Clan History:
Hōuki Clan members are able to trace their ancestry back to the warring states era, where they first settled in the mountainous regions of the Land of Wind. They were a nomadic clan, and would follow where the wind blows, trying to avoid conflict whenever possible. They were noted to have allied themselves with the clan of the the man who would soon come to be known as the first Kazekage when he first started to claim dominance in the country, known for using their giant war fans when in battle.

When the village of Sunagakure was established, the Hōuki clan were given positions of varying importance due to their assistance in the wars waged to unify the country, with some members even being able to get into the personal clique of the Kage, being able to influence him on affairs of the state.

Hōuki Clan members are known for being free spirited and energetic, and begin their shinobi training from a very early age. Every member of the clan has a medium sized iron fan placed near their crib when they're born, and it's given to them as a play toy to grow up with and cherish as their own. They're trained into utilizing the fan with their wind style in order to make jutsu with increased potent, and also use their fans for close range encounters when need be.

Kekkei Genkai Name: Giant War Fan

Kekkei Genkai Description: The Hōuki Clan specializes in utilizing giant war fans as weapons while in combat. The war fan that a Hōuki uses resembles a type of rectangular metal body that is usually equipped to the users back. When opened, it resembles a large hand fan that spans more than half of the human body. Not only can it be used for wind jutsu; it can also be used as a club to knock people away or to even potentially block enemy attacks.

• Giant War Fan: A Hōuki who loses their fan can no longer be regarded as a member of the clan, so all members keep theirs very close and protected, making it their most prized possession. Every member of this clan starts with a free C+ weapon that is regarded as their fan.
