Yanagi Yusuke

”Haiiiii yaaaa!!! … owww!!”, almost shouted Yusuke as once again he was thrown onto the ground. Rare as it may have been, today Yusuke was training in the Coliseum. He had conveniently happened upon a senpai and had asked them to help him with his taijutsu. So far, Yusuke was getting his posterior handed to him. As he had been training for about half an hour now, his face was swollen and he had taken a bit of a beating enough to have some bruises all over. ”You should take a breather before you start again”, advised the senior concerned with Yusuke’s well being. ”Yes, I’m going to take a few moments” said Yusuke, as he sat up on the ground. ”But I’ll have to go, I’ve got some mission reports to submit. Good luck with your training though”, said the senior as he waved and went off on his way. Yusuke only replied with a nod as he saw the senior depart.

His body was slightly aching all over but he was focused and motivated. Why was the Yusuke who was almost always found in the library so focused on training? Well, he had realized that in his current state he wasn’t capable of much. If he wanted to help out people and if he wanted to contribute, he needed to be more capable as a shinobi. That’s what he was right? A shinobi. All the knowledge that he gathered and all that learning would amount to nothing if he just kept on learning. What could he achieve by simply learning? He needed to train himself physically as well. So when the need arose, he would be ready to do his part. Maybe not make a lot of difference but be capable of doing his part well enough. That would mean a lot to him, if he could manage it. Realizing that his skills in taijutsu were more lacking than ninjutsu; he was focused on taijutsu.

Currently wearing the standard weights on both his wrists and ankles, he was working on multiple things. Thanks to the sparring with senior, well it wasn’t actually sparring more like a beat down, he worked on his strength and his speed. However, now that the senior was gone he would have to resort to the basics again. Nothing wrong with that but just training his physical characteristics wouldn’t be of much use if he didn’t have the technique. He would either have to devise a taijutsu style and technique of his own or learn from a master of taijutsu. ”If only I could get some experienced taijutsu user to help me learn some techniques”, he thought to himself out loud as he stood back up. Training by himself was good but it wasn’t sufficient.

For a moment, Yusuke wondered about the squad he was assigned to and his sensei too. He realized that until now, he hadn’t even met his sensei. ”I wonder what kind of person he is. What cool jutsus he’s got and whether or not he can help me with taijutsu. I should probably meet him sometime”, he decided as he nodded to himself. Then reality hit him, he knew he was supposed to be part of a squad but he didn’t even know the other. He really needed to find his sensei to find out about the squad too. For now though, he would continue his training and so he did, by jogging around the coliseum.

The day was going as normal for Harichimo. He had a light morning of meeting with squad officials after making a large number of shifts with his squad roster. Karumo had given him an original squad but with most not reporting he had taken it upon himself to trim the fat and impose higher standards to his squad. And now after meeting the second member of his true squad he arranged a meeting to secure and hand pick a third member. The council had a perfect candidate in mind and put the file forward of another taijutsu user. Harichimo had felt pride in now having the full taijutsu squad just as he had been in. He had quickly flipped through the file while in the meeting and was intrigued by what he was looking at. A scattered clan with no special qualities to them, much like his own clan. Harichimo would be more than happy to sign off on the genin and welcome them to the squad. It would only take an hour or so before the council would give him the paper with the Tsuchikage's seal of approval and he would be off.

Harichimo would exit the administration building and take in a breath of the fresh air and walk out to the courtyard to take a seat on a bench nearby. He would take the newly signed paper and pull out a picture of the the genin's identification. After getting the image burned into his short term memory he would out the articles away into his Monolith robes. He was a little more excited then usual now that he would finally have a full squad and decided to take it upon himself to make a visit to the genin. He would make a hand seal in order to channel into the ANBU sensory technique for the first time. When activated he closed his eyes and his consciousness was taken for a ride along the network of ANBU who were also using the technique and he could soon see the whole village and everyone who inhabited it. He had to focus on the weaker signatures to hopefully net the genin he was after. Soon he thought he had gotten a hint of what he was after. A genin training with a senior shinobi at the Coliseum. Harichimo would dispel the technique and would start to jump and run along the roofs of the nearby buildings in order to cut some travel time out of the trip.

