Clan History:  The Zetsumei clan has long since produced Medical Ninjas from their family long before the clan rose up in ability. While some were famous for their abilities most of the clan have been the medical ninjas of kumo. To increase their abilities to further aid their clan with surgeries and other medical needs the clan began studying and experimenting on the human body. Soon their regenerative skills were master class excelling in ability and better then most. Yet a odd thing happened to those medical ninjas, they could see exactly where to focus their chakra to fully heal someone better and faster. Almost shut out in a trance during this practice their patients noticed and questioned with concern the strange eye coloring that happened during healing. Through their many years of study in the fields of medicine and anatomy, the they seem to have developed a condition where using restoration jutsu on a patient started to darken their vision and brighten up parts they realized from their studies that could be disabling or fatal. They could see the arteries flowing with the blood moving away from the heart, and the veins returning it. They could see the tendons and ligaments which controlled most of the limb's functions, tightening and relaxing. Confused of this occurrence, the clan got together to study this for themselves. Surprised of this new condition they have gained, their medical abilities and their treatments quality grew. Yet combat ninjas came from the clan as well with the use of this medical eye as well and two factions arose in the clan, ones who believed the Zetsumei clan could become a much stronger clan and fight to protect their village between the ones who felt this just justifies why the clan must stay medical ninja even more. While the combat faction was to most likely the faction that would win the fight, it was the medical side that won but with a price. They grew a dark name for themselves with the medical ninjutsu they had once used for healing turned into deadly jutsu. Some had seen some of these jutsus used against family and in horror aptly named their most deadliest jutsu. Bloody Nightmare. A quarter of the family was exploded like balloons of blood as the medical faction, tired of the fighting and attacks on their young medical ninja and on the clan leader himself, focused their experimental jutsu to increase blood flow on each of the rebels. The more eyes on the hearts of the rebels increased the flow to extreme levels, inflating and exploding them in a matter of seconds. For a long time after that, the clan went into hiding. They still did their duty as shinobi yet they were rarely seen around the village and people started to forget about the clan to where only rumors of the clan existed.

Nine years ago. It's been about fifty-three years since the event which even in the clan was referred to as Bloody Nightmare. Not many people know of the clan known as Zetsumei, only those who work with some of them or people who remember the clan's darkest hour. Finally the clan is starting to open up as the clan, after spending these years teaching the young clan members what the clan knew in jutsu, began to send out it's young ones to the academy so that they may train and become more social and make the clan known as it was before the split in the family. Careful of inbreeding, they have only barely escaped having to keep it only in the family for marriages. They knew to some extent what it would do for their clan if new blood wasn't added into it, so after the elders felt they might go extinct with this hiding if it's held longer by these self-restrictions finally caved to what the rest of the clan has wanted for a long time. The elders let opened their gates and told the clan one last thing before their time hiding was over. Get out there and bring back our clan into grace.

Kekkei Genkai Name: 目術・血の目, Dōjutsu: Chi-no-Me.
Kekkei Genkai Description: Unlike most Dōjutsu, the Bloody Eye has no telltale sign of use, save for a concentration of chakra in the eye, visible to other Dōjutsu. When in use, their vision fades to a dim silhouette while using this Ocular Technique. Due to its nature as a non-chakra-sensory Dōjutsu, it is one of the few that the Hidden Mist or similar techniques have no chance of fooling. Because it detects physical bodily structures instead of byproducts like heat or electricity, and the fact that one cannot just erase these, Stealth techniques cannot hide one from the Bloody Eyes, save for if they are somehow designed to do so. The Hōzuki and Jūgo Kekkei Genkai, or other abilities that allow one to change one's bodily structures, are the most likely to be able to fool the Chi-no-Me, with the Hydrification Technique specifically being able to completely nullify this Dōjutsu's ability to see anything about the user.



Chi-no-Me: C-rank
-5 chakra every other post

Able to be trained at D-rank, the caster can see the most major blood vessels such as the aorta, femoral vein, carotid artery, and hepatic portal vein, pinpointing their location on a person they look at and learning their general condition. They can see major connective tissue, such as the Achilles tendon, anterior cruciate ligament, and the glenohumeral and biceps ligaments.

  • Their non-jutsu medical treatment can stanch bleeding of up to C-rank severity, provided they have the right supplies on-hand. Their jutsu that treat areas rather than heal the whole body area can stop bleeding (but not heal wounds) of up to A-rank. This is granted by simply having the ability to use the Chi-no-Me at this rank and having used it before, but does not require it being active.
  • Chi-no-Me can detect living beings out to 75 meters within one's field of vision.
  • The Zetsumei gains a form of imaging-vision, able to see through a total thickness of nonliving solid objects up to 4 inches.


Chi-no-Me: B-rank
-5 chakra per post

After they train this starting at C-rank, the Zetsumei can now see smaller veins and arteries, though not down to the size of capillaries, as well as the heart. They also begin to see the skeletal structure as well as minor connective tissue. It is at this rank of use that a Zetsumei can 'toggle' the darkening of their field of vision in order to see things that are inorganic.

