Clan History: Throughout the dense jungles of the unknown lived a savage empire where the art of the shinobi was unheard off. The empire would live within a single gigantic pyramid, built by the hard labor of it's inhabitants and the bodies of their victims, it was said that every new moon, the tears and cries of the dead would weap from their infinite slumber within the exterior of the pyramid. The colony was named 'Thyualu' and was inhabited by nearly 6,000 people, and as savage and uncontrollable as they were, they would begin new traditions, and create the religion, the religion of a single god. A god that had shun above them from the beginning of time, his presence was warm and invited the inhabitants to bask it's embrace, yes the Sun became their god. Traditions and rituals would begin to rise, as the religion became more serious, the village would experiment of their events, such as temples and shrines which would be built widespread across the village, whilst mid-day and the 7th of every month would be devoted for praise to their god.

Assuming their prayers would be answer, the village would rely more on it's religion than their own hard work and thus the village would begin to crumble. Not only did their morale take a harsh beating toward the unresponsive prayers, but they would soon become lazy allowing it's productivity to shrivel up and corrode. That was until, a shaman would begin the new king of Thyualu. His presence left warmth toward his people, and his voice alone would implement a positive warm feeling allowing his presence to bless those in his vicinity. The citizens would adore him, and then the 100th 7th day of the month would come. His eyes would turn gold whilst his body would tremble affront a crowd of 5000. Blood would drip from his mouth before falling across a marble tablet, dying atop the tablet for no apparent reason, the blood from his body would flow from the top of the tablet and trickle down the steps until pooling to the ground. Within the instant the blood would take shape of the sun, the sun itself would throb brightly, before enveloping the entire city. The villagers shocked by the occurrence before them would then cheer, as a new tradition was born. Every 7th of the month, they would make a sacrifice across the stone tablet placed at the tower.

The village would begin to prosper as this so called 'Sun god' blessed the land. Basking in the suns embrace, the villagers would begin to grow more bloodthirsty, especially the Kaneko Clan. This specific clan praised the sun and treasured it's life source more than anyone else in Thyualu. The biggest reason being they were the ancestors of the shaman king himself, and they would praise themselves on being the first clan to have had the first sacrifice. With the Kaneko clan having the strongest relationship with the Sun God, they would live out a particular process, one in which they would live till their early twenties, reproduce, and then offer themselves as sacrifices. This would continue for 77 years, and the village would life peacefully, and the Kaneko clan would overwhelm the village in numbers. As they all offered their life to the Sun god, only one woman would decide not too. She adored the sun light, but hated the idea of sacrificing herself for the good of everyone else. So the day her mother decided to offer her own life, the girl would make her way to stop the sacrifice.

Making her way to the top of the tower and stoping the sacrifice, the village would uproar as the skies would grow black. This so called 'Sun God' was not happy, and in turn would turn on the village. The savage village in which now hated the girl for destroying their tradition would begin to march up the tower and slay the girl. But her fury was too strong, unknowing of her abilities, chakra would begin to cloud around the village, and her body would throw a vibrant red. Within the instant of the first flash of red from her skin, a plasma explosion would erupt outward from her body, destroying everything and killing every member in the village, except Kaneko clansmen.... It would seem that the energy of the sun was bestowed upon the Kaneko clan, and the Sun God would cease to exist. Her rage would give her the chance to flee into Kumogakure, where she would hide and eventually find love, which would bring forth the future of the almighty Kaneko clan.

Kekkei Tōta Description: Star Release is a semi-symbolic name for the Bloodline Selection resulting from the simultaneous use of the Fire, Lightning, and Wind elements. This nature allows the user to directly control plasmas - not simply those of the constituent elements, but the state of matter itself. It is typically created with the Fūton that makes it up by forming a vacuum, superheating a small amount of isolated gas with Katon and ionizing it with Raiton. The resulting matter can vary from flecks of light to a fluid, unearthly fire. Depending on the jutsu and gas used, some plasmas can be invisible.




Members of this clan start with only two of the needed Fire, Lightning, or Wind Releases. At a ninja rank of C, they may learn the third for 1000 words, and using the rules for secondary elements thenceforth; once they know all 3 of Fire, Lightning, and Wind, they innately gain Star Release, which is automatically set to the lowest of the three constituent elements' ranks.


Properties wrote:Jōton is energy-laden gas. It can displace itself in the face of physical obstacles while imparting that immense energy simultaneously. As fire and lightning are weaker plasmas themselves, they possess no inherent benefit against it. Star Release has no weaknesses to the base elements.

Jiton users have an edge against Star Release, as magnetic fields can disrupt a plasma's form and path of travel. This applies both to the direct exertion of magnetism and items or weapons manipulated by it; Magnet Release gains +1 rank against Star Release, and it can manipulate any plasma not actively being controlled as if it were a magnetic object.




