It was but a sunny morning after Verdandi had organized everything required for the big move. She had a rather ambitious mission ahead of herself. Caring for over 40'000 people would be a first timer for her. She had worked on large numbers back in suna during her first encounters with the refugees but she has always been one to follow orders. This time, as commander of the ANBU, her first assignment as a leader and major figure in Kirigakure would be there to test the princess and her qualities as such a leader figure. There was no need to mention that she was nervous and incredibly unsure if not all of this operation would turn out to be a big mistake. With so many people at hand, Verdandi would have to face many difficulties. But with her position also came great power over troops. Aside from her trusty squad of ANBU Tokujō, Verdandi had a whole army of guards at her disposal. Four hundred soldiers. Given by the military to the refugee relief mission. Verdandi's first and primary step. To bring these sorry homeless creatures to Kirigakure. A good portion of them would most likely get to remain as workers in the farmer plots around Kiri. But most of them would be shipped off after processing into various directions and towards different villages able to hold them and make use of their immense manpower. Verdandi stood at the entrance gate of the Kiri's northern entry point. She'd glare up to the Mizukage mansion and give a final nod to her aunt.

Ayakashi had blessed her with the freedom of doing this project. Leaving her office work to one of Verdandi's subordinates. Verd was excited to work with her Squad. They were a selected few of her personal new sub-group she had initiated. Snow Patrol. Yuki and Kiri shinobi that were trained in Verdandi's personal survival courses. Either of them was able to withstand brutal temperatures. They were tested and skilled with their blades. Verd used to give them their ANBU names based on their primary weapons most of the time. So, this time she had 'Blade', 'Hammer' and 'Arrow' with her. Arrow would be the Squad's scout and make sure to keep her sharp eyes on the horizon. Hammer was there for the heavy-duty big targets. He could keep even A-Rank targets busy with his strength and endurance. And blade was her closest student as he too used katana as his primary weapons. Knowing well that his speed and reflexes were nearing Verdandi's own skill level. Verd was naturally proud of her Snow Patrol, Omega Squad and they would make her especially proud today. The army moved out. The four hundred soldiers marched north. The refugee camp in their aim and the ANBU Squad leading them on. Verdandi placed her skull mask on her face and her snow patrol members did the same. All of them had similar black ANBU clothing. What differed were small marks on their masks, barely visible.

The travel towards the refugee camps went without incident. Verdandi had suspected the bandit clans to strike but they remained silent and hidden in the woods. She was aware that they were observing her. She'd have to be smart about it. One of her snow patrol infiltrators was supposedly somewhere among them. Hiding in disguise as one of their own. His job was to make sure that Verdandi would be warned in time before their troops could get too dangerous. It had been a few days since his last raven arrived. Verd could only hope that he wasn't detected yet. Both for his sake and for the sake of the troops and refugees. If he wouldn't warn her in time when the bandits come. Verd feared that many refugees and soldiers would be there to pay the price. But alas it was as it was. Verdandi had to show trust into her men and that they would not end up disappointing her. She had to rely on them. Otherwise she couldn't function as a commander. Without her men she was but a failure. Still, worries creeped up on her back as she moved, unseen among the crowd of soldiers with her pupils. The soldiers were well trained. They were disciplined. The marvel of the Kiri civilian troops. They might not be ninja but their determination and will would not fall short on Verd's command this day. She would make sure to lead them properly and advise them. But their captain was a smart man to begin with. One Verdandi could trust in.

Within the hour. Verdandi arrived at the refugee camp. It was huge. A village on its own basically. The endless number of carriages and cattle were piling up at their makeshift gates. The already existing soldiers that were guarding the camp had long since started the evacuation process. The various tribes, despite acting separated, loaded their cargo onto the carriages and strapped in their cattle. They made no mistake in putting the flags of their nations on top of each wagon. As if to make sure that they wouldn't be bothered with it to be mixed up or mistaken for another kin. Verdandi had however done her homework. She knew that Sky, Wolf, Honey and Bird country were most likely able to work along with each other. Despite tiny squabbles and disputes they weren't hostile. But Blood Island and Demon Country were both feared in their brutal ways. They made no mistake as to clearly distance themselves from the rest. Sky and Bird, Wolf and Honey had their territory disputes back home. So eventually tensions could occasionally arise but mostly they were peaceful. Verdandi wouldn't allow it that either of the fractions would become racist enough to mess with the others. Verdandi noticed a fraction of suna refugees. Surprised by their number. Considering that she had sent all the suna refugees to remain at a different camp. These must be the exiled and shunned of their tribe. Having lost the right to remain with their brethren. A difficult breed to deal with.

