Mission:

It was dark and cold outside, clouds covering most of the moon that had taken on the color of crimson red. Without really knowing what was going on Fuyuko ran through the familiar streets. The streets weren’t lit by lanterns and the like. No they got their red, orange and yellowish looks from the flames that were spread all over the place. Buildings ablaze, and slowly crumbling down to the ground as the foundation crumbled away and turned to ash. The whole scene left her extremely confused. Wanting to find out more she kept on running through the sea of flames that surrounded her. The moon that was partially blocked out by clouds was instead replaced by the smoke that rose from the fire. Darkening the streets she was running through.

She took a step around the corner when… The dream ended as she shot up straight in her bed. Sweat slowly dripping down her back as she took a couple of seconds to look around the room and get her bearings again. She was back in Takao’s room, back in Konoha. Lifting her right hand covering her right eye as her head rested in her palm. Her eye ached but she was unsure why. “What was that all about?” she spoke softly but for no one else but herself to hear. The room was empty. Takao had already left the bed and presumably was already back hard at work. While she was the one that had to disappear most often while they were in the mist, now it was his turn to go back to work.

Having recovered a bit from the shock she looked around the room looking for the clock. It had only been a handful of hours since she had gotten back from her late night mission and headed into bed. She let herself fall back onto the bed that felt rather empty. Her arms spread out beside her as she stared against the ceiling. By now it had been a couple of days since she arrived in the hidden leaf and stayed in Takao’s house. However it was hard to feel at home in this foreign country, house or room. It simply wasn’t her place. It was impossible for her to predict that things would turn out this way. She had only slept outside of the mist village a handful of times, once during a mission that took place in the lightning country. However since she was on a mission at the time she wasn’t expecting much or a good sleep anyway, because her body was on high alert. The other times were on her travel together with Takao towards the hidden leaf, where she was just too excited too get a proper sleep. So not sleeping well for an extended period of time was something that was unfamiliar terrain for her.

There was no point on laying on the bed and wonder about the vague dream or how her sleeping schedule hadn’t been the best as of late. So without further ado she rolled straight out of bed and got herself dressed. There wasn’t much for her to do for the rest of the day. The sun had only just risen above the horizon which meant she had an entire day ahead of herself before herself and Kirei would investigate a group of people. Without having really anything to do until then Fuyuko just slowly slaved through the day.

As dusk started to arrive Fuyuko prepared herself for her leave. With her ANBU gear hidden underneath a big poncho and the hood hiding the mask she’s wearing she left the house and headed for the southern gate that left Konoha.

In a tree not far from the gate Fuyuko sat down on a sturdy branch awaiting the arrival of her partner for the night. When her companion for the night would show up in her field of view she’d approach them, or if they appeared next to her, regardless of which sequence happened she’d quickly start the conversation. “There isn’t too much time to waste before they start, lets talk on the move.” If she noticed they were ready, she would head in the direction they were going. “So there is this small community not far to the west of this gate, I came across of it when I was first learning the layout of the village. They’re somewhat… not too happy about the village and some of its latest changes. Honestly I didn’t pay too much attention to the context of the speech, however in the middle of that speech someone was whispering to someone else about things that was interested in. I didn’t really get much of the information the first time because I dropped in late on the conversation. There is however another speech going to happen tonight and I’m hoping that those people will show up again and have another conversation hidden in the midst of it. That’s basically the gist of it all, got any questions?

"Shit! Fuck!"

Scrambling through a nest of sheets and pillows, the Uchiha's hands clawed to find purchase and pull his body from the confines of his slumber. Folds of black peeled away into shades of grey before finally, Kirei's crown of golden hair permeated the moonlit chamber of his bedroom and he took in a breath of crisp, late autumn air. Shaking off the fetters of sleep, the Uchiha opened his eyes, trailing red with the pooled chakra of his Sharingan, unwilling still, after all these years, to relinquish sight back to Kirei. Stumbling forward, bare knees rushing along the floor, Kirei's fingers clutched at his clothing, and he stood, dancing clumsily in an attempt to thread his limbs into the layers of his ANBU uniform. Pulling his head through the neck of his flak jacket, Kirei peered down, patting himself swiftly to check the fastening of his ninja tools before scooping the shroud of his ROOT cloak from the floor and departing with the shoal in tow.

