Daremo never considered himself as a spiritual person. Did he believe there were otherworldly entities out there who were the creators of every living thing on the planet? Sure, he believed the creation of living organisms came about from some omnipotent beings, but that was as far as his beliefs went. Unlike others, he did not believe the entities cared for the affairs of humanity. Because why would they? Humanity was just a small speck in the grand scheme of things. Just a small moment in the world’s lifespan. Why should these omnipotent beings care for creatures with such a small lifespan? It was in a similar vein to how people cared little for flies or insects due to their short lifespan.

His belief that these beings had an apathy outlook on humanity played a part in the reason why he did not pray, or make offerings, them. As a medic-nin, he had seen families of patients pray to the beings when a loved one was sick, and nothing else could be done for their loved ones. He had seen the despair, sense of loss, in the eyes of the same families upon realizing their prays were going unanswered. When the same Gods turned their back on those faithful to them, who offered as much as they could, in their trying times. If their creators were as passionate and loving as some make them out to be then surely they would have saved the loved ones of their faithful servants, right? Such was the reason why Daremo never bothers in paying tribute. Why pay tribute to Gods who don’t listen nor care for mortal affairs?

Although his spiritual beliefs might be different than others. He did not go around parading the fact, nor try to dissuade others from their spiritual path. He very much kept his own beliefs and opinions to himself, and respect those of others. There was simply no reason for him to be rude or dismiss another for their spiritual beliefs. If it was the belief that kept them sane than who was him to tell them otherwise? Who was he to condemn them? The answer was simple; he was no one, just another person on this planet with free will. It was because of his stance on things that Daremo had no problem or issue with taking his family to the proclaim spiritual and religious capital of Kaminari no Kuni: Tanzaku Gai.

Though built on the side of the largest mountain in Kaminari no Kuni, and elevated above the clouds, many people still flocked to Tanzaku Gai, undisturbed by the slightly lower levels of oxygen found at such elevation, for one reason or another. The reason for why he came here was mainly due to his family wanting to visit, and a need to get away from the situation within Kumogakure no Sato. In short, the unplanned trip was a mini-vacation of sorts for the family, and for the past two days they had enjoyed themselves. They having visit a couple of the temples or other places of worship or reverence, along with going to the museum to learn about the history forgotten.

Today was different though, with the sun being high within the sky, Daremo had left his family to their own devices, worrying not about their safety considering who was with them, as he went about wandering the spiritual town. Wearing a simple light grey kisode with black hakama, the wooden geta he wore made only the slightest of noises against the cobblestone streets. Citrine eyes looked around the people who he passed, acknowledging those who acknowledged him, and ignoring those who looked at him with disdain and suspicion. None of them could have known that he heralds from Kumogakure, for he did not wear his headband, yet it seemed like some of them did. Either out of an assumption or having a previous run-in with him prior to this. It did not matter to him though, for he planned on changing that in the future.

Lost in thought, Daremo was surprised when his feet carried him to one of the temples. Unlike the others that he visited, overgrowth was abundant about the temple, with there being very little upkeep at all. Looking around, it seems he had gone out an unbeaten path and was now in front of a temple that was seemingly abandoned or ignored. Moving closer to the temple, he tore off some of the shrubberies to read the kanji hidden, “Raiju.”, he has heard about the mythical beast of Lightning. The companion of Raijin. Now, what was a temple which honored such a majestic beast doing out here?

