It was an average day in Sunagakure for Diaki, he sat in his backyard his blind eyes staring blankly into the distance at stone privacy wall he and his daughter had built years ago. The blind Uchiha sat and pondered over his life, his valorous hunts in which he ended the lives of villainous scum, and his less noble pursuits of his younger age. While the elderly Uchiha had made a plethora of mistakes he liked to believe he did enough good to counter balance the evil, he hoped fortune would smile not necessarily upon him but upon his lineage, he hoped his sins wouldn’t be forced upon his only heir one day, his daughter, Akiko. However a day of reckoning was quickly approaching the elderly Uchiha, one he could not foresee and one that he could not stop.

Diaki’s now sensitive ears picked up on the sound of movement echoing from the interior of his home, slowly he stood to his feet. His left hand touched the course stone wall as he shakingly took a step towards the backdoor to his house. The sound of the steps didn’t sound like any he had heard before, they were too heavy to be his wife’s or his daughter’s but perhaps he was wrong, perhaps his ears were going out as well.

Akiko? Is that you? If so I am out here, come and tell me about your night, how did the mission go? Your mother went to the Market and will not be home for a few more hours, so come and regale me with your stories. Diaki called out with a small smile and chuckle.

Out of all the lies Diaki had told one thing he never lied about was his love for not only his daughter but his wife as well. He had ruined so many lives, either on his blade or through iron shackles, but his family was, in his mind, the sign that he had truly done some good in this life. The old and blind Uchiha would slowly make his way back to the chair he sat in and wait for the source of the footsteps to join him.

So Akiko, tell me about your mission hmm? This old Shinobi is dying to know how it went. Diaki asked yet again, his excitement clear upon his voice.

The wooden floorboards groaned beneath his feet. Admittedly, Trilby could have walked without making a noise, but why bother? His mark was not some young warrior in his prime, but an old man who had lost both his combat ability and his sight. Even if he did mould chakra, he probably couldn't use it, and certainly not effectively. He was hardly a challenge for a Shinobi in his prime such as Trilby.

"Akiko? Is that you? If so I am out here, come and tell me about your night, how did the mission go? Your mother went to the Market and will not be home for a few more hours, so come and regale me with your stories," An elderly man called out in Trilby's general direction. It made sense that he would assume it was his daughter, why would anyone come for a man of his age, anyway? Granted, it was risky for Trilby to even be in Sunagakure, he hadn't been branded a traitor, but he was certain his wife had agents in her trusted circles ordered to locate him. Still, he felt this man was worth a personal visit.

Stepping out onto the porch in the backyard, Trilby locked his eyes on the blind Shinobi. He was sitting down, and had a free chair a few feet next to him. Noiselessly, Trilby removed his Katana from it's blade, holding it's hilt softly in his right hand before taking the seat next to Diaki. "So Akiko, tell me about your mission hmm? This old Shinobi is dying to know how it went." So, the ruse had not yet been exposed, time to fix that.

Trilby silently extended the tip of his blade til it was an inch from the old man's neck. He raised it slightly, pointing it towards his face. "Move and you're dead." He barked, pressing the tip of the blade into his cheek softly. "Daiko Uchiha. My name is Trilby, i'm sure you've heard of me. Husband of Gin Kuroka, acting Kazekage. I served as Spymaster of Sunagakure no Sato and was born and raised a slave. I've heard of you too... your sins. Normally i'd have had one of my men deal with you, but you my good sir warranted special attention. During your time working with the Black Arm Gang you ruined countless lives by selling them as slaves. One of those people was my mother," Trilby paused for a minute, removing the blade now that he was certain the man had got the point. He kept it pointed towards his face as he continued, however. "I am not without my mercies, however. I wish to hear what you have to say for yourself..."

