Nova Makato

Nova Makato

A-rank
Trial Three:

Nova sat up groggily, her head pounding and mouth dry. She rubbed her hand against the back of her head, feeling a knot there though she did not remember acquiring the wound. Looking around, she did not recognize where she was, a room that seemed to be in ruins. The only illumination was the pale glow of the moon and stars pouring through a large hole in the room. Looking down she saw that she was still dressed in her sleepwear from the night before, emerald green sleep shorts with little spiders all over them and a black tank top, her hair still wound in a messy bun sticking up from the top of her head and a very thin silk robe that fell to just below her knees. The robe was dirty from her being curled up on the floor and she noticed she was also barefoot. It appeared that she was inside of some dilapidated building, beams hanging from the roof and the wood appearing to be scorched. Nova wiped her forehead of the sweat that was there, the temperature around her being well warmer than she was used to even in the deserts of Suna. She rose to her feet, having to lean against the wall to get up with her prosthetic leg. Looking through a large hole in the wall, Nova saw a number of other buildings there as well, all in the same shape as the one she had awoken in, though many were starting to glow with orange tinged flames. Scattered about was a sorry assortment of plant life, all in various stages of fire damage, some of them appearing to have just started burning. Though she hadn't gone far there was no sign of Kurogokegomus puppet body anywhere to be seen. The lump on the back of her head throbbing Nova raised her hands to the back of her head, preparing to channel chakra through her hands to heal the slight wound quickly and relieve her of the unnecessary pain. She reached inside herself to draw the chakra out and felt it building in her palms, though the typical glowing that usually accompanied it was not present. Brow furrowing with focus she tried again, though the chakra simply wouldn't flow out of her body.

She felt her gut clench, and raised her hand to try to draw out one of her puppet threads, a jutsu that she was well practiced with. Concentrating all towards creating the thread she struggled, feeling the chakra but unable to use it. She shook her head, realizing now that her chakra must be sealed. The seal must have been placed when Nova was knocked unconscious and placed here. Though her head was still aching, Nova came to the realization that this must be the start of her third trial, a rush of adrenaline flowed through her. Her heart started pounding and the heat of the moment cleared the pain from her head, though she was certain she would feel it tomorrow. Striding awkwardly out of the house, both sore from the hard floor that she laid on and her wooden prosthetic limb slowing her down, she looked around to see if there were any other genin in vision. Emerging from the slowly burning building to the left, Nova saw a familiar face running out the doorway. An acquaintance from Suna village and fellow exam taker representing Kiri, the flowing mane of red hair swept around Izumi's face. Dressed in a skimpy set of black sleeping shorts and white tank top, she wore a flustered expression on her face as her eyes met Nova's. Nova nodded her head in recognition, limping quickly over to her.

Halfway across the poorly maintained roadway Nova's head shot to the right seeing fast movement. Jumping rooftop to rooftop a masked shinobi moved lightning fast, his body blurred by speed. Though he was several building away she knew that they would be upon them in just a moment. From one of the ruined buildings in the unknown shinobi's path another figure emerged, a tall lanky boy with snow white hair that flowed about his face. Also adorned in what Nova assumed to be sleepwear as he was wearing nothing other than a thin white tee and plaid boxers in an icy blue and grey print, Nova realized that Izumi and herself had another ally in the third trial. Fear sunk into Nova's heart, all she had on her was a single kunai, her puppet gone and her jutsu's unusable, and she looked to Izumi searching her face for an answer of what to do.

Izumi woke with a start, her head pounding and sweat pouring off of her. The young Kariusma looked about, assessing her situation. There were flames all around, and she was on a dusty floor in what appeared to be an abandoned building. Izumi couldn’t help but panic for a second and pinch her arm. Izumi was sure she was simply having a nightmare about that night in Sunagakure, however the pinch did nothing but cause a bit of pain. Most of the flames were concentrated in the Izumi had managed to save some children and a good number of regular citizens from the flames and destruction wrought by the powerful Sarutobi man Mitsuo. Once it was clear that the scene was real, Izumi allowed herself to panic for five full seconds, counting down in her head from five all the way to zero. At zero, Izumi took a deep breath and stood, it seems that this must be a part of the third trial. They must be testing her ability to react to an unexpected situation. Izumi reached out to the flames in an attempt to put them out however she felt as though she was somehow disconnected from chakra. No matter how much tried she couldn’t conjure any of it. It also seems that she was taken here in the outfit she had been wearing the night before. While not exactly modest clothing, the short black cotton shorts and the white cotto tank top at least were pretty ideal for her current predicament. Izumi was at least somewhat well rested. She had gone to bed early knowing that her third trial was going to be next the day. It must have been early in the morning because through the windows of the dilapidated building she was laid to rest in, she could see the night sky. Izumi needed to get out of the building, it wasn’t going to hold much longer and she didn’t want to end up like that poor child she had failed to save from the Sunagakure academy while it was burning.

