Kuroka [Revamp] HhU72Pp
Clan History: The exact origin of the Kuroka Clan is unclear. All that is known is that the Clan appeared around 350 years ago in Kirigakure. Though they were sometimes chaotic, they were fiercely loyal to the Mizukage and to the village itself. However, this changed when the 4th Mizukage took his place as the village's leader. He began to persecute those that possessed Kekkei Genkai abilities. Only a select few of the Kuroka survived the 4th Mizukage's genocide. They endured years of massacres and persecutions at the hands of their fellow shinobi.

Evidently, they now had nothing but contempt towards Kirigakure. They rebelled and left the village as a whole. The new group of defective shinobi became known as mercenaries across the land. They served anyone who could pay their high prices and often fought each other because they were hired by different groups or individuals. The Kuroka Group, as they were called, gained infamy for their merciless and honorless fighting style. It took years and generations for the Kuroka to disband and scatter across the shinobi world. Nevertheless, they are still feared for being some of the most dangerous shinobi out there.

The Kuroka hold yearly meetings where all members attend. This is mainly so that the different groups and branches of the clan can keep in touch. The leader of the clan possesses an empty scabbard that symbolized the clan's Kekkei Genkai and denotes him or her as the leader. This position can be challenged through a fight, where the resulting winner earns the title. Said challenges almost always happen during the clan's yearly meetings.

Nowadays, the Kuroka are recognizable by a series of physical traits. They all have silver-colored hair and are born with the clan's symbol tattooed on their backs. Though there are many exceptions, they tend to be very rash and straightforward people. Their set of morals are very particular since each has their own definition of what "good" and "bad" mean.

The unformed Sword-Soul

Kekkei Genkai Name: Sword-Soul | 剣の魂 Tamashī no Ken
Kekkei Genkai Description: The leaders of the Kuroka believe that the soul of every warrior holds a weapon, this weapon is equally a part of their soul as any other facet or portion. The Tamashī no Ken, or Sword-Soul is strengthened through victory and the destruction of one's foes, victory is in turn harnessed as power is taken by force as a power that tempers the sword soul. This spiritual logic of blades is not only true for the Kuroka, but in others as well, the Kuroka have simply managed to tap into and harness this portion of the spirit more directly than other ninjas, manifesting their Tamashī no Ken into the physical world as a technique, and even being able to take the Tamashī no Ken of others they've defeated...

Through the use of the Sword-Soul, and its use as a separate Tenketsu outside of the Kuroka's usual body. Kuroka clan members are able to integrate that into their weapon fighting, allowing them to use stances and ritualistic movements with their blades, strikes or otherwise in place of hand-seals to perform their Bukijutsu techniques.

  • Kuroka clan members get +10 chakra to their chakra pool due to the existence of an additional Tenketsu in their system.
  • Kuroka clan members get +1 tier to their strength/endurance stats due to their highly aggressive combat style.

Tamashī no Ken:

The manifestation of the Sword-Soul is different for every Kuroka, while the name is misleading, the weapon they materialize from it does not necessarily have to be a sword, it can be any weapon and usually encapsulates the theme of the person whom it originated from; a process that involves a mixture of their personality, their primary weapon style if applicable, element they primarily rely on and the style of techniques they typically employ. These factors accumulate into a weapon forged from the Kurokas' chakra that can be summoned by the Kuroka at any time as a technique.

Tamashī no Ken techniques are to be applied as jutsu and are always able to deliver maximum damage on impact without drawback and can be destroyed with 1 technique of a rank higher or 2 of equal rank. Additionally, they should be stored at the top of the user's jutsu registry and count towards the user's restricted jutsu slots should they be trained to S rank or higher.

Tamashī no Ken: Siphoning
At Sp. Jounin, A Kuroka is able to perform a 9k word training thread and pay 2500 ryo to learn the Art of Siphoning. Generally considered a Kinjutsu, Siphoning is a thinly veiled secret of the Kuroka clan, the art of Siphoning is the ability to forcibly take the Sword-Soul from a warrior the user defeated or killed by making physical contact and at the cost of -50 chakra, usually meaning the opponent has to be soundly defeated. By removing the Sword Soul Tenketsu and using it they're able to forge a second Tamashī no Ken from their enemies' attributes. The effect of having your Soul-Sword Siphoned is painful, and it leaves a physical scar upon the victim, usually on their dominant arm.

Tamashī no Ken taken from another ninja is able to have an elemental nature which that person possessed and begins at D rank, requiring to be trained step by step just as the user's Tamashī no Ken. If the Tamashī no Ken has an elemental affinity which doesn't belong to the user, it can still be summoned normally, but cannot possess any active abilities which require chakra at any rank.

~Basic:
15 chakra to activate, 5 to maintain

As a Genin, the Kuroka clan member is able to manifest the first form of their Tamashī no Ken as a D rank technique after completing a 2000 word training thread and paying 500 ryo. At this rank, the weapon is often an unformed sum of chakra in the vague shape of a weapon with a hue encompasing its element.

Tamashī no Ken at this rank have no passive, active abilities or functions beyond their shape other than their standard damage.

~C Rank:
20 chakra to activate, 5 to maintain

As a Genin, the Kuroka clan member is able to reforge the first form of their Tamashī no Ken through victory after completing a 2500 word training thread in which they defeat an opponent of their own rank or higher and paying 500 ryo they're able to re-app their Tamashī no Ken as a C rank technique.