Kirei couldn't remember the last time he had been so late, the sun already sunk hours ago beneath the horizon, and doubtless, Fuyuko had been waiting for some time. Still fumbling with the cloak as he ascended, Kirei finally found himself fully dressed by the time he'd cleared several rooftops with his stride, leaping between them now while elevating the hood around the edges of his ANBU mask, which their missive implored him to wear. The night had been long, and the trek home fraught with distractions as Kirei made his way into the village well after the academy began their morning classes. In the midst of changing from his uniform for daytime patrols, the young Uchiha's body had given out, collapsing into a heap atop his bed. The patrol route would be forgiven, with plenty of excess shinobi out in force in the wake of international stability concerns. Already fuzzy from exhaustion, the Uchiha climbed toward the southernmost wall of the Hidden Leaf, Sharingan picking out the silhouette of Fuyuko's chakra from afar as his fingers slipped across the peak of the wall before hoisting Kirei's body over in a single motion.

The vault would leave Kirei plummeting toward the earth, which quivered for a second before a helix of soil and stones, entwined with the will of Kirei's chakra, rose to meet his feet and drifted away, allowing the agent to slide gracefully toward the treeline, leaving motes of dust trailing away behind him. Hastily, Kirei cleared the distance toward their meeting point, feet silently hopping from branch to branch, careful dips and sudden shifts of direction sought not to disturb the environment as the Uchiha closed in. Predictably, Fuyuko would be met with the familiar red glare of Kirei's Sharingan if she chose to face him, and he would look away if their eyes met, staring forward as he spoke.

"Sorry! I'm soooo late, aren't I?"

Dejected, came the Uchiha's greeting, but were it not for the mask, Fuyuko would have seen the blonde's trademark stupid grin as he settled beside her on the branch, thumbing through the weapons strung against his hip. Clearly more focused than her male counterpart, Fuyuko's brief came as the pair would launch away from their perch, Kirei trailing just behind his partner to follow her directions, nodding along as she spoke. Relieved at the nature of their excursion, Kirei let out a loud exhale to punctuate the end of his friend's speech. Without delay, the Uchiha's left hand rose to form a seal as they ran, chakra pouring from his body through the trees to map their surroundings and help him feel at ease, if the pair could slip in and out while gathering information unnoticed, the night would be a complete success.

"Alright, I can handle reconnaissance. I got promoted for being a scout, ya know? Lead the way, and tell me where you need me. It's your mission, so you're in command."

Fuyuko fiddled with her fingers as the sun continued its descend towards the horizon. Slowly but surely hiding behind the curve of the planet. As less of the sun became visible the sky slowly turned colors. From a sky that was once a bright blue was turning more orange as the second passed by. With so much time passing by she started to wonder if Kirei was ever going to show up. With her growing more bored out of her mind the closing in Uchiha went completely unnoticed until they were right beside her. It snapped her out of her trance and to make sure Kirei didn’t notice it she instantly went ahead and debriefed him as they made their way over to their destination.

Oh no, I wasn’t aware of that. You must really be good at that then.” She said with a praising voice. “There shouldn’t be too much reconnaissance at where we are going now. That might change if we find some information. Basically, all we have to do is just blend into the crowd and keep our ears open. I don’t specifically know what we’re trying to find either, but it’s definitely something you wouldn’t want other people to find out that isn’t in on it. So perhaps your reconnaissance could still come in handy, able to spot the people that are out of place with it.

The small village came within their view and with it, Fuyuko raised her pace a bit. She had been waiting on Kirei for a long time and with it, they may have lost their opportunity to learn more about whatever it was they were looking for. It somewhat annoyed her that he was so late and that it could have cost them an opportunity to learn more about it. At the same time, it was entirely possible that there was no conversation going to take place at all today and they were scouting for no reason. Above all, it bothered her that she didn’t know what they were looking for. It was like searching for a needle in a haystack.