Izumi could feel the heat from the fire causing her to sweat. Thankfully they had left her hair tied up, so luckily for her it wouldn’t add to the discomfort and distraction. Izumi noticed a broken wall that she could escape through. The young woman leapt over the broken wall easily and into what appeared to be a main street in the ruins of the old Kumo. Once again, Izumi was plagued by grim flashbacks as she observed the holocaust raging about her. It also appeared that she was not alone. Izumi could see two familiar faces, Hanza Kouri and Nova Makato. The two fellow Mist Village representatives must have been given the same task as her. Although it still remained to be seen if they were allies or foes in this instance. Izumi had observed a few trials where the Genin taking them were tasked with battling each other rather than working together. Izumi hoped that wasn’t the case but still was ready for anything. The young Karisuma teen noticed another person almost too late. The man was looking sinister, like he meant to hurt the young genin. A loud PA system would kick in, a dangerous voice sounding from all around, ”You kids are in for quite the night. The proctor for this exam is a special jounin who specializes in Katon Ninjutsu. His task is to stop you kids from escaping Old Kumo by any means necessary. Only one of you needs to escape for all of you to succeed. It’s in your best interest not to fight back. It will only make it hurt worse. Good luck.

Clearly the sinister looking man was the one tasked with stopping them from escaping the inferno they had been placed in. The sinister man sitting on the rooftop in the middle of the road was smiling down at the trio of genin. It appeared they were looking to her for answers, hoping she could lead them. All three of them had been brought here in what appeared to be their sleepwear, all kidnapped and taken to this hellscape where they were to escape a man far behind their ability. Izumi had fought man similar to this before and it didn’t work out for her at all. The correct choice was obviously to just run away. However if they all ran in the same direction the man could simply take them all out in one large blast. They needed to split up, and someone needed to be a distraction maybe a couple of some ones. ”Hanza, Nova. We need to work together here. I’m definitely the fastest of the three of us. No offense to either of you, Nova has a leg and a half and I’ve worked with you before Hanza. I’ll need you two to distract him while I do my best to get out of the city. At my max speed, I estimate I can get out in a little over thirty seconds if I’m given the opportunity to run in straight line unimpeded. That’s what you two are for. Do your best and remember only one of us needs to get out of the city for us all to make it to the exam finals.” The Karisuma teen would wait for them to acknowledge her plan and start their distractions before bolting off in the opposite direction, trying her best to escape and to succeed for the three of them.

Hanza

Hanza

With two victories under his belt now, only a single trial remained between Hanza and the next stage of the chunin exams. It was with no knowledge of when the next trial would take place that’s a Hanza would lay down in his hotel room that night and sink into a delicate slumber. He was at peace and for once, he felt a good rest was possible for the first time in weeks. It took almost no time for the young, snowy-haired Kiri-Nin to fade into that wonderful feeling of rest. His dreams would begin joyful and upbeat. His mother and father asking him how he had been the last few months. His old home, the streets he had walked in his youth. It was so familiar and comfortable. Until a sort of static came across the visage. And then a pain at his temple. He looked around his old home to notice everyone had left. And then he smelled smoke. Everything was on fire.

Hanza opened his eyes with a gasp and began to cough sporadically. He was disoriented and it was unbearably hot. He was no longer in his hotel room. A passionate orange glow could be seen through the broken rubble of the walls of the building he was within. Fire. It raged outside, coming inward toward him. He stood and walked out of the building, at which point he was shocked to see two women in little more than pajamas. One of which was Izumi Karisuma, someone he had become rather acquainted with over the last trial. Her hair was up, and her clothing consisted of a white tank-top, and short black shorts. The other woman, whom remained unnamed to Hanza at this time, had red hair much like that of Izumi, except with teal mixed in. It was difficult for Hanza to tell exactly which parts were teal as it was up in a messy bun. She wore emerald sleeping shorts with a black tank-top.