Verdandi move further and deeper into the camp. Exploring the various situations and families as they were packing. Many of them poor to the bone. Many of them refugees of war. Exiled or hated by their own. Verdandi could see past that. They had it bad and all they asked for was another chance. She'd grant them said chance. Or allow them to return back home if they weren't satisfied. None of them would be slaves or prisoners. That was not the Kiri way. Verd had personally overseen dozens of troop movements and refugee allocations in suna. She knew how Kiri handled them. She knew how other countries handled them. She was pretty content that most of the villages were treating their willing refugees good. Verdandi moved through the tents in her silhouette disguise. Moving in the shadows while her squad had taken position at the entrance gates. The army preparing to form a caravan into which the civilians could move into at a later point. Verdandi slithered as an unseen shadow around. Her earrings allowing her to clearly listen into tents from afar. To hear what people were speaking. What they were thinking. To her own surprise she heard a lot of gratefulness towards the kiri administration. It seemed that not many had ill feelings about their refugee status within Kiri, content with what their lives were about but so many times, she could hear how the people were fearing the wrath of the blood and demon countries. Verdandi understood.

At the same time, she realized something else. While the blood country remained to be the major pain in the ass, the demon ones were mostly just feared for what they are. Warriors and conjurers of dark. Occult priests and strange religious followers. They didn't seem to be particularly violent at all. At least not the local bunch. Leaving Verdandi with but the blood country refugees to deal with. The demons would remain to be a wonderful way to keep the others scared and in check. To unite them under their fear and distrust against the blood and demons. Which was good. Psychologically speaking. Verdandi knew that people from wolf, bird, honey any sky would happily put their differences aside and join with the suna refugees to all together be scared of the demons and hate on the blood people. The trick was, to keep those two main factions separated from each other. But Verdandi could not only hear the talk coming from mere civilians causing a bit of a ruckus. She would spy something unusual. Overseeing the blood countries camp she continuously experienced massive racist communication against the suna exiles. In a way that was heavily concerning. She was sure that some of them would try to make a move. She had to act. She had to prepare herself to make sure that her priced little refugees would not come to any harm. But it seemed that by the time Verdandi and her squad arrived at the suna group. The ruckus had already started.

Blood country members were protesting at the suna camp. Calling them murderers and monsters. The soldiers had already reacted. Driving a line between the two groups. The suna people were but a few thousand, the smallest fraction. But they would easily be able to overpower their bullies in number. If it wasn't for someone unusual within the crowd. Verdandi could feel a sudden rise of a deadly instinct within the masses. Someone powerful was here. He wasn't alone. Quickly the princess moved from her distance into the shadows of the blood mob. Activating her sharingan. It wouldn't take long until her Dojutsu would spot the unusual within the crowd. A good dozen ninja was there. They shouldn't be here. Shinobi were treated differently by Kiri if they wanted to be refugees. They'd have to appeal to the kage and ask to join the Kiri ninja squads. Hiding amongst refugees was a crime to begin with. Verdandi grit her teeth. She was quickly aware that the situation itself would most likely not end in a friendly way. She had to deal with them before they would spread out too far. Over radio she contacted her squad to take positions. Arrow would make sure to use her shadow clone technique. Allowing her to target multiple of the lower ranked blood ninja with her bows. Hammer was quickly told to make his way into the suna refugee masses and hide at the front lines. Blade was to support arrow in her job at dealing with the ten weaker ninja.

Verdandi was getting nervous. Sweat would drip down her forehead and cheeks behind the skull mask. Timing would be crucial here. If she moved in a bit too late, civilians would die. Or Kiri soldiers even. If she moved in too early. Her squad could end up harming civilians in the crossfire. These blood-nin were out for no good. But maybe they would be able to be tamed… Verdandi's thoughts were cut short. She could hear 'hammer' cry out for "Shit!" on the radio. The ring leader was moving. He pulled forth a large spear and was about to impale the suna people's speaker. As a sign to shut him up. But hammer was ready. Before the blood captains spear could reach its target. The large two-handed weapon of hammer would smash down on the ground. The blood captain was caught in surprise and despite his superior reflexes and speed couldn't properly avoid a frontal collision. Hammer skilfully swung his huge weapon and hit the blood captain in his chest, sending him backwards, off and away from the speaker. Verdandi quickly gave the signal. The Kiri soldiers would start to form a ring around the suna people in protection and advise the blood people to scatter. The ten underlings of the blood captain would quickly move forth. Pulling their weapons and aiming to attack the kiri soldiers and hammer. But Verdandi was well prepared at this point. The trap would claim its victims right away.