The young Genin had arrived in Tanzaku Gai nearly five days ago on his search for answers about the Tsuyoi, he had heard stories of this place a literal museum city as they claimed and they were right. Jaes knew that if the answers were anywhere they would be here, however dead end after dead end soon had the boy's hopes circling the drain as to ever finding out what he sought when he saw something that caught his attention. As the boy exited another temple with the same unanswered question, his gaze fell onto that of another boy. While the other boy himself was not what caught his attention, but rather what it was that the boy was doing that did it. Jaes would recognize it anywhere considering it was something that belonged to his clan, Jaes quickly approach the boy with a new found vigor. "Where did you learn that?" he questioned the boy with an excited as well as demanding tone, "Do you mind I am trying to practice my Shuurai Tekken Do style," the boy replied with annoyance in his voice. The boy's words rang within Jaes' ears, what did he mean his Shuurai Tekken Do Style? Jaes thought to himself as he tried to process what he had heard. The Shuurai Tekken Do Style was an ancient fighting style of the Tsuyoi, so does that mean that the boy is a Tsuyoi? Jaes asked himself as he continued to watch the boy as he moved through the same motions that Jaes himself went through on a daily basis with his training. Rather than trying to speak to the boy again Jaes would instead mirror the boy and his movements as he practiced, when the boy noticed he snorted and picked up his speed, Jaes matched they boy's speed with ease as the boy continued to increase the speed of his movements until eventually the pair of them ended up shadow fighting. When it was all said and done the pair of them both had a smile on their face, almost out of breath the other boy stated from a hunched over position, "that was amazing, I did not know anyone here studied the teachings of Raijin." Jaes was thrown off guard he knew that Raijin was the God of Thunder, but what did him or his teachings have to do with the Tsuyoi and their fighting style. Almost as if the other boy could sense Jaes' confusion he stated, "You do know that it was Raijin that created the fighting style don't you?" with nothing but a blank stare from Jaes the boy continued. "Long ago Raijin Decended from the heavens with his mighty Raiju by his side, he brought to the land of Kaminari no Kuni many things, among which was both his favor and protection. With the help of his Raiju, Raijin taught the ancients the Way of the Lightning Strike Fist, it has been past down from the monks that live at the top of Raptor's Peak." Jaes could not belive what he was hearing and knew that he had to get to Raptor's Peak as soon as possible to get the answers he sought. The young Genin set out with haste for Raptor's Peak with the intention of solving the mystery that he was after, however after travelling for about thirty minutes or so the boy came upon an old temple that seemed to have been forgotten by time as well as the keepers of this museum city. It was covered in foilage the likes of which the young boy had never seen, Jaes did not understand why but he seemed drawn to it almost as if it was calling to him. Without so much as a second thought the young male left the poor excuse for a path and ventured closer to the temple, despite the foilage that covered it, the temple looked as if it was twice the size and majesty of the other temples the boy had seen within the village. It was on the outskirts of the village if it was even a part of the village that is, the closer the boy got to the entrance of the temple the more that he could not help feeling that this was unlike any of the other temples he had been in.

Moving through the archway the boy entered the massive cathedral of the temple, it was at least a hundred meters wide by the boy's estimation. His eyes scanned the giant room, what he was looking for he did not know but he aimed to find it. As with the outside of the temple the inside was too covered in ivys and shrubbery as well as a few large trees, one of which seemed to have sprouted out of the ground in the center of the large chamber. As Jaes moved through the room he found a statue covered in moss and ivy on the other side of the large tree in the center of the room, as he reached it the boy pulled the moss and ivy from it to reveal the statues appearance. Jaes' jaw almost dropped as he uncovered the statue of Raijin from beneath the overgrowth, 'perhaps Raptor's Peak is not the only place I can seek answers' the boy thought to himself as he began searching the temple from the top to the bottom for anything that might lead him to the answers that he had been searching for. The Temple had definately seen better times, in addtion to all of the foilage that covered the temple both inside and out, the temple must had also had a fire at one point in time as evidence of the flames had left walls and floors black on parts of the temple, there were also a few areas which looked like the ceiling caved in from the weight of time as well as water damaged looking parts of the temple. This place was a ruin, and there did not seem to be anything that looked like it held even an ounce of information about anything, let alone a long and forgotten and buried clan that no one even remembers. It was the whole reason the boy had traveled so far and refused to give up in his search, if he could just find one tiny scrap of proof that the Tsuyoi existed then he could restore his clan to what they once were, instead of living in the shadows like rats afraid that the Kage's would discover them and wipe them out. Jaes spent four days searching the temple, every room, every hallway, every meditation garden, shrubbery finding nothing until the fourth day when he pulled down the Ivy that was growing on the wall behind the statue of Raijin revealing a hidden doorway. The Door looked to be built into the wall itself meeting flush with the wall around it, had it not been for the strange symbols on the door he might not of even found the tiny slit that was the tell tale signs of a hidden door. Jaes spent the rest of the day trying everything he could think of from pushing the door, pulling it, and even attempting to blast it with his Galick Gun Jutsu in hopes that his Raiton could destroy the stone wall door but to no avail. As the sun began to rise on the fifth day the boy had given up hope on breaking into the hidden chamber, it was obvious that whatever these strange symbols were that covered the door were someway linked to its opening or in his case not opening but they made no sense to the young genin. It wasn't until nearly midday when the boy thought of something that he wasn't sure if it would work or not, but with the sun piercing through the hole in the roof caused by the tree shining onto the statue of Raijin it felt like a sign. So the boy decided he was out of options, though he doubted it would work the young Tsuyoi did something he never thought he would do. Taking out an incense he had been pushed into buying when he had first arrived at Tenzaku Gai, Jaes tossed his cloak onto a fallen pillar before igniting the incense with a spark of Raiton applied to the tip. Setting the incense in the offering plate and setting himself up against the large tree in the center of the cathedral the boy closed his eyes and began to meditate and pray to the God Raijin for wisdom and guidance in hopes that the God might show pity on the young genin and would help the boy get past these symbols that seem to be blocking his path so that he may discover the secrets of his clan's past.