Daiki listened to the footsteps take a seat across from him, his smile sat perfectly on his face as he awaited to hear his only daughter’s voice excitedly telling him about the events of her first C rank mission. Hoever, those words never were heard, the voice of his beloved daughter never echoed throughout the small porch, instead all he heard was a gruff, rage filled voice. "Move and you're dead." Is all it said. Diaki felt his smile fade from his face as cold steel pressed against his face, but he was not afraid. The retired shinobi opened his mouth to inquire who it was he had the pleasure of addressing but the voice rang out with an answer prematurely.

One of those people was my mother," The voice spoke, giving a hostile introduction to their affair.

Diaki exhaled softly, so his past had finally caught up with him and vengeance would rip him away from his young daughter with an untimely demise. Diaki lowered his head despite the Katana resting on his cheek, causing blood to gush from a tiny knick below his left eye, blood on his face, such a familiar feeling. Diaki would allow the moment of silence to pass unbroken, his lack of honor had landed him here, he would accept whatever the young angry Shinobi handed to him.

"I am not without my mercies, however. I wish to hear what you have to say for yourself..." Trilby spoke harshly.

Diaki was no fool, he knew his fate had been sealed; he would die sitting in this chair at the hands of a vengeful ninja. Although he allowed a small chuckle to escape his lips, part of the situation was ironic to him, he had left Kiri to come to Suna to ensure his family survived and yet Suna would cause it to wither. Diaki recomposed himself after the blade left his cheek, he looked up at what he hoped was Trilby’s face and began to speak.

“I mean no disrespect Saanin Uzumaki Trilby, the reason I uprooted my family from Kirigakure no sato was to ensure my daughter did not die prematurely. I had hoped my family would flourish under the hot sun of Suna that burns with the same pride I instilled in my daughter. I have no reason to lie to you Uzumaki, I am an old man, and my game with death is merely one of cat and mouse now. Trilby, I was involved in the slave trade, several of the deceased bounties I claimed on Rogue Ninja were in fact alive and well. Although, I do not recall ever selling an Uzumaki, although I could be wrong, Uzumaki are worth quite the purse or they were back then. But, you didn't come here to listen to my past did you? No, you came here for blood, know this before you strike me down Uzumaki Trilby, I did it to support the young girl who will be coming home soon. Uchiha Akiko, the one good thing I did in this world. Take my life as penance for my crimes against those I ruined, but leave innocent blood out of this dispute, if you have any honor that is not misguided by hate you will understand and agree." Daiki explained in a calm voice.

The elderly Uchiha gripped the arm rests of his chair and then made to stand up, if he was to die, he would do so in his own home out of the heat. Although he doubted he would make it past the ever growing wrath before him. As he passed by Trilby he placed a hand on his shoulder and whispered a single request.

"Make it a clean death…for both our sakes."

The elderly shinobi rose from his chair, slowly walking past Trilby. He allowed this movement, as he knew the walking corpse was unable to escape him. As Daiki passed Trilby, he placed his left hand on Trilby's shoulder, muttering a single desperate request. "Make it a clean death... for both our sakes." Having finished his request, he removed his hand from Trilby's shoulder, and stepped through the door-way into his house. Trilby walked in behind him, raising his katana and holding it with both of his hands, the blade pointed to the sky. "You ask for mercy for your daughter, but you showed my family none. I will rape her, and then I will kill her..." Before the elderly shinobi had time to react to Trilby's threat, the blade began to swing down, connecting with the left side of his neck in a downwards angle. The blade forced it's way down his torso in a horrid grinding nose of bone cracking and organs splitting, eventually exiting the man's body at his right hip.

After wiping the blade clean, using the now dead Shinobi's clothes as a cleaning rag, Trilby sheathed his blade and casually made his way towards the exit of the house, stepping on the now bisected man's face in the process. His face and shirt was still covered in blood splatter, as you would expect from such a... gruesome way of murdering someone. It felt good, certainly, to slaughter the man who had captured his mother; it gave him a sense of closure. After all, if he hadn't captured his mother, Trilby never would have been born into slavery.