It would take a couple minutes at the pace he was taking and soon he was standing at the openings of the Colisuem. He would get there as soon as what he assumed to be the senior shinobi leaving. "Good day to you sir. Can I bother you to know if the genin you were training with is the one I am looking for?" Harcihimo would take the identification out to show the man. "Yep that would be him. Now I don't know what business a Monolith would have with that boy but take it easy on him would you? He seems to be going with a few bruises." "Oh it is nothing at all, just us of the higher ranks taking it upon ourselves to help everyone in the village. Thanks for letting me know." Harichimo would nod and wave to the man as he would enter the Coliseum.

Harichimo would soon find his way through the corridors of the Coliseum to soon reach the inner sanctum. He would look out to the empty seats and the floor of the arena as he remembered his time here with his sensei and learning the techniques that has become staple to his own fighting style. He would soon catch a glimpse of the genin he was after running laps. The boy must have be part way through his regime as Harichimo would make his way down the stairs until he would reach the front row. Once he reached the front row he would lean over the edge and yell out to the genin. "Excuse me, I am looking for a Yanagi Yusuke. Would you be chance know where I can find him?" He would make sure it was loud enough for the genin to hear at whatever point in the lap he was. As he waited for a response Harichimo would vault himself over the ledge and effortlessly drop down onto the arena floor to be on even ground with them.

The genin dressed in his casual attire, a green colored top and brown colored bottom had only begun jogging. His face was red and swollen, quite a few bruises covered his body but his intent to train remained undeterred. Barely progressing with his jogging, he heard someone calling out to him. Yusuke turned his gaze towards the source of the sound when he noticed the shinobi dressed in a white robe. The white robe, he knew what it meant: this certain individual was a Monolith. The Monolith: the symbol of Iwagakure’s physical prowess. The six individuals who had attained absolute strength when it came to Taijutsu. Yusuke had heard stories about them growing up in Iwagakure. They were like super stars in the village. Immediately stopping in his tracks, he waved towards the shinobi who had now descended onto the floor of the arena.

”That’s me, I’m Yanagi Yusuke!”, he shouted back as he waved and then began making his way towards the man dressed in white. ”Finally, I get to meet one of them up close, what an honor! And he knows my name! That’s something to boast about. But why does he know my name?”, Yusuke’s facial expressions could tell the entire tale in detail about his thoughts. The happiness of meeting a monolith, the honor he felt and then the confusion as to why did the monolith knew his name: all were clearly written on his face. Slowly jogging towards the shinobi, Yusuke made his way. It took him a minute since he was at a bit of a distance from the shinobi.

The grey haired, green eye colored genin stopped in front of the shining symbol of strength. ”I have to say, it truly is an honor seeing you up close”, said Yusuke fangirling over a monolith. He couldn’t pay much attention to the mysterious reason as to why he was sought out by a monolith. He was just too amazed at being able to meet a monolith. And then being able to talk to one and one who actually came around asking for him? What’re the odds? Yusuke was no exceptional shinobi. He wasn’t one to be sought out by important shinobi for help with some important missions. No, that would probably never happen. His skills were nowhere near that level. In the world of shinobi, Yusuke was just the average Joe. Then why would a Monolith came asking for him? Made little sense, at least no sense to Yusuke.

”So how may I be of service to you?”, inquired Yusuke as he stared, almost impolitely, at the Monolith. What was this guy even made of? If he spoke, would a rainbow come out of his mouth? Weird image but that was what was happening in Yusuke’s mind. To be fair, Yusuke loved learning about everything and he had heard the name Monoliths. However, what kind of shinobi were they, what kind of people they were; he just wanted to know that. Not just that, it was a widely known fact that the Monoliths were the best shinobi at taijutsu. So he wanted to see that taijutsu in action, at least once in his life time.

The genin answered right away and started to jog over as Harichimo was getting up from his landing. He looked over his new prospect who seemed to show some resemblance to himself in his own eyes. The surprise visit from a Monolith seemed to have been a light in his day. Almost as much as when he had learned the Tsuchikage was his sensei. Harichimo had come to see being a Monolith as nothing more then a fancy title that served very little in ANBU operations but some of his students had proved to him that Monoliths served a purpose as a role model to up and coming taijutsu users. They were beacons to show that Iwagakure was the benchmark village for taijutsu and very few outsiders could contest a well trained shinobi from the village. He was the embodiment that Harichimo would have looked up to if the titles weren't left empty for so long.

Yanagi would finally come to a stop in front of him and express the honor of the siuation. Harichimo was still not used to being the one to run rough shot and would just give a chuckle and a nod before returning the pleasantries. "No the honor is all mine." Harichimo would answer is as sincere a tone he could manage. The gravity of the situation now coming to him. The chance of having his third student and being responsible for the growth of these fine shinobi. The same feeling Akira-sensei might have had when Harichimo finally completed the squad. The genin would speak and question his motives for coming and seeking him out. A fair question for someone who had thei work out session disturbed by a random higher ranking member.

