Takumi had gotten up to start his hike to the itami mountain where his rematch with Zen would take place. the only thing he took with him was his chuunin coat. he ascended the mountain with great speed nce he reached the top he realized he was early so he sat down and began meditating. he wondered how this fight would go would it be a tie again or would he win or would he be destroyed. He decided to not think about it any more and just focus on relaxing.

Zen woke with a start; it was going to be a rather eventful day today. All right...this was it... It was time to face Takumi, his semi-rival. The only person besides Arashi he considered his rival, anyway.. Zen walked down the streets of Iwa... to the highest point in the Land of Earth. Zen wondered how it would go this time...when he knew he probably wouldn't have to hold back. Last time....he had to. A genin versus a Special Jounin? That wouldn't have been fair....Zen hoped that Taku's head wasn't swelled from last time. Their previous match was a draw....supposedly... he wondered how it'd go this time. Scaling the mountain was surprisingly a piece of cake for Zenchi; no trouble, he barely even broke a sweat. At the arranged spot, he waited for his combatant partner...

Takumi heard somebody coming up the mountain takumi stood up and dutsed his pants off. He walked over to see if it was zen and sure enough it was. Taku threw up a hand and said "Hey Zen hows it going". Taku then cracks his back while waiting on Zen to respond.

Ah, it was Takumi. It seemed like he had already been here for quite awhile, if he had time to meditate....Zen hoped he hadn't kept the Chuunin waiting. "Ah, Takumi. Surprised that you managed to know it was me," he said, removing the obscuring hood of his Black Coat....he figured that it was sort of his signature garb. Still, all of the guards at Bastion Adamantine wore something similar, so it shouldn't have been that easy to pick out Zen. The Kyouga kept on going to a higher, plateau-like area. He wanted a larger arena of sorts, if he was going to fight. This was about the highest flat area in the Itami range, it would seem... a forty-meter-wide plateau. Zen remembered that Dengen used to come up here all the time...

Takumi followed Zen up the mountain as he yawned he stretched and said "I have been needing a good spar lately how about you Zen". He flashed a smile then ran up to the top and jumped on a rock before saying "I think this fight will actually be fun for me". He jumped and did a front flip before landing on his feet. And turning to Zen and saying "i have been looking forward to this for a while". He said smiling.

Hmm... this was good. That Takumi had been eager to spar....it showed a desire for improvement in the next generation....WAIT NO

What was he doing referring to Takumi as the 'next generation'....perhaps Zen was getting really venerable...too fast for his own taste, really. He was to train with Arashi soon...hopefully that would do something nice for his rather old bones....

Zen supposed he would officially commence their spar. "Get ready..."

The Kyouga entered a combat stance, and waited for his opponent to make the first move.

Taku jumped over to the other side as he said "Oh yeah im ready". Taku then got into position to fight. Taku knew Zen used mirrors to fight. Taku did not like those mirrors at all they could completely screw him if he got close or if he stayed away. Taku needed to save his energy to he did his signature move he put one hand up in a half tiger and the other ht e same way in front of his face. He opened his mouth causing fog to spill forth and cover the field. As taku faded he said "Your turn Zen".

Great. Absolutely wonderful. Zen loved this jutsu, adored it to no end. The Hidden Mist technique.... despicable. The jutsu that so obscured his vision.... it was not exactly his cup of tea. "Oh, come now, Takumi. I thought you'd actually matured when you did so well as to get a promotion. Show me something different....or you'll never stand a chance." Zen thrust out his hand, and a gale was brought forth. The same solution to the same problem.... this was going to get on Zen's nerves if Taku was going to be same-old. He kept the wind going, for good measure; sweep all of the mist away. Zen then made hand seals for his clan's cornerstone jutsu. Mirrors would spiral into existence around him....and immediately stick to his body. A clone would form from these mirrors, solidifying and giving off the same light signature as Zen. Two versus one....wouldn't this be interesting?

Takumi knew Zen would do this Taku laughed a bit as he jumped under ground to avoid the wind. But instead of staying under ground he jumped back up. Taku smiled a bit and said "Same old Zen". Taku then made a few hand signs ending with the snake sign. After a few moments taku's arm's began to change and alter and began to look more like branches until his arm's were long sharp sticks. He looked back at Zen and said with a sly smile "You wanted to see something new".

