Gakusha Clan HhU72Pp
Clan History: It is the way of the young to rebel against their progenitors. This is no mere platitude but something that is integral to the concept of youth itself. Why then should this be restricted to the terrestrial primates known by the moniker humanity? It should come as no surprise that even deep beneath the ocean in the fantastic palaces made of coral and pearl the children of the dragon kings dream of dissent. Even as they are waited upon by seahorses and crab transformed by magic into charming servants the desire to strike out from the sheltered alcoves that they inhabit burns bright.

For some, this manifests in wicked behavior. Mocking immortals and godlings and then laughing as they tear up their heavenly abodes in fury. Bringing drought upon townships while livestock perishes under clouds of black pestilence. Even scandalous though it may be the abduction of fair maidens for nefarious ends. As an august personage will attest a dragon is above such uncouth behaviors and those wyrms who are caught in such folly are punished harshly until they regain their regal bearing.

Subversive behavior need not take such a blatant mien. Much harder to discipline are those that take a vested interest in the temporal world. A dragon must be concerned with the harmony of the universe for they are the caretakers of reality. Human life and existence while a fundamental part of Earth's ecosystem is but a blip on the great celestial radar. What then is to be done for those who forsake learning of deep time and the dance of the spheres to instead focus on the minutiae of the human condition?

Severe and total disregard!

This behavior, unlike turpitude, cannot be punished for it is not itself immoral. It must merely run its course. So we have the Wakai Gakusha – scions of dragon nobility. Each a scholar of mortal matters invested within the brief lives led by the sons and daughters of man. While banned from their ancestral palaces and left bereft of servants they walk among the throng of civilization. Like the burgeoning societies that mill about university café’s and alehouses the Gakusha come together to share details on their research. Over wine and poetry notes are compared and the idiosyncrasies of mankind laid bare.

Most favored of these infiltrators are those that bring tales of their deeds while ensconced within the Byzantine power games that the movers and shakers of humanity play. All too often the anthropologist turns native and finds him or herself sucked into the vortex much to the delight of their peers. Is it not a great joy to transcend the vicarious nature of voyeurism and become the very object of one's study? Certainly! But there are dangers to such a path. An adult dragon is akin to a force of nature terrible and beyond all bar the most exceptional of mankinds' ability to harm. The young wyrmling though has many millennia to reach such godlike potential and for the moment they remain worryingly vulnerable. But then what are humanity if not fragile and to truly embody their struggle one must share in this last bitter cup.

Kekkei Genkai Name: Ōsanshōuohada (Salamander-Skin)
Kekkei Genkai Description: The Gakusha, for all their faults are a clan of nobility. An assembled group of those bound with dragon blood flowing through their veins and bolstering their chakra. Sworn to uphold order and observe, this rare and secret society often walks the streets silently watching, never for a moment revealing themselves least they scare others, though, on the rare occasion that they allow themselves to be known for whom they truly are, myths often follow their wake... Of men who can turn into dragons, or dragons hiding in the skins of men.

Gakusha Clan Mjtwza

  • Ōsanshōuohada (The Salamander Skin Cloak)

The KKG of the Gakusha allows them to transform to and from their ninja form into a monolithic and borderline terrifying beast. Focusing their chakra inwardly, cracks begin to appear in their human form like the breaking of a shell before shattering outwards in shards of almost crystalized chakra that break into millions of pieces in a dazzling visual display of light and color revealing the form of a Dragonlike beast erupting from it whose abilities and strengths grow in turn with the user as they meditate and reach states of enlightenment, however in any form, the transformation is costly in more ways than one.

Oddly enough, Gakusha clan members revert to their human forms in much the same manner they transform into their Dragonic. Paying the same chakra cost, to compose their human forms an almost solid cocoon of chakra forms around them, compressing their form down to its usual size before shining brightly and dimming to reveal their human state.

In their transformed state, members of the Gakusha clan at any rank benefit from the following:

  • Primal Weapons: Weapons such as their teeth, claws, and horns are considered to be weapons of their ninja rank and are able to deal the minimum damage for their ranks.

  • Primal Armour: Similar to their primal weapons, their layer of coarse protective scales acts as a heavy armor of their ninja rank, affording the basic protection of said armor.

D RANK:

At D Rank, at the cost of -30 chakra and without needing to train this ability, the Gakusha clan member after one post of preparation where the user is not able to pay chakra for techniques or abilities, is able to crack open their form to transform their body into that resembling a five meter long Dragon-like being.

  • In this state, the clan member gains +1 tier to their endurance stat. Additionally at the cost of -5 chakra per turn is able to flow their chakra internally, lightening themselves and enabling them to glide horizontally on breezes at their movement speed as if they were swimming. However, in this state, the user is incapable of casting jutsu.

C RANK:

At C Rank, the clan member can perform a 5k word training thread in which they attain a deeper level of spiritual enlightenment and pay 1k ryo to attain this form. At the cost of -30 chakra, the Gakusha clan member after one post of preparation where the user is not able to pay chakra for techniques or abilities, is able to crack open their form to transform their body into that resembling a seven and a half meter long Dragon-like being with longer claws and more pronounced fangs and horns.

  • In this state, they benefit from the prior advantages of their earlier stage, while now being able to use ninjutsu of their ninja rank and lower. Jutsu cast while in dragonic form cost -5 additional chakra, but, scale to their size, increasing 5m in total range and 2.5m in radii.

