Nozomi

Nozomi

D-rank
Nozomi wasn't quite sure why she had agreed to do this sort of advanced training. Perhaps it was because Sero was as much a rival as he was her friend, but something about seeing who could push their training the furthest without killing the students appealed to Nozomi. She'd been a teacher for most of her shinobi life since she'd made Chuunin, spending as much time as possible in mostly small group sessions, but never in such a small and dedicated training session.

The group of students they had assembled were an interesting bunch, one that Nozomi thought had large amounts of potential. Many of them were people who fought well in the Chuunin Exams. Actually, upon some retrospect, almost all of them participated in some part.

Nova and Izumi, of course, from the finals, were the most promising of the bunch, having taken out each of their own competitors with relative ease. Nova had completely dominated her fights from the inside of her spider puppet, without taking any sort of damage. Nozomi would say that any puppet user would probably make it that far with strategy like that, but then again Fuyuko had defeated a puppet user who employed the same tactics, so it wasn't just the puppet that made her such a good fighter.

Izumi, on the other hand, was just a normal shinobi, who happened to excel at fire. She'd defeated almost everyone with her use of clones and fire jutsu, even Fuyuko. Nozomi knew the girl was skilled through that fight alone, having gone on a mission with Fuyuko already, and knowing her skill wasn't something to laugh at. Well, Izumi had made short work of the girl, and proved to be quite dangerous.

That wasn't to discount the others though. Fuyuko did make it to the semi finals, having an intense match against a puppet user, and barely edging out the victory, having exhausted herself in doing so though. Nozomi knew that she had to break that girl of her issues against killing if she was to be an effective kunoichi, but for now, her skill was adequate. Eventually, she'd fight people she would have no choice but to attack with lethal force, and her mindset would change. Nozomi just wished it would change sooner rather than later, before it got too hard to do and only hurt her more in the long run.

Another of the exam contestants that would be present was Hanza, who had lost quite the match against Izumi, suffering a deal of damage. Nozomi wouldn't go easy on his training even in spite of that, though, as a shinobi had to force themselves to endure all manners of pain. He was probably the most aware of that, having dealt with more pain that most of the others would have, and showed promise in that he still continued with his drive to be a shinobi, to fight, knowing the pain that he might get into.

Then there was Mokuzai Senju and Kirei Uchiha, both ninja from Konoha, who were willing to utilize the Kiri-Konoha Exchange program. Interestingly enough, Mokuzai had had some interesting matchups in the exams, havind displayed prowess that showed promise, but hadn't been able to quite make it to the semi finals. Nozomi knew nothing about Kirei other than his clan and name, as he hadn't participated in the exams.

The same things could be said on Haka Unmei and Chigetsu Hozuki. Actually more so with the Hozuki, as she at least knew what his clan was. She knew nothing about Haka, personally, but Sero seemed to be okay with her participating in this little training shindig, so she wasn't going to complain.

That said, she had gathered all of her items into her bags, and made her way to the manor. Hopefully the others would be there by the time she arrived, as she made an effort to show up slightly late so that she wouldn't have to wait for anyone to show up.

And so the day had arrived at which the camp would take place for which Fuyuko had signed up. She wasn’t quite certain however what the goal of the camp was or who else would be coming along. She was only aware of Nozomi going to take her to some place and train her. It made her feel a little bit better about the situation between the two of them. It would seem that Nozomi wasn’t that mad at her or disappointed at her for what had occurred during their mission together. Maybe this camp or field trip was devised so that they could train to get her feelings under control. So that Fuyuko would be capable of flicking the switch which would allow her to suppress her feelings about killing and harming others. As much as she disliked that thought, she knew it would be necessary to be able to reach higher places in the shinobi world. "You can do it Fuyuko! You just have to believe in yourself! Look at how well you did in the exams." She told herself as she slapped both her cheeks.

So with newfound determination she would strap on her gear. Not sure what Nozomi was planning it was better to be on the safe side and take everything with her that she had to be as prepared as she possibly could be. However she would leave her scrolls behind, not yet having fully mastered the sealing techniques to make use of them it was better to leave them behind for the time being. With her gear set, her flack jacket on and her forehead protector strapped it was time to go to the meeting point. She wanted to leave a good impression by being there well on time, leaving almost a good hour before she actually needed to be there, even if it only took her 5 minutes from her room in the manor. As she casually walked through the halls of the manor Fuyuko wondered what Nozomi could possibly make her go through that would help her with her problems. Would they go on another mission of sorts, but one where she wouldn’t be able to pass it until she killed? As cruel as it may sound it could possibly be an effective way.

Along the way she would think of several more ideas, one even worse than the one before. She shook her ahead as she reached the entrance of the garden which led to manor. Climbing up into one of the dead tree and seating herself on one of the thicker branches awaiting the arrival of Nozomi and possible others. As she waited she softly spoke aloud to herself as if she was stuck on repeat. "Killing people that broke the law is okay." Until she would notice the presence of someone at which point she would stop saying the 'mantra'.

Haka Osada

Haka Osada

Retired
Quiet as ever, the giant wolf spider crawled out of the baths on the second floor, making her way to the floor before assuming the typical human form of a thirteen year old school girl. Dusting off her skirt and petticoat and eyeing her hand as if to make sure she was actually in her human form, she walked towards the dining room. Life at the manor had become increasingly... what was the word... curious? With humans seemingly allowed to roam about, Haka had come in touch with a few of the more humane habits such as bathing, eating, getting drunk on fruit wine and overly lengthy conversations she was not sure what to do with. While it had mostly confused her to no end as to why humans even had all of these oddities, it did allow her to shape up a more humane approach to her spider life, further increasing upon her camouflage so as to keep her true killing nature hidden from the people around her.

Then, there had been the invitation to a 'death camp'. Haka had no clue what exactly that was supposed to be, but the thought of getting to kill humans seemed to predominantly cloud her perceptions. A certain 'Nozomi', whoever that may be, would be leading the camp and, in hopes to amuse herself with an occupation, Haka had signed up just as much. Today was the day the Nozomi would come to the manor to pick her up and as such Haka was now preparing herself. Checking the one kunai she always kept with her and finding it still present in her personal arsenal, the spider-nin considered herself ready as she could be.

Entering the dining room, she walked straight towards the kitchen, picked up a couple of wraps with italian ham, tomatoes and cheese, along with a handful cups of pudding before realising the servants were staring at her as if they had just seen the oddest thing happen. Starting a staring contest, they quickly met with Haka's cold gaze, her predatory nature already stirring in her aura. With a faint smile, they wished her a good day and decided it was better to go about their own business again, and were answered with an apathetic 'thank you', before she wandered away again, spoon in hand to eat the first pudding of the day. Making her way to the front door, the spider-nin opened it, stepped through and closed it again behind her, taking a seat on the stairs that lead to the manor where she continued to eat her pudding as she awaited the Nozomi.

Nova relaxed inside of Kurogokegamu with her nose in a novel in her favorite perch, being the corner in the entrance hall. Here she got to see the comings and goings, however few there were, without having to actually interact. She had met very few brave enough to come to the mansion, and even that seemed limited only to those who lived here. The portal to her puppet was left open, the cool dry air inside the manor causing Nova to curl up inside a blanket that she kept inside her puppet for that very purpose. This day however was much unlike the others, there had been quite an abnormal amount of action in the mansion today, between servants rushing through the halls preparing things and much more cooking going on than normal and an increased amount of people passing through the front door. It was not often they shifted their gaze upwards here, so very few saw the eyes from above that observe them. One individual who entered caught Nova's attention more than others, she felt as though the blonde haired nin was important but she could not place why.

Regardless of her interest, here she would stay until it was indicated that she was needed elsewhere. Another familiar face, that of Fuyuko, was spotted in the halls as well as Haka wandering towards the dining hall. Nova picked at an orange that she had snagged from the kitchen in her early morning wanderings of these halls. Though she had been assigned a room, there were often nights where she fell asleep tucked inside the puppet clinging to the ceiling. Setting her book down as she awaited whatever even she felt were to come, she laying on her back in the puppet with her head hanging out of the opening with her hair dangling down. Occasionally popping a piece of orange into her mouth as she stared at the hall, she waited.

Chigetsu Hōzuki

Chigetsu Hōzuki

Dead
The manor stood before him. It stood before him in all its majesty and elegance and wonder, and Chigetsu could not imagine a more imposing figure. He had never before entered a mansion of this size. The Hozuki castle could perhaps compare in size, but that was a building that Chigetsu would likely never have the opportunity to enter. That his request for training had been even considered in the first place, much less accepted, was something that Chigetsu hadn't expected in the slightest. Just looking up at the building itself prompted a nervous bubbly feeling inside of him. It nearly erupted out of him in anxiety driven giggles, but he was just able to hold it back. For some reason Chigetsu suspected that laughing in a situation like this could end very, very poorly for him. Nervous energy sprung around inside of him however, and with nowhere to be released it would simply result in him being much more jittery and jumpy of a child than he was normally. In the back of his mind he could recall reading through breathing techniques that were supposed to calm the nerves, and with no other option available to him Chigetsu would try them. He would take in a deep inhale, holding it for several moments before allowing the exhale to gently flow out. While it didn't have much of an immediate effect on the boy Chigetsu would continue attempting to calm his nerves in this manner, slowly beginning to close his eyes as if he were attempting to meditate in some way.

His eyes would be snapped open by the ambient chittering that seemed to echo throughout the island. Never had he been too fond of insects. Too many stories were told to him when he was a young boy about mosquitos laying their eggs inside Hozuki while they slept for him to relax around them. The last thing he wanted was some strange animal laying eggs inside of him when he wasn't looking, especially since he had heard so many rumors of what sort of things lived on this island... Do spiders lay eggs? It was something that the boy thought about for a few moments before realizing that he had no idea. It definitely seemed plausible. That strange thought had temporarily eased the male away from his anxiety. Seizing on the opportunity, Chigetsu would quickly collect himself and do his best to adopt a confident appearance. His tan overcoat would be brushed down and his belt tightened. A quick check would confirm all of his weapons were in place in his belt pouches. With everything that he could think of in place, Chigetsu would finish his last-minute preparations by giving both of his cheeks a light wake-up slap.

"Alright... You can do this, Chigetsu." He would whisper to himself, attempting to give himself encouragement where there were no others around to do so. "You can do this..." He would continuously repeat that lie under his breath as he approached the manor. Strangely enough there would be a small child who had made themselves cozy on the upward steps that led into the manor. Chigetsu's self-hyping would be interrupted as he caught sight of her, instant intrigued. As he approached it would become apparent that what she had in her hands what appeared to be a spoon and a cup of... pudding? As Chigetsu stole a second glance it became apparent that she had several with her. Pudding was quite the delicacy, one that Chigetsu had never actually been able to taste before. Luxuries like that were much beyond his means.

"Uh, excuse me!" Chigetsu would call out to her as he stood infront of the steps. He didn't make any attempt to hide himself as he approached, and so it was likely she would have noticed him long before he spoke up. "… I'm Chigetsu!" He would call out with his best impression of what a cool, confident person would sound like, subtly trying to make his voice a bit deeper. He was only able to keep that up for a moment though before the allure of food brought him back down. "...What do you have there? Is that..." He would sniff a few times at the air. "...Vanilla?"

Hanza

Hanza, having put himself through some amount of rigorous rehabilitation, needed to stretch himself further as a shinobi and reacquaint himself with the land he spent all of his childhood within. It was a new world when looking at it through the lenses of a shinobi. The opportunity that presented itself most directly was one that would call Hanza to one of the many surrounding island bodies around Kirigakure no Sato. He was to meet with some of the higher ranking members of the shinobi force of the Hidden Mist. Nozomi of the Himitsu, a Hunter-Nin of the Hidden Mist. Sero of the Osada, an infamous killer who was known to horrifically dispatch any criminals or enemies of the Mist, and resident of an island full of spiders. While not petrified of the things like many, Hanza was no fan of creepy, crawling things with an excess number of legs. He would try his best to exude uncomfortably cold temperatures around him to emulate a cold winter, hopefully deterring any sort of arachnids.

The Kōri clansman had heard nothing from his acquaintances and friends from the exams. He was certain they had no idea he had ever recovered from his coma. He had absolutely no anticipation of discovering any friendly faces at this camp. The idea of such a thing never even started to form. As he walked across a dilapidated bridge to the looming island where the event was to be held. He walked alone, coming prepared with his bag of ninja tools strapped to his belt, his Kirigakure headband tightened around his forehead, his flak jacket, a black long sleeved shirt that was extremely form fitting, and black pants that were much the same. He was prepared to take on whatever might have come his way.

As he came upon the island, he found that it was thick with forestry and uncomfortably large spiders. Hanza took no extra time rushing through it, utilizing the clearest paths he could. It had been rumored that Sero himself had quite an affinity for the arachnids, so Hanza took care in leaving them all unharmed as he navigated. There seemed no lack of corpses in the wooded areas either. Those rumors about Sero were apparently true.