As they landed near the edge of the village the voice of a man could be heard. Fuyuko couldn’t make out what was being said, but she was certain that the speech had already started. “It appears that the speech has already started. Mingle yourself into the crowd or something else and try to find out more information.” Those were the words she spoke as she parted from him and slowly made her way to the central fountain of the village. It was the same man preaching to the villagers again. Misguided words about how they were treated and how they deserved more. It quite frankly felt astonishing to her how easily the minds of people could be swayed at time. Almost as if he was gently tugging on the strings attached to ones heart to inspire a certain reaction. As if he was a snake within the society. There wasn’t too much to do about it though. People were entitled to their own opinions and also had the right to share those with others, even if they were fundamentally flawed.

She tried her best to zone out the words spoken by the preacher and instead listen to the other things that were going on. It would’ve been nice if she was better at it or perhaps had a technique that could aid her in being capable of enhancing her hearing capabilities. Luckily Kirei was here to help her, which released somewhat of a burden. Despite that, she wasn’t going to let herself be outdone.

Leaping through the canopy, Fire Country appeared as a sea of roaring flames, autumn leaves rising and falling through branches drained brittle through the closing winter frost. Sun falling, the intensity of their infinite amber ocean rose to a crescendo, causing the Uchiha to duck his trajectory beneath those leaves, seeking solace from the glistening array of sunset that stung his weary Sharingan. Sparse shadows beneath the branches blended well with the Uchiha's young face, concealing concentric rings of deep darkness beneath his eyes, masquerading the bloodshot sclera by drawing focus deeper into those crimson irises, spinning with tragic tomoe. Kirei moved as casually as possible, reflexively hiding his reasoning as to descent beneath the canopy, trained to cover his weaknesses without revealing them the Uchiha remained with a slight smile on his face as he shook his head free of daydreams to pay attention to the task at hand.

Nodding along, Kirei's jovial grin and relaxed demeanor drained slightly as the pair sped toward the entrance to the village which had become their destination. Taking cues from Fuyuko, the Uchiha sobered his outlook, focusing his Sharingan across the crowds, memorizing the ebb and flow of chakra which emanated from the village, taking note of the patterns which spun through each tenketsu in case he found himself tracking soon. With an affirmative gesture, the Uchiha descended from the trees, a cloud of smoke dispersing from his body as his right arm raised to form a half-handed seal. By the time Kirei parted the veil of his jutsu, his personage would change, tatters of black clothes stained with dried blood and dirt, short cropped black hair and a pair of charcoal eyes. He would not glance back toward Fuyuko, and the grasp of her Senjutsu affinity would find itself lapping at a new chakra signature, alluding to the advanced nature of Kirei's transformation, no mere academy technique at work.

Hidden in a lie, Kirei felt at home again. No stranger to the art of espionage, the ROOT Agent made his way through the rabble, shoulder bumping through onlookers who scowled and were met with deadly stares in response. From afar, if his partner were watching, she would see the Uchiha's body language change profoundly, as if with the transformation, he had become a new individual. Unskilled in combat, the Uchiha was nonetheless known for his skill as a shinobi infiltrator, scout, and spy, owing to his years of training as an agent of ROOT, but also his cover in the ANBU. Words of revolution met the Uchiha's ears, a man drew attention to the state of things, with nations claws closing around each others' throats, military presence rising throughout the Fire Nation, and a display of opulence in the Chunin Exams which, he postured, highlighted the inequality of the shinobi world. Whispers flew through crowded lips, exchanging ideas between them, drowning out the nearby sound of wind and the footsteps of those who wandered by, ignoring the sermon. Close enough to mingle with the crowds, Kirei could hear the various rumors circling, and how this man was able to stir primal feelings in the hearts of those who surrounded him, but another string of voices gave the Uchiha reason to pause.

"These crazies are rallying at Konoha's southern gate after this."

"You mean?"

"The Village should be preoccupied with the protest, we can move everything tonight. These loons cry about oppression and keep the ANBU busy while we can finally slip our haul out from that fucking warehouse on Tobirama River."

Draining away, the Uchiha allowed the crowd to write and absorb him, vanishing into the masses like a ghost before emerging at its flank, transformed eyes catching Fuyuko's observant gaze and gesturing her back toward the treeline. Careful to embark away from prying eyes, Kirei allowed his transformation to wane and would thoughtfully loop his way around the treeline until he could meet his partner out of sight.