Electromagnetic Obliteration: Plasma is ionized and superheated gas. At these high temperatures, the atoms are moving so fast that they loose their electrons, which makes ionized particles. When the plasma makes contact with the target the free-floating electrons will travel through them creating widespread internal damage. This happens because the ions in the body's cells and water that makes up a large part of the body, both of which make for good conductors.

Depending on the strength of the plasma the effects can be contained in a small area or quite widespread.


  • Any Jōton technique that deals D rank damage deals it in the form of minor first degree internal burns in a small area of no larger then 15cm across and starting no deeper then 1.5cm deep. This cannot cause burns to internal organs.

  • Any Jōton technique that deals C rank damage deals it in the form of major 1st/minor 2nd degree internal burns in a slightly larger area of no larger then 30cm across and starting no deeper then 3cm deep. This cannot cause burns to internal organs.

  • Any Jōton technique that deals B rank damage deals it in the form of major 2nd/minor 3rd Degree internal burns in an area of no larger then half a meter across on contact with the torso or head or an entire limb if it strikes a limb. The burns start no deeper then 4.5cm deep. At this rank it is possible for internal organs to be burnt by Jōton techniques.

  • Any Jōton technique that deals A rank damage deals it in the form of deal major 3rd-degree and possibly even 4th-degree tissue damage internal burns in an area of the size of the entire torso, if it would strike a limb it would effect the entire limb in addition to the torso. At this rank the burns travel the entire way through the effected area, making Jōton techniques extremely lethal.

  • Any Jōton technique that deals S rank damage deals it in the form of incineration to the entire inside of the body. At this rank the burns travel instantly through the entire body completely frying every organ and cell, leaving a charred corpse covered in papery skin.

  • Any Jōton technique that deals SS rank damage deals it in the form of instantaneous vaporization of every cell in the body. This leaves nothing behind but a black stain and a sickening smell.





Fusion Engine: Fusion is the act of energy being created through the joining of two separate things. Much like how stars generate energy from the joining of two hydrogen atoms, so too do Jōton techniques draw in hydrogen from the air and turn them into helium, generating energy that fuels the plasma.Every post after the initial activation of a Jōton technique the technique gains one point of fusion. Fusion increases the power and size of Jōton techniques as well as causes it to become much harder to completely disperse. Preparation posts count as if the jutsu was active for the purpose of Fusion. The effects of Fusion are listed below.

  • 0 Points
    The jutsu's range and damage are set to the minimum of 2 ranks lower

  • 1 Point
    The jutsu's range and damage are set to the minimum of 1 rank lower. "Made With, Not Of"'s first benefit begins taking effect

  • 2 Points
    The jutsu's range and damage are set to the minimum of the current rank of the technique. All previous benefits continue to apply.

  • 3 Points
    The jutsu's range and damage are set to the maximum of the current rank of the technique and the second benefit of "Made With, Not Of" begins taking effect. All previous benefits continue to apply.

  • 4 Points
    When a Jōton technique reaches 4 fusion points it becomes what is called a supergiant, the amount of plasma and chakra contained within causing it to grow in size and strength. It gains a +10m to range (+2.5m to radius). Additionally, this technique interacts twice, counting as two jutsu of its rank when interacting with other techniques, however it only ever does it's damage once.


Due to Fusion being the creation of energy, other forms of energy can be used as a substitute for the energy generated from the fusion of two hydrogen atoms. When a Katon, Raiton, Ranton, Shakuton, or Bakuton jutsu enters within a range of 1 meter of an active or preparing Jōton technique some of the energy is sapped off and used to fuel the Jōton technique. When this occurs it causes the jutsu to gain one fusion point at the start of the next post. However, whenever a Jiton technique enters this range or directly touches the technique, the magnetic fields cause some of the plasma to leak off, decreasing the technique's fusion points by 1 to a minimum of 0.




Made With, Not Of: Unlike most elemental and advanced releases, Jōton is not a construct made of chakra, instead, its more of a construct made through the use of chakra. Jōton jutsu are formed by using chakra to bring in the gasses and then superheating and ionizing it. Since they are not completely made of chakra like a Katon fireball or Raiton lightning bolt they are much harder to stop once they have time to reach full power.

The first benefit of "Made With, Not Of" is that, once the technique reaches 1 fusion point, the plasma made by the technique becomes self sustaining no longer requiring chakra to pull in hydrogen to fuel it. Since the technique is no longer completely made of chakra any technique that would dispel or disperse chakra interacts with this technique at -1 rank.