When he entered into a clearing, Hanza noticed a few people standing about. Some engaging others in conversation and others sitting and keeping to themselves. Hanza took the option of bystanding. He was still feeling a little burnt out after the events that unfolded during the exams. From his position, he took no notice of Nova, the only familiar face he would have spotted at this point. He stood close to the point at which he had entered the clearing which was overlooked by a mansion of sort. The building was truly gigantic. It was enough to take up Hanza’s time waiting, as he stood studying its architecture.

Mokuzai had been walking down a path deep in a forest, as he walked he held his blade as he noticed that with each step he took the dry leaves from the tree's would making a crushing sound under the weight of his foot and it would seem their was something watching him from the darkness of the forest. The young Senju had traveled to this unknown Kirigakure no Sato island after hearing rumors about a training camp being lead by  Himitsu, Nozomi and Osada, Sero one being a highly skilled shinobi and the other one plastered as a hero or legend based on the reactions of the people Mokuzai got the information from, as a ninja from Konahagakure he didn't know if they would allow him to stay but the prospect of being trained by two such shinobi ignited his maniac training habit and he couldn't just not risk going.

As he kept carefully walking through the forest, he was now entering a area where the light shined more and the creature's that were watching him would now be partly visible with the deep shaded area of the tree's. He would notice that the creature's that stalked him were massive spider's, keeping a eye on one to his left he would take notice that it's legs were slightly curled meaning it was about to pounce on a prey and Mokuzai deduced hes about to be attacked, his careful walking  would now turn into a light run and the spider would follow him as it's legs kept on curling until Mokuzai was fully running as the spider jumped from it's branch's to the ground no more than a meter behind. The young Senju didn't know the island well but he was in no mood to be pressured by a spider, he would now use his full speed moving away in front of the spider in 9 meters in a instant and the spider would skid to a stop as he kept on running getting further and further away.

Mokuzai would now come upon a large beautiful manor and skid to a stop after he had been running for mile's through the island, on his way he had encountered the like's of spiders and pile's of corpse's making it seem that the rumor he heard of it being somewhat of a "Death Camp" might ring some truth after all, he would have some trouble dealing with the sudden change of dangerous to peaceful and safe looking as he cached his breath with the faint sounds of gasping coming from his lips.

He realized that the side of the large manor he was looking at seemed to be the backside of it, he proceeded to walk around until he was meant with a large area where it seemed others were waiting as well. A breath of relief would escape his mouth as he was glad he had made it to the camp without actually getting hurt in the process as he would find a nice shaded tree and lay against it while he waited for the camp to officially begin.

Atsuya

D-rank
It had only been a day since the Hyuga had arrived in the village of Kirigakure, yet here he was traveling once again. His brunette hair, dancing in the wind slowly died down as the small boat he had been riding neared the shore. His destination was the mysterious Spider Island, an area which he knew very little about— though he knew next to nothing of other island surrounding Kirigakure. Atsuya had traveled far from his hometown seeking power, he believed that had he stayed in Konoha… had he stayed with his only living family member, then he would never get justice for his sister, father, and mother who had been so cruelly taken away from him by a man who possessed the same white eyes that he had been born with. With his own two hands, he vowed to one day end that man's life. Today, however, he possessed neither the power nor the information needed to hunt that man down… which is exactly why he was in Spider Island. Upon his arrival in Kiri, he had heard rumors of a training camp being held on the island, and if his ears had heard correctly— the man who hosted the camp was named Sero Osada, a man whose name struck the hearts of criminals with fear whilst simultaneously earning the praise and respect of citizens throughout the village of Kirigakure no sato.

A scrunching sound was made by his wooden sandal as he made his first step to the shore. Finally  he would no longer have to deal with the boredom of travelling in a vehicle. He tossed a pouch containing fifty Ryo to the captain of the ship that had taken him to the island. After that, he was now left to the island without a way to escape. It wouldn't matter, though as he would make his way to the camp. He looked around and spotted a beaten path. Having no other choice, he followed the path hoping it would lead to his destination. According to the information he had gathered, his destination was a large Manor belonging to Sero, himself. He kept his eyes open, looking around while wandering the island. It was obvious why the island had been called what it was called. He felt as if his every move was being closely watched by the spiders in his surroundings. They didn't move, or at least not when he was looking. He almost wanted to use his byakugan to make sure no spider would reach him. He hated spiders… or more so, they hated him. The Hyuga were terrible with spiders; according to bedtime stories told by his parents— an ancestor of the Hyuga clan named Neji had once fought a giant spider and barely defeated it, ever since then the Hyuga were cursed with spiders. Or so the story went, he had always thought of the story to be nothing but stories used by the Hyuga clan to put their children to sleep, but now that he was in an island of spiders he wasn't so sure.

Suddenly the path in front of him was blocked with small black spiders. He turned back seeking to go the opposite direction, but the area he had gone through were now also blocked by spiders. He looked around, and everywhere he found them. He was surrounded save for a narrow path that he could break through. Desperate, he ran straight for the small opening; for all he knew it could have been a trap, but he had no choice. He kept running, not looking even back once. The Hyuga curse. He ran away from the spiders, yet they would come return once again to surround him save for a small opening.

Miraculously the last opening led him exactly to what he had been looking for. The Manor that he had been searching for so desperately now stood right in front of him. He dusted off the dirt, the bits of tree branches, and the leaves that stuck to his once pure white kimono robe and walked forward. A group of shinobi had already piled up in front of the Manor. Now it was only time to wait.

Kirei

completely irrelevant context:

In the dark, black cloth snakes upwards through blonde hair. Looking in the mirror, Kirei prepared for his day; tying the Konoha hitai-ate tightly around his forehead before reaching down for another cloth to tie up the excess of his gold mane. Since the other night, his hands didn't shake as much anymore; he was beginning to feel like an actual ninja. Yūji sat patiently by the far window on the opposite end of the room, the two discussed it earlier and decided the hound wouldn't need to come; a private training session like this wouldn't be of any use to the dog anyway. In lieu of words, the pair exchanged a hurried nod before Kirei marched out into the hall.

Black poncho folds were not fond of the morning wind, whipping up into Kirei's face the second he left the building. Spluttering, the Uchiha waved his hands while stumbling into the street and pulling the impromptu blindfold from his face. For all its benefits Kirei still hated the god damn weather in this country. Whatever this training ended up being, Kirei was happy to be off missions for the time being. Before moving too far, he gave himself a final check to ensure his belongings were all in place; strings of blades, wire and shuriken hung in neat rows, hidden beneath the folds of his clothing. The Mist had a long history of training its students brutally so it brought Kirei some comfort that he'd already experienced some of what it was like and came prepared for whatever this Camp would throw at him.

From the far end of the bridge, Kirei watched the silhouette of the island approach ominously. Wooden, petrified fingers clutched high into the skies above them, branches infested with the skittering brood of their master's lineage. Through the lens of intricate webbing, Kirei's final approach would lead him beneath the decrepit holy ruins causing him a moment of pause. He imagined how many people stood here to steel themselves as he was doing now. The feeling was close to the moments before that first mission, but with an edge of the unknown. Whatever looming dread encased the island from afar became palpable once the Uchiha's boot found solid earth on its shore. He willed his body onward through the path towards the island's center, eyes trying not to stray into the forest graveyards surrounding the advance. Kirei hadn't spent much time in the Mist, but already even he'd heard the stories of its most revered heroes and current leadership. Kirigakure indeed possessed tremendous power, and so beneath the trepidation, the prospect of this journey filled Kirei with ambition.

Unhindered, the Uchiha approached toward the mansion to find that he was, as usual, late as fuck. He wondered whether he was the last person to arrive or whether there was somebody even lazier than him who had yet to come. The thought of an individual possessing enough willpower to outdo Kirei's procrastination almost made him more afraid than anything else. Peppered throughout the courtyard and entrance were various individuals who Kirei assumed were each likely to be reasonably elite in their own right. With his eyes scanning around, he would slow considerably, making no effort to hide himself from anyone who would be looking for others arriving. In turn, Kirei would observe each person who wasn't making an attempt to obscure themselves either, one by one unfamiliar faces greeted him until the snowy head of a companion appeared in his vision.

With an audible release of tension, Kirei couldn't help but call out towards the front of the mansion from afar as he advanced "Hey there! What's goin' on, Oranges!"

Naturally, his yell and an energetic wave were directed towards Chigetsu who he would make his initial approach toward. Of course, the girl on the steps next to the Hozuki would be another individual likely to notice the young blonde, as well as anyone nearby with ears.

Izumi

Izumi

A-rank
Izumi was commonly fashionably late to her appointments, not because she was incapable of arriving on time but because it was a method of being in control of her situation. By dictating her arrival time the meeting would be on her terms rather than whomever she'd be visiting. Izumi also hated having to wait for people she was an impatient woman with a nasty temper. It was generally better for everyone involved if she showed up when she was comfortable. Izumi took her time getting dressed, the rumours about the place she was headed didn't do much for her motivation either. It was supposed to be the home of a monster so terrible that the villagers turned their noses up with a nasty look when it was mentioned. It had been a hell of a time finding out how to get there. She of course knew where it was, but finding a captain willing to take her there was quite the task, they just shook their heads at her no matter how much money she offered. Izumi was actually quite well off now in her adult life, she had ample lodgings and even some luxuries. The young lady should have had no problem chartering such a short journey but still, it seemed half the journey was just getting there. Luckily, Izumi was a persistent young woman and eventually found someone greedy and brave enough to take her to the strange island where the invitation had told her to come. Izumi wondered how they had known about her and why they invited her. She had some guesses, but no evidence to support any of them. Most likely it was one of the spectators at the exams that had asked her to come. She wondered who welse would be there, would be people she knew? Would they be the same age as her? What were they doing anyways? Izumi figured it was a great opportunity to get some harsher training to help her to elevate herself.

The journey wasn't too long but it was plenty unpleasant, the seas were rough and there was a constant eerie fog that only seemed to get worse as they approached their intended destination. Luckily Izumi was dressed well, and the cold didn't make her too uncomfortable, the large black coat she commonly wore since receiving it from the man she knew as the Jackal had done well to serve it's purpose. No wonder they were refusing to take me here, these seas seem like a deathwish Almost on queue, a large rock passed inches from the side of the vessel the obstacle had been unseen until it was that close causing Izumi to jump, she was able to maintain her dignity slightly by muffling the reflexive scream that tried to escape her lips upon spotting the crag. One would think the rocks would mean they were close, but that assumption was baseless the waters here were littered with obstacles and hidden perils. Whoever lived on this island did not to be found easily. Izumi was happy she brought her journal and was taking this chance to write an exciting account of her journey. Izumi would also be sure to write about her adventures at the camp and of the strange figure or figures that had invited her. Izumi thanked the captain and even paid him double for taking her all the way to shore, before she set off she also made sure to personally thank the man's crew for taking on such a treacherous journey and wished them luck and prosperity in their futures.

At long last her harrowing ordeal was over, they had arrived at the island known only to her as Spider Island. It was not entirely clear where she was supposed to go once arriving, all the letter had said was 'follow the spiders' and had a picture of a dreary looking mansion that had the appearance of something ripped straight from an old horror story. It turned out the words weren't as cryptic as they seemed, there was a trail of spiders heading in one direction deeper into the island. This must have been what they meant, whoever it was definitely eccentric, Izumi however liked his use of theatrics it felt so grand and mysterious. Like she was a part of something important and larger than herself. Sure enough the trail lead her to a lofty mansion that was almost definitely haunted or would be sometime in the near future. Upon entering its opulent halls, Izumi would recognize most of the people already there. There was Fuyuko, Hanza, Chigetsu, even Kirei the young Uchiha she had taken on a mission to silence some undesirables. However Izumi was happiest to see Nova, the young lady whom had become something of a rival, she was also probably her closest friend at this stage in her life. Nova would rush to greet the young woman grabbing her in a tight hug and excitedly greeting her hoping to catch up with what she'd been up to since they'd gotten back to Kiri. “Nova! I'm so happy to see you here. This place is kind of weird huh? Any idea who's in charge?” After her tunnel visioned greeting of Nova, Izumi would look around and notice that were a few unfamiliar faces as well, and one person she'd recognized but had never officially met, that was Mokuzai Senju the gritty boy from the Leaf Village who had shown some surprising cunning in his time during the exams. While she didn't recognize the other figures in the room she got a sense they were students as well, it seemed Izumi was just on time by her standards. She eagerly awaited some sign of their new mentors curious as to what all the extravagance was leading to.

When it looked like everyone had gathered together, Nozomi took a moment to appraise the room around her. She'd already gone through a list in her head of who was an actual threat to her here, and it wouldn't be a surprise that none of the other 9 gathered were really any sort of threat against her. Arguably, the only one who might be able to provide some sort of challenge would be Nova, as puppets were quite durable and she used them as armor to protect herself, but even then, Nozomi wasn't too worried about it.

She let them mingle together a little bit, talk and discuss whatever for the time being, but that was soon going to draw to an end. Moving to the center of the room, Nozomi brought her hands together in a loud clap. "Alright, listen up everybody. There are a lot of you, so I don't want a lot of overlapping talk. I'm still a bit tired after my fight with Lamya." she said, recalling the match with the Missing-nin who was partially responsible for the destruction of Suna, an event that had led to more than one of the current present shinobi to be here today. "Between myself and Sero, you are all going to be subjected to an intensive training sequence over the next few weeks. Some of you are chuunin already, some of you are still genin, but by the end of this, you'll all be quite a deal more prepared for combat."

