Maikumaru

Maikumaru

A-rank
It was a very early morning in the Land of Lightning. The sun had just started to shine through the sky, painting it with a nice orange colors. He walked in a herd of people, civilians and shinobi alike. All of them going towards one destination. The Factory. Maikumaru was highly alarmed to find out it had begun to producing goods in mass. More than usual. It only confirmed what he had expected. That Kumogakure was preparing for War. Maikumaru was going to do everything in his power to make sure their preparations would be undermined as much as possible. The Anti Hastur organization he currently was with had created fake ID cards for him and several other members of the group. The Self Proclaimed Champion of the Village Hidden in The Stone was rather lucky to be able to find an organization to be this radical. So radical that they would allow people from their own village and nation, to allow civilians die like this. This factory would be destroyed. It is going to blow up in a fantastic blaze of glory. With everyone in it. That was his plan. A delicious one it will be.

The Overseer hadn’t placed him on any assignments. Things have been quite dry with him. He had begun to believe Hastur had started to find less and less heretics to send a member of his Death Squad to. It worked in his favor obviously. This was only the first phase of the three phase plan. The three phase plan Maikumaru would have to enact quickly. After this very endeavor, the next would be to abduct the Overseer. He held valuable information that needed to be extracted. One way or the other.

Looming over the Horizon was the Land of Lightning’s biggest factory. It was an industrial Labyrinth. A cloud of smoke puffed out of it, It was grafted to the top of a mountain, as most things were in the Land of Lightning. Out of it puffed a cloud of smog into the air. And from the side, waste poured out and hundreds of meters down into a canyon, steam and fumes bellowing from it. The people around him sighed. They didn’t seem to want to be there. They were in luck. It was about to become a very interesting day at work. And their very last day. Reaching the mountain, there was a giant elevator that led upward to the main building. Maikumaru was one of the first to be able to get inside the large elevator. Once he did, he noticed how cramp it was. It he felt someone continuously elbowing him in the ribs. He was seconds away from slamming him on his neck.

Entering in the building it looked just as depressing and bleak on the inside as it did on the outside. There were machines and banging noises everywhere. All of the machines were grey, and there were people working to the bone. There were complex platforms suspended from the ceiling, with people working on them. Maikumaru looked around him. He had to get ready. He went passed the sensory ninja sitting at the door with no issue. Checkmate. Getting a scope of the place, he spotted a shinobi from the organization. He spotted him back. They nodded at one another as he left Maikumaru’s sight. That one was on his break. He had to be as quick as possible. His job was to go into the basement and pour in as much of his special Fuuton Jutsu he could into the ventilation. It would take time to sit before it would become flammable. That’s where Maikumaru would come in. He would go into the basement and use his Raiton to spark it. That would cause a chain reaction, causing an explosive reaction. And there was another Suiton/Katon specialist who was great at combining the two jutsu. He would go around flowling his flammable Suiton Jutsu on the floor and all over the floor, and the machinery. It wouldn’t be hard considering he was an Hozuki.

Walking around the factory Maikumaru took in the industrialization. The productivity. He enjoyed it. Every bit of it. It was almost saddening that he would soon have to destroy it. “HEY YOU! GET TO YOUR SECTION!” Maikumaru was yelled out by a supervisor. He nodded and sped off to his designated area.

Nil

Nil

D-rank
There are a lot of things in this world Nil admits he doesn't know. Some things he may know of but know nothing of their application. Others he may have some vague understanding of but lack detail on the finer points of their execution. While others..... others he had not even the faintest frame of reference for what they were and what purpose they served. It was that last idle thought that Nil now dwelt upon as he nervously shuffled his way to and fro through the smog-belching apparatus all around him. His paled features wrinkling slightly as Nil wrinkled his nose up in abject disgust at the various unnatural, polluting smells that left the factory.