Harichimo would first clear his throat before he spoke and look back to the genin. He had to appear somewhat formal in fron tof his last student. "Well first allow me to introduce myself. The name is Harichimo Kazako, the second Monolith. I am not here for any official business or super secret mission. But rather I am here for your own good." Harichimo would open up the robe and reach inside to pull out the official document. A fine envelop with the wax seal of the Tsuchikage. Harichimo would offer it to the boy so he could read it over for himself. "Now that I was able to free up some time, I went ahead and got this filled out formally and all that jazz. You are hear by part of squad three. But before we get carried away I want you to explain some things for me. First tell me about yourself and what you hope to accomplish as a functioning shinobi of Iwagakure." Harichimo was eager to hear what the new student would have to say. Harichimo had to gauge where the genin was starting from and where he was wanting to go in order to best figure out how to train him. He couldn't hope all of his students to be on the same level as each other and not expect failure if he would evaluate them all as such. He wanted to make sure all of his fine students would be given the best shot to succeed and become fine shinobi in the ranks.

Hearing the casual reply from the Monolith, the slight feeling of nervousness in Yusuke completely disappeared. He immediately deducted that this shinobi in front of him was not someone who would boast about his skills and position. This shinobi in front of him was probably one of those kind shinobi who had wicked skill and serious strength and were filled with compassion. Did Yusuke have any concrete data to deduce such dramatic opinions? No, but he felt like it. And gut feelings are almost as good as concrete data. Aren’t they? Regardless of whether they were logically or not, at the moment, they sure were for Yusuke. As the Monolith cleared his throat, Yusuke prepared himself for some formal announcement.

Finally, Yusuke had a name to put to the face. And, as Yusuke had almost suspected; it was immediately clarified that this was no formal meet up; nor was this a prelude to some top secret mission. Slightly disappointing but considering Yusuke strength, skill and rank: fair enough. Then it was finally revealed, Yusuke was part of a squad. ”Awesome! So it’s formal. Now I’ll probably find out about my sensei and squad mates and get to meet them too. And I could probably go to cool missions, learn a lot of stuff and learn from sensei; maybe train with sensei. Oh the good times, they’re so close!”, Yusuke almost drifted away but the question that followed brought him back. His face could almost spill his happiness all over the arena’s floor when he was informed about the squad. However, his expressions changed when he was instructed to explain something. Those serious expressions changed a bit gloomy when he was asked about aspirations.

”Tell you about myself? I don’t know about myself, how can I tell you about myself?”, he almost frowned. Yusuke’s past was one that he didn’t remember. He only remembered his life in Iwagakure and that began when he was ten years old. His life before that was nothing but a blank past, a past he had no recollection of. Who was he really? Did he really belong to Iwagakure? Which clan did he come from? Who were his parents? Did he have any siblings? Did he have any relatives? What was his real name? He had no idea. ”About me.. I grew up in an orphanage here Harichimo-san”, replied Yusuke with a gentle smile. He had spent his life fighting those questions. Even though he wasn’t strong but he had become strong enough to fight off the sorrow of not knowing anything about himself. He had cultivated enough strength to smile whenever he felt those emotions.

Then came the second part of the question, what did he hope to accomplish. Yusuke had no dramatic aspirations or goals. He had never thought of things like that. He was a simple shinobi, with simpler less complicated goals. ”To learn everything that the world has to offer”, he said pausing a bit as he looked at Harichimo; then he continued. ”So that whenever I’m needed, I can be of use to those who need me. So that I can repay my debt that I owe to the kind people of Iwagakure”, he concluded gently nodding his head to himself. It sounded better than he had imagined but that was his opinion. What really mattered was the opinion of Harichimo Kazako.

Harichimo held the smile on his face as he let his student explain. An orphan with no knowledge of his origin or clan. But from Harichimo's own personal experience, the origin of oneself only establishes the base of which his sensei and Harichimo himself could build from. Many of the great shinobi have come from little to nothing and Harichimo had hopes to build up his new student. His student would continue on with the goals he had set for himself. He was a man of knowledge much like Harichimo had been in his younger days. The thirst to learn more about taijutsu and the world around him. After his student was done explaining, Harichimo would nod knowing exactly how he had felt.