She folded her hands behind her back. "All of you are Kirigakure shinobi now, or you're Konohagakure military, which due to our alliance with your nation also means you're Kirigakure military. I don't ever want to see a tragedy like what happened to Sunagakure befall any of our nations. Sunagakure fell to a group of 3 powerful shinobi. Mitsuo Sarutobi, Orochi Risu, and an as of yet unidentified third. It can be assumed they are all powerful Jounin considering, but even so, I was able to single handedly fight one of them to a stand still, running out her chakra in an exhibition with her, and I'd wager she was above me physically, with a larger chakra supply. I'm going to teach the 9 of you how to deal with threats far beyond your skill level."

Looking over to Nova and Izumi pointedly, she gestured. "These two were fantastic showmen during the Chuunin Exams. If Suna had more shinobi like them, perhaps it would have been able to withstand its woes. I'm not here to shit on Suna, I'm just telling it like it is. But now that they're one of us, we'll make sure that this new home of theirs never falls while any of us yet stand. I know you all have different reasons for showing up for this coarse, but one thing you'll all take out of it is a growth in strength you wouldn't be likely to achieve in the same amount of time on your own."

Grabbing her bag, she slung it over her shoulder, and headed towards the door, moving to go out to the courtyard where there was much more open space, beckoning for everyone to follow along. Once they were assembled again, she dropped her bag near the fountain, and faced them. "The first portion of your training is going to be hands on training, as I find that fighting is the best way to build experience. I'm not at peak performance right now, but I'm still quite enough to deal with the lot of you, so its a fair handicap. I'll stretch this out as long as possible, but the fight will end when either I can't fight any longer, you manage to subdue me, or you all run out of steam and can't continue yourselves. You may begin at any point you wish. Use any amount of lethality you want, there are healing waters that can tend to any injuries sustained."

Moving into one of her clan's classic stances, it was almost a perfect mockery of the Hyuuga Clan's Gentle Fist style, although she couldn't utilize it in the same manner as they could. Her eyes scanned around the others, eager to see what they could all do.

Fuyuko

Fuyuko

A-rank
Fuyuko sat in the tree for a while as she kept trying to calm her emotions. She had stopped talking to herself aloud when she heard the manor’s door opening behind her and saw Haka walking out of it. She was uncertain how close Haka would come to her and didn’t want to reveal what she was struggling with. While Haka seemed like a nice person, Fuyuko wasn’t certain if she was the perfect candidate to talk about the matters that troubled the young kunoichi’s mind. She kept gazing into the distance, scanning the surrounding areas to find out who would all end up showing. The first other person to arrive that wasn’t already present at the manor was Chigetsu. Fuyuko had spent one mission together, he was a nice kid that had a good heart, but seemed somewhat afraid or hesitant during the combat situation. Even if she commanded him to act as back-up his suggestions before that were enough to at least confirm that thought she had of him. Her eyes slowly followed Chigetsu’s movements as he made his way to the manor, the body language he portrayed was clearly that of someone that was angsty, to the point that she went completely unnoticed despite him walking right underneath her. He would eventually stop on the steps to the manor and seemingly converse with Haka. She felt somewhat sorry for him and made her chuckle a little bit, lightening her mood by a fraction.

The next one was to arrive was Hanza as fellow participator of the Chuunin Exams and who, just like her, had received a promotion to Chuunin as a result from the exams. Besides that Fuyuko knew very little of him, the two locked eyes shortly before her gaze would move away from him and continue scouting the area. Shortly after Hanza another Chuunin Exam participator would show up, however this time it wasn’t someone that was from Kirigakure. It was Mokuzai, a shinobi from Konohagakure, it came as a bit of a surprise to her to see shinobi from Konoha participating in this camp as well, but it wasn’t out of the realm of possibilities seeing as Kiri and Konoha had a strong alliance.  After him two more Konoha shinobi would make their appearance, however these two would be completely unknown to her. Finally Izumi would also show up at the manor. Fuyuko was slightly conflicted about how she felt about that. On one hand it made her happy, to be able to potentially battle Izumi again and potentially beat her in battle this time around. However on the other hand the encounter they shared in the café in Kumogakure was still fresh on her mind, reminding her of how careless she was with talking to her and Nova.

She shook the feeling away as she saw Nozomi appear and jumped out of the tree she had been positioned in. Making her way back into the manor to the designated room where they would be addressed. She didn’t really feel like talking to anyone at this point in time and tried to stay focused as things were about to start. If Nozomi was the teacher there wasn’t really any room for not having your focus completely on the task ahead. She wasn’t sure if anyone else here had experienced a glimpse of her strength firsthand, but she did. Which made her know that not devoting your full attention could lead to devastating results.

Fuyuko patiently listened as Nozomi addressed the room of Shinobi that had gathered to receive the training. It left Fuyuko slightly surprised when she talked about fighting one of the aggressors that attacked Sunagakure. She wasn’t capable of watching any of the Exhibition matches after being hospitalized. However that she ended up winning the match did not come to much of a surprise to her. Nozomi’s next comment about how both Nova and Izumi had performed fantastically during the exams slightly hit a sore spot and made her clench her fist. While Fuyuko knew she did a good job reaching the semi-finals, she was knocked-out of it almost instantly by Izumi. She had to do better, she would show she could do better during camp.

When Nozomi would guide the group outside Fuyuko would shortly place her hand on top of Chigetsu’s head again, if the boy was afraid or nervous it might help him calm his nerves again. “It’s going to be alright.” She spoke softly without looking at him. The instructions Nozomi gave were clear. This time around Fuyuko wasn’t going to wait around to see what would happen. While the instructions were still coming in Fuyuko would grab hold of one of her coins and start running her raiton chakra through her arm. She wasn’t going to fire it until Nozomi would be prepared. While that would probably throw away the chance of hitting her, it wasn’t in Fuyuko’s nature to attack when the teacher wasn’t done talking to the ‘class’. When Nozomi took up her stance Fuyuko would raise her arm and jump back slightly. Nozomi was way too dangerous to fight in close combat, at the very least without the help of the others. Being about 7 meters away from her Fuyuko gave a flick to the coin sending it straight at Nozomi aimed right between her collarbones.

Haka Osada

Haka Osada

Retired
"Uh, excuse me!… I'm Chigetsu!"

His voice sounded far too cheerful to Haka. His snow-white hair, though similar to hers, was short and unruly rather than the elegant grace hers shared with Sero, and his red eyes lacked any form of murderous intent. Much like the other humans she had met so far, this boy too seemed to prefer a gentle approach in hopes to be 'liked' rather than to follow the natural approach of the all-conquering, brutal ways humans had been using to spread throughout the world. At least his senses were sharp enough to notice that she was holding pudding, and he could guess what flavour right of the bat at that. Naturally, Haka was not to indulge in a lengthy conversation about the nature of her pudding just because some human had been able to guess it, but since he had asked her a question she guessed she owed him an answer, at least. Or in this case, a confirmation.

"It is."

Compared to Chi's voice, who had sounded cool and confident, her was soft and apathetic like the mists that surrounded the manor. If her monstrous aura did not reveal her general disdain for the world around her, the fact she simply popped another spoonful of vanilla pudding in her mouth in front of Chigetsu would tell him enough that she either did not care for his interest in the food or simply did not register the subtle hint of wishing to taste the pudding that was rather typical to humans. Her amber eyes had not left Chigetsu's during all this time, however, as she tried to figure out why there was yet another human wandering the Island. Where she would have assumed it was yet another visitor for her father, being invited to the Death Camp herself quite pushed out the assumption out of the window and offered the option that, perhaps, this human was not here to see her father. There was only one way to be sure, and that was by asking questions.

"Why are you here?", she asked Chigetsu as soon as her mouth was empty, then popped another spoonful of vanilla pudding into her mouth, once more her eyes not leaving his as she was now expecting an answer.

Her attention was slightly interrupted when she spotted movement in the distance. The figure approached them to a certain extend, then halted, his head slightly rising as his eyes observed the entire construction that formed the manor behind Haka. The distance too far to make a proper assessment on who or what he was exactly, Haka's gaze returned to Chigetsu as he was about to answer her question.

Little time passed when Chigetsu gave his answer when yet another person appeared from the side of the manor. A sigh of relief seemed to escape the boy as he took note of the couple of other people that were gathering in front of the manor, but rather than to come closer he opted to take some rest at a nearby tree. Seeing he had no intention of being a thread to them or to the manor, Haka once more lost interest quickly and fixated her gaze upon Chigetsu again.

And it didn't stop there. Through the branches of the the island's forest, oddly hunted by a nest of tinier spiders as if they urged him to move into the right direction rather than to remain lost within the forests, Haka already considered the man lucky he had not encountered the broader wolf spiders that generally lurked in the area, awaiting another hapless victim lost in the island's confines so they could hunt him down for dinner. That very thought alone was enough for Haka to have her gaze linger slightly longer on the body wearing a dirty white kimono, but as she put another spoon of pudding into her mouth, her attention dissipated to look at the boy before her once again.

"Hey there! What's goin' on, Oranges!"

Once more a new face revealed itself, shouting boisterously in greeting. The blonde youngster, seemingly about the age of Haka's human appearance, actually made his way towards the steps of the manor and seemingly had the most interest for Chigetsu. As he approached, the spider-nin observed his movements, his clothes, his countenance. He was clearly of the more energetic sort, which was a contrast to the dark eyes he had, much like Haka's apathetic attitude was a contrast to her own amber eyes. Even then, the boy looked as casual as any other human since Haka could not perceive anything unusual about him that might betray him as being something else. With her first analysis of the Uchiha complete, all that remind to understand now was why he called them 'oranges' when they people here clearly were no pieces of fruit.

"No oranges here.", she stated to Kirei once he was within hearing distance, and popped another spoon of vanilla pudding in her mouth, finishing the first cup with that. Not bothering to scrape it out to the last, she placed the cup gently on the side and moved to open the second cup of pudding she was holding.

At that time, a redheaded woman appeared at the end of the trail, moved closer with feverish determination in her eyes and walked passed all the people without so much as a word. Once she had entered the manor, her unfamiliar voice spoke to reach out to Nova, a resident the spider-nin was rather familiar with after the whole ordeal with the fruit wine, before she seemed to snap out of her tunnel vision and took note of the other people that had gathered at the mansion.

Then appeared Nozomi, seizing up every one of the individuals in turn. She had an exhausted look about her, which was clarified as she revealed her fight with a certain Lamya. As Nozomi explained that the Death Camp was some sort of an intensive training organised by her Creator and herself, Haka took another spoonful of vanilla pudding, wondering already why her father would be bothering to train humans in the first place when he clearly had Miyu and herself to spend time with. Still, she said nothing about it, preferring to listen to whatever more bits of information this new person had to share.

Revealing that most of these people were allied to Kirigakure, Haka mentally scrapped the idea of tormenting or killing any of those during the contradictory titled 'Death Camp', and since Konohagakure, too, seemed to be in league, the spider-nin felt like their training regimen would already fail to honour its name, leaving her to wonder what the 'Death' part of the camp would exactly entail. Nozomi then proceeded to praise two of the people that were present, Nova and Izumi, of which only one was known to Haka, before she heard Nozomi be of a mind that Sunagakure would have been faring better if they had shinobi like these two. An odd statement, since Haka felt her Creator was clearly more powerful than these two combined, wondering why then Sunagakure was not wished two Sero's to deal with the thread instead.

However, Nozomi left little room for thoughts as she continued her speech, granting them the actual permission to attack her in any way it pleased them. The idea appealing to the spider-nin, she took a last bit of pudding before putting all of her cups away and rose to her feet as she ran her hand through her silver hair. With Nozomi readying herself with a battle stance, Fuyuko instantly jumped back to prepare a coin, which she flicked at Nozomi before releasing chakra in the form of a merciless beam too fast for Haka to perceive properly. Raiton. Though the spider-nin was not familiar with an element of that sort, she certainly could recognise the use of chakra into an attack that seemed much like very streamlined lightning.

Whether the attack hit or not, Haka would observe Nozomi's movement and react to those accordingly with her own technique. Unless Nozomi was of a mind to set up a barrier of sorts against Fuyuko's beam, Haka would mold chakra within her mouth and spit it out at Nozomi's new position in hopes to have the chakra webbing stick her to whatever nearby obstacle. Even if the technique would miss, much like a 'coordinated' mass of spiders, if hers failed it might as well serve as a distraction for the others to get their techniques going.

If Nozomi would opt for a protective means, however, Haka would do nothing but observe the situation as the Railgun would clash with Nozomi's protective measures.

In any of the cases, Haka would drain the nearby fog's humidity to create a blob of water that would split itself in a handful of smaller balls, all of them orbiting around her as it awaited her next move.