Had everyone been dragged out of their beds and thrown into this? Were those two the only others? Hanza would have minimal composure here, as the temperature would have the most effect on him, being someone who required such a low body temperature to be maintained. All he could think to do was to cool himself with Hyōton. He stumbled out of the building and attempted to mold chakra, with absolutely no success. He would try his best to do so, once more. Failing again. He looked to the two women before him and made his way to them, joining them in a circle.

An unsettling figure from above seemed to speak over some sort of system. He explained the situation. At least one of them was to escape in order to succeed. A special Jounin would be hunting them down with fire jutsu as this was attempted. They had no access to their chakra. This task was going to be literal hell.

Hanza looked to the familiar Izumi first, hearing oht her logical plan to allow her to make the dash for the exit whilst himself and the newcomer, Nova, attempted to stall and distract. It was a solid plan, and Hanza couldn’t come up with anything better. All he had was suggestions.

No real time for proper introductions, but to be quick my name is Hanza. I’ve gathered yours is Nova and we must both know Izumi from previous encounters.” he took a breath to regulate his racing heartbeat. “Most of the surrounding buildings have been set alight, it is only a matter of time before we are isolated to only a single straight pathway, out in the open. That will not bode well. This special Jounin can likely disable Nova and myself in one swift encounter. That means direct combat is not an option. All of us need to take advantage of the structural weakness of these buildings. Get inside of them and make your way toward the exit. He doesn’t know which of us is the fastest unless we show him. So we split up and use the cover of the buildings, dodging and ducking through windows to move from one to the next. He will not be able to find us all in time.” Hanza looked at the two with a somber, slightly fearful expression. “No matter what you hear, no matter if you lose sight of us, you don’t stop running forward.

With that said, Hanza would nod in assurance and bolt toward the leftmost set of burning buildings, ripping his T-shirt down the middle to reveal a rather toned physique before tying the cloth around his mouth to filter the smoke. He offered the rest to them if they’d have it before he disappeared into the building.

Nova nodded as the plan of action was quickly discussed. Nova had settled with the fact that she would not be the one to make it out, without her puppet and chakra she was an inconvenience more than anything, and though she did not voice it, felt sorry that these two fine genin were paired with someone as useless as her for this trial. Without Kurogokegamu at her side, Nova was relatively useless, especially with the clumsy wooden leg she was fitted with. The unusually dressed trio nodded in understanding of the plan to split and run, using the decrepit buildings and the smoke and blaze to obscure them best as possible. The plan was as long as one of them got out, it would qualify them all as passing the trial three. The old village and its chaos stretches 200 meters from where they found themselves in the middle. Looking back once more and nodding, they all shot off in different directions as the special jonin in charge of stopping them lept to the ground near them.

She started to sprint down the nearest alleyway. Her wooden leg made for an awkward, clumsy, falling gait and clattered against the gravel that laid over the sand as she sprinted, coming quickly to a dead end. She slid as she tried to turn, crashing against the wall. Shoving off to gain momentum, she turned to the left and stretched her legs out as far as she could, trying to move faster. She was unable to hear much other than her own strides and her heartbeat and continues forward, trying to listen for the steps of the man she hoped she would avoid. Glancing over her shoulder she came to a left turn, not slowing down while taking it. Nova tried to stop, her feet slipping out from over her in the gravel and she fell heavily on her behind. Sliding a few feet forward Nova trembled as she nearly ran headlong into a mess of burning building that had collapsed into the alley itself. She stood quickly, her body aching already as she was not as prepared for physical exertion as she was the rest of her skills. Spinning on her heels she headed back to where she had made the turn and headed in the opposite direction. This way, though there was some debris in the way, was at least absent of the glowing inferno for the time being.

