Clan History:

"What is the true nature of the human condition? Who can say. One thing is for certain. We will fight for the next day."

The Kyara clan is treated as less of a clan and more of a phenomenon, similar to the Jiengen in that manner. Approximately two hundred years ago there appeared special individuals. Their own lives were varied, one a common merchant, another a ninja in training, another a housewife. Though they all exhibited one quality: The ability to persevere through death. One tripped down the stairs and broke her neck, another was incinerated by a stray fireball jutsu, you get the point. Though not a second later they would rise as if nothing happened, coming back even better than before. Such miracles were written off at the time as just that, freak miracles. That was until about ten years ago when a child by the name of Charra Kyara went mad after an attack on her small village by one of the great ninja nations left them with nothing. Charra went after the hidden villages, assassinating important and influential figures by pretending to be an orphan and getting in the good graces of the figure in question; then proceeding to brutally slaughter the entire household in their sleep. They were confirmed to have been killed dozens on dozens of times but they would always come back, more murderous and unstable every time. For a long time it was speculated that Charra was a vengeful spirit or a wraith of some kind. It was not until she was captured by the Hidden Leaf village and sentenced to death that their true powers were discovered.

"Eight times... This shouldn't be possible."

Eight times they had to kill Charra. It was revealed that this serial murderer had the ability to resurrect their body, so long as their wrath and will to live remained intact. Charra also explained that the real nature of their power lies in hell, in Naraka. Revealed to them when a dark mimic of themselves appeared to them when their home was destroyed. Whether their words hold any truth to them at all, no one but Charra themself knows. So, in the dungeons they killed Charra one more time, hoping to force them to give up, however this next resurrection was different. Before anyone could tell what happened next, the entire institute that held Charra turned silent, and the child murderer walked out of the prision, soaked in the blood of a hundred of prisoners. Thankfully, due to the good judgement of one of the elite ninja, a platoon of experienced jounin was ready to take on Charra. It was a brutal battle but eventually, after killing her nine times that day, the demon child was finally put down.

A similarly powered people fitting the description and conditions observed for Charra's resurrection abilities were rounded up over time by the Hidden Villages and the great nations, and isolated around different heavily watched towns specifically built for them. For who would want to repeat the terror of Charra? Recently however a new leader had emerged from these 'Kyara compounds' and organized a popular peace movement among the Kyara 'clan', easing tensions somewhat. Though which will persevere: The serial murderer's memory, or this pacifist road they travel on now?

Members: "Charra" Kyara, Kurisuku Kyara

Kyara Clan Y4syLuV
Kekkei Genkai Name: 決意 Ketsui | Determination
Kekkei Genkai Description:

The Kyara clans members hold a special kind of power inside of them. The power of unmatched resolve, the power to force fate to one's whims by sheer willpower. Their strength is such that not even death can reap their souls. Befitting their reputation of unrivaled determination all clans members receive the Strong Willed special characteristic without the need to balance it.

  • The Power of LV

Their power of determination has been proven time and time again to not simply be the product of a secret technique, but something of how their chakra network is more closely linked to their psychological state of mind. Generally, the more focused, determined, they are, the more powerful they become.

Mechanically, a Kyara gains 'LV points' in set amounts in the following scenarios at the start every post those scenarios are true. For requirements such as 'inflict injuries', since those would be revealed on the opponent's post, you'd gain the LV points on their turn. Note that you don't start with any LV points and gain it based on your actions inside of the thread, additionally LV points don't carry over to other threads. The exception to this being 'Permanent' LV points which is what you start with at the beginning of any given thread, however they are expended like normal LV points.

How to Increase LV guide (for dummies):

It is assumed that the values add cumulatively together until stated otherwise. I.e if you received an S-rank jutsu and were thrust into the lethal damage threshold you would gain 23 LV points. Through a great deal of training, Kyara clan members are able to gain what’s known as permanent LV, which they start with at the beginning of the thread. This Permanent LV functions identically to normal LV with a few differences and bonuses. Every Kyara gains 20 permanent LV at every rank. (Plot / SS-rank characters may break this maximum LV cap, starting with and/or reaching absurd levels of LV if allowed.)