A-rank
As Nova spotted Haka wandering out the front door with a bowl of pudding in her hands, Nova decided to follow her out the front door. Descending the wall in her puppet, Nova would settle it to the floor in the corner besides the entryway besides her newer puppet that sat there as well. Like leaving ones shoes at the entryway she would leave her puppet just inside the the door when not in use. Combing her fingers through her messy hair she would straighten her kimono. It was her typical attire, dark emerald green silk dotted with spider embroidery layered over a thin grey tank top and black shorts. Her prosthetic leg had been tended to after the damage it had taken from her time in the exams, and now gleamed with new layers of varnish over its mahogany wood. After making the decision to reside in the manor outside of Kiri, she had decided that she ought to finally make the commitment to her new village and replaced the plate on the front of the faux knee cap. She would no longer need to wear the Kiri headband tied around the Suna plate, though the faceplate she removed sat wrapped up carefully in her sparse belongings. Stretching her leg and rolling her shoulder she slowly walked down the steps to the manor, smiling as she walked by Haka and a familiar face who seemed to be trying to have a conversation with the usually stoic and silent spider-girl about her choice in snack. It didn't take much to recall her meeting of him, she had first spoke to him under the premise of a poorly tossed piece of cutlery nearly impaling a young girl though it was definitely not an act of malice. Nova suspected that the boy, Chigetsu, was not one to act with ill intent towards anyone. Walking by smiling at the both of them she adjusted to the cold damp weather outside, the mist swirling around her sending a ripple of goosebumps up her exposed skin.

There were a few people gathered around the clearing, Nova stopped at the edge of the courtyard and looked around. From across the clearing she spotted another familiar face, that of Hanza who had also competed in the chuunin exams. She was almost relieved to see him here, though she had not watched the battle between him and Izumi she had heard that he had taken a considerable injury from their fight that had put him in a coma for a while. Further off in the very edge of the treeline Nova spotted another body, and though she did not immediately recognize him he looked familiar making Nova think perhaps he had been another competitor in the exams. Slowly more people would gather in and around the courtyard. Another unfamiliar face would approach, and though Nova did not recognize the person himself she was able to easily identify his clan from his signature eye color that was indicative of their Hyuga blood. Next to approach would be a boy that Nova had actually met in Kiri prior to this gathering, an uchiha boy by the name of Kirei. Nova had shared an afternoon with him in Kiri on one of her travels to the city and eaten lunch with him, as well as having told him of this place. 'I wonder if perhaps that might be why he decided to come here, or if there was some other incentive for him, she would think to herself upon seeing him. Kirei would go directly toward Chigetsu who he greeted with familiarity. Including herself, she counted eight bodied waiting around the courtyard expectantly, though for what she was unsure. Nova wasn't even quite sure why there was such a gathering at all, and wondered what Lord Osada might have planned. Nova had placed herself nearby the steps up to the mansion while looking around, and after looking off into the distance with a somewhat bored expression on her face she would be pulled out of the daydream she was in after spotting a bright red mane of hair approaching the mansion up the forested path.

A smile would spread across her face, while she recognized all but two of the shinobi that were gathered around the one that would approach her was probably the person she might be closest with if nothing else for shared experiences. Izumi Karisuma had been from Suna like Nova, as well as having to flee its destruction, then to compete together and against eachother in the exams, both joining Kiri, and most recently having survived an attack on the pair of them with the aid of the Mizukage; all this leaving them with the most shared experiences of anyone Nova knew. Her pace was already brisk, but upon seeing Nova, Izumi would sprint towards her and embrace her. Nova would hug her back tightly, glad to see her here even if she was unsure for the reason of the gathering. Now standing besides her, Izumi would scan the crowd for herself, seemingly to have found a few familiar faces of her own, before she turned to Nova and inquired who was in charge here. “You get kinda used to the weirdness”, Nova would shrug and continue, “I would assume Lord Osada would be in charge... though I haven't seen him myself recently. Not that that is uncommon to be fair.”. Nova was just as unsure of what would be happening or under who's charge it would be, and waited quietly listening to the chatter around her.

The group would slowly quiet as a blond woman would approach. It was a recognizable face, from before the exams those would have known her as one of the seven swordsmen, but now she held another accomplishment; beating Lamya in a fight. Though she had won it more than handily, her body language spoke to the exhaustion she was sure to be feeling before she even stated it. She would bring her hands together in a clap to silence the chatter that had already begun to taper off at her arrival and look at the group around her. In total there were nine, a mixture of genin and chuunin all wearing the symbol from either Konoha or Kiri, in a semi-circle around her. She would address them and through that would reveal the meaning of her presence, between herself and Lord Osada the group would be receiving combat training from some of the best shinobi known. Nozomi would gesture towards where Nova and Izumi stood by the mansions entrance, ”These two were fantastic showmen during the Chuunin Exams. If Suna had more shinobi like them, perhaps it would have been able to withstand its woes. I'm not here to shit on Suna, I'm just telling it like it is. But now that they're one of us, we'll make sure that this new home of theirs never falls while any of us yet stand.”. The words struck Nova more powerfully than she had expected, what she said about Suna having more shinobi like that had struck a nerve, Nova had wondered herself what the outcome might have been had there been a better trained force to protect the city, or even if perhaps there was more that she ought to have been able to do herself. It took a moment to brush away the unexpected emotion, but felt comforted in the fact that Nozomi had welcomed them as part of Kiri with pride.

Nova listened intently to the what Nozomi said, eyes following her as she walked towards the fountain and set down her bag. Nova was surprised at what came next, the proclamation that the first portion of training would be to attack Nozomi herself. As the stronger shinobi shifted into a fighting stance, Nova began preparing her own strategy with eyes still scanning around at the rest of the training group. Immediately Fuyuko would hop backwards and flick a small glinting object in Nozomi's direction. Simultaneously, Haka would gather water seemingly from the mist around them forming several large blobs of water that slowly orbited the girl.

Nova stood still, with the exception of her fingers which began to twitch sporadically as thin emerald threads sprung from their tips. They glowed with Nova's chakra as they wove their way backwards, extending from the tips of her fingers on her left hand and connecting with the mansion's door knob for just a moment. She was so adept with the chakra tendrils she turned the handle with the threads, the wooden door swinging outwards and revealing the mansions interior yet again. The strings would detach from that, moving inside the mansion doors towards the pair of puppets that sat just inside. The bundle of threads would separate in half entirely through, one group touching to Doku Tsuki, Nova's new puppet, and the other attached itself to Kurogokegamu. They would twitch to life, looking as if demons had possessed the eldritch creations as they rose to their spindly legs. Doku Tsuki had not yet moved from its position in the corner yet, this would be the first chance Nova would get to use her newest creation. The weeks prior to this she had spend studying and spending most of her day working in and around the hulking scorpion. As they skittered against the stone out to the front of the building they would approach Nova, one on each side of her. She would glide her hand against the arachnoid puppet to her right, infusing it with a small amount of chakra. At the same time her left hand would flick upwards which would cause a series of clicks to emanate from the scorpion puppet to her left. A cushioned bed would be revealed, nearly coffin-like in how beautiful it was.

This all happened in a matter of seconds, her puppets joining her side in batte. Nova would lay flat on the cushion and the metallic shell would slide back down, clicking as the mechanism that held it close was locked. She could see clearly through the one sided glass panel, though her opponent could not see her within. But in addition to the frontward vision this would give her, through her chakra strings that connected to Doku Tsuki she felt.... everything through the ground. Like a finely tuned instrument, Nova would experience vibrations through her fingertips in such detail that she could feel the area around her. Without looking she could “see”; the building behind her, the puppet beside her, the other individuals in the courtyard. She could even feel the movement of each drop of water from the fountain as it struck. She could feel the bugs in the earth and the movement of the trees in the wind at the edge of the courtyard. Nova had spent weeks researching this modification for Doku Tsuki, and it make her heart swell with pride when she experienced it for the first time.

Through her puppets “mouth” area, a small bundle of strings would lead out to control the puppet besides her, a few thin emerald threads connecting them. Nova had preemptively loaded a single razor web into Kurogokegamu the second she had finished Doku-Tsuki, planning to add a mod to load several ammunition inside of Kurogokegamu automatically rather than having to manually do it. her remaining ammunition in the spiraling chamber hugging the scorpion's glinting barb at the end of its tail. Nova would skitter off to the left inside Doku Tsuki, while Kurogokegamu would veer backwards to the mansions front and climbed up to its peak to turn and face the fountain from above. Doku-Tsuki's claws would click closed menacingly and its tail would sway from side to side while arched upwards prepared to strike. Kurogokegamu was maybe 15 meters up, and without any indication beforehand, Doku-Tsuki would start digging at the ground with its claws adeptly. Dirt from the garden they stood in flew upwards, flowing down from the puppets back through the ruddy green/black metal spikes as the scorpion deftly tunneled out of sight. From the upturned dirt the emerald thread still connected to Kurogokegamu up the wall, but even without looking through Kurogokegamu's eyes she would “see” everything bit of movement on the earth for what felt like forever. Nova recalled Nozomi's shape and size, which she could feel through minute vibrations from just a human's bodily functions. Doku Tsuki would tunnel beneath the ground and placed itself directly below Nozomi eight meters below her. The earth was so soft from the constant moisture in this country that tunneling was easy, not even disrupting the earth above her. Here she would wait, deafening silence touching her ears and blinding darkness in her eyes, though perfect vision and hearing around her. Her heartbeat sounded like a drum while she waited for whatever would happen on the surface.

Chigetsu Hōzuki

Chigetsu Hōzuki

Dead
This girl was interesting, for sure. There was something about her, some quality that Chigetsu couldn't put his finger on, that stuck out. She had a clear elegance in her appearance that only grew more distinct and noticeable when Chigetsu approached. Pale skin and white hair were their only shared attributes, with the issue of refinement taking shape beyond that. Her hair was well maintained and beautiful in comparison to his own, an unruly mess that went in every direction when not slicked down with water. Her style of dress appeared elegant and fashionable, a well matching skirt and petticoat. His would be dusty and haphazard, loose-fitting and dated; their only virtue being cleanliness. She would have a mouthful of pudding, and Chigetsu, in his poverty, had never even thought of pudding as anything more than a wispy dream to be chased after. Without the support of his clan the boy would be lean, his appetite controlled by the meager earnings being a genin provided him.  Before him was the grandiose image of the manor, in its elegance towering over him a thousand meters. The stairs where Haka sat became an endless staircase, each step ten meters higher than the last. Impossibly dark shadows hung down over him, swallowing Chigetsu whole. Even in the darkness he would feel Haka's presence, a looming predator glaring down from above.

"Why are you here?"

The smell of vanilla snapped him back to reality. With the haze now removed from his mind he would meet her eyes with his own. She seemed a woman of few words, but that was not a problem. Words were more than anything else Chigetsu's weakness. The less of them used the less vulnerable he would reveal himself to be. With a new spoonful of vanilla pudding entering her mouth, it almost felt as if she were mocking him. A quick glance would be stolen at her cup of pudding before he would formulate a response. "I'm here for the Death Camp." That's why he was here on the island. As for why he was standing directly in front of her like that still, he didn't mention the answer to that. Very quickly he was deciding that the only acceptable course of action was to steal a cup of pudding from this girl. How he would do that was the problem. For a while after his simple response, neither of the two would speak. Every so often Haka's eyes would flicker away, moving to catch some slight motion in the distance. It would provide a lucky convenience for the male, and as he saw her break eye contact the first time he would strike. From the toe of his leather boots would extend a delicate thread of moisture, inching forward through the moist ground in front of the manor. The benefits of his clan were apparent, along with his training to manipulate his form. The plan was simple: Distract her long enough that he could snatch away a cup of pudding. It was easy for the water thread to move subtly through the already damp dirt, but when it would get to the steps it would be a different story. He would have to find some way to keep her attention. His mind scrambling now, Chigetsu would clear his throat.

"You're here for it too, right...?" He would attempt to keep eye contact, resisting the urge to look at the liquid thread that was now crawling up the first step. Chigetsu would tug at his collar. "U-Uh... I couldn't help but notice, but your hair is very pretty." Girls liked it when you said nice things about their hair, right? Chigetsu had no idea if that was true, but it sounded right. His attempt at making a distraction was likely doomed from failure, even if he weren't suddenly surprised by the scream. "Hey there! What's goin' on, Oranges!" Kirei's voice would ring in his ears, and all at once the concentration he had been using to silently urge the thread of water forward would collapse. Chigetsu would nearly hop an inch off the ground, turning around in panic to stare at the other male. His eyes would be wide for a moment, as if he had been caught doing something that he shouldn't have. Considering he was right in the middle of attempted grand theft pudding, perhaps that was the appropriate response. "O-Oranges?" Chigetsu would shake his head for a moment, remembering back to that painful night of having to dilute the orange juice out of his system. "Kirei, I'm not orange anymore... My name is Chigetsu, did you forget?" He would state this with a bit of a frown, not entirely understanding the nickname.