Nova stopped for a moment to catch her breath, she had not run far but the lack of limb exhausted her quickly, especially in matters such as this. Her wooden leg felt like it weighed a ton attached to her, and the rest of her body was shaking from nerves and fear. She wiped her burning face with the sleeve of her thin silk robe and started jogging off further down the road. The roar of the flames seemed to grow louder with each step and the temperature increased on her skin, her cheeks nearly felt as though they were blistering. The building on each side were cracking and screeching as their integrity was being whittled down. Nova heard an echoing crack from above, the noise noticeable over the sounds of her pounding heart and feet and the crackling flames. Nova's head shot around, and she saw the masked shinobi on the rooftop beside her, shingles and pieces of the weakened building being kicked loose by his strides, dropping and shattering on the ground. Gasping and pumping her arms faster Nova pressed forward, but as she took a stride still looking at the man, her good foot caught on a burning falling beam that she had not spotted.

Nova slid face first through the sharp gravel that made up the alleyway, the pieces of stones slicing into her chin and palms as she caught herself. Her ankle screamed in agony, but as she rolled to her back to be prepared a huge rush of adrenaline filled her body, numbing the pain for now. The man was almost upon her, moments from leaping from the roof top straight to her. Scrambling backwards, still sitting Nova's eyes darted around full of panic and settled on the ever weakening and crumbling wall beside her. The very one that had once been supported by the beam that caused her fall. Without a second thought she shoved both her feet against the wall as hard as she could, lining up with the cracked and bare spot that was once occupied with the support. The wall groaned over its own weight, wavering in the sky and cracking the plaster, flames eating away at its openings. It leaned back and started to bend, before it snapped back and began its destructive descent. The wall fell as the shinobi jumped, and Nova covered her head with her hands and curled up, hoping the wall would not take her out as well. There was a roar of devastation as wood, stone, paint, and embers mixed together in the air over a mountain of rubble.

Nova held her breath and covered her eyes and ears as the hellstorm rained down, the crashes echoing in her body. Her ears rang and the alley fell quiet besides the ever present crackling of flames. She gulped down a breath and slowly opened her eyes, to a vision of ash raining down on her and a singed and still burning rubble of a building. She had not been crushed, a different support beam had fallen against the building on the other side of the building propping the weight just a meter or two above her. Had she been one meter to the right, she would have found herself impaled on a splintered shred of the building. To the left, crushed by a burning chunk of wall. Her eyes burned as soot and ashes swirled around her, inescapable. She slid up to sit, and then turned to crouch and walk out of the rubble. She did not hear the footsteps of the man, nor did she see him, but that did not mean that she had evaded him by any means. She tried to slink quietly along the wall, where the other building obscured vision and she saw a window to her left, the glass already long shattered. An idea hatching in her mind she quickly undid the clasps that held her leg in place and slid it off, she quickly wedged it down into the rubble and tore the bottom half of her silk robe off, shoving it beneath a blazing chunk of wall. She hopped comedicly to the window once more. Hoisting herself up to the windowsill Nova slid inside, falling to the floor and pressing her back against the wall beneath it. Nova tried to silence her breathing, her heart still racing, to listen.

There it was, she heard the steps of the man over ceramic shingles, crunching through the debris. The steps headed in her direction, though Nova had been certain that she had remained hidden from view. She held her hand over her mouth and nose, eyes wide with fright. The crunching stopped just outside the window for a moment, she could hear the mans breathing as he came to a halt. His boots squeaked as he squatted down to pick up the wooden appendage and the burning silk. He rolled them in his hands a moment and let them drop to the ground, his eyes scanning the burning ruins. Lingering for a moment, the footsteps began again, and Nova heard them patter vertically up the wall and then across the rooftops once more. She collapsed flat against the door, her chest heaving and her eyes watering. Her body screamed from unused muscles being put to work, she was not well suited to running by any means. She caught her breath for a moment before sitting back up, trying to put the strength together to climb back out the window and retrieve her wooden appendage before it took any damage from the fire. She sighed heavily and though to herself, “I hope Hanza and Izumi make it out of here, they are the only hope of completing our mission...”

Hanza

Hanza

Hanza could feel the ardent caressing of the wild inferno, lapping flames occasionally singing what little tiny white hair was present on his arms. The building he had entered was two stories, and he had looked ahead just enough to know the next one was only a single floor, meaning he would be leaping from this one straight over to the roof of the next. His plan was not one that seemed overly complicated. He needed to remain as unseen as possible. The man in charge of taking the three of them down would not risk allowing a wild card genin to slip out of sight. Hanza felt relatively confident that the Special Jounin would pursue him and would catch him.

