Nozomi and the other contestants materialized once again in a new stage. Immediately, Nozomi had a sinking feeling in her stomach, prompted by the gravity of the situation. That being that she had been materialized in a chasm and was now plummeting down into the abyss. Redirecting herself in the fall, Nozomi made sure she was not upside down, as if she was going to fall, she needed to control her descent so that she didn't break her neck upon landing or something like that. For all she knew, the challenge might have just been to not die on impact, but that didn't seem in line with the challenges that she'd faced up until now. All of them were solvable with more than just physical endurance. Sure, that stuff helped, but it wasn't a necessity.

Landing, Nozomi's first thought was that the ground was weird. It sank in to cushion her fall a bit, but then pushed back out as if she was bouncing. Her eyes adjusting to the dark, she frowned at what she saw. The ground around her was like some sort of sticky and malleable substance, but strong enough to support the weight of multiple people. It was only about a moment later that she realized it was some sort of webbing, but for a creature to have made webs this big, they had to be massive. A small shiver went up Nozomi's spine, as she was always quite unnerved by spiders. They were creepy, and a large one would be even more so. "Great. Stupid spiders. Can't fight a butterfly, could I?" she muttered to herself.

Concentrating her chakra into her pointer finger on her left hand, Nozomi's hand started to shoot off sparkler like bits of Raiton chakra. The chasm around her lit up as if there was a lantern held up, and Nozomi took a look around her to verify that there was in fact a giant web. Chakra formed at her feet as she utilized the Supernatural Walking Practice in order to unstick herself from the web, lucky enough to have not been caught by her body, and started to look for a way out. It didn't appear that there was anything around her, and that meant that the only actual way out would be back up at the top, so she'd have to scale her way out of the chasm, but upon looking up, she realized there was a problem with that.

Another short shudder ran through the Jounin as she saw, descending into the hole towards the victims it had trapped, a huge vibrant spider. It didn't appear to like her sparkler all that much, as it stayed near the other side of the hole, and attacked those that were still trapped in the web. Screams of pain and startled up roars came from that end, presumably made by unsuspecting contestants, too preoccupied with trying to release themselves. This wasn't something Nozomi was really comfortable with letting continue, even though she could probably get herself out no problem, and she knew the nature of these tests weren't dangerous beyond the test, and everyone would be fine.

She took a step forward, towards the spider, and the instant her foot stepped down on the web, it vibrated, sending a pulse out towards the spider. Noticing the movement, the spider instantly faced Nozomi, who froze slightly in her step. The spider took off towards Nozomi, the only one fully out of the web, blood trailing from its fangs. The movement of the giant creature was the key to snapping her out of her momentary fright, Nozomi launched herself into to air with a simple jump, using the bounce of the web to get her higher than she usually would be able to.

Holding out her right hand, Nozomi launched a barrage of petal blades towards the creature, consuming it with them, slicing through the body. While it was a formidable creature, it couldn't withstand her assault without jutsu itself, and so it stood no chance against her. Landing on a web, Nozomi's stream of petals ebbed down as the spider no longer moved. To her surprise and amusement, amongst the petals and the hole created in the web by her attack and the spider being sliced through it, there was candy. The entire thing was a simple pinata. Stifling a laugh, Nozomi ended her jutsu and launched herself upwards, through the maze of webs, using them as platforms to bounce up to the top of the chasm.

Jumping out, Nozomi wouldn't bother helping any of the people down there, as she'd done enough taking out the spider. She had done it, and she was now a qualifying contestant for the Championship Cup.