 • LV Up

As noted before the Ketsui is a potent physical energy founded in Naraka, if you believe Charra’s claims. As one grows stronger with their Ketsui so to does their physical abilities. Thus clan members can recieve a small bonus based on how much permanent LV they have. A Kyara clans member may choose 1 at B and S rank.

- Choose one stat, for every 40 permanent LV you have add +1 to that stat. This is a unique buff that doesn’t count against passive sources of increasing stats.
- Your movement speed increases by 5m/s every 20 current LV, (including permanent LV) at all times. This is added after other modifiers and can exceed the speed cap.
- Can perform a Hysterical Strength or Movement Burst, listed in the stats guideline, without any of the normal penalties associated with their use, once for every 20 permanent LV you have. This resets to full use by the end of a thread or a The Undying is used.
- After The Undying is used, recover 20% of your permanent LV, rounding up to the nearest 5. This only takes effect on the first use of The Undying.

 • THE ABSOLUTE | DETERMINATION

As a Kyara builds up power in their Ketsui, they are able to convert this into vital physical energy for a number of means.

The Absolute:

Drawbacks:

  • Loss of Diversity: For some reason their kekkei genkai interferes with their chakra network’s ability to change the nature of their chakra, with their Kekkei genkai taking over it. Kyara clan members are only able to learn one one element, and only up to A-rank.

  • Too Determined: The power of Ketsui is an incredible one, however not one tailor made for humans it seems. The more LV points someone builds up the obvious the side effects of this power become. These negatives come into play when the Kyara has enough LV points to meet the thresholds. They remain active until the LV levels are lowered below the listed thresholds. An important thing to note is that this only applies to non-permanent LV points. So if a member had 125 permanent LV and 35 non-permanent LV points they only take drawbacks from the drawback of having 35 LV points.

Too Determined:

  • Reset Dependent: The members of the Kyara clan are dependent on their ability to repel death to heal. Due to this reliance they developed a body that is somewhat resistant to medical techniques, and must take the Pharmacophobia SC without balancing it.

  • THE UNDYING: Some short comings if this technique however is that it leaves the body somewhat defenseless as it is focuses on recovery rather than defense. For the rest of the thread after THE UNDYING is used the endurance of the user is reduced by 4 tiers. Though this does not stack after multiple instances of THE UNDYING in one thread.

  • 99999: After draining such a large amount of their Ketsui in one attack the Kyara becomes extremely exhausted. As this was created with the intent to kill that which they could not outlast, the Kyara isn’t supposed to fight for much longer after having used it. If not immediately killed by usage of this with the chakra drain, the Kyara cannot use jutsu up to 2 ranks below their ninja rank for the rest of the thread. (Meaning they are forced to use B-rank jutsu or below). Additionally they suffer a -4 to dexterity, perception, and speed for the rest of the thread.

Okay this is a weird concept but lets take a look.

First of all I'm not a fan of the permanent stacking of LV points. Especially since some of the methods don't require you interacting with other players and as they are currently written can be done on NPC's.

Defeating/Killing a enemy: can be human, pet, summon. (+5 | +1 permanently)

Incapacitating someone without causing direct harm to them yourself. (+7 | +2 permanently) If they are actively trying to kill you for three and you manage to befriend / pacify them, increase the permanent LV gain by 1.

The second one doesn't make sense. It feels like you're missing out on some words in the italics part.

Further it's waaaay too easy at the moment to get out several free resurrections. The fact that it doesn't cost chakra to resurrect and gives you all of this: "instantly recover from all damage, regenerate missing limbs, expel all internal inconsistencies (poison, genjutsu), and are immune to damage for that post." is just simply insane.

THE ABSOLUTE; remove the "half of the permanent LV the Kyara has". It only counts whatever you already have.

The bonuses should be toned down A LOT. What you're trying to get is already insanely strong, this is just extreme overkill.

DETERMINATION;
"However this drains 10 LV points per post and can only be used once per thread."
The underlined bit literally means nothing. The only way you're going to get to the 9th reset is if you have an insane permanent LV gain. At which point your passive LV gain is already higher than the LV points you need to spend to maintain this form. Further the IRL time means nothing and cannot be seen as a valid drawback.