In his tunnel vision somehow Chigetsu had missed the others that collected around the clearing in front of the manner. The pursuit of pudding was perhaps an understandable reason to be distracted in Chigetsu's eyes, but he doubted very many others would feel the same. Nova and another girl embracing would be the next thing that he noticed, their display of affection immediately catching his eyes. It would take a moment of uncomfortable staring from Chigetsu to recognize the other girl as Izumi, having watched her fight during the exams. Looking around now there were quite a few exam participants in this gathering, many seeming to have snuck up while Chigetsu hadn't been paying attention. Other than just Kirei and Nova, Chigetsu managed to spot Mokuzai as another familiar face. He was somebody that Chigetsu was familiar with, meeting him during the exams in a sparring match and by chance again in Kirigakure. Their relationship was odd at times, switching between friendly and violent, but either way Chigetsu was glad to see him. Along with him was Fuyuko, another participant from the Chunin Exams. Chigetsu had no idea how he hadn't noticed her earlier. While they had only met a while ago, the mission they had done together had been extremely memorable, at least to Chigetsu. The following week he had spent time to reflect on it, conversing with his kunai about what he should have done. Watching the way that Fuyuko brutalized those bandits without a second thought had been important for him though. The urge to walk over to her and say something rose within him, but very quickly he realized he didn't know at all what to say.

However, as soon as he spotted another face Chigetsu would be unable to not say something. "Hanza!?" The sheer shock of seeing the other male was strong enough to make him shout like that. The last place that Chigetsu had seen Hanza was in a hospital bed, in critical condition after having his skull injured at the Chunin Exams. The moment stood out among all others in the exams for Chigetsu, enough so that he had written a poem specifically for the other boy. The poem was written with the assumption that Hanza was going to die though, and to see that the boy was alive, and likely had read what had been wrote for him, sent Chigetsu into a combination of fear, shock, and confusion. "You're alive?" There would be no time to sort out all the emotions that Chigetsu had running through him in this moment. Being surrounded by so many people, even if they were people he was familiar with to an extent, was overwhelming. Now that Chigetsu was properly overwhelmed, Nozomi, their teacher would approach. Nozomi, one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. After realizing who she was Chigetsu would have the urge to drop down on his knees and bow in respect to the woman. He would have too, if his legs had been working properly in that moment. Even though this was what was advertised as being a part of the Death Camp training, seeing such a famous hero was much different than imagining meeting them. He was unable to speak. Luckily for him, it didn't seem as if he needed to. Nozomi would quickly take over, explaining the purpose of the group and bringing everyone else to a silence. Her mention of a fight immediately caught Chigetsu's attention, and he would watch aptly with wide eyes as she spoke, eating up every word. The story of Sunagakure's fall was shocking, and although Chigetsu knew part of the story from the refugees it was surprising to hear the entire village had apparently fallen. It was times like these that he was especially grateful that he had been born into the Land of Water and had the privilege to serve in the Kirigakure military.

After leading the group into the courtyard would come the shocking part. A fight involving the group of them, even with their advantage in numbers, against somebody like Nozomi would surely be a massacre. That she had successfully been able to fight off Layma, who was supposedly stronger than her, was an inspiring tale, but Chigetsu had no idea how something like that could be replicated in this situation. A certain tenseness filled his body, the kind that showed up when an impending doom was apparent. Even with the dampness and cooler temperature, Chigetsu began to sweat. Perhaps he should have expected a situation like this but in the moment he was lost on how to proceed. Even if it was something that would surely lead to his doom Chigetsu was obligated to put himself forward, unwilling to disobey an order or let an opportunity like this pass. His mind would be scrambled like an egg though, and it was in moments like this that he wondered if perhaps he never should have left home.

"It's going to be alright."

The presence of Fuyuko's hand on top of his head would interrupt all of those thoughts. Although he wouldn't dare take his eyes off Nozomi in the moment, the physical contact uncoiled what was winding up inside of him. His anxiety would flow out of him with a sigh. For a moment he would be calm. Perhaps not as prepared as he should have been, but a lot less jelly-legged than he was earlier. Then everything would happen at once. Fuyuko would jump back from where she had been standing, and a shot of concentrated raiton would pass right by him immediately afterward, too fast to notice anything but the after effects. Even if he could only see a blur, the sheer power of it would send a wave of static through his body that kept him on his toes. In his peripheral vision he could vaguely notice Haka doing something with water, but his attention would quickly focus to Nozomi and his own actions. His hands would flutter together into the tiger sign, and from the moisture in the ground a water clone would rise directly in front of him. The clone was formed close, and it would only take a moment for him to touch it's back. A bit of his chakra would enter the clone, and likewise, a bit of the clone's chakra would enter him before it would be sent off. Immediately the clone would collapse down into the ground again, shifting into the form of a puddle low to the ground. His ability to mold his own shape would come in handy for this, and the clone would be able to easily move through the damp ground without making too much of a fuss. It wouldn't be that hard to notice a moving puddle normally, but when Nozomi was distracted with so many other people Chigetsu would figure he might have some luck. These events would take a matter of seconds, and the puddle-clone would be off in an attempt to encircle Nozomi. It would attempt to travel around her, moving until it was roughly five meters behind her in preparation. The real Chigetsu would quickly draw a kunai and fistful of senbon into his hands, holding the kunai in his left arm and using his right to throw one of the needles towards her, aiming for the center of mass. His senbon would be thrown in conjunction with Haka's chakra webbing, leaving his hand not too long after she had cast the jutsu, assuming she did. Even if Nozomi used a defensive measure Chigetsu would still throw the senbon though, wishing to test the limits of her jutsu should she use one. His stance would be would be more defensive in nature though, not quite ready to attack head on. Positioned in front of Fuyuko, he would be ready in case Nozomi decided to rush forward and take to close quarters combat. While there likely wasn't very much that he would be able to do against her, being at the very least a distraction that his allies could use to their advantage. If he was lucky it wouldn't come to that though, and he would be able to pull his little surprise attack off. If it came down it it, well... The image of his liquid body being used to conduct the electricity from one of those coins to hit Nozomi in a surprise attack came to mind.

There was so much going on. The sound which seemed to slowly permeate through Hanza’s skull was excruciating. He winced for a moment with the gathered group of participants reaching what appeared to be its maximum occupancy. The cast of characters was diverse. A single extremely familiar face walked passed Hanza without a word. A red haired woman, Izumi. She made her way straight over to who appeared to be Nova, another woman Hanza was familiar with. He didn’t much expect a warm reception. Nor was he sure why it stung so badly that after recovering from what he was told was an extremely lengthy coma. A coma that Izumi Karisuma had caused, during the course of their fight during the chunin exams.  He was sore over that, but he would breathe deeply and hold back.

He heard a shout at that moment. An unfamiliar voice, and then an unfamiliar face as well. The young man called out to Hanza in shock and awe, he was clearly very surprised that the Kōri clansman had survived. There could have only been one other person, at least from Hanza’s knowledge, who had paid him a visit in the hospital.

Spring will come again. But not for me, Chigetsu.

It seemed the time had come to commence activities. Nozomi stepped before them. After a lengthy conversation regarding the nature of the training and the way they would be going about it, One piece of the conversation rocked Hanza at his very foundation. It was unusual that the young man was so effected by the destruction of Suna, as he had never been there before. But something about that loss of life on such a massive scale really, deeply shook him. Nozomi had allowed Lamya to escape. And she seemed unphased by that on the surface. She would either show her emotions on the matter and answer for it, or she would beat Hanza into submission. He didn’t mind the reaction at this point, he was fuming.

The others began to attack before Hanza, as he had some words to exchange with this teacher. His head banged painfully as he prepared to speak. Ignoring the assault that had already been launched at Nozomi. If she couldn’t manage that onslaught and answer him, what did she have to teach in the first place?

She escaped? You allowed her to make her way back into the world after what she has done?” Hanza clenched his fist and his teeth, looking Nozomi directly in her eyes. Beneath him would form several pools of liquid nitrogen below the grounds’ surface. “If that is your example for teaching us, might I take a group of genin and teach them how to win the chunin exams as an equivalent? That’s an empty promise. Do not stand before us without a flicker of remorse as you tell us you’ve failed to eliminate someone who killed so many.

At 15 m/s, four of the five nitrogen deposits would rush forth to trace and follow as closely as possible to nozomi’s feet, Hanza puppeteering them all simultaneously in a way that, though she could likely perceive them, she would have a hard time avoiding them all at once without completely moving from the area she was standing. When they arrived, Hanza would utilize the closest one to Nozomi to activate his icicle blossom beneath her, arranging the icicles in a jagged 4-spike formation inward toward the center like a closing mouth of sharp teeth.

As the young Senju layed back against the tree letting the gentle breeze run along his face he begun to glance around in a effort to see those who would be training with him for the duration of the camp, It didn't take long for him to distinguish that most of the people present were unknown to him. Looking around he finally noticed someone he didn't know personally but watched during the chunin exams, Hanza one of the fighters of the chunin exam who was put in a coma during the early match's fighting one of the two shinobi who later became the exam's final contestant's was now standing before him studying to architecture structure of the manor. Although they had no real connection Mokuzai was pleased that the damage he received had recovered and he was now back on his feet once more in front of him.

After that another shinobi he know albeit on a more strictly business level, Atsuya Hyuga a shinobi he had gone on a mission on to subdue some bandit's in one of the village's in the land of water closer to the border. The whole trip had been filled with awkward silence and the Hyuga's bad attitude towards him, he hoped that maybe this camp would help them become more friendly towards each other but he wouldn't get his hopes up too quickly as it was still to early to determine exactly what the nature of the camp would be. Another shinobi would arrive and it would be a konahagakure based on the headband they were wearing, Mokuzai didn't think he would meet so many of fellow konaha ninja in Kiri but here they were shuffling into the camp like he did, he didn't know this shinobi at all meaning he was new which also meant he was a new person to befriend and get stronger with that put a gleeful idiotic smile across the young Senju's face. And then there it was, a shinobi who was well known to anyone watching the chunin exams, a shinobi with hair like wild fire and a personality that fit just right Izumi, Karisuma. This shinobi was what would be considered top-tier as she had completed her trials with such ease and done her battle's treating it with nearly the same difficulty, she was also the one for Hanza's coma and had also beaten another female shinobi named Fuyuko and also defeated Kisei Ushinatta in which he had the pleasure of fighting for the exhibition match's. Mokuzai himself hadn't had the pleasure of fighting with her but the stories of her battle's left little doubt that she was one of the most skilled shinobi of her time.

With a loud clap piercing his ear's he would turn his head to be meant with the sight of another shinobi who had the appearance of authority and he stood up to move towards her as did all the other's, it was obviously one of the shinobi who orchestrated the camp and judging based of their name's he determined it was most likely the one named Nozomi. She would then begin to explain that she was tired from a fight with a shinobi named Lamya in which he did not recognize the name until she explained that it was one of the possible shinobi along with Mitsuo Sarutobi and Orochi Risu who were responsible for the destruction of Sunagakure, she would continue to point to Izumi and another shinobi that must have been inside the manor named Nova which was the actual winner of the chunin exams who had won the finals. Nozomi would state had they had shinobi's like them two maybe Sungakure would have survived the tragedy that befell them,  Mokuzai knew one thing for sure though, out of all the shinobi present in the room he could definitely not take Nova,Izumi and Nozomi on a one on one battle until he got stronger.

With the addition of Nova other shinobi would now come from the manor, Fuyuko who had fought all the way to the final's but lost to Izumi which couldn't be helped but there was no doubt based on her other fights that she was skilled and then Chigetsu, Mokuzai's self-proclaimed rival who he meant during the in between match's of the chunin exam's which he also dared say his closest friend in the death camp at the moment which was walking beside another unfamiliar shinobi in which he supposed he would get to know in time.

Shifting his focus back to Nozomi talking, she would go on to say now that all of the participants were present she would now be taking every last one of us on and even insisted in trying anything they can to land a attack on her and further explained that there were healing water's nearby so they could be healed meaning she wanted nobody to hold anything back against her as she slipped into a fighting stance, Mokuzai wondered if the shinobi could honestly take all nine ninja alone but based on the rumors of her exploits he wouldn't want to fight her hand to hand and find out.

With Nozomi's starting words it seemed everyone jumped into action starting with Fuyuko who jumped back to a distance of seven meters before flicking a raiton charged coin aiming at the powerful shinobi which was followed by the unknown shinobi who seemingly made blobs of water surrounding her for a purpose yet unseen, Nova with her puppet creation begun to burrow herself within the ground disappearing from sight while Chigetsu also set up his own plans in a attempt to subdue Nozomi. The actions of his fellow participants and how they each made their own tactics in order to land a decent attack on the instructor filled him with competitive spirit, Mokuzai then flipped backwards before starting to run back towards the tree he had originally been waiting at.

Once he was behind the tree the young Senju would now weave quick hand-signs before three water clone's were created in front of him in a straight line to also conceal their presence, he would touch the clone in front of him to transform them into a giant shuriken while undoing the bandage wrap around his left arm and summoning a real giant shuriken  and put it against the tree closing it up while imbuing some of his chakra into it to use it for a escape hatch later on. Mokuzai would now run on the left side while another clone to the right and the last clone weaved hand-signs surrounding themselves with twelve globe's similar to the size of a child's ball before  they jumped out from above the tree holding the giant shuriken that was a clone in disguise,  they would all sprint towards Nozomi while Mokuzai and the clone on the left weaved different hand seal's before the clone on the left would stop at ten meters before three  three pressurized crescent shaped flying water slashes shoot out of  the palm of their hands at a speed of twenty five meters per second aimed at Nozomi, while Mokuzai himself stopped at a four and a half meter distance which put him in the danger zone as he made the snake hand-sign causing vine's to erupt from the ground below Nozomi at the same speed of the water slash's to wrap around her legs in his attempt to restrict her movements as the clone with the giant shuriken was closing in on him from behind.