  • The ability to monitor the status of the skeleton, connective tissue, and all blood vessels makes for a more likely transplant success. Transplant and surgery success pertaining to limbs is 100%.
  • Basic medical treatment with at least C-rank equipment can stanch bleeding of up to B-rank severity, and all jutsu that heal wounds used by them can stop bleeding of up to A-rank. This is granted by simply having the ability to use the Chi-no-Me at this rank and having used it before, but does not require it being active.
  • Chi-no-Me can detect living beings out to 200 meters within one's field of vision.
  • The Zetsumei's imaging-vision improves, able to see through a total thickness of nonliving solid objects up to 1 foot.
  • The Chi-no-Me, due to being able to see the skeletal and connective structures, gains very basic movement-prediction capabilities in relation to a person's four limbs.


Chi-no-Me: A-rank
-10 chakra per post

Once trained starting at a ninja rank of B, the Zetsumei can detect the muscular system, and can 'zoom' past certain systems at the slightest whim, removing them from their vision so as to focus on other parts of the body.

  • Barring extenuating circumstances, all muscular, skeletal, or cardiovascular surgeries are performed at a 100% success rate, and have their WC reduced to 2250.
  • Basic medical treatment with at least C-rank equipment can stanch bleeding of up to A-rank severity, and all jutsu that heal wounds used by them can stop bleeding of up to S-rank. This is granted by simply having the ability to use the Chi-no-Me at this rank and having used it before, but does not require it being active.
  • Chi-no-Me can detect living beings out to 400 meters within one's field of vision.
  • The Chi-no-Me's movement-prediction capabilities are extended to the finer extremities and areas of the body.
  • Due to the ability to see the muscular system, the Zetsumei gains greatly improved movement-tracking capabilities for humans and animals. While it is not projected as a 'silhouette' of where they will be, the certain twitches and constrictions of muscles and connective tissue cannot lie, and cannot be feinted without hindering one's own movement.
  • The Zetsumei's imaging-vision improves, able to see through a total thickness of nonliving solid objects up to 1 meter.


Chi-no-Me: S-rank
-15 chakra per post

An A-rank Zetsumei, after training this rank, can detect all organ systems in the body.

  • Basic medical treatment with at least C-rank equipment, or jutsu used by them of at least B-rank can stanch any level of bleeding, even if they do not fully heal the wound otherwise. This is granted by simply having the ability to use the Chi-no-Me at this rank and having used it before, but does not require it being active.
  • Chi-no-Me can detect living beings out to 100 meters within one's field of vision.
  • Their completely thorough knowledge of the body, and ability to constantly monitor it, reduces the necessity of some procedures that are otherwise considered crucial by less apt medics. Any and all transplants or surgeries performed by them, or under their supervision, have their WC halved to 1500.
  • Due to being able to see the nervous system, the Zetsumei gains a +2 in Reaction Time in regards to the actions of an opponent they can see using their Chi-no-Me; they can detect the nerve impulses in a sort of slow-motion and where they are traveling.
  • The Zetsumei's imaging-vision improves, able to see through a total thickness of nonliving solid objects up to 3 meters.





Chi-no-Me grants its bearer the unique and dangerous ability to use remote Medical Ninjutsu directly upon the internal organs and body systems of those they gaze upon, resulting in otherwise inexplicable injuries, as chakra-sensory methods of equal or lower rank to the Dōjutsu (not the Medical jutsu used) are completely unable to detect it. The Zetsumei may only create jutsu to control what they may currently see with their Chi-no-Me. While these are normally potent, their main drawback is that interposing solid objects which they cannot see through (such as lead, or a sufficiently thick object) halts and dispels the effects of the jutsu, though it does not reverse already-inflicted damage.
These abilities have the universal drawback of progressing the number of posts Chi-no-Me is considered to have been active, for the purposes of strain and cooldown.


Drawbacks: Due to their dedication to their specialties, especially Medical Ninjutsu, the Zetsumei tend to put their elemental training on the wayside. They must take the "Hesitant (Element)" negative SC without balancing it.

The Chi-no-Me requires training to use, and is advanced in the same manner. The Bloody Eye can be gained only at one rank higher than one's own ninja rank. It takes 1500 words of cumulative training for each level of the Chi-no-Me; thus, C-rank is 1500 words, B-rank is 3000, and so on. Each rank of training also requires 500 Ryo.

On the second post of invoking Chi-no-Me (+1 post for every rank above B the wielder is), their vision begins to blur, giving them -2 to their visual Perception regardless of whether they deactivate their Dōjutsu during this post. On the next post of use after their strain begins, they start experiencing headaches, reducing their Reaction Time by 1 tier. For each additional post the Chi-no-Me is maintained past these strain thresholds, their RT and visual Perception decrease by an additional tier.

Chi-no-Me has a cooldown of half the number of posts it was used (rounded up, minimum 1), which comes into play starting the post after it is deactivated. If the Dōjutsu was strained, the cooldown is instead a number of posts equal to its use (minimum 2). In addition, during a strain-cooldown, all RT and Perception stat decreases persist, but are doubled during this time.

The Bloody Eye is a technique that was refined through training and precision. A stolen eye, as such, is subject to the same. A Chi-no-Me that is stolen from a Zetsumei must be trained as above to be used at the rank it is currently at. (The rank of the Dōjutsu may not be increased this way.) In addition, the threshold for eye-strain is 1 post lower than an actual Zetsumei.