Raiju, the faithful companion of the Lightning God, Raijin. There were many stories surround both entities, especially within Kaminari No Kuni and Kumogakure no Sato, respectively. Depending on the text, some spoke of how the country was founded by Raijin, that most, if not all, of the people who were native to the country, came directly from the deity. That, it was through the diety’s will which brought forth humanity to the lands. Other text spoke of Raiju, and how the mythical creature was the one who lead, Kazuyto Shinkama, the man who would become the first Raikage, to the very location where Kumogakure no Sato is located.

The lands seemingly prepped for the arrival for Kazuyto Shinkama, and those who followed the esteemed leader. The stories spoke of how, through the help of both Raijin and Raiju, Kumogakure no Sato was elevated above the clouds. The very mountains range having been raised by Raijin as a means of reward for his creation. The Lightning God having been pleased with the hardy constitution of the men and women which he birth. Thus, as thanks for all of their struggles, none of which had them waver in their loyalty to the Deity, they were rewarded.

Daremo did not believe in such text. He did not believe such mythical creatures would reward humans for their servitude. For why would they? What did deities get out of rewarding such insignificant creatures? Humans were but a speck compared to the rest of life, just a fleeting moment within the eyes of Gods, so why reward them? If it is to please humans, that would be foolish, for couldn’t the deities create more, if they so decide it? Such questions were ones he did not care to find answers for because he already came to term with his own opinion on the subject.

While he cared not for understanding the meaning behind the Deities intentions, at least according to the text found, he still respects them for what they are. Thus, as he moved some of the shrubberies away from the temple, reading the singular word present, he wondered why was this temple seemingly abandoned? Wasn’t Raiju the companion of Raijin; the dog who helped the first Raikage find Kumogakure. If that was the case then why wasn’t a temple honoring it not kept up? He would have thought this temple would have been clean and crawling with tourist, but, that sadly was not the case.

Curious to see if there was anyone else around, Daremo turned to his senses. A combination of his normal sharp senses and the ones given to him by Sage Mode allowed him to get a clear picture of the surrounding. Asides from one other person, the area was devoid of any human life, instead had an abundance of animal life scurrying about, and on the edges of the temple. Considering the state of the temple, it was not surprising that animals had taken up around the place. The only natural for nature to reclaim an area which had been untouched by humans for a while.

But, the animals were not a concern or interest for him, but rather the lone human which he had sense. Walking into the temple, the silver-haired male took in the sight of the cathedral. Much like the outside, the lack of care was evident. The inside being ruined with a number of pillars having fallen and cracked; the piece of which scattered about. For a brief moment, he wonders what had happened here? What had caused the place to go into ruin? He was curious about the history of the place, but, did not bother in finding the answers from someone else, not yet anyway. No, something, or rather, someone had caught his attention, and he was curious about what they were doing here.

Walking towards the large tree, which was blocking the alters, Daremo kept his sense tuned to the human which had not moved. Finding getting vision on the human, a young male to be exact. “I am surprise to find anyone else here.”, He spoke, glancing from the pair of alters to the boy in question, “Considering how this temple seemed abandoned. I doubted anyone come here. Did you stumble over this place, like I did? Or were you already aware of its existence?”  Curious was he, for he did not think anyone else would be here.

Jaes had no idea how long he had been meditating, asking Raijin for something, anything that could help him find the answer he needed. He had almost given up hope and was about to leave when the sound of a voice rang through the boy's ears, at first the boy thought it was the voice of Raijin that spoke to him, but when he open his eye's to look upon the source of the voice what he saw was not the God of Thunder, or at least not what the boy thought the God of Thunder would look like. Jaes was not sure what to think of the man that stood before him, was it possible that this was the God's way of answering the boy? Jaes did not know how to handle himself, if the man was just a man then he would be no help to him in his opinion, however if he was the answer to his prayer then he needed to ensure not to anger the man. "I.. uh.. I.." the young genin scrambled with his words as he got to his feet, he was not brave enough to come out and ask the man if he was the answer to his prayers for the chance that he was not, instead the boy decided to just tell the man what he had found and see what happened from there. "I found this place, um, about five days ago. I came here searching for answers to my clan and their connection to Raijin, but from what I have seen this temple completely lost in time, at least whats left of it. The rooms are bare of any kind of funiture, save for these two alters here in this room. No bookshelfs, no beds, no chairs, not even a single book, its almost as if someone took everything out of here and then just left the building because they couldn't take it with them. To be honest I am surprised a temple to Raijin is under such poor care in a city such as this, but the statue is still standing so that's something at least don't you think. In truth the only thing of interest that I have found in this entire temple is the scribbling on the wall over there that I have no idea what it is or means but it's covering some kind of hidden door way." Jaes stopped talking taking a slow breath to regain the oxygen that he spent talking as fast as he had. The young genin was shocked with how fast his words were coming out almost as if his vocal cords were electified and wanted nothing more than to speak as much as physically possible, it could be the exictment of the thought that this man could actually be Raijin or it could be the energy of this place that caused this but the boy did not know he simply spoke although it was a lot and he spoke rather fast trying to get it all out. Deep down inside the young Tsuyoi, the genin hoped that this man was in some shape or form the answer to his prayer and could help him find the answer he was searching for behind this mysterious hidden door that was covered in strange symbols. If the man was and he was some how able to get this hidden door open perhaps the truth behind the Tsuyoi would be found inside, of course if the man was not the answer to his pray then the boy simply wasted his time explaining himself to the man which would no doubt annoy the young genin.