The young Senju would immediately  turn to the side and put his hands together while the one holding the giant shuriken ran toward him and jumped just enough to land on his hands before Mokuzai flung his hands up boosting their jump so they got even further up then they usually would have gotten on their own, now airborne the clone would spun themselves around before letting go of the giant shuriken while aiming it at Nozomi.

If the pressurized water slashes missed she would be restrained albeit as long as she didn't break out of it, then she would have to deal with the second clone aiming a giant shuriken at her and the moment the clone landed back on the ground or became attacked by Nozomi they would explode the twelve globe's surrounding them in which would provide a second distraction as well as  obscure the shinobi's immediate line of sight around them for many angle's which by at this point the clone disguise as a giant shuriken would transform back into their form and aim a jet stream of water at close range at Nozomi while she was occupied with the many things around her while Mokuzai himself would move back until he was standing beside Fuyuko.

In the downtime given before the blonde shinobi gathered the attention of all, the Hyuga’s blank eyes scanned the surrounding area. His eyes locked on from one foe to another, attempting to measure each of their strength. To his surprise, a familiar face was found in the are. Mokuzai Senju? He wasn’t quite sure if he had gotten the name right, but no doubt it was the Senju he had been paired with the other day. Aside from the Senju child, another shinobi garnered his attention. This time a blonde, though much closer to his age than the Jounin who watched over them all. The blonde held the symbol of Konohagakure no Sato wrapped on his forehead. He hadn’t expected to be in the company of two other shinobi from his home village, but it didn’t matter. It wouldn’t change anything. He wasn’t here to make friends or allies. The Hyuga had one thing in mind, this camp only served to further his purpose. Save for the two fellow Leaf shinobi, no one else had managed to capture his attention. It was all too soon, after all, he’d find out what they could all do in due time… though he doubted that any in the camp compared to him.

Eventually the time for socializing had come to an end. Finally the Hyuga’s evergrowing boredom would be satiated. The blonde jounin addressed all who were in attendance. The jounin bragged about fighting one of the criminals who perpetrated Sunagakure’s downfall to a standstill. A standstill? Disgusting. Only a fool would ever brag about such a disgraceful act. Was this to be the one who would train them? How underwhelming. After taking their time by bragging about a draw, the woman brought light to two kunoichi who had apparently faced each other in the chunin exams. Two targets that the Hyuga now set his eyes on. Finally her speech led to the moment everyone had likely been waiting for. The woman now introduced herself as the first challenge given to those in the camp. She continued to talk, but all her words would simply be muted to the uninterested Hyuga. He had heard everything he needed to know. Unmoved, he looked at those who had easily been riled up by the woman's words. They were all getting ready to strike at a moment’s notice, but not him. They would all serve their purpose. He'd allow them all to test the capabilities of the jounin and wear her out while he waited quietly for an opportunity to strike.

The jounin lowered herself in a stance that destroyed all patience and restraint possessed by the Hyuga. A fake was in his presence, mimicking the stance of his people. How dare she?! Anger overtook him for the briefest of moments. He had almost charged in, forsaking his plan. He felt the wild chakra running down his back and calmed it down. No. Stick to the plan. He'd wait ‘till the weak were weeded out and claim victory for his own.

Kirei

Kirei

B-rank
This morning was beginning to feel more alien by the second. Even through his cheerful greeting, his upbeat saunter towards Chigetsu with smiling face shining for the world to see, Kirei felt alone here. It wasn't a matter of homesickness, nationality or even disposition; the Uchiha felt alone by sheer virtue of his skill, or more precisely the lack of talent he was sure he possessed relative to the others surrounding him. It was right, the Uchiha were known as talented shinobi, but this legacy was not one embodied by Kirei, he'd been a slacker his whole life. The few weeks in the Mist did him some good, he was getting the hang of combat, his hands weren't shaking so much anymore. The veneer of cheery optimism served as the boy's only line of defense from exposing his weakness.

Met with a frown and stern eyes, Chigetsu's reply would elicit an exaggerated eye roll from the Uchiha who would utter some quick response about it being "Just a nickname dude don't wet yourself. HAAH!"

Kirei couldn't help but giggle at his own wordplay, as stupid as it might have been he saw it as friendly banter between him and someone he considered to be absolutely hilarious. At any rate, Kirei's attention would be quickly drawn to another individual who he'd barely glanced at during his approach, a white-haired girl dressed in finery pulled right out of a private school. Her remark didn't really surprise him, but then again he hadn't been talking to her, so he didn't expect her to understand the reference. He opened his mouth to reply even though he hadn't decided what to say and after an awkward pause, he would be saved by a familiar face appearing through the front door. Nova's presence would allow him to pivot the uncomfortably long mouth sound he had begun making into an actual greeting.

"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiii Nova, hey!" He'd say quickly, just waving enough to greet her without needing to draw her attention away from whatever she was actually doing. Nova's arrival seemed to be the signal which brought others from the woodwork, more Kirigakure shinobi appeared from places Kirei didn't even think to look. He peered around looking for any other's, confused as to just how many people were going to arrive when he spotted two individuals who bore the same Leaf regalia. Between the three of them, they had enough for a Konoha squad, which didn't do much to quiet the butterflies in his stomach but at least made him feel a bit more at home. As more and more faces he didn't recognize poured into focus, Kirei assumed they must be getting close to a starting time, and because he felt decidedly out of the loop, he remained content to just go with the flow.

The final person he laid eyes on was the only other face he recognized. He had been traveling during the Chunin exams, hadn't watched her fights, but Izumi Karisuma found her way into Kirei's memories for a different reason. Within the first few days in Kiri, he'd been under her instruction for what had been his first real mission, the first time he'd felt proud to be a ninja. Since that night he'd found himself frequently engrossed in memories of the Kunoichi, mimicking her stances and cadence when he practiced on his own, even spending time trying to learn the techniques he'd watched her perform while they fought side by side. It wasn't a far cry to say she had become something of an inspiration to the boy, he felt she was his best example of what a shinobi should be and how they should act, resolving to be like her one way or another. His stance changed noticeably the moment he laid eyes on her, becoming rigid and proper, smile fading into a look of utterly contrived profundity in an attempt to look mature. Instead of a boisterous hello, Kirei would greet Izumi quietly with a nod if she seemed to notice him.

Pleasantries ending, Kirei noticed the intimidating, blonde woman make her way into view, ushering the group towards a courtyard where they would form a curve in front of her. As she spoke, Kirei listened intently but also took a few steps back from the group, the whole situation was a little too close to one of Konoha's most ancient cultural rituals. The Bell Test existed in the Leaf for generations, Genin pitted against Jonin in order to teach two significant lessons: working as a team, and the only way you can really beat a Jonin is if they let you. By the time he'd finished observing and thinking to himself, he'd missed the bulk of her speech by way of inattention but came out of his thoughts when he heard the words he was expecting. It didn't matter what her actual words were, all Kirei heard was,

"If you're not prepared to kill me, you won't be able to take the bells."

In sequence, the decorum collapsed in spectacular fashion. The only time he'd done this test in the Leaf was in private squads with his father, and he'd never let any of them even close to touching the bells. Of course, Kirei didn't expect he'd be having to deal with nine summoned hounds from Nozomi either. Before anything could happen, Kirei's eyes ran red with visual prowess and he leaped back even further from the ensuing chaos. Fellow students each prepared an onslaught of attacks, the whip-crack of lightning acted as starting pistol, Fuyuko's chakra exploding violently into the air in a precise assault toward Nozomi. Synchronized would be the formation of water from two more allies, Chigetsu and Haka both had techniques prepared to go right away as well; the former creating a sodden clone with which to develop a subversive attack and the latter waiting to react but ready with her own plans.

Pupils struggled to keep up, but the Sharingan proved a mighty tool. Even in their most immature form, Kirei's eyes darted between each stimulus at staggering speeds, watching even Nova's strings pluck whimsically at the door and ensnare her dutiful minions, drawing them in unison from slumber into the courtyard. Beneath the puppeteer's fingers, Kirei could almost feel her creations breathe, heralding life where once there was none. The twin automatons danced and spun away, the smaller finding purchase atop the manor's walls while the more impressive of the pair darted nimbly across the ground before kicking up a dust storm in its efforts to burrow away. Chigetsu was on the move now too, Kirei's eyes tracked his hands drawing weapons, briefly following the projectile he released to determine its inevitable destination as well. Hanza's verbal addition would be lost on Kirei, but when his eyes quickly examined the techniques darting toward the Jonin's feet, he wondered where they had come from.

Somewhat delayed from this initial assault would be Mokuzai's gambit, the first of the Konoha ninja to attack came from multiple angles, launching a variety of attacks as well as a jutsu intended to restrict her movement. Already, the sheer number of things being thrown into the fray threatened to undermine the efforts of allied techniques. Kirei's strength was as a scout, not a fighter, there was no tangible way for him to contribute anything to this opening play without hurting himself or invalidating the plan of a comrade. This sequence over only seconds left the boy's brain racing to find a worthy contribution merely finding doubt. Already the others were displaying talents far beyond any of Kirei's rudimentary flame and earth manipulations, confirming his insecurities and solidifying his opinion that he was the weakest among all of them. Of the people who hadn't acted, there was only one of them he wanted to look at, hoping to find clarity.

Sharingan transfixing on Izumi, he would study her stance to determine how he should act. Her utter calmness gave Kirei pause, vindicated his gut reaction that he shouldn't just rush in for the sake of being seen. Going with that confirmation, gloved fingers gripped a pair of kunai between them in the boy's right hand, pulling them up with a length of wire tied at the back of each knife. He held his position at the rear of the group as a watchful eye, mostly focused now on Nozomi to see how she would react. He would direct a sentence toward Izumi but didn't know, or didn't care, whether she would be able to hear him.

"There's no point attacking, is there?"

Kirei would stay ready, chakra swelling in preparation for a cue he was awaiting. Though he was focused on her, it was not Nozomi's reaction which would determine his next course of action, but Izumi's.

Izumi

Izumi

A-rank
It seemed for once, Izumi was the least connected in the room. Fuyuko was conversing with a mist genin Izumi hadn’t met before who was surrounded by small crowd. His name was evidently Chigetsu, and his crowd consisted of a girl Izumi hadn’t seen up until now, Fuyuko, and Kirei. The group evidently had their small talk to do amongst themselves, be it catching up on lost time or inside jokes the young Karisuma was neither privy to nor desirous to become so. Kirei was there as well, the young Uchiha had been Izumi’s partner for the first mission she’d gone on as a Chunin in the service of Kirigakure no Sato. The blond youngster was very formal and polite towards her, Izumi would respond to his greeting with a nod of acknowledgement, not daring to smile at the young man and betray any positive feelings towards the youth. Izumi would never have it, she hated the Leaf and everyone from there. Nova would break Izumi’s miniature people watching session with her familiar and welcome voice, “You get kinda used to the weirdness, I would assume Lord Osada would be in charge... though I haven't seen him myself recently. Not that that is uncommon to be fair.” Truly a strange gathering, Izumi was beginning to second guess her decision to come here after all this Lord Osada by and large was a veritable monster should half the tales of him be true. Yes, shinobi tend to live a more violent life than most but it is said that Lord Osada enjoyed it a bit too much. Izumi surmised this was why the mansion was so far from civilization, to keep the monster in a cage.

"Alright, listen up everybody. There are a lot of you, so I don't want a lot of overlapping talk. I'm still a bit tired after my fight with Lamya." The voice cut through the room, clearly belonging to their would be teacher, the woman was shorter than Izumi by a head but she was clearly Izumi’s senior both in age and rank. It was Nozomi Hitomi, the woman who had defeated Orochi “LAMYA” Risu, the third puzzle piece to the mystery of what actually happened the night of Sunagakure’s destruction. Izumi wished someone had stopped the woman’s escape but in the fervor of the titanic clash between the two top level kunoichi she was able to flee the scene to parts unkown. "Between myself and Sero, you are all going to be subjected to an intensive training sequence over the next few weeks. Some of you are chuunin already, some of you are still genin, but by the end of this, you'll all be quite a deal more prepared for combat." The woman finally betrayed a modicum of information on the exercises they’d be performing while at this strange place, it was to be a combat course. Izumi smirked, she always found these ‘exercises’ amusing, usually it involved some cheesy setup and jounin watching from the sides ready to save anyone who made a mistake. Izumi knew them all too well, she almost found the drills insulting; the young woman had experienced real combat scenarios and had lived to tell the tale. It was partially thanks to luck and in Izumi’s own opinion a big part was thanks to skill. Izumi was more than prepared to defeat anyone at the camp save for perhaps Nova who was at the very least equal to anyone at the camp if not more.
Izumi’s eyes went wide momentarily at the mention of an ‘unidentified third’ she of course knew the identity of this person. Izumi had done well to train more than her body at the Chunin Exams, she also had practiced another classic skill of the kunoichi: information gathering. The journal Izumi carried held information on a great number of people, facts she had recorded on her own from events and interviews taken by her own person. It had quite the bit of secrets within including information on one Syekren Uchiha. The man was once her mentor in a time past, now he was more than that to Izumi. She could never betray him now, not since – Izumi was once again shocked to the present when she was specifically pointed out by Nozomi along with Nova, "These two were fantastic showmen during the Chuunin Exams. If Suna had more shinobi like them, perhaps it would have been able to withstand its woes. I'm not here to shit on Suna, I'm just telling it like it is. But now that they're one of us, we'll make sure that this new home of theirs never falls while any of us yet stand. I know you all have different reasons for showing up for this coarse, but one thing you'll all take out of it is a growth in strength you wouldn't be likely to achieve in the same amount of time on your own." It was jarring to hear herself referred to in such a manner by a kunoichi Izumi knew to be very powerful in such a way. The redheaded Karisuma was being used as an example of grit and combat, if Nozomi only knew the truth about her connection to those who destroyed her village. It was hard for her to harbor ill will against them with her complicated relationship with two of the men who had perpetrated the great calamity.

