Morning time and the rooster crowed, the repressed sun from the nearby window struggled to fight past the mists of the city. Groaning and stretching to the heavens her muscles tensed and she became more and more aware of her surroundings. Her vision becoming clearer she looked over at the clock at her bedside which was little more than a rudimentary sundial. pointing at a scrawling on the desk it sat next to indicating it was about 5am. Solstice liked mornings like this, she knew she had stuff to do, but her early wake up times meant that the morning had some time for relaxing and taking things slowly.

Rising up out of bed she headed down stairs still in her underwear, flipped the stove on and moved to the fridge allowing the stove to warm up. Taking four eggs some bacon, ramen noodles and several uncooked wantons she moved to the kitchen bench. grabbing a pot and filling it with water she bought it to a boil and threw in the cookables with some leeks, as well as putting the bacon and eggs in the now simmering pan. No more than fifteen minutes later and some careful preparation breakfast was served, one for her, and one for her mother. Who would be down soon to set up shop.

As the food hit her lips she sighed contently, spending some time enjoying her meal and furthering her relationship with food. One final prayer to her ancestors and she got changed into her clothing and headed out the door into the cold of the morning at about 7am, flipping the open sign around on her way out.

Today however was not going to be the average day, she was tasked with helping out around the academy. Which seemed an easy enough task in of itself. Though the scope of which she had potentially underestimated. Reaching the destination of her task she walked into class 1b and entered slowly bowing before entering the classroom. Aisu, Solstice-Ayakashi reporting for work sir.

She said looking up to the instructor of the lesson. The kids were dead silent, pencils to paper and working on what seemed to be some sort of exam. The tutor moved forward and told her to ensure that there is no cheating or if any questions would ask she would handle them. The Tutor had another class he had to attend due to a sickness in the staff and needed to bring on a reliever, they had twenty two minutes to complete the test and she was also tasked with collecting, organising and marking the scores appropriately.

Nodding, Solstice did not address the class, but stood in front of them and smiled to the tutor as he left the classroom. Looking back to the students and catching a couple of inquisitive glances she smiled back at them, which pressured them back to their paper.

Ten minutes passed without incident as several kids moved to the front of the class silently to hand in their paper, taking them and allowing them to leave the class, they ran out the door quickly to their freedom. Sitting down and looking over the paper, she remembered this one. one hundred questions all multiple choice... now she knew why she was doing this paper, she had a feeling the tutor just wanted to dodge the paperwork. She smiled awkwardly at the potential realization of the plot at hand.

going through with a separate pencil she marked the right answers onto a separate sheet. Rapidly moving through each students paper she could almost remember the sequence after the first few papers. Hours past and she marked the last one, looking up as the tutor walked into the room, asking if the marking is coming along well enough.

Oh, I'm done sir... She spoke lightly lifting the papers up and patting them all into a single neat pile. marked and ordered first into pass and fail and then into alphabetical order by sir-name in each pile The tutor smiled, slightly surprised.

Good job, well, you better head off home, and thanks for the help. I called on you because i remember you perfected a lot of these tests when you were a kid. Still the ever-present bookworm?

No problem, feel free to call on me again if you need this kinda stuff done, it was kinda fun, and yes, I still am, but i have other things getting in the way now. Like training. So, I guess I'll see you later.

Taking to the window as an easy point of exit, the tutor thanking her again and assuring her that knowing that she 'would' be called on again. She leapt out and began to walk her way home in the midday sun. It was a nice day, if you didn't mind the lack of wind and the moist nature of the air. But such was this city...

it was time for lunch.
