- To call the Hiru a true Clan is a misnomer. Rather the Hiru are descendants of a group of nomads that settled among the rocky crags of Mount Shumisen, among the long-destroyed and dilapidated ruins of a four-gated fortress long since having fallen into disrepair. Those that originally settled among the ruins of this fortress found peace, quiet and solitude from the outside world. Nestled securely along the border of the Land of Earth and the Land of Grass. For a time the people living there knew peace.
Shortly after making their homes and the very beginnings of what would be their community the inhabitants of Mount Shimusen, who would come to call themselves the Hiru, would come across small, oddly fleshy dark blue and black growths throughout the area. Those that touched these remnants of what was once the Chimera Technique found themselves falling sick, their bodies racked with pain, as their very DNA itself was altered and changed. Soon after it became forbidden to approach these growths and burning them wherever they were found became a common practice of the community.
Those that had been afflicted by the remnants of the Chimera Technique eventually recovered with a nonexistent mortality rate. The pain that had once assailed their bodies becoming nothing more than a nightmarish memory to be forgotten. Once again the community knew peace for a time, until the next generation was born. All told this first generation of infants born to the inhabitants of Mount Shumisen afflicted by the Chimera Technique were the first true members of what could be called the "Hiru Clan". Born with strange symbols, markings, on their palms and the inexplicable ability to devour chakra itself. Those marked by this curse were not only incapable of attuning themselves to natural energies, but found themselves incredibly sensitive to exposure to it. The Chakra that had altered their DNA being one wholly and truly unnatural.
This newfound curse, as they called it, on the community was met with fear and endeavors into how the afflicted children might possibly be 'cured' of this affliction. The once-ignored and forgotten rooms of the fortress were excavated, long-rotted and crumbling notes containing the name "Hiru" were found, as the apparent progenitor of this affliction but nothing pertaining to a cure as ever discovered.
Though it pained them greatly to do so the children, now grown to young adults and known as the 'descendants of Hiru', were cast out of the community for fear their affliction may spread to others. Despite no recorded instances of another individual 'catching' this disease while the children were growing. Fear drove them to shun these children they had raised, and so this new "Clan" dubbing themselves the "Hiru" scattered to the winds among the five great Shinobi lands.
The banishment of the original Hiru from Mount Shumisen was many, many years ago and now their progeny inherit their "curse" without exception. Some of the group, who's parents knew each other's parents, remain in contact, while others take to solidarity or even more far-flung adventures out of the Lands of Fire, Earth, Wind, Water or Lightning. Other still have attempted to return to Mount Shumisen, though they have found the community that once spawned their Clan long since abandoned and forgotten. Leaving the Hiru as the sole remnant of Mount Shumisen and those long-lost atrocities committed within it's crumbling walls. Only time will tell if they survive to outlive the very crumbling foundation itself.

Meiton (Dark Release)
Description: Appearing as ghostly blue flames Meiton can be altered in many ways similar to Katon. It's Jutsu primarily focusing on burning those subjected to it. However it is possible, for a user of great skill, to hone their Meiton into such fine Chakra that they can cut and impale others. Though the ability to give the ghostly blue flames enough solid mass to inflict blunt trauma is widely considered impossible.
Interactions: Meiton has no positive or negative interaction bonuses with other nature types and cannot gain positive or negative interaction bonuses. In addition, other nature types cannot gain positive or negative interaction bonuses with Meiton.
- Meiton Jutsu do not require hand-seals for Hiru to use.
- Due to the origin of the nature itself all Meiton Jutsu inflict Chakra Drain as per the Chakra Drain guidelines.
- Meiton users gain a +1 to a Stat of their choice for every Jutsu they have stored in their Seals.
- Members of the Hiru clan can, instead of utilizing their own chakra, utilize any Jutsu they have absorbed against their opponents. This jutsu retains all previous values from when it was stored and cannot be enhanced in any way by the Hiru. In addition the Hiru can also utilize a Jutsu they have absorbed in place of the Chakra cost for any Meiton Jutsu they wish to use so long as the Rank of the absorbed Jutsu and the Rank of the Meiton Jutsu they wish to use are the same.
- Shade Seal:
Location: Each Hiru must specify upon Character Creation which hand possesses their first Seal.
Description: The Shade Seal is a pair of diamond-shaped seals that the Hiru can come to possess. Initially a Hiru possesses only one of the Seals on one hand, though with time, training and maturity the Hiru can come to possess both Seals on both of their hands. The Shade Seal allows the Hiru, in time, to both inhale and expel Jutsu absorbed through Jutsu exposed to the ability of their Seal. Absorbing Jutsu in this way allows the Hiru to utilize said Jutsu to their own advantage. In addition, the Rank of Shade Seal dictates how often the Seal can interact with other techniques, how long it becomes dormant after use, and how many Jutsu it can store.

Concept: Clan Ability
Description: With this ability those of the Hiru Clan may absorb Jutsu of equal rank, or below, to their Seal in a cone wherever their Seal is pointed by paying an amount from their Chakra pool dependent on the level of their Seal. This ability causes no physical effect on the environment, cosmetic or otherwise. This ability is not a Jutsu and thus cannot be affected by other abilities that enhance, duplicate, copy, alter or otherwise affect or improve
Jutsu.
As the Shade Seal increases in Rank, it will gain access to the ability to store more "Jutsu Slots". These Jutsu Slots can be used to absorb any combination of Jutsu if any Rank so long as the Hiru possess at least as many Slots as the Jutsu's Rank would occupy. The number of Jutsu Slots a jutsu of a particular Rank occupies are as follows.....
- D/C-Rank: 1 Jutsu Slot
- B-Rank: 2 Just Slots
- A-Rank: 3 Jutsu Slots
- S-Rank: 4 Jutsu Slots
Other: The Shade Seal: Inhale ability cannot inhale Meiton Chakra.