While Nil obviously lacked the physique necessary to actually work on a designated station within the factory, and even more so due to his young age, nevertheless he had dutifully signed up for the completion of this mission. Thus with the hurried rush of feet clanging on metal, the pounding and working of various contraptions, and people all around screaming to one-another was Nil assigned to merely assist in moving supplies between stations or retrieving them from storage as necessary.

Not daring to wear his finely-made kimono on this mission, Nil instead opted for wearing a simple olive green tunic with a white bandanna around his head to keep his hair free of smog, sparks and other refuse. His forehead protector was tied around his neck like a necklace and he wore a matching pair of shabby green pants to match his plain shirt. All-in-All a much more humble outfit than what Nil was accustomed to wearing, though he did still keep his midsection bandaged to cover his scar.

Glancing about with more than a little trepidation Nil only knew that he had to report to the supervisor for his station. Making sure to bob and weave his way between and around anyone who came to close, Nil took a moment to glance about the construction taking place. The massive system of industrialization and progress that was churning out.... something. Honestly Nil had no idea what was being made here but whatever they were making they must either have needed a lot of them, or it must be something truly impressive.

Regardless once Nil drew his attention away from the crowd and the factory itself it was fairly simple to find the person in-charge, since he was yelling at someone to get back to their section. Nil winced a bit in sympathy, hoping he could avoid the same treatment himself. The supervisor, glancing at Nil over a clipboard, bore an expression that somehow bordered on aggravated, bored and disinterested all at once. In a way, it was almost impressive. As the man glanced down at Nil with dark brown eyes narrowing slightly in suspicion he glanced back at his clipboard, turning a few pages as he spoke.

"Bit young to be here don't ya think?"

He didn't really seem to be all that interested in Nil's attempt at a response as, before Nil could do more than open his mouth he tapped the clipboard with a smirk.

"Ah. That explains it. Well Nil..... Raiu?.."

The man trailed off, squinting in the clipboard almost suspiciously before he glanced back at Nil. A few nearby workers, some grown men, others teenagers only a bit older than Nil himself, stopped to stare at Nil as well upon hearing the name. Some of their looks were... less than friendly, though by the time the supervisor turned to look at them they hurriedly went back to their tasks. Turning back to Nil with a scoff, the supervisor folded his arms and gave Nil that same suspicious stare.

"So... what are you doing here kid? Shouldn't you be in some fancy compound somewhere getting waited no hand and foot? Family disown you or somethin'?"

Nil blinked, blushing slightly and quickly shook his head, answering with a stammered.

"N-No sir. I just... I just want to help my village."

This made the supervisor grin, chuckling to himself as he marked something on his clipboard.

"An idealist eh? Well kid I'll tell you what. Why don't you go help out that lug over there? See if you can rub off on him a bit."

The supervisor motioned to the man he had yelled at only moments ago and Nil blinked, studying the broad-shouldered individual before giving the supervisor a hesitant nod.

"Good. Now I'll overlook you being the last one here since you're only going to be here for a day, but don't fuck things up anymore than that, you got me? It's pretty simple really. There's a list of parts you have to bring back to the line in a certain order. Your assigned partner will then put them together, and you repeat the process and don't be afraid to help if they ask. Understand?"

Nil gulped, but nodded with something approaching confidence before the supervisor nodded.

"Good. Now get going, first section on your right, bottom left to start. Oh and lunch will be soon so don't be afraid to work extra hard."

Nil blinked, confused for a moment before he realized he was talking about the parts he was supposed to be getting and telling a bad joke at the same time, and scampered off toward his assigned station. All told he was only about five meters from Maik when getting the parts, but considering even he understood, as he looked at the checklist on his station, that he would have to record what parts were used when and in what order, how it would be almost impossible to do the job alone. Marking off his first part and hefting the jointed segment into both arms did Nil carry the heavy metal object over to set beside Maik and give the tall, brooding man a small smile, and began to introduce himself in a short, professional manner. Trying his best to friendly as he could, after all, who you work with could make or break any job.

"Nil. Nil Raiu, nice to meet you"