Finding someone in the temple was not surprising to the silver-haired male. What was surprising was the temple in question. From what he had gathered from the lack of care of this particular temple, visitors was not something that came by a lot. If people actually did pay a visit to the temple, then it would have not been in the bad shape it currently was in, it would have been taken care of better. Thus, it was surprising to find someone, a boy nonetheless, within the seemingly abandoned temple. Now, what was someone doing here of all places, that was what he wanted to find out. Sure, it was hyportical to question the motives of another when he himself can be called into question, but, he simply did not care. The man was curious.

The way the unknown individual scrambled over their words made Daremo question why exactly they were here in the first place. Surely, there would be no need to scramble over one’s words if everything was okay. The boy could be hiding something. With how abandoned the temple looked, and the lack of care and maintenance, the place could be used for nefarious means or something else. Of course, the boy could just be nervous about talking to a complete stranger. There is always some nerves when it comes to speaking with someone who there is no relationship with. Dismissing the thoughts for now, he waited for the boy to reply to his question.

The reason for the unknown boy in being here was an interesting one. The male seemingly having found the temple five days ago, searching for answers regarding Raijin and his clan. Much like himself, the unknown individual realized the temple had long since been lost in time. From what he gathered, the boy had been here for some time. Looking through the varying rooms, trying to find anything that would give him the answers which he sought after. Needlessly to say, the only thing he found was the two altars in the room, and scribbling on a way that was covering a hidden door.

Taking a moment to process the information, Daremo spoke, “I admire your dedication in coming for five days, looking for any information on your clan. I know others would not even bother to do such a thing after they came up unfruitful within hours of searching.”, he complimented. Whoever this person was, he was stubborn to not give up on finding information about the clan, and he could admire the trait for what it was. “It is a shame that the temple is such poor shape. One would think that a temple in Raijin’s honor would be maintained well, especially by the people of Kaminari no Kuni considering the myths surround the creature.”, he responded.

Briefly look at the alters, he turned his attention back to the unnamed boy, “I’m Kobayashi Daremo. Jounin of Kumogakure no Sato. Who are you?”, he asked. Once a name had been given, Daremo turned his attention to the scribbles on the nearby wall, “Hmmm.”. Walking towards the wall in question, he placed his hand on the scribble, “It is a shame people in these lands tend to forget the importances of Raiju. The faithful companion of Rajin also helped in the creation of Kumogakure no Sato, for it was the one who picked the ideal location for the village. Yet, people only celebrate Raijin, forgetting about his faithful companion.”, he muttered. He having read a lot about the history of Raijin and Raiju, something which he did upon joining Kumogakure no Sato.

Looking at the scribble, Daremo wonder if there was a way to unlock the hidden door. “I wonder. If this place is associated with the mythical beast of lightning, then.”, raiton chakra flowed through his fingers tips as he traced the scribbling on the wall. An eyebrow being raised as he felt a tug on his chakra, particularly the raiton that was flowing through him, and he looked on as the scribbling lit up in a lightning blue that was nearly blinding. Suddenly Daremo received a powerful electrical shock that caused electrical burns across the surface of his hand, and causing the limb to convulse uncontrollably for a few moments. A frown marred his features as the words stopped growing. Damn, here he was hoping that he made progress. Flatten his hand against the words, Daremo pushed a considerable amount of raiton chakra through the words.

“Whoever did this wanted to keep something. . .”, he winced when spike pushed through his hand, and withdrew just as quickly, “hidden.”. His blood covering some of the words, and rolling down the wall. As his hand convulsed, Daremo remained contact. After five minutes of dumping his chakra into the writing, his persistence paid off with rumbling as the hidden wall slowly began to lower down, revealing the contents inside. “Shall we go in, and see what is hidden?”, Daremo asked, looking back at the boy.