The Shade Seal is still immature and unfocused. Incapable of releasing the Meiton Kekkai Genkai and only able to Inhale the weakest and simplest of Jutsu with considerable effort.
Training: Acquired upon the Hiru reaching D-Rank.
Chakra Cost: 10+Activation Cost of Jutsu attempting to be absorbed
Range: 1 Meter
Usage: At this Rank the immature Shade Seal can be used to absorb one Jutsu, and all instances of interaction of that Jutsu, before going dormant for two posts.
Storage: At this Rank the Shade Seal possesses two Jutsu Slots for storing absorbed Jutsu.C-Rank
Partly matured and now capable of releasing Meiton Jutsu. The Shade Seal can now more efficiently inhale Chakra from Jutsu and from a greater distance than before.
Training: Requires a Training Thread consisting of no less than 2,000 WC and for the Shade Seal to have Inhaled Chakra from at least one nature type.

Range: 3 Meter
Usage: At this Rank the immature Shade Seal can be used to absorb two Jutsu, and all instances of interaction of those Jutsu, before going dormant for two posts.
Storage: At this Rank the Shade Seal possesses four Jutsu Slots for storing absorbed Jutsu.B-RankNow nearing full Maturation the Hiru develops the Inhaling half of the Seal on the palm of their second hand. They still cannot, however, utilize their Meiton Jutsu from this second hand.
Training: Requires a Training Thread consisting of no less than 4,000 WC, 1,500 Ryo and for the Shade Seal to have Inhaled Chakra from at least three nature types.

Usage: At this Rank the two Shade Seals the Hiru possess now collectively share their ability to absorb Jutsu and, as a consequence, the time in which they go dormant. At this Rank the Shade Seals, regardless of which is used, can now absorb three Jutsu, and all instances of interaction of those Jutsu, before going dormant for three posts.
Storage: At this Rank the Shade Seal now possesses 5 Jutsu Slots for storing absorbed Jutsu.A-RankHaving achieved full maturation the Hiru now possesses both fully matured, complete Seals on both of their palms. Able to both inhale Chakra and expel Meiton Jutsu as the Hiru wishes. It's inefficiencies now perfected and removed and Seals are now able to draw in Chakra at even further distances.
Training: Requires a Training Thread consisting of no less than 5,500 WC, 3,000 Ryo and for the Shade Seal to have Inhaled Chakra from at least one advanced nature type.
Chakra Cost: Activation Cost of Jutsu attempting to be absorbed
Range: 8 Meters
Usage: At this Rank the two Shade Seals the Hiru possess now collectively share their ability to absorb Jutsu and, as a consequence, the time in which they go dormant. At this Rank the Shade Seals, regardless of which is used, can now absorb four Jutsu, and all instances of interaction of those Jutsu, before going dormant for three posts.
Storage: At this Rank the Shade Seal now possesses 7 Jutsu Slots for storing absorbed Jutsu.S-Rank
Perfected beyond maturation the Seals on the Hiru's hands can now reach the pinnacle of their range and inhaling capabilities.
Training: Requires a Training Thread consisting of no less than 7,500 WC, 5,000 Ryo and for the Shade Seal to have Inhaled Chakra from at least one additional advanced nature type.

Range: 12 Meters
Usage: At this Rank the two Shade Seals the Hiru possess now collectively share their ability to absorb Jutsu and, as a consequence, the time in which they go dormant. At this Rank the Shade Seals, regardless of which is used, can now absorb five Jutsu, and all instances of interaction of those Jutsu, before going dormant for two posts.
Storage: At this Rank the Shade Seal now possesses 10 Jutsu Slots for storing absorbed Jutsu.
Drawbacks
- A Hiru cannot, under any circumstances, train the Senjutsu specialization. Any Senjutsu Jutsu inhaled by their Shade Seal is treated as taking up one less Jutsu Slot (to a minimum of 1). (Meiton Sensory and Stealth techniques are treated as Senjutsu Techniques for the purposes of detecting and hiding from Senjutsu techniques and abilities.)
- Due to their fragile, unnatural DNA a Hiru can only receive a transplant through EP Prize rewards. In addition their own abilities cannot be transplanted under any circumstances.
- Being unable to properly channel natural energies, the bodies of Hiru are especially susceptible to damage from Jutsu laced with Senjutsu Chakra. As such all Hiru treat damage from Senjutsu-enhanced Jutsu as being 1 Rank higher.
- As the Hiru's own Kekkai Genkai is unnaturally linked to their bloodline it is unrelated to either base nature type a Hiru starts with and must be trained separately. A Hiru's Meiton always begins at D-Rank.
- To properly represent their fragile DNA members of the Hiru clan must take any one of the following negative SCs: Pharmacophobia; Frail; Haemophilia; Numb; High Blood Pressure.
- To properly represent their fragile DNA members of the Hiru clan must take an additional choice of one of the following negative SCs not previously chosen: Pharmacophobia; Frail; Haemophilia; Numb; High Blood Pressure.
- All Meiton Jutsu utilized by the Hiru MUST originate from the Seals on their hands and cannot come from any other body part or the environment.
- If a Hiru is struck by an offensive Senjutsu-enhanced Jutsu their connection to their Meiton Chakra and their Seals is severed for a number of posts dependent on the Jutsu's rank. 1 post for D or C Rank Jutsu. 2 Posts for B and A Rank Jutsu. 3 posts for S-Rank Jutsu.