Tamashī no Ken at this rank appear solid as if made of steel like any other blade albiet tarnished and unrefined. At this rank Tamashī no Ken can have an intricate mechanical function (Ie. effects requiring moving parts, separatable blades, reloading chambers etc.)

~B Rank:
25 chakra to activate, 5 to maintain

As a Chunin, the Kuroka clan member is able to reforge the second form of their Tamashī no Ken through victory after completing a 3000 word training thread in which they defeat an opponent of their own rank or higher and paying 750 ryo they're able to re-app their Tamashī no Ken as a B rank technique.

Tamashī no Ken at this rank often appear sleeker and more refined, though are plain and have little elegance to them. At this rank, they're able to have a single passive ability as well as their mechanical function (Ie. A flame aura for a Katon blade etc.)

~A Rank:
30 chakra to activate, 10 to maintain

As a Sp. Jonin, the Kuroka clan member is able to reforge the third form of their Tamashī no Ken through victory after completing a 3500 word training thread in which they defeat an opponent of their own rank or higher and paying 1000 ryo they're able to re-app their Tamashī no Ken as an A rank technique. At this rank the Kuroka can possess 3 swords in total through the art of Siphoning.

Tamashī no Ken at this rank appear sleek and refined, almost legendary often with elegant designs down the weapon. At this rank they may possess an active ability that requires an additional chakra cost to activate, this active ability requires a cooldown and interact with other techniques as if its a jutsu with a minimum chakra cost equal to its own, but may not exceed the parameters of a B rank technique. (Ie. Could pay 20 chakra to fire a projectile from the blade that deals B rank jutsu damage/effects.)

~S Rank:
35 chakra to activate, 10 to maintain

As a Jonin, the Kuroka clan member is able to reforge their Tamashī no Ken to its final form through victory after completing a 4000 word training thread in which they defeat an opponent of their own rank or higher and paying 1500 ryo they're able to re-app their Tamashī no Ken as an S rank technique. At this rank, the Kuroka can possess 5 swords in total through the art of Siphoning.

Tamashī no Ken at this rank have achieved their ultimate power, and appear as almost blazing representations of their element as they emit power and prestige from their immaculate forms. The active abilities upon Tamashī no Ken interact with other techniques as if its a jutsu with a minimum chakra cost equal to its own as usual, but may not exceed the rank of the weapon itself.

Drawbacks:

While the KKG of the Kuroka clan is powerful, it comes with its own share of potent drawbacks. Members of the Kuroka clan must have Bukijutsu with the subspec that would allow them to use a weapon of the type they summon as thier Tamashī no Ken, though they can have Tamashī no Ken without bukijutsu, though they must take the form of weapons that could be used without it, and cannot have active abilties at any rank.

  • Altered System: The chakra systems of the Kuroka clan are different to that of the average ninja. Chakra flows through their body slightly differently, whether it be their own, or that of others making healing techniques less effective against them. As such, Kuroka clan members must take the Pharmacaphobia Negative Special Characteristic and cannot balance it with an additional positive.

  • Genjutsu Prone: The Tamashī no Ken of the Kuroka is an extended portion of their own spirit, and thus, techniques such as genjutsu triggers etc, that make contact with their Tamashī no Ken, act as though they are also hitting the user. In addition to this, genjutsu techniques require and additional -10 chakra for Kuroka clan members to break out of with any technique that would allow them to do so, including ki.

  • Limited Plethora: Kuroka clan members, due to their focus on their Tamashī no Ken don't put a lot of focus on other techniques, as such. Kuroka clan members can only have a maximum of 6 jutsu of a rank higher than their ninja rank.

  • Sharp Focus: Kuroka clan members focus on intent styles with their fighting usually best suited to 1 on 1 duels. As such, they receive a -2 tier perception penalty to any opponent that is not within 10m the enemy that is their current focus.

  • Dedicated Training: Kuroka clan members must put in a lot more dedicated training with the weapons they intend to use, due to the close bond they create with each weapon. Learning subspecs for Kuroka is an almost intimate personal experience and requires an additional 2000 words to train each subspec.

Let's get straight to it luv?

KKG:

  • WC and Ryo: Just as a small suggestion, you could lower the WC and Ryo cost for the lower ranks [D-B] as you aren't really getting anything out of it at first. Other than maximum damage, and 1 mechanical function at C-rank. Plus they greatly overshadow the normal jutsu WC and Ryo requirements for training jutsu.

  • Number of Blades: Right now you're only getting four, despite the rank rules allowing 5 S-ranks. Though if you want to talk about it send me a PM or we can talk on discord. (One, you're not going to waste chakra to summon all five of them in a thread, much less use all their abilities even once.) Additionally, getting extra S-rank jutsus? Nope. :3

And that's all of it for now.

I'm rather fascinated with how you've 'interpreted' this clan, amazing work once again Ayakashi. Just know you aren't out of the park yet though.

Well, I still cringe at the 12,000 requires WC or the 4250 ryo you'd have to pay to get one full poweref weapon. Though with the power of these chakra weapons it seems moderately reasonable. Additionally, after another look at it there's no reason to deny you 5 S-rank chakra weapons if you're allowed 5 S-ranks. If a Kuroka wants to invest the time and money into a fifth weapon why deny them? So change that. ^_^

Those are my thoughts for now.
