Miyamoto Clan HhU72Pp
Clan History: Long before the age of ninja, roaming warriors traveled the land in search of worthy opponents to test their steel upon. These warriors were fearsome, as well as fair, and never fought anyone who was not their equal. These warriors were called Samurai. There was one such samurai named Ichigo Miyamoto, who traveled the still forming nations to hone and perfect his killing stroke. He was known far and wide as 'Miyamoto, the Bushido Adherent.' As one of the only samurai who truly followed the bushido to the letter, he was a marvel to behold. There would come a time when he'd settle down in what came later to be known as the place for the village hidden in the clouds, where he was said to start up a family and invite samurai from far and wide to join him in fellowship. Anyone who could test their steel against him and live was called brother, and to be treated like family.

Decades went on and this fellowship grew. As the world changed around the samurai, they became more reclusive, clinging to their old ways. The bushido was the only way they knew and in the face of a changing world, when everything they knew had become different, it was all they had that would always be the same. Tradition meant everything to the growing samurai fellowship and they would not be giving it up no matter what happened to the world around them. And so the world continued to change, villages sprouting up, becoming larger and larger, while so too did the fellowship grow.

It came to pass that the fellowship called itself the 'Miyamoto Clan' after the founder, Ichigo. Anyone who was born into the clan, or joined it would be Miyamoto and would have to follow the sacred traditions passed down from the first samurai. Miyamoto were expected to uphold the code of bushido at all times as well as hone their steel out of the clan's home. For this reason, many if not all Miyamoto were wanderers. As the world had changed and ninja villages rose up, the Miyamoto often found themselves at odds with the ninja, striking down intruders and enemies to their clan, as well as sticking to themselves instead of joining the new world. They moved from the villages into the outskirts of Kumogakure no Sato, miles into the wilderness to perfect and hone their craft as well as protect their budding samurai from the changing outside world. They now reside at the foot of Sky Point, in the wilderness of the lightning country, while many have abandoned the way of the bushido and scattered, the largest known collection of Miyamoto is here.

Note Before Making a Character: While the Miyamoto clan primarily resides in Sky Point, they are still a scattered samurai clan. As such, they do not ally or offend the ninja world, simply taking no part in it and unless you have a good reason for being a part of a village, must start as wanderers. This may not be a requirement but it's not likely for wandering samurai to join a village.

Miyamoto Clan Y4syLuV
Kekkei Genkai Name:Way of the Samurai
Kekkei Genkai Description:

General: Legendary for their forging techniques, the famous members of the Miyamoto clan from the time they are born have an ancient rite performed on them and a sacred weapon that defines them. This sacred rite bonds soul, body, and steel in a holy union to create true Tamahagane or Jewel Steel. The soul bonding part of this ritual is intended to create a 'living' weapon, and as such will use the soul of an ancestor of the Miyamoto. The ritual involves crushing the dust of a special meteoric crystal alloy and adding it to the forging process of the weapon while it is subsequently dusted thickly over the skin of the child and then branded into them with a clan seal before having chakra flown through the ore of the blade and child, uniting them forever. This is the source of a Miyamoto's power.

「 生宝器 / Ihōki / Living Jeweled Weapons 」

The foremost of the Miyamoto's power comes from their Hiden training style, which confers the passive stat tier bonus of Taijutsu to this clan's Chakra Flow Speciality. In addition, Miyamoto clan members receive a 20% word count reduction on training Weapon Styles and Chakra Flow techniques. Miyamoto begin with a Living Jeweled Weapon, and a single free Weapon Style to required to wield it. Imbued with the spirit of a long-dead Miyamoto ancestor, the special abilities conferred by these relics are numerous.

The spirit whose chakra is confined within these weapons is always by the Miyamoto's side, watching over them. The ancestor chosen for a Living Jeweled Weapon is listed in the weapon's History section when applied for, and is treated IC as a spirit companion. Though these ancient warriors cannot interact with the world of the living, they may be seen by and freely communicate with their owner at all times, effectively functioning as a secondary sensory input which is independent of the Miyamoto who wields it. Due to their link to the spirit, its location counts as a suitable medium through which Miyamoto clan members may perform techniques (though may not activate techniques within 5m of another shinobi). This ability is always active as long as the clan member possesses their blade, or as long as it is within 5m of their person. Miyamoto Ancestor Spirits can be detected with any chakra sensory method as normal, and their Speed and Perception stats are equal to the base tier for the rank of the weapon. The range at which a spirit may operate is a radius with the weapon at the center, using the minimum radius for a jutsu of the weapon's rank.

Jeweled Weapons begin at D-rank, and may be trained once per rank at a cost of 2000 ryo and 4000 words. The weapons may be trained to the maximum rank of an item which the clan member could wield (one rank above their ninja rank). This rank up is applied for as a normal item with the training and ryo cost replacing normal purchasing. At each rank, in addition to the abilities allowed by the Item Guidelines, Miyamoto weapons may possess an additional passive ability relating to their ancestor spirit.

Miyamoto clan members require one less social thread at each rank in order to rank up, due to their nature as reclusive Ronin.

Drawbacks:
The Miyamoto are known weapons-masters, who harness their weapon arts more than anything else on the battlefield and must take Chakra Flow as one of their beginning specializations. Due to their focus in Chakra Flow compared to other specializations, they also cannot learn a fourth specialization.

  • Bushido: The Miyamoto clan are one of the few honorable Samurai clans left in the ninja world, although many of them do not join the ninja academies, for centuries there has been a massive sum of pressure placed upon them by their families from a young age to uphold the code least they receive dire punishments, even in dire circumstances. Members of the Miyamoto clan begin with no academy techniques, and their Elements begin at D-rank. The Miyamoto honor code prevents fleeing in combat, and they must take the Foolhardy Negative Special Characteristic without the ability to balance it.

  • Ikken Hissatsu: or 'to annihilate in one blow' is at the core of traditional combat. Miyamoto clan members are not used to drawn out combat where they would use techniques one after the other, again and again. This process, as well as their focus on weapons over chakra enhanced arts, has led them to having less developed chakra systems than most others. Miyamoto clan members begin with -20 chakra in their chakra pool.

  • Genjutsu Prone: Miyamoto clan members trust and rely heavily on their senses, this lends them to being far more susceptible to genjutsu, which interact with Miyamoto clan members as if they were a rank higher.

  • Picky: Miyamoto clan members will only accept and wield weapons of the highest quality, least they dishonor their family name and reputation. As such, Miyamoto clan members are exceedingly selective when it comes to the weapons they buy. Any weapons purchased by a Miyamoto clan member are increased by 20%

  • Ancestor Spirit: Being that members of Miyamoto are bonded to their weapons with a ritual that involves the spirit of an ancestor, they will often be found talking to their weapon. This causes people to consider them crazy. For this reason socializing with others in social threads takes 20% more words

Disclaimer: This clan, along with Shikiryu and Tenkai were created with Ayakashi and they did most of the work.