"The crowd there is meeting before a protest they have back toward the Village tonight, that all seemed pretty normal, ya know? But get this, there are some guys on the far side of that crowd talking about this protest being the perfect distraction to move something from a warehouse on Tobirama River tonight. I dunno what they're talking about but if someone's moving stolen goods through Fire Country, that might be what you're looking for, right Fuyuko?"

Ready to depart on Fuyuko's order, Kirei's report came with deliberate cadence, annunciation clear and direct as if reporting to a superior. The Fox Sage would quickly tell Kirei as an experienced scout, but something shook in the back of Kirei's throat, a lingering hesitation beneath the surface of his words. He would listen to whatever reply came, and then happily be off toward the river, where they would follow its curves into the unknown.

Watching Kirei transform himself after she gave the command for him to mix himself in the crowd was something she could could definitely learn from. It was that her ties with nature allowed her to observe his transformatino that happened underneath the surface, but otherwise she too would be incapable of telling the new Kirei apart from the one she had just been with. Not only was his signature completely different, his appearance was very different. Body language changed and the rest of the circus that one could conceivably consider part of disguising oneself took place. It made her feel a bit incompetent, she too was part of ANBU, why did she not have such a technique? She shook her head and put the thoughts to the side. It was not the time to be caught in admiration, there was a job to be done and it required her full attention.
Having initially trailed where Kirei headed off to to blend with the crowd, she knew where not to go herself. By spreading out they could cover a larger area which would hopefully allow for them to find what they were looking for.
Despite her best efforts to find useful information and to not get distracted too much about the speech that was taking place, Fuyuko was incapable of finding information that could possibly help her case. Be it because of how she was down to her core or simply because she was a woman, most of the information she tried to pick up was just being drowned out by the ludicrous speech. Sure, there were some genuine and true concerns that the man was trying to address, but it was mostly covered by tainted words. A virus seeping in through the ears and infecting the minds of people, riling people needlessly up, and creating unnecessary complications for the village.
Time went on and on, but all that she got was more information about their course of action for the night. If nothing came out of their search party she would head back to the village before the crowd could reach it to inform the Konoha police about what would happen. It was annoying and it frustrated her that she got no information and had to hear the man keep on spewing nonsense. However, her peering eyes spotted the person that Kirei had transformed into who singled her to come to the side. Wiggling her way back out of the crowd and trailing Kirei back to the tree line from which they came to see what was up.
Patiently Fuyuko listened as she received the information that Kirei had gathered, part of it was known to her as well, however unlike her, he did find a possible lead on what they were looking for. She felt jealous, it was her project, but he was the one coming with results, yet he treated her like she was a superior of sorts, whilst they were completely equal in rank. If that were the case, it was now up to her to make a decision on how to proceed. The information was promising but it was still very vague. It had some merit to it, but could they just blindly go in on it. Fuyuko pondered on it for a bit. But it were the words that were carried by the wind that made her seal the deal. They were going to investigate the warehouses along the Tobirama River, if only it was for her to no longer having to listen to the chants.
"It's as good as any lead at the moment, we might as well investigate it." She replied with a monotone voice as she gazed off in the direction in which they would be headed. Whilst staring off in the distance she recalled what had sparked the investigation in the first place. Clenching her fist as the words ring inside of her head again. "Lets...." she paused for a brief moment to calm her feelings. Her voice was noticeably shaken, however the next words came out cold as ice again and her clenching fist was gone. "Lets go."
Fuyuko was completely silent for their journey towards the warehouses. It wasn't until they arrived at the ground of operations that she spoke again. "Well... I guess we'll just have to carefully search from here and figure out more. If you start at the southern end, I'll start at the opposite end, we'll meet in the middle?" If Kirei had no more complaints she would jump off. Just as she was about to jump off she said something aloud quickly. "Be careful, we don't know what we might be getting ourselves into." Leaving him no time to reply, she jumped off towards the first warehouse she was going to scout.