That was necessary, as while the Special Jounin wasted his time hunting the Kōri clansmen, either Izumi or Nova would be the true threats here, fast and furious as they might have been.

The ripped cloth over his mouth only did so much for him, his white hair quickly becoming more ashen, and even black with soot in some places. The buildings he would be choosing to scale and leap across were not too structurally weak at this point. The flames had only started a few minutes before the three of them were awakened, at most. Hanza pushed his elbow forward and charged through a glass window, landing and rolling across the ceiling of the next building. When he rose to his feet, his left foot smashed through the weak tile. He was able to recover only be a hair as he continued his forward dash. He could see Izumi from this vantage, only briefly however. She seemed to be taking the most advantage of the situation, moving with extreme haste.

Unfortunately, Hanza also caught a glimpse of Nova as he took a risky jump onto the rickety metal stairs on the side of a large three story building. The poor girl seemed to be ducking and dodging her best away from the deadly debris. It was at that moment that Hanza saw the masked shinobi. And then his forward momentum carried him away from what he imagined was an unsightly thing. Nova has served her role. Hanza was surely next.

The metal ladders and stairs were scary just to climb on, let alone knowing that the attached building was currently ablaze. It was as Hanza pulled himself up to the next level, at the second floor, that what sounded like a missile seemed to whirr toward him.

BOOM!

An explosion as devastating as an explosive tag hit the top of the building Hanza was scaling. The metal supports for the ladder he was hanging on to gave way. With only milliseconds to act, Hanza thrust himself through the window at his left, rolling into the second floor of the building. Within it were office chairs and desks. It seemed the computers had been loaded up and taken away for the purposes of the exams. As Hanza zipped as quickly as he could through the building, he could hear it creak and groan. And as he looked back, all he could make out was a dark silhouette coming through the flames.

He grinned. This was a good thing. Izumi was likely so close to the finish now. She had clearly been left unassaulted up to this point. Hanza leapt through the next window and sought to land in the grass below. It was about 20 meters to the next building and he couldn’t have cleared it with a single leap. As he thought he was free, another explosion hit.

BOOM!

Hanza ended up more than clearing the twenty meters. His entire back covered in major 2nd degree burns. The rest of his damage being bruising from his crash landing into the next building. The city was growing more ablaze by the second. His pain was excruciating. His eyes were bloodshot. And they closed, gently as he surrendered to the anguish. The building around him smoldering lightly as he heard and felt the rumbling around him.

Have I contributed enough to win this? Do I deserve it?

He clenched his pale fists and forced himself to a standing position, he would not allow Izumi to make the rest of this all on her own. He had not pulled his share yet. He ran forward, staggering at first, then forgetting his pain in a rush of adrenaline. Hanza had achingly trained for months. He had braved the streets of Konoha as an outsider and an outcast. He had found pieces of himself that he had not known existed. The burning sensation that he felt from shoulder to shoulder, all the way to the small of his back would never compare to the soreness he had felt for months as his muscles struggled to catch up with him.

No. All of that hard work would be put to shame if he didn’t persevere just a bit longer. It seemed he would be crucially needed in the next few moments, making it arguably the most important decision he had made throughout these exams. The special jounin had counted Hanza out, and from the soft ground he now stood upon, the snowy haired man could see the menacing figure looking over Izumi from the top of the tallest building in the are. At seven stories, this location gave him a sweeping view of the entire area, and Hanza knew the man was tracing out Izumi’s path with his eyes. She was so close. So very close, and so capable. Hanza made a break for it. Flying as quickly as his legs could carry him, he scaled every set of stairs in the emergency exit stairwell. Sweat and soot painted his scorched body as he made it out onto the top floor of the building and spotted his target. The hooded figure seemed to bide his time. Overly confident that he would put an end to this trial.

He would pay for that error. Hanza rushes forward and for that moment time would have seemed to have reached a standstill. A hanseal began to form from the special jounin. The white haired, slightly limping assailant rushes forward as quickly as he could. That jutsu could have been the end of the entire trial. A failure stamped promptly on all three of the young genin. Disqualification from the next rounds.

Flames began to spew forward and as they did Hanza leapt forward, grabbing the man’s head in the bend of his arm and carrying them both off the seven story building, flames enveloping Hanza evenso. The delivery of this emotionally charged maneuver was in fact stone cold. They would both plummet into the water below, a small pond breaking some of the fall and dousing the now fully covered Hanza Kōri. The young man would be covered from head to toe with moderate second degree burns, requiring to be carried off field by a medical team. He would be spending the rest of his days prior to the next stages in intense recovery. And that was fine.