The moment she had a legit reason to 'defend' her troops. Arrow would shoot. Aiming for the legs. All four clones and the real deal had their targets at hand. The screams of blood soldiers feeling how arrows were digging into their calves would fill the battlefield. The blood captain would quickly start to realize that he was surrounded and set-up. Rage would fill his lungs and a loud 'kill these bastards!' would echo from his lips. But he would be given no time to mess around. Hammer moved in. Lifting his colossal weapon for a frontal attack. Forcing the captain in defense once again. Blade moved in. His katana slicing into the legs of the remaining five ninja that were trying to attack the suna refugees past the Kiri soldiers. The shields of the soldiers wouldn't budge. The spears would extend forward to keep the blood-nin at bay. The soldiers wouldn't move forward or attack them. Their strict orders from Verdandi were clearly to stay back and keep the suna people safe. It was time. Time for the dragon lady to make her move. Verdandi closed her eyes. Taking a deep breath. Wind element was collecting at the soles of her feet and with a sudden, unexpected large burst. The princess would speed from the shadows into view. Her otherwise well-hidden chakra signature exploding over the whole area. Making each and every last one of the blood nin instantly aware of what kind of monster is now coming for them.

Before the lot of them could react. Verdandi had already drawn her two S-Rank katana. In sync she would wield them as she moved into the row of lower ranked blood-nin. Most of them were already kneeling and dealing with the arrows and blade cuts in their legs. Most of them were moving their palms together to form hand seals. Potentially trying to cast a devastating combo attack together. Verdandi wouldn't let them. While Kurosewa would be kept in reserve, the legendary samurai blade with a sharpness to it that barely found an equal, gently cut through the masses of arms and hands. Verdandi was cruel and merciless at this point. Everyone of them who dared to try and meld chakra against the kiri and suna people would lose their hands. An outcry would happen as the first few found themselves bleeding horribly without their precious palms left as to where they used to be before. One of them raised his katana against Verdandi, the punishment for such action was but a swift death. Her massively superior reaction time while wielding the kurosawa were inhuman. A skill that far past moved into the S-Ranks of combat. The man's blade would be hit twice and cut to pieces by kurosawa before the katana would strike forth and cut his head right off his shoulders. Verdandi would kick the headless frame to the ground. Blade was making sure to push each of them down one by one and if either of them dared to raise their heads again, they would receive a cut through their throats.

Verdandi stood. The blood captain had pushed hammer back and forced him to retreat. Turning to look at Verdandi whom was walking now towards him. One of the blood-nin tried to attack 'blade' from behind. Arrow would take care of him. Her spiked projectile would pierce through the man's throat as he fell. Only two of the blood-nin survived judgement. The others had not understood their position. They didn't know what it meant to rise up against Verdandi's reign of terror here. The remaining two would be bound and tied down by blade. The three ANBU had done their job well. Verdandi was proud. She had raised them wonderfully. And now it was time to face the last oppressor. "In the name of Kirigakure. You have threatened the peace of these men here. Lay down your weapon and you shall find mercy. Try to oppose me here and die." Verdandi spoke, the voice distorted by her ANBU mask. Her appearance gruesome. Clad in blood from cutting the defiant ninja's wrists and heads off. The captain swung his spear around. He didn't say much. But he formed hand-seals that Verdandi knows all too well. Library fire technique. A big mistake to begin with. Verdandi's sharingan glowed brightly as it read the seals. Her own palms dropping the katana into their sheaths as she moved to form her own seals quickly. Trying to match the mans speed and catch up.

Verdandi had casted the annulling void sealing technique. Creating a small seal on her palm as she moved straight forward towards her target. As the blood captain exhaled his fire breath, Verdandi's hand was right there to casually swallow the fire into her palm and to seal the damage away before the dragon's breath could exhale itself into its usual cone shape to harm anyone. Verdandi's palm would grab on the captain's face and use all her power and strength to push him by the face down to the ground and into the dirt. He was strong enough to keep forming hand seals however. An earth technique was about to raise stone pillars from the ground. The soldiers quickly backed off and pushed the suna people backwards. Verdandi let herself be hit by one of the pillars and took the damage to the stomach. But while she was rising into the air. She started to collect an insane amount of chakra into her palm. An ever-growing ball of pure energy would rise between her digits. Arrow would shoot two projectiles to the captains' legs and keep him trapped. Hammer would push away two of pillars threatening to hurt some of the civilians and blade would use a water prison technique to catch some debris on his side. Leaving Verdandi to come and crash down again. Her Eternal Rasengan swallowing any remaining doton pillars in her way back down before she pushed the huge ball in the trapped captain's belly. The explosion would tear him to pieces. His body dissolving under to shreds below the impact.