Oh. Oh, my. This was a new trick....so he was advanced enough to use Wood Release now? This spar would surely be a treat. As Taku morphed his arms into...spears of wood?---Zen would get a weapon of his own. Forming a hand seal, his clone would brandish solidified beams of light. It rushed at Takumi with enhanced speed, courtesy of Zen himself. The clone would perform a combo, three culminating horizontal hits. Each 'sword' of light would phase through Takumi after it hit---at least, he hoped they hit---and would allow the clone to smoothly perform a combo before backing off again. Zen himself would wait for Takumi to do something...he needed to test out a new jutsu.

"Not good" Taku thought as Zen and his clone flew at him at great speed. The only thing he could do was attempt to block the blades of light. He blocked the first volley of hits then the second. But the third hit smacked him in the ribs causing him to cough some blood. but to his amazement after it hit it went through him. Taku jumped back and looked at Zen and said "This will be fun". He then put his hands back up and got into a defensive stance. He was ready for Zen's Attack whatever it would be.

All right...if he wouldn't go on the offensive, then Zen would have to take the initiative. Simply by Takumi's looking at Zen, he would be trapped in a Genjutsu. Nothing severely debilitating... it would prevent Taku from seeing Zen approach him. Which was a very good thing. Both his clone and him, expecting to be masked by the illusion, ran up to Takumi. Right when they were in attacking range, Zen 'detonated' the Genjutsu. If Takumi hadn't noticed anything---he wasn't a Genjutsu specialist, it would be hard to combat a user of Zen's calibre---he would be stunned. Ninja arts would be out of the question.

And so, expecting his illusion to work, Zen proceeded with his assault. He and his clone aimed a flurry of spinning slashes at Takumi, spinning around him themselves as they attacked.

Taku watched Zen closely...but he did not move then all of a sudden Zen burst into sparkles. Taku knew something was up but before he could do anything the first hit smacked him in the side opposite of his hurt ribs. Hr turned to see Zen and his clone attacking him. Taku pulled his arms up and blocked the other two strikes. And then jumped back and started coughing. He got his breath back and said to Zen "Dang Zen that was pretty good". He then did a back flip and stood thinking about what just happened. "Was that teleportation or something else." Takumi needed to know so he stood back but he watched around Zen this time not taking any unneeded risks. He then yelled and said "Alright Zen im ready".

"Dang, Zen, that was pretty good! Was that teleportation, or something else?" Zen snickered. "Oh, no. That was a simple illusion I wanted to try out. This, my good sir..." Kousoku no Jutsu! Zen then focused chakra to his feet in an instant, and gave himself a speed boost. He moved at speeds that were untraceable by all but the most trained eyes, seemingly vanishing as the propulsion let out a flash of light. He moved to Takumi's back, then saying, "This is teleportation." Which, of course it wasn't, but it sure looked like it to most people. His clone had also received the speed boost, and Zen proceeded to attack once more. This time, a five-hit combo with the solidified light-beams; then, Zen would unleash a rapid-fire of projectiles of the same light at Takumi. He wasn't going to get away with not doing anything...Zen had learned. He couldn't always be passive.

Zen denied that it was teleportation then he looked as if he was focusing his chakra then *poof* Zen flashed taku knew that was not teleportation but Taku could not follow Zen's movement's the next thing he knows Zen was behind him about to smack him with those DANG swords again. Taku was tired of this. He blocked 3 of the 5 shots the other 2 grazing him and giving him some slight cuts. Just when he thought it was over he saw Zen shoot light shots at him. Not this time Takumi raised his arm's and shot shards of wood at the light destroying them both. Taku was ready to attack. Taku ran at Zen then just before hitting him he jumped and swung his right arm at the Zen clone's head. If it missed his left would hit him in the leg.

All right.... now Taku was retaliating. A bit late in the battle to do so, but...it was something. And he was clever; he had waited until Zen and his clone commenced their attack to make his counter. Zen quickly brought his hand to his mouth; he knew he would have to stall Takumi. His clone hadn't recovered from that blow to the head...and that wasn't good. If another blow landed on it, well...one-on-one. Which wouldn't be bad, in the current state of things....

Zen ran at all the speed a Jounin could muster. Approaching Takumi, he raised one finger so the tip was just below his mouth; then, he focused his chakra. This would be rich....time to bluff. He made the necessary hand seals--ironically, the same ones for the jutsu he was faking--and brought his finger to his mouth as he said, "Katon! Gokakyuu no Jutsu!" He drew in a breath on the last syllable of 'jutsu'.... and exhaled fiercely. What came out was a stream of orangish red. Perfect. Thousands of tiny balls of light, at this color....well, it looked quite similar. Only thing was, there was no heat. But hopefully it would be enough to keep Takumi on his toes... Zen dispersed his clone, and began a new jutsu with the mirrors he released. This place was about to become dangerous for Taku.... Mirror Mine Jutsu.