I'm not even going to try and touch drawbacks yet because it won't do anything. The KKG is too overloaded at the moment and needs severe nerfs before I'm even willing to consider that balance of the clan.

Oh hello there Fuyuko, I want to thank you for offering your input, for that I'm rather grateful. With that done, let's continue.

After a minor miscalculation, slip of the mind, on my part, I realized that it would only take 10 more LV points after maxing out Permanent LV at S-rank to reach the ninth reset. So I made it harder to build up permanent LV by reducing the gains when the condition is met with a non-player character. (i.e Killing a player character). Also fixed that weird condition you pointed out to be missing something.

-

On to the part you quoted, this is repetitive information. According to the Death/Combat guidelines regarding the Lethal Damage Threshold:

"While in this state, characters become cleansed of the effects of paralyzing techniques or effects which stun or impair their senses, such as Genjutsu, but are considered to have E-rank stats."

However I'll lower the immunity to, something less extreme.

For DETERMINATION: Hm. There was a missing part here where the Kyara don't gain LV for the rest of the thread when this mode is activated, though I believe it was put in the drawbacks. Made a few changes so that you can stay in this state forever.

nnno, the ability on this clan is waaaaaay too strong. every time you reach the damage threshold you get to revive for free. Which could be INSANE in combat. Ressurrection, as a standard is an S rank jutsu ability, and putting it for free on a clan without chakra i think is just overall a no-go. So I'm going to have to deny that at the concept level unless / until i see some radical changes.

Sorry.

Just a few things I'd like you make some changes in before going further in depth; for LV points id like it specified what you start at (if any) and the note made that the points do not carry over between threads. in the accumulation of LV points please lower the number of points one receives for NPC interactions and try to replace as many as possible with interactions with other PCs. In addition I'd like to see more drawbacks for LV points had, including some starting at lower values.

On a more conceptual level, I want to say I like the idea behind "points" for the clan but also think for high level effects you will need to accumulate more points than are obtainable in the average amount of posts in threads, while still keeping the points earned for certain interactions at a reasonable level. I would try to lower the LV points overall in trying to keep the numbers within the realm of what can actually be obtained, and this would bring the higher level abilities down in power to match the lower number of points required. For the higher LV point abilities I'd recommend looking at decreasing overall power and in turn increasing frequency of usability.

Addressed your first concern on non player LV Permanent gain to the best of my knowledge, poke me if I missed something.

As per your request I toned down the power of the higher tier powers. Removing the 'invincibility' granted by the first ability of the A-rank division, Heart Break, while removing the HEAD ON! bonus granted by THE UNDYING.

Does the LV stay between threads? Or does permanently refer to just for that thread? I don’t see the permanent LV lasting between threads just for the sake of continuity and the ability to have different posts in different timelines effect how much you would have in other threads.

I’d still also like to see move lower value effects in the too determined drawback

The undying section at the end needs a bit of editing as there are conflicting statements

LV doesn't persist between threads, and always starts at zero in the beginning of a thread. Permanent LV changes that rule. Certain actions, mostly killing, will have you start any of your threads with some LV already there. So in the case someone killed twenty PC characters then they would have 60 permanent LV, and would start each of their threads with 60 LV points already gained.Though other than that they still work like normal LV points and are expended as such.

As for the other two I'll get onto it asap.

So my issue with the permanant LV is the fluid nature of time progression on saga. As far as starting a thread with any amount of permanant LV, what happens if you get an increase from one thread and you start another that is "before" the one in which you gained the LV? It seems really difficult to manage how much permanant LV you have especially since you can have multiple threads at any time. Perhaps to suit the rules for saga a little better, maybe consider having the permanant LV value key off of rank.

the other issue im seeing the way the effects in the "D-rank" category can exceed the max values for jutsu of that rank if enough points are used. perhaps rather than having it scale for the number of LV points expended id suggest having it be a flat number of points for a flat increase, and having that ability written for different ranks and different values.