Nozomi would lead them into a courtyard, apparently the would be setting for whatever odd sort of test the woman had in store, "The first portion of your training is going to be hands on training, as I find that fighting is the best way to build experience. Use any amount of lethality you want, there are healing waters that can tend to any injuries sustained." Most of the other genin and chunin would launch into various maneuvers and attacks all aimed at the jounin. Smiling, the Karisuma waited allowing them to get distracted with their feeble attacks. Izumi had a plan, she was not one to miss a detail and was sure she had the proper strategy to be victorious within this exercise. Fuyuko was the first to act, Izumi was interested to see what she could do, seeing as she’d never gotten the chance to get an attack off when she had fought with Izumi, her fate decided within seconds of the start of the match. Izumi was sure to study everything she saw, Fuyuko made some sort of flicking motion and something went flying out from her hand towards Nozomi. Izumi wondered where this speed had been when they had been in the arena. The white haired girl who started next to Chigetsu would move to assist Fuyuko’s attack evidently waiting to see if it hit before continuing to act. During this time Izumi would make two clones, and flow some chakra into one of them. The chakra enhanced clone would retreat into the shadows while Izumi would take a seat at a bench that was right next to her, making sure she was in line of sight of the hiding clone. The other clone would take up a position next to Hanza looking on at Nozomi as the battle raged on. Nova had a new puppet, and my was it a thing of art it was a monstrous visage of a desert scorpion, one from their shared home. As she entered the puppet Izumi would call out to her, “Nova, follow my lead, trust me.” Izumi had been making hand seals as she spoke and with the last words came a snaking gas cloud. It was a deadly and sinister technique that Izumi had devised after the exams. The vapors would surround her a trap set for anyone who dared charge her after her plan was set in motion. She had grown fond of cornering and trapping her opponents with a relentless assault, ending them with their first mistake. The three genin Izumi had defeated during the exams would have surely been slain had the proctors not been there to save them.

The attacks continued with, Chigetsu who would make a clone and enter into close combat with the jounin, a foolish action to be sure however theres no way the boy was prepared for the difference in skill he was about to face. Izumi would see another form rush out towards the jounin, this one appeared to belong to Mokuzai Senju, the brave lad who had done quite well in the exams despite his lack of skill. He had made clones as well and his clones were coordinating an assault on the woman. To Izumi’s surprise, one of the genin from the leaf made a very intriguing and ambitious move: he did nothing at all, waiting for his own opening to do something with. Something strange happened once Izumi’s clone got to Hanza, the young man had become deranged in his long slumber, and said with a clenched fist, “She escaped? You allowed her to make her way back into the world after what she has done? If that is your example for teaching us, might I take a group of genin and teach them how to win the chunin exams as an equivalent? That’s an empty promise. Do not stand before us without a flicker of remorse as you tell us you’ve failed to eliminate someone who killed so many.” The clone next to him would whisper in his ear a sweetly voiced apology before Izumi’s plan was kicked off in fiery fashion. Izumi was holding on to a Tiger seal and had gathered a fair amount of chakra in her body, she was ready to try out yet another new technique of hers used only once in a fight for her life. Kirei asked Izumi a very poignant question in the moment, the scene was beautiful something straight out of an epic tale, “Kirei, I have two lessons for you: firstly, always remember it is better to attack than to be attacked and secondly, always choose the winning side.” At the end of her sentence, the clone next to Hanza would make a Tiger sign and from its mouth, a fiery orb that would seek to capture Hanza. Once the orb was well and off, the clone would explode into a fountain of fire, 400 fireballs rupturing forth from the extant Katon chakra that made the clone up only seconds before. The swarm of fire would head towards the area Fuyuko was standing in aimed for the backs of Mokuzai and Fuyuko. The fireballs that missed would start small fires enhanced with Katon chakra that were much hotter than normal flames and left spots of burning chakra where they struck. Izumi would activate her stunning eye, causing anyone who reached a distance of 15m that see her eyes become paralyzed where they stand. Should anyone charge Izumi and get within 5 meters of her, she would launch out a spark which would ignite the gas surrounding her catching them within a vicious blaze that causes 3rd degree burns.

The devil was in the details, Nozomi had said once we could all no longer fight OR when she went down. Defeating the Jounin was not a requirement simply a carrot on a stick dangled to keep the foolish ones busy while the predators like Izumi picked them off from behind. Whether their hubris would prove their downfall was yet to be seen. At the very least, the Karisuma had made this ‘exercise’ interesting the chaos was sure to confuse anyone who wasn’t aware of what was going on. Izumi was smiling and hoping any of the fools would be dumb enough to rush on to her and meet the cloud of hellfire that awaited them. The Karisuma Chunin’s smile was full of malice it was a look a few of the people there had seen before and were sure to fear. Izumi was in her element, a chaotic battleground where she was the aggressor. This was what she lived for!

Nozomi

D-rank
As Nozomi captured their attention, she kept a close eye on all of the gathered shinobi. Some would figure out the real message of her training, while others would formulate plans on how to deal with her. The goal was, of course, to get stronger by any means necessary, but that didn't mean Nozomi was just going to force them all to fight her. No, they could do training like that on their own if they really wanted to. Nozomi wanted them to realize that as shinobi, danger could come from anywhere. Even from those they thought were allies.

She would have said more, but as it was, she was just willing to let things run their course. Besides, she had other things to deal with. Plenty had decided that attacking Nozomi was the route they wanted to go, and the first to make any sort of move was Fuyuko. It was a bit of a surprise to Nozomi that she had decided to go first, she had, after all, tried to spare some of the enemies Nozomi had set on fire, so taking initiative to take out an opponent didn't really seem her style. Then again, perhaps she was just trying to be a distraction. Unfortunately, she wasn't sneaky enough to force Nozomi's attention her way. She saw the subtle coin grab, and knew what was coming next, having observed her matches in the Chuunin Exams. Even if the coin was fast, it didn't really matter, Nozomi just had to move before the coin was launched.

The aim was made, and Nozomi stutter stepped to the side, twisting her body just as Fuyuko launched the coin, and the match had started, everyone else springing to action as if the railgun had been a wake up call. The coin blasted past her, continuing on its path, and would hit anyone if they'd bothered to move behind her, but she wasn't expecting such a thing. Her attention turned towards Haka's attack, as she made a web and launched it at her. She moved her arms in front of her, crossing them, and as the web hit her, she separated her arms, using all her strength, and shredded the web with little effort. She'd been sure that had she been unable to break it, she'd have just used a jutsu.

Nova's movements were less obvious, but she could hear the puppets moving in the distance. The ground beneath her rumbled slightly, something under her then. Nova was the one she was most worried about, her use of puppets meant she'd need to use high rank jutsu to actually break them. As of yet, she didn't do anything though, so Nozomi kept it in mind, but her eyes and attention were scanning over the rest, moving at an imperceptible rate to the rest of them, but at a normal rate for her.

Chigetsu had opted to utilize a water clone, something Nozomi was quite used to, a jutsu she used quite a bit. It liquified down into a puddle, moving, obviously trying to use the others as a distraction, but Nozomi was quite perceptive, and could note the movement with ease. Tracking the movement, she stretched out a hand, still in movement from breaking the web, and aimed a wave of raiton chakra towards the space he would occupy next, timing it so that her blast would reach it the same time the puddle would. It should easily disperse the clone, if the puddle was the clone, or it would hit Chigetsu, if he was the puddle, and would thus still disperse the clone as significant damage would be done to it.

As the web cleared in front of her, her other hand caught the senbon, the glint of it having been noticed behind the web, and she twirled the senbon between her fingers, launching it back in the same fluid motion. If he dodged, it would be moving towards Fuyuko, who he had positioned behind him.

Mokuzai had made his move, retreating to behind a tree, to start making his clones and plan. Meanwhile Hanza addressed her, angered that Nozomi hadn't managed to capture Lamya, and she quickly addressed him, now watching the onslaught of the clones moving towards her, the conjunction of Hanza's chakra in the ground moving forward, moving away while she did so.

"I never had the chance to chase after Lamya, to be honest. My fight left me drained, and even one more jutsu would have left me barely concious. See, she's got greater reserves than I do, and is actually stronger and faster. ANBU chased after her, after I'd done all the work, so her escaping wasn't my fault, but theirs. Ayakashi even, for checking up on me rather than continuing the chase."

While she had been speaking, Nozomi was moving to deal with the onslaught by Mokuzai, feeling the ground beneath her feet start to give way, a small tell that something was coming up. Leaping into the air, she narrowly avoided the vines that sprouted up, trying to grasp at her feet, the thorns on them easily telling her that she had made a good decision, and additionally, 4 spikes of ice that had been angled to try and spear her. Still, now she was airborne, and a target for the 3 water slices moving towards her. Activating her Petal Propulsion technique, Nozomi's body was launched to the side at 29 m/s, the water blades continuing past her with no effect. She was surprised at how well these genin were coordinating their attacks without a cohesive plan already talked about.

Then, the windmill was launched at her. Nozomi was just going to catch it, she didn't feel like wasting more chakra, when it was transformed into a person. Smiling, Nozomi had to give him props for a plan well done. Again, she could have dodged then next attack, but noted the hand signs, recognizing the jutsu, and let it hit. It didn't really matter. The water trumpet slammed into her, knocking her backwards, and down to the ground. Landing on her feet, Nozomi grinned, watching as Izumi enacted her plan. It seemed that she grasped the lesson. The damage from the trumpet was negligible to her, and she barely felt it. "Lesson number one: Enemies are everywhere, even among friends. Never let down your guard."

It seemed that no one else planned on attacking the moment Nozomi was done talking or even before that moment. The flick of her coin and sending it flying in her direction would appear to be the signal everyone was waiting on. As if it was the gun shot that would signal the start of a match. Fuyuko didn’t care too much for the fact that Nozomi would dodge her railgun with relative ease, if anything she would be disappointed in Nozomi if she did get hit by it when she made it so obvious she was doing something. Having a more backwards position Fuyuko was able to observe the battlefield and see what everyone was up to. Haka was the first to respond to her own actions. Carefully waiting to see how Nozomi would respond to the railgun that was shot and respond accordingly. Nova appeared to have created another monstrosity of a puppet, but Fuyuko still felt slightly relieved it wasn’t a spider this time. However it still had more legs than that she liked.

Fuyuko was slightly left wondering what Nova was up to however. She knew that Nova hid inside of her puppets. But the actions she was taking of digging into the ground and disappearing into it had left her a little bit confused. The comment that Izumi made towards Nova didn’t suite her all to well either. Izumi was rather ruthless during the exams, and it wouldn’t surprise her if it would be a same case scenario right here. Chigetsu was next to make some obvious moves. They were kind, but more of a hindrance than anything. It blocked the view in front of her partially, further she was more skilled then he was so it had very little use for him to be in front of her. It was better to tell him sooner than later. “Chigetsu, standing in front of someone only really helps if you’re stronger than them or better at defending then they are. But this time, watch my back, okay?” She spoke softly to him, not everyone needed to hear the words that were shared.

Her words were followed up by that of someone else, however the tone in their voice sounded more like that of a rant then anything else. Fuyuko didn’t pay too much attention to it seeing as it would just distract her from the things that actually mattered. Like an Izumi that had made clones of herself and spread herself all over the battle field with them, while one of them was just leisurely sitting on a bench. Fuyuko disliked it. The ‘calmness’ that Izumi showed was more like a bad omen for what was to come. Did she know something she herself did not? It would appear that her gut feeling was right. Izumi had no intentions of attacking Nozomi like the rest of the group was. It was probably the way she had interpreted the words that Nozomi spoke, but there was no time to think about that.