Off again, the pair slinked away from peripheral firelight, vanishing into the dusk with any remnants of day. Gone were the last waning lights trickling back behind dark clouds as the silent duo of shinobi plummeted toward the river's edge. Kirei's reply came in the form of a quiet affirmation, and trailing Fuyuko, the pair would glide free of the view of the settlement along the treeline before it broke toward the riverbank. Beneath his cloak, the Uchiha's fingers thrummed through cords of wire which linked together his tools, kunai, and shuriken strung together in wreaths, hidden beneath those ebon folds, and Kuon who sat at his hip in wait to defend its master. What can't have been more than minutes stretched out in the quiet to hours, and Kirei shook his head free, gold mane collapsing with a sigh of relief as lights broke through the forest.

From their vantage point, Kirei could watch the slithering guardians who prowled the warehouse perimeter as if the sun had been shining from above, Sharingan unphased by the trees or shadows as it twitched through quivering veils of chakra to identify each who might become an impasse. Fuyuko's instructions were simple enough, and Kirei affirmed them with a gesture, unwilling to risk revealing themselves even as the shinobi parted from the trees, barrelling in opposite directions, Leaf to the south, Mist the north. Kirei's parting words would be a whisper of good fortune to his partner before the southern flank of this warehouse would become his target. Body becoming shadow as his foot touched down, the Uchiha would vanish to a watch obscured from the guards, slithering through the ample dark.

With two guards patrolling the rear door alone, and several more dotted throughout the surrounding trees, including two pairs either side of the main structure, whatever had been stored in this warehouse was making the Uchiha more and more curious by the minute. Sharingan piercing through the sheets of steel and brass, he could spy chakra beating faintly in pockets throughout the structure, causing him to grimace at the possibilities. Wasting no further time, the Uchiha crept through his shroud before rising in an inky burst from blackness with hands pressing together tightly before parting to reveal a candle, the peculiar Genjutsu being lit with the Uchiha's Katon and set to burn in the undergrowth. With no danger of catching the trees alight, the illusion's smoke would expand, filling the night with a hazy warmth. In the trees' embrace, the two furthermost patrols would find themselves yawning, eyelids pulled taut by strings of Genjutsu smoke, before finding refuge in the comfort of sleep, collapsing in the bush with little fanfare as the Uchiha made his approach. Leaving one side of the additional patrols to Fuyuko, the ANBU made his way east, skulking through the surrounding trees and out with silent footsteps.

Upper body still, the Uchiha moved as predator, stalking behind the pair of guards, unfurling a string of cloth between his hands and pulling it together between them. Dancing through the grass, Kirei would dart for the leftmost guard, slipping forward and twisting his body to collide back-to-back, sending a pulse of chakra from his body which withdrew a pair of glassy eyes as he stumbled forward into sleep. Leaping forward with his assailing the mouth of the second guard, shinobi quickness would overcome, Kirei's Sharingan would twirl hypnotically, lulling another victim into the haze of Genjutsu and allowing the Uchiha to maneuver freely and meet his partner on the opposite side. By now, the candle lit within the treeline had woven its illusion throughout the southern flank, the incense burning long enough to keep this as a reliable escape route. Skipping around the corner to the western side where he and Fuyuko would meet, the Uchiha would see whatever remained of her excursion before giving her a confident nod to assure her of the completion of his task, and swiftly approach. If the other shinobi caught his eyes, Kirei would seek to trigger a Genjutsu between them which they could use to speak, harmless illusory prowess would save them time and risk, and if enchanted, the pair would remain standing, world around them shivering still and frozen in time. Otherwise, the Uchiha would speak low, and relay his information.

"There's men in and outside, and I can see through the walls there are some weird chakra signatures. I don't like the look of any of this. I have a Genjutsu to the south, which means we can escape that way if something goes wrong."

Above the treeline, several miles toward the horizon, a spark of red and gold would illuminate the darkened sky, light glossing over stars as trails of matching smoke fell from its apex. Fuyuko would doubtless see the Uchiha's posture change, stiffening toward the fire before turning back to her, voice quiet but urgent.

"That's an ANBU riot signal. Be careful, I'll be back soon, and we'll get to the bottom of this."