To say her night was simple would be an understatement; catching “The Midnight Bandit” hadn’t proven as much a challenge as taking care of his two grandchildren. Who would have thought that two children could be so active? One thing was for sure, Akiko was relieved when her duty of being a glorified babysitter ended. However, Karma was about to pay her one of the cruelest visits, one that would come entirely from left field, one she couldn’t have dreamed of even in her most twisted of nightmares.

Akiko entered the house and kicked her sandals off; her feet ached from their lack of support and demanded relief. She removed her Katana from the constrictive constraints of the cloth folds on her waist and carefully and respectfully placed the blade on the traditional mantel piece by the door. Then Akiko slid open the paper door to the families humble home, her eyes were on the hard wood floors as she walked briskly into the house.

“You will never believe what happened last night Da-“ Akiko started to say, addressing her father.

But instead of being greeted by his warm smile, his calming voice, and his beautiful white eyes; she was greeted by the crimson color of blood which had trickled to the toe of her left foot. Slowly her eyes traced the blood stream to a horrifying scene, her father’s corpse laid in twain on the middle of the living room floor. Akiko screamed as she dashed to her father’s side, cradling his mangled head in her lap as she begged for this to fade from her eyes, she prayed that “The Midnight Bandit” had cast some horrendous Genjutsu on her and that this would all fade away. But this was no Genjutsu, this was reality and Akiko only had one other person to ask that existed in the house, Uzumaki Trilby.

“What happened to him? Did you kill the-“ Akiko stopped in the middle of her questions as she looked back at Trilby for the first time.

Akiko’s eyes started with his shoes, they were saturated in the wet, sticky, crimson blood that had once flown through her father’s veins. The front of his pants held the same effect, Akiko didn’t even bother looking at his torso, it was his hands that would confirm him as her father’s murderer. Akiko didn’t see the valiant slayer of a cruel man who ruined countless lives; she saw a monster that had ripped her father from her. She stared at his still wet hands; they were stained with the blood of her father, they were stained by the blood of the innocent in her eyes.

Akiko’s jaw tightened as she brought her eyes to meet Trilby’s own, hatred seeped from her pores and burned through her veins as she asked him a single question in a voice that was twisted by the venom of spite.

“Did you do this, Uzumaki Trilby?”

Trilby's attempt to exit the properly was cut off by the arrival of the daughter he had been told about by Diaki. He watched in silence as she cradled his corpse, and waited for the question he knew was coming. "Did you do this, Uzumaki Trilby?" he scuffed at the obvious question he had been presented with. She even had to ask? "Don't ask questions you already know the answer to." he barked at her before turning towards the door. He stepped out of the properly casually, dragging his heel around in a circle as he kicked up the dirt, leaves and sand that surrounded him. In the slurry of flying debris, Trilby vanished. He had intended on walking away casually, but if he didn't leave with a degree of haste he knew the girl would do something stupid and he'd be forced to put her down.

"Don't ask questions you already know the answer to."

Was the answer Akiko received, she felt as the hatred physically overrode her mind, releasing a specialized chakra throughout her body, the Curse of Hatred had taken its first roots. But the change wouldn’t end there, slowly the young Uchiha’s eyes twisted, the very pigment changed in her pupils to the same crimson that stained her clothes and hands, the Sharingan had awoken.

Akiko’s eyes fell down to her father’s twisted corpse, time seemed to pass slightly slower as she looked down at his bloodstained body. Uzumaki Trilby had done this, he had taken one of the few people she loved from her, it was for that reason Akiko would make him pay, and she would force him to feel the same agony she did as he died. Without even realizing it Uchiha Akiko took a step in the same direction of the ancestors she considered monsters, she buckled slightly under the weight of the Uchiha Curse, the source of power for all Uchiha, she slipped downwards and allowed herself to be given to hatred in that moment.

“I will avenge you, I will make Uzumaki Trilby pay, and your murder won’t go unnoticed.” Akiko whispered into the long dead ears of her father’s corpse.