The second benefit of "Made With, Not Of" is that, once the technique reaches 3 fusion points, the plasma begins to draw in energy quicker, becoming extremely hard to completely destroy. If a Jōton technique under this effect would be destroyed for any reason other then its duration ending or its user choosing to end it, the plasma is destroyed but not completely and the remaining plasma may be reformed and functions as a technique of two ranks lower with minimum values of that rank (except for range which stays the same). While the gases are still active the chakra empowering them has dissipated, requiring the user to pay the cost of a jutsu of 2 ranks below the jutsu in question to reform the jutsu (so reforming a B rank jutsu would cost the amount used to use a D rank jutsu and would function as one). This is an instantaneous effect, if the jutsu was dissipated by interacting with a jutsu or target it is forced to interact with that same jutsu or target Immediately before it interacts with anything else.

Drawbacks:
  • While Jōton is quite strong when it has time to complete fusion, it is also quite weak when it doesn't. So long as a  Jōton technique has 0 fusion points it interacts as -1 rank for all purposes.

    There is such a thing as too much strength however. If you fusion score would increase by more then 3 in a single post for reasons aside from the innate +1 per post or ever reaches 10 fusion points, the plasma goes supernova causing it to explode and dissipate at the end of you next post.


  • Since Jōton is not entirely made of chakra it is much harder to disperse. While normally this is a good thing it can cause problems when the user wishes to end a Jōton technique. To end a Jōton technique before its duration ends the user must pay a chakra cost equal to half the activation cost rounded down.


  • Although it doesn't seem like it would, Joton requires extreme focus to ensure the barrier holding the plasma in stays stable. Additionally, the constant strain that the bright light of Joton techniques puts on their eyes makes them weak. Kaneko clan members have a permanent -1 tier to perception for visual cues. When they are charging up a Joton technique they gain an additional -1 to perception for all ques (meaning -2 to visual, -1 to all other.)


  • All Jōton techniques of S-rank or lower possess initial damage values for 2 ranks lower than their jutsu rank would imply; they cannot begin with damage values below D-rank, meaning an offensive Star Release jutsu can never be lower than B-rank.


  • It is fairly unrealistic to say that one could completely master three elements in addition to something as potent and complex as a Bloodline Selection. Indeed, while one can possess a chakra nature contributing to the power of Star Release, one cannot split the time needed to learn and hone the control necessary for Jōton with learning techniques for an entirely different element.


    One of a Kaneko's Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary nature cannot be used to make techniques above C-rank. (This need not be stated anywhere; if a B-rank/higher technique for a third base element exists in your Jutsu List, you've already broken this rule.) This also inhibits the use of active chakra abilities of items utilizing that element.

    In this way, all further ranks of the restricted element become, essentially, training for Star Release itself.



  • A Kaneko cannot possess a quaternary specialization. They cannot take the "Hesitant (Specialization)" or "Hesitant (Element)" Special Characteristics.

Fusion Engine;
When you list the bonus "Made with, Not of", they're contradicting the description for the bonus itself, both are listed a point too early in the Fusion Engine.

The second effect where you basically get two jutsu for the price of one is not okay.

Drawbacks:
The second drawback isn't really a drawback. It doesn't matter if it goes supernova if you still get two full posts to do something about it, at worst an entire full post. Further the scenario in which this happens are in of itself already supper rare.

Other than that I can't really see anything that's extremely flawed, however I'll have someone else look over it next time.

KKG and damage looks ok as a rank by rank breakdown, with fusion, however, we don't allow +1 to the strength of jutsu as a clan ability, as it's an A-rank jutsu ability on its own sorry.

The rest here seems relatively ok. I would like an over-all tidyup seeing this is a Kekkei Tota clan, and should be held to the highest of quality bars. You also mist a

code in your drawbacks by the looks of things.

We need supernova values. I would also recommend it being lowered to 6 or higher (above 5) to be applicable to combat, seeing as it has to do with each technique.

Explain what +1 against star release means. IE; interacts as a rank above when two techniques interact or offensives jiton techniques against defensive joton.

Is this damage in addition to what damage the jutsu originally deals? Or is it a seperate template that the jutsu can be written to have?

does this include katon and raiton jutsu that the kaneko uses themselves?

If you are no longer flowing chakra through or into a jutsu, there is no way to maintain the control. If the jutsu is maintained without a cost, it can continue as it was already working but you will not be able to control it in any way. You could have it reduce the maintenance cost.


Drawbacks:
While Jōton is quite strong when it has time to complete fusion, it is also quite weak when it doesn't. So long as a  Jōton technique has 0 fusion points it interacts as -1 rank for all purposes.

Reduce the total fusion points before going “supernova”, in addition give a description of what happens if a jutsu does go supernova, besides ending is there another drawback?

Do all joton techniques require a charging time? Or does that mean any time they are maintaining a joton jutsu