Blood was covering the grounds. Torn limbs, crushed bones and splintered off organs dissolved under the pressure of Verdandi's Rasengan. The threat had been dealt with. Quickly and mercilessly. Verdandi nodded to herself. It was messy but it was done. The suna refugees were commanded to return to their convoy. The blood refugees were put to the decision to either return to their own convoy or admit to be part of this uprising and hence be judged accordingly. Verdandi made sure to lift her blade from its sheath again. Ready to behead whomever tired to dare and disturb the camps peace again. The soldiers would move in to start and collect the remains of the blood-nin and bring it together. The captain's body, or what was left of it would be sealed to be examined by the hunter-nin once Verd was back in Kiri. The others would be simply put on the pile and their corpses burned by flames. The two blood-nin that had surrendered properly and still had their palms, would be captured and put into chains. It would be the ANBU squad's responsibility to keep an eye on them. A medic quickly fixed up their leg wounds as to not have them bleed out. They would be either freed or sentenced to death in Kiri. Verd didn't wish to kill more people than necessary here and now. Loading them upon the backs of Bird Country wagons as to have a neutral surrounding for them whilst Hammer and blade would stay close to them.

The masses were moving already. The other groups didn't wait for the suna group which was fine. Allowing the lot of them to catch up. The soldiers had already formed a proper defense perimeter on both left and right sides of the road while the huge masses of refugees, sticking to their own groups was moving in the middle on their way towards Kiri. It went without say that Verdandi got extremely pissed when that moment a raven arrived from her informant that the bandits were moving. Verdandi cussed loudly in anger. She tried to catch herself again knowing that each obstacle was possible to deal with. She would move. Making sure the suna refugees and their soldiers would be informed to speed up and catch up very quickly. At the same time, she told arrow to go to the front of the caravan and tell them to wait for the suna tribe to catch up. While at the same time, secretly prepare for the bandits. Once arrow was done being a messenger. She'd have to figure out where their enemy would be coming from. But the time was seemingly short. Soon the suna-tribe did catch up with the rest. It'd have been horrible if they were caught off-guard by the bandits now. Verdandi specifically advised to not spread out too far and instead move together as well as possible. 200 soldiers on each side. All of them ready to intercept the bandits. But Verdandi could leave it up to luck.

She sent arrow north while she herself moved south to spy for them. Not long until Verdandi got the radio signal from arrow that she had noticed a huge troop movement from the northing moving towards the road. Seeing no enemies from the south side. Verdandi quickly informed the soldier captain to do his thing. Slowly the 400 soldiers would move to the north side. Replacing their other side with 'fake' guards that were but civilians. Concentrating their power on the proper side to defend. The word of what was going to happen would spread within the refugee masses. Slowly they would be informed to hide behind the road once the bandits move in. Verdandi made it back just in time to set some simple traps while arrow remained hidden in the trees even as the bandit armies marched past her. Keeping a constant radio signal that told Verd the exact distance towards the enemy troops. It was time. They were coming. They were weak. Mere low soldiers. But they had masses. They could threaten the caravan. They could harm them. If it weren't for Verdandi making sure that each and every last one of them would be walking into their own demise. The two blood-nin were sent forth to battle against the bandits. Given that if they served well they would be spared from their eminent death sentence. They were canon fodder. They moved in and did a good job surprising the bandits but they died after barely taking down a fifty solider mass.

Verdandi was ready. She had already called upon the storms in the heaven above. The wind and rain would start to fall upon the forest field the bandits would come from. Snow would raise from the clouds. Burying the forest in winter. The first masses of bandits that moved out of the woods would face an army of 400 kiri-nin standing ready with raised shields and pulled forth spears to receive any and all enemy troops that dared to move forth and attack the caravan. Verdandi was ready. The first bandits would impact against the shields of the kiri soldiers. Verdandi's erosive lake technique opened up a crater before the kiri defense lines. Hundred bandits would helplessly rush to their death into the sinkhole. The kunai bomb would be dropped a bit north. The explosive tag killing two dozen men before the kunai splinters spread all over to wound another dozen. Hammer was moving in to gush his favourite thousand needle technique upon a whole horde of incoming soldiers. Blade moved like a dancer through the masses and let his A-Rank sword cut through skin and bones. Arrow would use up hundreds of projectiles to continuously shoot the targets from the trees above, hitting them in the back. Verdandi would use the ice dome technique to capture the largest mass of enemy's trapping them in the dome together with her. Blowing them to pieces including their leader with a single exploding tag before she moved in to raise all three ice spear techniques on them and impale the masses of enemies on giant large frost spears. By the end of the day. A good hundred kiri soldiers had let their life to protect the refugees and over seven hundred corpses of dead bandits would layer the forest. Verdandi had personally seen to the death of half of them including their puny leader. A battle that could have gone better if it wasn't so closely tied in with what had happened with the blood-nin. But none-the-less a successful one for the young ANBU commander.