Fuyuko flicked one of her vests pouches open and grabbed a scroll out of it, turned around while rolling it open and placed it on the floor as a couple of hundred of fireballs flew in her direction. With the activation of the technique they would rapidly be soaked into the scroll and make sure they didn’t cause her any harm. If it was going to be like the exams Izumi’s onslaught would most likely not stop with what she just done, and so Fuyuko prepared herself. First performing the snake seal emitting some raiton chakra which creates a barrier around her at half a meter out. She followed this up with the dog seal and blowing out a small cloud of raindrops which stuck to her body like a sort of armor. With herself prepared Fuyuko looked over to Izumi with a fierce determined glare. She wanted to say something to her, but her lips wouldn’t part. Her vocal cords wouldn’t vibrate to produce any sound. Why could she not move her body? The only thing that was different were the color of Izumi’s eyes. Fuyuko was kind of left wondering why she just stood there motionless.

Haka Osada

Haka Osada

Retired
With all the people gathered around, Haka found herself in a discomforting cacophony of noises and voices. For the most part, it was the heavy use of jutsu too many at once to be properly followed by the spider-nin that took up the attention as all sorts of elements burst out and through in hopes to find Nozomi. Unfortunately, the Nozomi danced through everything as if she knew the direction of the moves even before they had come to execution, dodging the raiton beam before it had come to pass and breaking her own chakra web as if it meant nothing to her. The boy who had introduced himself as Chigetsu a while ago and even complimented her white hair, created a double of himself that got shot down while it was moving with such precise calculation, Haka narrowed her eyes slightly. It was a logical calculation, that much was certain, but how the Nozomi was able to perceive such minute details and still make use of it was quite beyond her.

As if that concluded the first wave of attacks, Hanza's angry words felt like a brief intermezzo before the next wave. The talk about the Lamya, whoever that was, didn't interest the spider as much as trying to figure out the Nozomi's source of perceptional power and speed. She could say that she had seen such speed of reaction only with one other person so far, but her pride for Monster Manor wouldn't allow her to see Nozomi as an equal to her Creator considering Sero had opted to not fatally wound her in that moment and thus clearly had been holding back. Even then, whoever the Lamya was, she escaped and proved to be better than Nozomi still, driving back a certain Ayakashi as they opted to allow emotions overrule the reasonable choice of hunting a weakened prey.

Things took a turn for the worse when Izumi started her own cataclysmic event, turning upon the group that shared a single enemy by spreading a chaos of fire all over the courtyard. It started with an attack on Hanza, and another one on Fuyuko and Mokuzai, which was countered with a Fuinjutsu sealing technique. Haka didn't move as she wasn't in any danger, instead studying the nature of this chakra expression she had not seen until now. Its devastating power unlocked a brief smile upon her face as Haka envisioned houses set ablaze and people screaming in terror for the monster she was behind the human skin. Unlike lightning, earth or wind, which certainly were powers not to be trifled with, fire was an element which a spider generally disliked, and thus much like water, Haka had made up her mind that she had to gain control over it. Dominating powers that surpassed her was but a small pass-time for the Unmei harbouring much darker plans, but it was necessary.

Though the battlefield was in disarray and Nova had yet to reveal herself, Haka fixated her eyes on Nozomi. Even if Izumi had turned coats, she was but a minor threat compared to the one who was to teach them. Besides, to the spider it had become already apparent that the speeds and power of the nearby people surpassed hers. The logical conclusion was not one where she'd fight a hopeless battle, but one where she simply would have to help achieve the only perceivable end of this training - all students would lose. There was no point in wasting chakra on a fight that could not be won now. In such a moment, logic dictated it was better to preserve the chakra and fight another day on better terms than to continue the chaos without a clear goal.

"Haka withdraws.", she therefore stated, making her way to the edge of the battlefield, away from Nozomi and Izumi. This sort of speed and power was above her, and unlike humans driven by the oddest senses of honour and pride, the spider held no such thing at heart. All there was, was survival, and when two greater forces clashed, this spider simply sought a better shelter. Survival driven by intellect, however, did not allow her to drop the maintained water jutsu she held. If someone would attack her, she'd act appropriately with one of the defensive techniques she knew to block basic attacks or jutsu while she made her way to a spot where she could remain out of harm's way while observing the battlefield.

Nova Makato

Nova Makato

A-rank
Nova could feel the battlefield around her through the delicate vibrations that Doku Tsuki could pick up. Under the damp earth the sounds of battle were muffled though Nova could see the bizarre conglomeration of several different styles and types of jutsu crawl across and under the earth towards their target standing in the center of it all; Nozomi. As those in the courtyard sprung to action, so would Nozomi would dodge, deflect, or destroy everything her students would fling at her. With her final dodge, she would leap upwards and disappear from Nova's view. With a grimmace she acknowledged that this was a less than ideal development, but quickly came up with a more than acceptable solution to the temporary issue.  Nova would press her eyes closed and breath deeply before channeling chakra away from her and to Kurogokegamu perched atop the mansion, and without reopening her eyes vision would be restored but rather than from herself she looked down upon the courtyard from her spider's crystalline eyes. The split perspective from seeing from her spiders eyes and feeling the courtyard through vibrations around her gave her an incredible understanding of the battlefield, she could see each projectile moving through the air including Nozomi herself as well as feel all the subterranean action such as the pools of nitrogen and the roots that had weaved through the dirt. Her jump had been due to a number of roots and ice spikes that emerge from the ground in attempts to snare and stab at her, though it made her more susceptible to the blades of water that sliced through the air towards her. Nova wondered if perhaps their sheer numbers would result in their victory, though Izumi's words of, “follow my lead” , followed by her unexpected actions made Nova glad to be beneath the earth and away from the chaos.

Nova held her breath for a moment as she saw the water blades near Nozomi, surprise making her nearly jump within her puppet as the slightly older kunochi darted off to the side midair leaving a whirlwind of pale petals where she had once been in the air. Another projectile attack would soar through the air towards Nozomi, though she seemed to not bother reacting at all until the weapon was suddenly replaced with Mokuzai, or at least a clone of him. Still she paid it little mind, letting the burst of water that would spurt form his hands hit her and push her to the ground where she still landed gracefully on her feet. As Nozomi had gracefully moved through the air, Nova had been making her own movements, following Nozomi's path through the air, but her own moment deep beneath the earth.  Nozomi's quick movements had taken her away from the fountain and behind those who had attempted to hit her by almost 20 meters and for that Nova was glad. Though Izumi seemed to be taking the approach of causing chaos amongst the ranks, Nova hoped that she could quickly incapacitate Nozomi without harming her peers. Though she assumed that Nozomi was far more agile and responsive than anyone else, Nova thought that Nozomi seemed the most wary of herself and if nothing else could distract the blond until Izumi would finish with her plan and give her time to work.

As Doku Tsuki moved forward the chamber on its tail would click to the next slot, and Nova would let the puppet sink deeper into the earth, down to twenty meters below the grassy yard before firing the weapon from the scorpions tail. Through the earth the projectile would tunnel with ease, the drill on the front working near silently and barely disturbing the earth as the divot on the sides of the missile diverted the dirt back behind it. From a distance of thirty meters from where their mentor would stand, the drill would reach the surface where she stood in less than three quarters of a second. The drill was silent and imperceptible until barely a meter away when the earth would bulge ever so slightly and the dull metal would tear from the earth and combust at Nozomi's feet. The explosion shook the earth that she had been standing on, fire erupting from the epicenter as well as chunks of earth from the crater that she had created. Angry flames licked outward fifteen meters from where it exploded, the chunks of earth and dirt shooting outward hard enough to break bone should it contact flesh. Nova hoped that all except Nozomi would stay out of the way, though here beneath the earth she would have no way to communicate it.

Just before the missile would emerge from the earth, Doki Tsuki would spring into action. Its claws deftly moved the earth out of the way as it tunneled upward. Nova felt the shaking earth as the missile would explode, the metal tail of the scorpion stabbing out of the dirt and the next slot clicking into place on the cannon. Nova anticipated an upwards movement form Nozomi, Nova's main advantage here being her attacks from beneath to drive her into the air where she would hopefully be less mobile. Though she had just used what appeared to be a technique exclusive to her to dodge the airborne attack from before, Nova doubted she would have another of the same thing. Using Kurogokegamu's vision working in relation with Doku Tsuki's tremor sense, the next projectile would fire as soon as the tail would emerge. Using the angle that she would leap from the air, if she did, Nova would shoot where she anticipated she would be using the speed of her projectiles to her advantage. After channeling
a small amount of chakra to the weapon through her puppet as her trained ability allowed her to do with a a simple acadamy technique, With a metal chain whipping behind it, a shortened metal harpoon would pierce the air towards Nozomi's ribcage. Unless she was particularly unlucky, such a wound would not be fatal but would be incredibly painful and hard to remove. The hard to remove part was what Nova was counting on rather than the injury itself, even attacks from the weaker genin could do damage if the target was incapacitated first.

While Nova hoped that this would strike true, the tail would rotate to the next slot ready to fire again. The metal chain of the harpoon would stay connected to the slot that rotated away, a pulley in the back ready to wind backwards should the harpoon strike true. Due to the armored puppet Nova was afforded the luxury of not being threatened by any except Nozomi even if someone else should decide to attack her, though she doubted any would make a move against her like that. Even Izumi, the one who had began the chaos of the fight, would more than likely not raise a hand to Nova in combat though Nova could not be certain of that. Should Nozomi avoid the harpoon arrow, Nova would fire the next projectile directly at where she would land as movement through the air was easy to anticipate. Kurogokegamu had moved forward to stay within Nova's range, now perching atop the highest tier of the fountain for the elevated perspective and prepared to fire its own loaded ammunition should Nozomi come within twenty meters of where it stood atop the fountain.

Chigetsu Hōzuki

Chigetsu Hōzuki

Dead
The destruction of his water clone was met with a clear sound of frustration from Chigetsu. While he hadn't exactly expected for his plan to go perfectly, that it was so effortlessly discarded was a tad discouraging. Especially considering what a waste of chakra that was. The manner in which Nozomi was able to so effortlessly move and respond to his senbon as well, simply reaching out catching it as if it were the most effortless thing in the world. The way in which she tossed it back was of interest, and if it wasn't currently hurtling towards his face then Chigetsu likely would have tried to take a few moments to appreciate it. Instead, he would simply raise his right hand up to meet it. The nineteen other senbon he held in it were carried between his fingers, and with their steel he was able to meet the thrown senbon. The slight clanging of metal could be heard from the impact, and the thrown senbon would bounce off... The sheer force of Nozomi's throw wasn't something he had been expecting though. His arm simply wasn't able to deal with it, his musculature still undeveloped due to his age. The impact immediately sent his fist flying back into his face, resulting in Chigetsu accidentally punching himself right in the nose with a force he didn't even know his body was capable of. Considering that this was the hand he was carrying nineteen senbon in between his fingers, there were nineteen dull senbon heads colliding into his face along with his hand. It was the equivalent of being slammed in the face by a fist that wore an extremely excessive number of rings, and in response the only way Chigetsu could get away with not needing plastic surgery afterward was a swift liquification of his head. The impact would make a wet and dull sound, and a large amount of liquid would spray back behind him from the back of his head. His head would temporarily wiggle like a huge mass of gelatin, before solidifying after a moment once Chigetsu could control his arm again and pull the bits of metal from the senbon out of his liquified face.

So far, so terrible. Liquifying his face like that left him a little disoriented, and his entire right arm was incredibly sore now. While it didn't seem like it was broken or anything along those lines all of the nerves in it were screaming in pain. The first thing he would hear afterwards was Fuyuko's whispering. While it was only a gentle criticism, immediately he would fill with embarrassment. "Yeah... I'll watch your back. Don't worry." He would whisper back, that being all his voice was capable of in the moment. Chigetsu would nod his head despite the fact she probably wouldn't see it, more to confirm it to himself that it was something he could do. He would focus all of his attention towards Nozomi, confident that whatever noise it was he was hearing to his back would be taken care of by Fuyuko. Haka's withdraw happened immediately afterward, right as he was prepared to take another go at Nozomi. Internally he swore. Even a little bit of extra help could make a huge difference, and from what he saw already of her she wasn't bad. He almost couldn't criticize her after what Nozomi had just shown them though. There was a very strong sense of futility that was beginning to creep into Chigetsu's heart as well. That she so calmly stated that and walked away gave his confidence yet another shake.

That feeling in his gut would be capitalized on though. His intestines would twist, and the internal mass of organs would shift into the shape of two hands within his gut. Carefully these hands would form a single hand sign inside of him, and then they would be allowed to disperse back into what they had been. His kunai would be placed back down on his belt where he had gotten it from, and instead he would replace it with his aluminum water bottle. It would be raised up to his mouth quickly, and using his teeth he would unscrew the cap and take a quick sip of the liquid inside. As soon as the first drops of water entered his mouth a massive explosion would ring out, seemingly appearing from underground. Chigetsu would choke from the surprise.

He would cough profusely now, unable to catch his breath. Carefully he would attempt to watch what had happened after the explosion despite this. The sudden appearance of the scorpion puppet's tail and the firing of a harpoon blurred in his vision, being nearly too fast for him to see.  Chigetsu wouldn't be able to watch the entirety of it though. His coughing and choking would quickly produce a red liquid dripping out of his mouth and nose, dripping down over his face and chin and into damp ground. After a sudden strained inhale Chigetsu would collapse with a thud into the damp earth. The senbon and water bottle he had been holding would be released, falling to his sides. A small pool of red liquid would quickly form around his face in the dirt.
