei, but would it pay off? And what was this jutsu that Zwei had used? Was it mere chakra flow? Kazu would wait for Zwei to strike before he could move, his crimson gaze would watch as Zwei would plant his foot before gliding his blade across the air in a horizontal fashion. Zwei would kick off the ground sending himself backward. His variation of hand signs would come to a halt as he took a deep breathe only to expel fire ball's from his mouth, twenty in total, which would all head for the general direction of Zwei. Kazu's body would take two more steps back before noticing how close Zwei was from cutting him. Looking down at his shirt Kazu would notice a large horizontal cut across the front of his shirt. He got me? Had his eyes deceive him, Kazu had clearly kept his distance, so the attack had range? Kazu had to test the waters before he could counter attack, but he had felt his fire jutsu would keep him busy.

Zwei exhaled deeply as his arm swung into a full extension; once Zwei had unleashed his first strike he contemplated following up with another quick attack. There was some separation, but surely he could close the gap, right? With that brief moment of indecisiveness he missed his opportunity to follow up and found himself in a rather compromising situation. He pressed off his front food and lept backwards, creating a little more space between him and his peer. It wasn't the ideal move to make, but since he missed his chance he had to protect himself against Kazu's counter assault. It was just in the nick of time, just as he landed there was a compressed ball of flames propelled into his direction.

With his idle hand he reached towards the hilt of his sword, lifting the sword just a bit to swing it in a downward motion in a diagonal swing across his body to some of the first ignited ball. Upon contact the ball of flames dispersed though some of the flames splashed onto his clothing and some on his forearm, but of course nothing too serious -- if anything a minor burn that would heal over time. As for his sword, it wasn't as fortunate -- it was immediately engulfed in the flame so once the sword had dispelled the flame so he merely released and it fell to the floor. Such a neat trick that his peer had, a faint smirk shaped his lips as he caught a glimpse of the incoming spheres of flames. It seemed the attack was based to assault a generic area rather than pinpointing on an accurate target so Zwei didn't have to make too much movements to allude the first waves of flames. Despite the inaccurate flames, it forced him to stay in a certain proximity -- if he tried to make a quick escape to one side it would just leave him vulnerable to another wave of flames. He would pivot from side to side, duck, slide, and at times he would even hop -- but unfortunately for him the next wave wouldn't be easily avoided.

Once he landed he caught a glimpse of the incoming ball of fire -- his eyelids shot open, in attempt to allude the attack he quickly duck. His hair lifted slightly as the incoming flame swept by, catching most of it in it's flame. Even though he managed to avoid a lot of the flames, an aching sensation filled his chest -- due to all his vigorous dodging it seemed to cause a bit more stress on his heart than he was use to. He fell to his knee, an idle hand clinching at the fabric along his chest -- Zwei made an attempt to move out of the way but his body betrayed him. Just as the flame was about to make contact he extended his arm out in front of him "Fuuton!--" Just before Zwei could conclude his statement stone wall emerged from the earth before him, blocking the flames before they collided.

"Ah shit.." Zwei grumbled to himself as he peaked towards the academy doors. He was quite familiar with this jutsu and if it was as he thought; it seemed the duo had been caught... AGAIN. The earth that encompassed both warriors lifted and enclosed them in a stone dorm, ensnaring both of them in a rocky prison. "I thought I told you guys to go to the Tsuichikage's district!" The sensei instructed as he stood by the door; the students all gathered by the door inside, cracking jokes and giggling as they saw the sensei disciplining the two students. While enclosed in his stony prison, Zwei took a moment to catch his breath. The sharp pain in his chest begun to subside and fortunately for him he was able to hide his little 'curse' for a little bit longer, but perhaps Kazu had seen it..? The mere thought caused Zwei to shudder; he hadn't even noticed that most of his hair had been charred due to the flames.

Zwei sighed deeply as he placed an idle hand on the top of his head, stroking his hair a bit down to shoulder length. The moment his hand came in contact with that region a massive lock of hair fell to the ground - Zwei's emerald hued lenses immediately darted to the side, taking notice of the falling hair: "Damnit, he won't let this down." He muttered quietly to himself -- a faint smirk shaped his lips finding it relatively humorous that he allowed Kazu to do that to him. "Sorry Sensei! I just had to make sure Kazu didn't miss a step -- we're going right now so remove the domes!" Zwei inquired from within the dome. The sensei placed a hand on his forehead, shaking his head from side to side: "You two are going to drive me crazy one day." He inquired as he placed both of his hands out and dismissed the domes -- the stone walls subsided into the earth and the fissures the stone walls created had closed almost as if he hadn't don't anything at all. Zwei shifted his attention to Kazu and merely tilted his head to the side slightly before returning it up right, motioning him to go ahead. "We're off now!" Zwei uttered with a sheepish grin painted across his face; he acted as if nothing happened, hoping that he could conceal his little episode. He headed over towards Kazu so that they could make their way to the Tsuichikage's district.

Spherical balls of flames would disperse from Kazu's lips, his body would continue to fall backward in hope of keeping away from Zwei's close range assault. Kazu would watch as the compressed fireballs would make their way towards Zwei, his body would come to a halt as his feet planted to the ground before straightening his posture and assessing Zwei's ability to dodge his fire style jutsu. His movements have advanced, but underestimating a fire jutsu with such a big area of effect will be your downfall.

The hooded academy student would wait patiently before thinking of showing his newer jutsu, using his bloodline trait a plan to display his kekkai genkai flowered into his plans. As Zwei continued to defeat the flames by simply dodging Kazu would notice Zwei begin to tire, falling at one knee and grasping his chest as if a heart attack was imminent. Flame's would glide through the air aiming for the red haired academy student, that was until a stone wall would rise from the ground between the pair blocking his katon onslaught.

Arg. Not this again. It was evident who interrupted their battle with the doton jutsu. His head would turn to the direction of the academy only for his vision be obscured by a rock dome to emerge from the earth beneath him, trapping him inside in the earthly prison. Kazu would give out a loud sigh before realizing who the jutsu belonged to, their annoying sensai. He would then hear Zwei's voice, apologizing as if he had just slept with his wife and begged forgiveness. "Zweiboy, it seems your still the suck up you've always known to be." He'd giggle after his shrude comment before the sensai would deactivate his jutsu allowing the earthly prison to unravel back into the ground beneath them. Without a moments notice Kazu began walking towards the Tsuchikage's office, completely ignoring the sensai's presence.

His posture would slouch as he made his way with Zwei to the Tsuchikage's office, the fact that he had to report to the Tsuchikage that he returned was a stupid choir in itself. As Kazu walked side by side with his fellow academy student he tilted his head to the sky and began to chuckle. "I like the new hair cut?" He'd laugh at the charred ends on portions of his hair. His hands would yet again fade to his pockets as he mind began to ponder.

"I hope you remember we'll be the strongest shinobi in the world. You better not slack off or I'll cleave your head right off those bony shoulders of yours." He'd give a whimsical grin glaring at Zwei issuing a life long challenge to test each other and continue to grow into powerful shinobi. It wouldn't take long for them to reach the Tsuchikage's office, a decorated building larger than most in Iwagakure would be packed with shinobi. Kazu would slide past a few by merely turning his body left and right, juking through Iwagakure shinobi.

Before swiftly squeezing into the building and making his way through the arched doorways and through long rock hallways. He than made his way into the secretary's office, a lady with blonde hair would be seated behind the desk. "I'm here to see the dumbass kage." Kazu would say in a dull tone as he hated all forms of older people. "Dumbass? Oh I'll tell him you said that, stay put till i get back." Kazu would follow the orders and wait till he was ready to see the kage.