Yep. A literal minefield....all of the 'fireflies' would float around the battlefield after he blew them. They in themselves were harmless...but eight of them had a nasty surprise in them, deadly if Zen hadn't toned them down: Explosive mirrors. Which meant that he would probably have his guard down... If Taku got close, he could just move an explosion towards him. He needed to end this...he had not acted in a very prudent fashion in this battle.

"The heck Fire style" Taku thought as Zen yelled taku did not like the idea of zen spitting fire at him. So taku did what he did not want to do. He released his wood jutsu. His sticks fell to the ground and clattered as the hit the dirt. Takumi then smiled as he picked up the two sticks. Holding them like two makeshift swords. Taku put the sticks in a X defense and waited. Taku needed to find a way around those light's. Taku yelled at Zen "Nice one this will take some getting around". Taku then tossed his sticks up in the air and made some hand signs. "ha if that is fire style this will take care of it" Then he shot a spray of water at the orbs.

Hmm. A Water Release technique....logical. But a waste nonetheless....the water, though forceful, simply sprayed through the mass of light that Zen had masqueraded as a fireball. He activated another jutsu...all of that water would be useless even against a fireball. "Gale of Severance!"
The wind, which he let run instead of giving additional effects, would deflect or otherwise turn the water away; it may have been an impressive amount otherwise, but by spraying it out, Taku removed its weight factor. Simple solution; this jutsu might have been one of the best jutsu he had in his arsenal, despite it being a Genin-level jutsu.

He cast a Genjutsu on Takumi; nearly all of his fireflies would serve as a trigger. Now....he just had to dodge two, three attacks.

Taku saw Zen blow his water back but not before he saw his water go through the orbs. "Hmm i suspected that was not fire style". Then taku felt different. Nothing bad but just odd. So then he ran toward Zen ready to attack just before he punched him he dove under ground.

Okay...so Taku was going to play that game. He feinted a punch, but then disappeared underground. His Decapitation technique, no doubt. Another technique he just looooved.

Zen began focusing chakra to his feet, and made several hand seals. He wouldn't be caught off guard by this again... He activated the Henzai Han'i technique, and was on his guard. The instant he saw (easy with his six mirrors giving him 360 vision) or felt Takumi, he would use his technique. He wouldn't let the Chuunin get an edge on him; conversely, he would use the Kousoku technique to move behind Taku. The Genjutsu would give Zen an additional edge; if Taku fully surfaced, he would bombard him with a barrage of Ethereal Blade blows. If Taku showed to be a threat, he'd use some technique to end it.

Taku knew Zen well enough to know that zen would have plan for when he resurfaced. So taku was pulling out all the stops. Taku made a plan he got directly under Zen but instead of using the decapitation technique he simlpy touched the ground. Turning all the earth below Zen in a 20 foot radius into Quick sand. Then taku quickly got out of the range of the quick sand. And awaited Zen's Sinking.

Too bad...the Kousoku-Jutsu let Zen slide effortlessly over the ground, neutralizing the threat of sinking. That is strike one.

Kai! Release! Kanashibari no Jutsu!"

Game, set, match. Zen would use his Genjutsu to shock Taku by knocking him out for a few seconds...and then paralyze him when he regained consciousness.

This was basically it...Taku was nearing the end of his rope, it would not end well if he spent any more chakra. Zen was getting there, too, though...

This is bad taku's head began to pound as he got out of the ground. Takumi could barley see his head felt like it would pop. As he got out of the ground he passed out from the pain. When he woke up it felt like he had steel ropes around him. Taku took a breath and said "Alright Zen you win". Taku then sat back with his arms pinned and watched the clouds go by. "This was fun huh". Taku then poped back up with a smile.

Haah...it felt good to fight. Felt better to win.

Overall, though, Zen was just glad that Iwa had powerful shinobi such as himself and Takumi to protect it. He was not above commending others' skills, especially in battle...

Zen started his descent down the mountain. He was ready for a good soak in the hot springs, maybe a nap....that battle had taken a lot out of him.

"Props to you, Takumi. A very good effort. But now you know what it's like to fight me when I'm not holding back." Which of course implied that he was, in their last battle.