Harichimo would step back over to a bench along the wall and undid the Monolith robes. He would fold up the garment and set it on the bench before turning back to his student. "Just so we are on the same level. Now that I know you have the want and drive to succeed as a shinobi of the village. Then we can start the journey that will cement your way into the shinobi world. I was taught under the previous Tsuchikage, Lord Akira Kazako. Number one student of his premier all taijutsu squad. And I was once like you, the Kazako clan is nothing special when you compare it to the laval wielding Kanetsu or the powerful dojustsu clan which the current Tsuxhikage hails from, the Fantomusado. But let me be a show of perseverence and take it to heart when I saw there are no barriers that limit the potential and goals that you place for yourself. Now follow me to the center of the Coliseum where those dummies are placed."

Harichimo would walk past his student as he invited them to follow. He would lead them to the group of five dummies scattered in a standard fighting formation that would be seen in the field. Harichimo would place a hand on the shoulder of one of the dummies and turn back to his student. "Now I want to see what you know so far and what kind of knowledge you have. Use taijutsu or whatever you are more comfortable with and give me a taste of what you are working with. Don't be discouraged by simplicity and don't think you have to be fancy. I just want to see the power you have." Harichimo had seen what his other students were capable of. One with the strength of a bear and the other holding the  deadliness of a winter breeze. What could the newest member of his squad have to offer.

Besides the fact that he had met a monolith and had just found out that he was actually the student of this monolith, Yusuke realized that he was just about to be trained by a monolith. It was the moment when Harichimo, took off his majestic white monolith robes to place them on the bench. Yusuke could barely contain himself from fangirling all over the place. If he could, he would’ve shouted and laughed maniacally over the joy that had overcome him. Obviously he couldn’t do so in the given situation. Maybe when he was all alone and in his apartment, he would probably do all of that. However, right now, he was faced with a quite serious and gruesome situation; a grave one actually. His sensei, had just asked him to show what he had got. No fanciness was asked but, he was asked to show his strength.

”My strength?! I don’t know what I’m good at, I’m not sure if I can use good enough taijutsu and I’m not strong either. What if I use ninjutsu? But.. I don’t have any powerful jutsus either.. argh!!! What am I gonna do, what am I gonna do!!!”, internally he was panicking but he maintained a smile on his face while that happened. He nodded as Harichimo sensei finished his instructions and revealed some information about the kage and a former tsuchikage: Akira Kazako. A legend really, the man who was the sensei of the current tsuchikage and the sensei of Yusuke’s sensei. Yusuke had read about him and wanted to become the pupil of the legend. Maybe someday, he would do so but right now he was about to be tested by his sensei. This was the opportunity of a lifetime and he had no idea what he was going to do. He just couldn’t let it go to waste.

”Wow Harichimo sensei, you’re so amazing. No wonder you’re a monolith, the student of Akira Kazako. I can’t wait to learn sensei”, remarked Yusuke as he was led by Harichimo towards the figures standing in the middle of the arena. Besides the academy jutsu, Yusuke didn’t have many jutsus in his arsenal, he actually only had five more. What could he really do with those jutsu? Create a mist and get lost? Convenient. Make bubbles and use them to distract sensei? Why? Or use the water trumpet jutsu at the dummy? Maybe if the dummy needed cleaning. Considering the use of his current jutsus, Yusuke concluded the best way to go about it would be through basic taijutsu. He was learning from a taijutsu after all so why not just do some basic taijutsu; but wait, that wouldn’t be good enough. Right? What to do?!

Finally, Yusuke decided if he was going to impress his sensei, it would have to be the one and only C-rank jutsu he knew. It might leave a little mark on the arena’s floor but for a genin, it was a strong jutsu. So, to impress his sensei, he decided to mix up things and take down all five dummies in one big swoop. Finalizing his strategy, Yusuke took a deep breath and then made the hand signs for the Ninja art: Tile shuriken jutsu. Focusing his chakra, he used the jutsu as a few rocks surrounding two dummies levitated, sharpened and then were launched taking down the dummies instantly. Then Yusuke threw his kunai and three shuriken around a dummy, all of which missed the dummy but Yusuke had generated strings and attached them with all four of these projectiles. After throwing the projectiles, Yusuke wasn’t stationary but instead circling around the dummy. Yusuke wasn’t the strength type but his speed and reaction time were good. So he used his speed and the academy jutsu to generate strings and manipulated the trajectory of all four projectiles in a way that they circled back to the dummy and all four projectiles landed on the dummy. With the kunai, finally landing and piercing the head of the dummy, right between the eyes too.