B RANK:
Requires 5k word training thread +1500 ryo
At B Rank, the clan member can perform a 5k word training thread in which they attain a deeper level of spiritual enlightenment and pay 1.5k ryo to attain this form. At the cost of -45 chakra, the Gakusha clan member after one post of preparation where the user is not able to pay chakra for techniques or abilities, is able to crack open their form to transform their body into that resembling a ten meter long Dragon-like being with claws and fangs that look as though they could crush bone.

  • In this state, the user gains +1 tier to their strength stat as well as the +1 to their endurance. Additionally, the user is able to glide on even the faintest of breezes at their movement speed without the cost of chakra. Jutsu cast while in dragonic form cost -5 additional chakra, but, scale to their size, increasing 10m in total range and 5m in radii.

A RANK:
Requires 5k word training thread +2000 ryo
At A Rank, the clan member can perform a 5k word training thread in which they attain a deeper level of spiritual enlightenment and pay 2k ryo to attain this form. At the cost of -45 chakra, the Gakusha clan member after one post of preparation where the user is not able to pay chakra for techniques or abilities, is able to crack open their form to transform their body into that resembling a twelve and a half meter long Dragon-like being with claws that look as though they could dig into solid stone and fangs that could rip ninja apart.

  • In this state, the user retains the advantages from their prior ranks, but at the cost of -10 chakra per turn has evolved past merely the ability to glide, and can instead fly up to 45m off the ground. Jutsu cast while in dragonic form cost -10 additional chakra, but, scale to their size, increasing 15m in total range and 7.5m in radii.

S RANK:
At S Rank, the clan member can perform a 5k word training thread in which they attain a deeper level of spiritual enlightenment and pay 2.5k ryo to attain this form. At the cost of -60 chakra, the Gakusha clan member is able to shatter open their human form in a brilliant spectacle to transform their body into that resembling a fifteen-meter long Dragon-like being. In the most advanced adult state, the clan member has claws that look as though they could rip through most steel like a can opener and fangs sharper than swords.

  • In this state, the user gains +1 tier to their Reaction Time stat as well as the +1 to their Strength and Endurance and is capable of their flight of up to 60m off the ground. Jutsu cast while in dragonic form cost -10 additional chakra, but, scale to their size, increasing 20m in total range and 10m in radii.

Awakening: Once the Gakusha clan member has reached S rank, they're able to perform a 10k word training thread +5k Ryo cost where they travel to a sacred natural site and meditate deeply, unlocking an inner potential deep within them. Awakening alters the clan members and their transformations form visually, as well as making themselves aligned with an element they of their choice that they possess: (Katon, Suiton, Raiton, Doton, Fuuton, Void (NA).). All jutsu of that element, as well as their transformations themselves, cost -5 less chakra to cast/maintain while they become resistant to or weak against any elements their alignment would be resistant or weak to, receiving +/- a rank of damage accordingly from those techniques. Awakening often carries with it a permanent visual alteration, be it a symbol, aura or color change in both their human and dragon states.

Gakusha Clan Mjtwza

Drawbacks: While the boons of the clan are many, they pay for it with their costly transformations which limit their chakra pool considerably over time as well as a slew of weaknesses that they opened themselves up to with the use of the primal chakra and energy that flows through their veins.

  • Human Frailty: While within their Dragon forms, members of the clan are mighty and strong. Their human forms, on the other hand, are anything but. Fair and delicate, as such, Gakusha clan members receive -2 tiers to their strength and endurance stats while in their human form.

  • Mythic: The chakra infused blood used to create the dualistic nature of their existence goes 2 ways. Members of the clan must spend the same amount of time and chakra entering their human forms as they do entering their dragonic ones, making quick changes costly and impractical. Additionally, having very physical chakra running through their blood, Gakusha clan members are easily picked up on by chakra sensing techniques requiring the clan members to use stealth techniques of 1 rank higher should they attempt to hide from them.

  • Elementally Polarized: Gakusha clan members are only capable of knowing 2 elements, beginning with their first at D rank and training it as they would a tertiary, while only being able to attain their secondary element at B rank. Additionally, they are unable to take the Hesitant (Element) Negative special characteristic.

  • Inhuman Forme: Members of the Gakusha clan never look quite right, always having one or two subtle signs of their dragonic form present in their human form, as well as looking a little 'too' perfect causing them not to be trusted by merchants and increasing their Ryo cost for items by 10%. Additionally, while in dragonic form, the clan member is incapable of wielding or wearing armor, clothing or weapons that are not made specifically for the form and cannot begin with wearing them immediately after transformation.

  • Pact Prone: Due to their status as halfway between that of a chakra aligned animal, as well as that of a human, the chakra within their bodies, is far easier to manipulate with the effects of fuuinjutsu. Fuuinjutsu gains +1 rank in effectiveness against Gakusha clan members.

I have a few issues:

  • Please remove the plus 20 chakra pool.
  • I don't want them to be able to use jutsu in the air until A rank.
  • Please add a clause to the Element drawback that they cannot take Hesitant (Element).
  • Give them a training WC for all ranks past D, they can have D rank for free, maybe have it be pertinent to them getting used to their new body and abilities while you're at it specify a word count for the awakening thing, I'd like it to be at least 5,000 words.