A short small smile appeared on her face from the words that were said when the two parted and started their patrol around the perimeter. With the warehouses standing against the riverbank with a small dock the pair had to secure the surroundings on the west and the perimeter itself, being on the south-western of the complex and Kirei starting on the southern end, Fuyuko too it upon herself to clear the western outer area first. It was going to be a tad difficult for her to accomplish the silencing of the guards that found themselves on the grounds. While she was a shinobi, taking out targets in Silence wasn't her forte. She would have to rely on the simple tactics of old, choking them until they would faint. It wasn't the fastest approach either so in order to speed up the process a bit she weaved a couple of signs and made a clone of herself again. And so herself and her clone tag teamed through the trees silently.
One after the other guard was taking out without a sound. Or at the very least so little sound that it did not alert any of the other guards and being in a pair allowed her to take out pair of guards as well. Denying them the chance to alert any of the other guards that were present around them. Having finally reached the northern side of warehouses Fuyuko took a moment to reflect on the situation they found themselves in. When she took off to scout the surroundings, there weren't that many guards, but the closer they go to the northern side, the closer they got to the village, the more guards appeared. The place they found themselves in may or may not have to do with the things she had heard a couple of days prior, but one thing was certain, something was still being hidden. There was something here that the people don't want the public to find out about.
Having caught her breath a bit and finished processing the thoughts that popped into her mind she leaped out of the tree line and onto the ground, using the shadows of the buildings to her advantage to keep her cover. Surprisingly there was almost no one at the complex itself, at least no on the outside. Fuyuko darted around the place from shadow to shadow, but no one to be found, except for her other partner in crime and the guards they had already taken down. There wasn't one particular thing that she wanted to talk about initially and instead just listened to what Kirei had to say. Her brows raised behind her mask at the mention of strange signatures, what could it mean? But before she could ask the question the two got distacted by a distant light high in the sky. Kirei recognized the signal and with it he vanished rather quickly, only leaving a couple of parting words.
It was just herself and her clone at this point that would need to do the rest of the investigation for the time being. She was fairly certain about that fact that it was just herself and the people that were inside the warehouse now. Reducing the risk of being spotted the clone dispersed itself and so there was only signature for them to find, if they were looking for those at all.
Fuyuko quietly scaled the side of the warehouse towards the top in search for a possible open roof window. Unfortunately there was no such window, but that wouldn't stop the kunoichi from attempting to break into the building. Her finger running through the loop of her kunai, spinning it a couple of time round before holding it properly as she started to pry the window open. After a bit of fiddling the window let loose, slowly raising it and letting her slip inside the building. Low profile Fuyuko moved around the beams that supported the roof of the building. Workers below moved about minding their own business, she successfully managed to enter without triggering any sort of alarm or personal.
Watchful eyes gazed upon the floor below. The place was filled to the brim with boxes of varying sizes with half a dozen people at least walking between them moving them around. It would be hard to start her investigation there first, if she were caught whilst searching through the boxes there she wouldn't know what went on in the other rooms inside the warehouse. With that in mind she decided it was best to first look through the other rooms. Her feet stuck to the beams as if they were glued on them she dropped herself to the bottom of the beam and ran across them to a corner from where she could drop down to the ground.
Silently the girl moved throughout the building. Slipping through the doors and hallways without a sound. Most of the building was rather uninteresting, a cafeteria, locker room, a reception. Nothing really seemed out of the ordinary. Fuyuko grew a bit irritated whilst shifting through some documents in what was probably the managers or directors rooms. Nothing really stood out as out of the ordinary, only the amount of guards that were present were something that could be considered abnormal. Annoyed she put the stack of papers back from where they came and headed back out of the room. Just before she left the room she caught something in the corner of her eye. She walked over to a painting that was hanging in the room, removed it, and flipped it around. A smile appeared behind her mask, could this be it? Could this possibly be what she had been looking for?
She grabbed the piece of paper that was stuck behind the painting. It stuck out from behind it ever so slightly. It probably would've gone unnoticed if a normal civilian had been searching the room, but it wouldn't escape the trained eye of a shinobi. Fuyuko unfolded the piece of paper revealing the text written on it. The text itself wasn't all that interesting, it could just be seen as the boss, or someone higher up the chain, sending a letter that they had to pickup their pace. However the handwritting used and the fact that it was hidden made it rather suspicious. She folded the piece of paper back up and put it one of her pockets. Now that she had searched anything but the storage space of the warehouse, it was time to investigate that.
Carefully making her way back through the building towards where she had entered. Her ear firmly planted on the door. Listening patiently to the sound waves to collided against the door to see if someone was close by or not. Through the information she gained from listening and her passive sensory range not telling her that anyone was in range she opened the door and quickly slipped back into the storage part of the warehouse.
Sneakily she moved between the piles of boxes, avoiding any of the personal that worked there. Finding her way to one of the back corners of the facility where it was least likely for her to be caught or for it to be heard that boxes were being broken open. However whilst she initially only saw about 6 people moving in between the boxes doing labor work, now that she was moving between them on the ground, her sensory range kept firing off. If she had to believe what her nature chakra was telling her, there could be upwards of a hundred people in the warehouse. It made no sense at all. Were they stalking her? Were they on to her and had just been playing with their food for a bit. Because whilst her sensory input told her one thing, her other senses were incapable of confirming that there were that many people around. She picked up the pace and ran faster in between the boxes into the corner of the warehouse.