Carry on, Izumi. Win this for us.

Hanza was the first to respond, quickly agreeing with Izumi’s plan of action. “No real time for proper introductions, but to be quick my name is Hanza. No matter what you hear, no matter if you lose sight of us, you don’t stop running forward.” Izumi nodded in agreement, she wouldn’t stop for anything, it was true, Izumi was the fastest among them however, she had also chosen herself to run in hopes of avoiding injuries. Izumi had been pretty lucky thus far, the only injury she had sustained thus far being the kunai to her arm in the first trial and that had long since healed. Izumi wanted to avoid a long recovery and Izumi also wasn’t sure how Hanza or Nova would deal with the pressure of running through a city on fire. Izumi had experienced this and more, she had lived through the real thing. Complete with death and destruction of real homes and lives. Izumi would nod at the young man and take his proffered strips of fabric that he had torn from his shirt exposing his well-toned chest. Izumi tied the fabric over her mouth to help deal with smoke and ash that was now simply part of the ambience.

The plan in place, they ran off in different directions, Hanza and Nova choosing to take paths that would likely draw the attention of the special jounin proctor tasked with stopping them from completing their trial. This was the last task between them and the tournament portion of the exam. As Izumi ran down the street, she looked about ensuring the special jounin proctor hadn’t chosen to track her down first. Hanza had made a good point it would not be a good idea to reveal which of them was the fastest off the bat. The young woman would take off at a jog allowing Hanza to take a slight lead. Once she was sure the Special Jounin wasn’t following her she took off at a sprint. Izumi had one goal which was to reach the finish line and complete her third trial. Izumi had learned quickly once she had a proper mentor she was in top physical shape for a ninja of her experience. In fact she had yet to see another genin who matched her physical prowess yet. Izumi was excited for the dueling portion. Izumi hadn’t had much experience in dueling however the young woman had many techniques at her disposal. She had shown off only a couple of her techniques, enough to give slight information on her ability but still had enough waiting that she was sure she could surprise some people. The young woman’s physical ability however was no secret. She had clearly shown her speed and reflexes in the second trial when she nearly killed one of the proctors. Izumi had only pulled up at the last second when she remembered it was only a drill. Izumi has been to hell and back. The young woman had been in the village when the fighting began, had helped people evacuate from the conflagration that engulfed her childhood and ancestral home. The young woman was focused and determined, ready to complete her mission. She was brutal and efficient, the trauma she had suffered at such a young age had hardened her. Izumi had the important ability for any kunoichi to be able to set aside any emotion and complete her task. Izumi was jumping through windows and darting from alley to alley, wanting to avoid detection as best as possible.

In the distance there was a loud crash, no doubt one of her fellow trail takers being caught or worse. Izumi wondered who it might be, whether it was Hanza or Nova it didn’t matter. It was good news if their distraction tactics were working. Only one of them needed to escape, and their strategy was for Izumi to be the one to do so.  Soon after the loud crash, there was a loud explosion. The man must be upon her other comrade the first was most likely easily dealt with given the time between booms. There was another loud boom, her second comrade must have been putting up quite a fight. Izumi dare not look back, that would only serve to slow her down. Izumi raced ahead and pulled out into the main street. This was her time to dash for the finish, she broke into a full sprint, headlong towards the city limits. Izumi had the strange feeling that she was being watched and for a brief moment, her concentration was broken and she dared look back. The Special Jounin was finally eyeing her. There was no one left to distract him and Izumi was still at least 30m from the end, for a normal person the three seconds it would take her to cover would be ample time. However this was the ninja world and that was more than enough time for the man to stop her. She could see that the man had a hand seal prepared and was going to fire his technique at her at any moment. There was a flash of movement, and to Izumi’s surprise the man was tackled off the building. It was Hanza he had taken the technique for her and tackled the man off the building. Well done Hanza. Izumi felt slightly bad, she would not have done the same for him, she resolved to visit him to help him nurse his wounds. Izumi’s terror and guilt came to a quick end as elation took over when she crossed the city limits. Izumi had completed the trial for all three of them.
