Mission name: Capturing the Demon Fish [ Akuma no sakanawotoru - 悪魔の魚を捕る]
Rank: EVENT
Objective: Capture the magical demon fish.
Location: Namahage Festival Grounds
Reward: 10 Tickets
Mission description: A slightly altered version of the traditional Japanese festival game of scooping fish. Instead of a small inflatable pool, there is a 25 m radium pool behind the stalls, with meter-long demon fish (weighing approximately 15 lbs each) inside. Without causing irreparable damage to any of the fish, capture two of them and bring them ashore where they will be approved by the stall owner, then put the fish back.
Mission details: If any major damage is inflicted on the fish, the mission is considered an immediate failure. Each player will be given one E-rank net (easily breakable by the fish if simply used to attempt to scoop the fish out), a fishing rod (with a weight capacity of approximately 5 lbs), and a small can of fish bait. Any and all techniques may be used provided that it does not bring harm to the fish or to the surroundings. Each demon fish is 1 meter long and 15 lbs, with enough intelligence to evade easy capture, moving at speeds which scale according to the person hunting them, always just slightly faster. Their sharp teeth cause small puncture wounds that - when left unattended - can gradually cause numbing in the surrounding area of the bite.

One night Kiriya decided to go out for a walk. He would often go out like this just to look at the sky above. As he was walking through the village he suddenly heard festival music coming out of a distant place. He started following the music and soon found himself standing in front of some kind of a festival. He hadn’t seen anything like it in his whole life. Kiriya didn’t notice when he walked in and stopped in front of a stand.

“Gather around, gather around. You, the young boy with the eye covered up. Yes, I’m talking exactly to you.” It seemed like there was nobody around. For some reason Kiriya didn’t find anything strange about the festival. Despite being the first time he saw it.

“I have a great game for you. You seem intrigued. Tell you what, if you manage to scoop two fish out of the pool behind me you I will answer one question. I’m sure you’ve played the game before. You only have to bring me two fish and I’ll even give you a fishing rod, a net and a can of fish bait.”

Kiriya didn’t realize that he had not only accepted the strange man’s offer but he was even holding the fishing rod in his hands. The old man showed him the pool, which wasn’t what he thought it would be. Kiriya was imagining a small inflatable pool but was instead looking at a twenty five meter radius full of glowing green water. On top of that, inside of the pool were some scary looking fish. Every fish was at least one meter long. They were not your regular fish but instead looked like demon fish. They had dark scales with yellow markings along, glowing crimson red eyes and teeth sharp as needles. Kiriya wished he never came here but it was too late.

How the hell would he even catch one fish? Kiriya wasn’t sure that he would complete the task. As it seemed from a distance, the fish in the water were quite dangerous. They looked like they could bite off your arm all the way to the elbow.

He started throwing some fish bait in the water in front of him. As soon as the bait hit the water several fish swarm it and for a split second it was gone. The bait wouldn’t be of much help thought Kiriya. He had to figure out another way and it had to be fast. The use of jutsu wasn’t forbidden but the only jutsu he knew were offensive ones. The best thing he could use was the supernatural walking technique. Kiriya gathered enough chakra in his feet to let him walk on top of the water. He tried to put on some bait on the fishing rod and catch one of them that way. Whatever his plan was it didn’t really help. The fishes always were a little too fast for him barely escaping.

There was no other way. Kiriya had to catch them with his hands. More precisely, he was using his fingers as bait. He thought that these fish specifically would eat meat. The moment he put his left hand in the water one of the demon fishes tried to bite off his fingers. Kiriya tried not to think about the pain and grabbed the fish. After he gave it to the old man he returned to catch the second one.
Kiriya tried using the same technique but it seemed like the fishes had gained more intelligence and didn’t seem to be interested in his fingers anymore. He also hadn’t realized that the water he was standing on was toxic and burn markings were starting to appear on his left hand. He tried to lure them out by throwing fish bait but they were incredibly fast. Then it hit him. If he caught the bait in his hand the fishes would try to bite him again. He quickly dipped his fingers in the can of bait and embraced himself. The technique worked and he got one fish but his left hand suffered from the bites. He took the second fish to the strange looking old man.

“You did well boy, I wasn’t sure if you were up for the task but you did it. Now tell me about that question of yours.” As soon as Kiriya opened his mouth the vendor vanished without a trace.