Having visually confirmed that there was no one else in the warehouse, but those handful of people she had initially seen and the huge amount of boxes it was time to calm down a little bit. Fuyuko found herself standing in front of a rather tall box. It was laying flat on it's back, about a meter wide and deep and roughly 2 meters tall. A fear of sorts grew inside of her. Perhaps fear was the wrong choice of word. Dread could probably better the describe the feeling that was growing inside of her. The dimensions lined up and her sensory input was telling her that there was something living inside of it. She didn't want to think it, she refused her to think it, she wouldn't allow herself to think it. But she had to know.
With kunai in hand she slowly pried at the nails that kept the box shut. Slowly but surely lifting them out. Her hands trembled. The lid had come lose enough that she could pull it off and reveal what was inside, but she hesitated. She knew. Inside of her she already knew what she was going to find, but she didn't want to believe it. After a couple of seconds which felt like an eternity she decided to lift the cover anyway. There it was, one of her darkest fears right in front of her. She quickly reached out and felt for a pulse. The skin of the body was cold to the touch, but a pulse was definitely present in their wrist.
Her conscious mind faded away, vision became a blur. A dark aura almost oozed off of Fuyuko. Slowly but surely she made her way over to where she had last seen one of the workers. Her footsteps were no longer silent. Her care for stealth and secrecy had completely faded, they weren't things she cared for anymore in this state of mind. A voice she heard calling out, but the sound that reached her ears just sounded like gibberish, she couldn't make out what they were saying at all. Slowly she turned around the corner, revealing herself to the voice that had been calling out. A tall man stood before her, victim number one.
Eyes gazed at him from behind her mask, but she wasn't capable of making out what they were trying to tell her, all she saw was a target that had to be taken care off. The silence from Fuyuko probably angered the man and he came at her, the moment he reached striking range the song of a thousand birds could be heard. Her left hand jabbed forward, piercing straight through the right side of the mans chest. Blood splattered onto her mostly white mask, accentuating it with another shade of red. The man stumbled backwards, making her now bloodstained hand slide out of his chest again, before he fell over backwards.
Fuyuko continued her walk forward, the man she had just eliminated was squirming on the ground in front of her. Not caring about his wellbeing either she just simply walked on top of them, planting her foot that would step onto the mans face extra hard, making sure that they would feel the rage that was now running through her body. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you viewed the situation, that was all she would do to that man, she knew more people were around and they to deserved to feel her wrath. As soon as her foot was firmly planted on the mans skull she broke out into a sprint. The hunt was on.
Swiftly Fuyuko ran through the building in search of the rest. One after another the small flies fell pray to the thousand birds, there was just no chance for them or opportunity for them to escape her judgment. Slowly but surely they all fell before her anger, laying down on the cold pavement waiting till deaths door would appear for them and that they could leave this realm.
As soon as her hand ran through the last person she knew was in the building the song disappeared. Instead the noise was replaced by the sound of her soft whimpers. She moved over again to another stack of boxes, this time making sure to avoid the bodies that were scattered across the floor. Breaking open box after box, each revealing wares that were probably stolen, of ancient times or people like the first box that she opened up. Seeing the bodies and sort of realizing what she had done and the place she found herself in she just collapsed to the floor. Lifting her mask so that it rested on top of her head. Now that her face was no longer covered by her mask, she covered it with the palms of her bloodstained hands and cried into them. What had she done.