Having dealt with that dummy and with 3 dummies out of the way, Yusuke made the hand signs for his strongest jutsu: Water Release: Rising Slice. Completing the hand signs he generated a stream of water which propagated at a 25 m/s speed and went straight for the two dummies. The stream piercing the ground as it moved, influenced by Yusuke’s chakra, leaving behind a meter deep cut in the ground. The stream went straight for one dummy, cutting through it and then Yusuke steered it towards the second dummy cutting it in half. Out of breath and quite sweaty due to the exertion of chakra, Yusuke came to a halt in front of his sensei. He had attacked the dummy that his sensei was leaning against at the very end, basically because he had no idea what to do to that one.

”I’m not sure if this is good enough but this is the best I can do”, said Yusuke as he breathed heavily.

Harichimo stepped back to watch the genin at work. He watched as the genin showed a mastery of the tile shuriken technique. A singe assault from stones to take out a single target. Then the second dummy being swung at by a fan of weapons that missed but masterfully brought back with chakra strings. Deception was a strong tool to have in one's arsenal. Then to bring the demonstration home, he showed an affinity for Suition with the release of a water jet technique. The boy seemed to show more of a reliance on ninjutsu or just wasn't as comfortable with his taijutsu skills yet. The boy had exhausted a fair bit to show off what he was capable of and Harichimo couldn't help but smile at the prospect that stood before him.

Harichimo would extend out his hand and emit a soft green glow of medical chakra. "Here just take a hold and let the chakra do it's job to restore some of your strength. I can see that you like to take a more tactful approach to situations and that is a huge plus to the squad. While having the strength to go head on and fist fight any challenge that comes before you is an ok strategy. Having the brains to try and deceive or seek out weaknesses can tip unfavorable match ups." Harichimo would let the genin heal as much as he needed before turning off the technique.

Harcihimo would continue to smile as he would continue talking to his new student. "Now as we enter this new chapter we will need to agree to some things. As you continue to train I will be responsible for helping you reach these new levels of power and making sure you are on track for growing as a shinobi of the village. And now that Squad Three is now a full fledged squad I will be holding you and your squad mates to the standards that I was when I was a genin. If you need to get a hold of me for any reason, even if to come chat you can usually find me at my family's clinic just on the eastern side of the village."

Harichimo would turn around and walk back to the bench to grab his robe. He would out the robe back on and turn back to his student with a look of determination. "So what do you say Yanagi Yusuke? Will you accept the offer and become a member of the soon to be premier squad three of Iwagakure?" He would wait for his student to answer and as soon as Yanagi would finish a bell would ring. Harichimo knew the tone of the bell. The bell hung in the courtyard of the clinic and was a means to call Kazako's back to the clinic when they were needed. He was gone a bit longer then he had guessed but it was worth the extra time to meet his new student. "Well it seems our little celebration will have to be cut a bit short. It was nice to meet you Yanagi. Keep up the training and in a couple days time I will be calling together the squad so you can meet with the other two knuckleheads. For now I must return to the clinic and see what they need help with."

Harichimo would nod to his new student and take off to leap up the arena wall and start to make his exit out of the Coliseum. There would soon be time for training and missions after Harichimo could clear time away from the clinic and the needs of the elders. But for now he would have to do as he was asked until he time would become adequate.

Noticing the smile on his sensei’s face, Yusuke deducted that he had done good. As Harichimo sensei graciously offered a “helping hand”, Yusuke took it right away. Thanks to his sparring earlier, he was already bruised and this fair bit of exhaustion was actually quite tiresome. Yusuke held the monalith’s hand as he praised Yusuke’s intelligence. In an attempt to desperately impress his sensei, Yusuke had made an impression that he the strategic and cunning type of fighter. In terms of strategy, Yusuke was to blame for being hurled at a tree to fetch a cat. That had happened once in the past. However, when it came to fighting and brawling, the deduction of the experienced shinobi was completely on point. Yusuke knew that he wasn’t a strong kind of fighter. So he knew that he had to be quick on his feet and with his thought process. Only then could he make up for his lack of strength.

Yusuke nodded as Harichimo sensei explained about the squad. Now that he was part of the squad, he would have to follow the rules and have to try his best to fulfill the expectations of his comrades and his sensei. That is how squads worked and that was the instruction of his teacher. To make sure that his sensei wouldn’t be disappointed, Yusuke memorized these words. These words would act as a beacon of light, the light that would guide in rough times and against difficulties. ”You’re a medic too sensei. You’re really amazing, Harichimo-sensei”, commented Yusuke. Being a capable enough shinobi to be bestowed the title of monolith was already an accomplishment. However, Yusuke’s sensei was even more amazing since he was a doctor too with his own clinic.

Yusuke would let go of his sensei’s hand before the experienced shinobi would turn to head for his robe. The distinguished white robes that were the symbol of strength and accomplishment. Yusuke felt revitalized, his bruises didn’t hurt much anymore and he felt his strength returned to him. Within a few minutes, his sensei had helped him recover enough to continue with his training. When asked whether Yusuke was going to be part of the squad, he almost yelled a “hell-yes” but deciding it would be inappropriate went with: ”It’ll be an honor, Harichimo-sensei”. Their conversation would be interrupted with the sound of a bell in the distance. The bell signaled the time for Yusuke’s sensei to depart.

Yusuke nodded in compliance to the instructions of his sensei and then bowed bidding farewell to the departing monolith. It had been a very exciting meeting for Yusuke. He had been asked to show what he was capable of and he had tried his best. Apparently, his best had been good enough for his sensei to acknowledge him. And now, Yusuke knew that he was part of squad three; with Harichimo sensei as the squad leader. Yusuke didn’t know what the future would hold but considering his squad and his sensei, he was excited to experience it.

Right after his sensei left, Yusuke decided to do exactly what he had just been instructed to do: continue training. However, before he could do so, he heard a certain plea that compelled him to do something before he could continue training. The plea was of his stomach in the form of a growl. He had been training for a little while so it was about time he ate something. Even though his strength had been revitalized by his sensei, an empty stomach’s matter had remained unattended. So after Harichimo sensei departed, Yusuke left the Coliseum as well. He went to the nearby Iwagakure Bazaar and found himself something good and nutritious to eat. He had every intention of continuing his training right after so that meant eating good and eating healthy.

After taking his time with the food and some refreshing drinks, Yusuke was back in the Coliseum. As the demonstration he had given his sensei, had resulted in the ‘destruction’ of the dummies. Yusuke concluded that it was his duty to replace the ones he had destroyed. So he grabbed a mop and began cleaning the mess that he had made. Of course, he couldn’t do anything about the long meter deep cut in the ground but at least he could clean up the dummies. After cleaning them up, Yusuke fetched the new ones from the place they were always stashed at and put them in the position they had been before. ”Well that took longer than expected but finally, it’s over. Now I can continue my training”, thought Yusuke as he put the mop back to its designated place.

While Yusuke pondered over how to begin his training once more, a senior appeared in the Coliseum. From the attire of the senior, Yusuke deducted that he had just arrived in the Coliseum to train. Deciding that it would be best and more beneficial to train with the senior, Yusuke ran over to him. ”Hello senpai, may I ask you a favor?”, said Yusuke formally greeting the senior. ”You wanna train with me, right?”, said the senior with a smirk. Well, it was kind of obvious, both of them were in a place dedicated to training. So when one shinobi approached the other, it normally meant that they wanted to train together. Yusuke simply nodded in reply, ”Alright, let’s do it then. A friendly spar?”, inquired the senior about the method of the training. ”Whatever you say senpai”, replied Yusuke. ”In that case, I say defend yourself!”, said the senior as he rushed towards Yusuke.

Caught by surprise, Yusuke only managed to cross his arms to block the incoming kick. The senior shinobi charged towards Yusuke with a straight kick aimed for Yusuke torso. Blocking the kick Yusuke was pushed back a meter. The kick did bruise his arms, despite his attempt at blocking. Then the senior shinobi, charged towards Yusuke with a flying super punch aimed at him. Not even getting a minute to breath, Yusuke only managed to step aside as the punch hit his shoulder instead of his face; which was the original target.
The barrage of continuous attacks from the senior would continue as Yusuke would barely dodge and take a bunch of hits from the senior. This was how Yusuke was training before his sensei had arrived and coincidentally, he was back at it again. Sparring was not the greatest of experiences for Yusuke; however, they did offer a lot of opportunity to learn. Via sparring, he could learn from his experienced seniors and devise strategies to aid him in his fights when needed. Sure, learning in such a manner did leave bruised quite a bit but who ever said acquiring such knowledge would be painless?

In mere moments, Yusuke was on his back with the senior standing in victory. Obviously, Yusuke had far more things to learn.
