ANBU mission Savage syndrome:

The news had been gradually spreading through the village and even through the many little towns outside the hidden village of the leaf: someone had been brutally murdering travelers and merchants and lately, there were even reports of murdered shinobi. The situation was dire, graduating in an A rank classed mission issued by the Central Intelligence Division for the ANBU. However, when the two teams instructed to bring in this murderer had vanished without a trace, the alarm bells were sounding loudly. This situation had now escalated into an S-rank mission, no longer something the common shinobi's should be trying to tackle and a problem which could only be dealt with by using Konoha's most elite forces.

The files with the victims, the crimescenes and the clues to who or what this murderer was were spread out in front of Lamya, every picture, every line of typed words visible to her, as she sat on her chair, he hands in her hair and her eyes fixated on the numerous names that were listed as 'identified victims'.

This was the first time in her career as ANBU captain, that she was confronted with such a brutal case. It was also the first time in that very same career, that she was forced to take this matter to the Hokage and boy did she look up against doing something like that.

Grabbing all the files and neatly placing all of them in the correct maps, lamya put her mask on, sheathed her scalpels and made sure that her hair was bound.

While walking out of her office, she could see, nay feel the eyes of her subordinates and her colleagues burn upon herself. They were all wondering what she was going to do, certainly now that the news had come that the leader of squad Boar had been found...or rather what was left of him. She knew very well that the only way to make sure that the entire ANBU force would remain under her control, was to eliminate this problem as quickly as she possibly could.

Adamant in her decision not to take her pet snake Uraeus with her, Lamya left the ANBU headquarters and hastily made her way to the administration building. Rather than going through the back, or by getting through the window, Lamya went through the front doors, immediately being held up by two rather aspiring assistants, who almost fearlessly and actually quite rudely blocked her in her path towards the Hokage's office.

"We can't let you pass beyond this point without indentificating yourself," The two said with an air of authority, which Lamya only realized to be in those two shinobi's voices, when she took a closer look at their uniforms, with the historical and in her opinion redundant emblem of the Konoha Military Police Force on their shoulders. "The ANBU captain tried to ignore them and take a step into the direction she wanted to go, but yet again the two pesky shinobi barred her way. "Identification is mandatory, you dont have to think you are above the law...eh"

The ground cracked, while a sinister purple and black aura of chakra surrounded the ANBU captain, which made the two apprehensive shinobi back away with a step or two, their skin suddenly sweaty and their hands trembling.

"I AM the law," Lamya hissed with a deep and imposing tone, which was only made even more sinister by her mask's ability to enhance her voice's authority. "Now get out of my way, you pesky insects."

As the two moved aside, the Orochi lady made her way to the Hokage's office, knocked on the door and in stead of waiting for a reply, she entered the office a single instant later, obciously having that same nasty habit of doing so as her Uncle did.

"Milord Hokage, I bring urgent news," She said, while making a bow and this time...she did await a reply.

All was calm and serene in the presence of the Senju. The sun shone through the window panes behind him as the sunlights glare bounced off the white pages the resided upon his desk, waiting for ink to be etched onto the parchments attached. His assistant sat by his side, proof reading a stack of paper she had taken from the desk also. The silent scan of their eyes almost synced as they made their way across each line of words that followed in succession one after another. Clearing his throat and sipping on tea provided seemed to be the only sounds that echoed throughout the office. Finishing his signature on the current amendment he was addressing, Sousetsu retrieved another and began the process from the beginning once more.

Sousetsu's ears twitched at the sound of commotion outside his office. A familiar voice ceased the scribbles of his pen on the paper before him, laying on the desk next to a bundle of stacks in neat order. With his eyes now closed he tuned his ears to the sounds that echoed back and fourth on the other side of door. It seemed that the trouble brewed from the new security that he stationed at his quarters. The Konaha Military Police Force, now underway under direct authority of the seventeenth Hokage, were still not treated with the respect they should deserve from their fellow brothers and sisters in arms. A tensed jaw was held as his head tilted to the side for further attention.

"I AM the law,"

His eyes opened accompanied by a stern appearance as the words were now clear to him. He stood up from behind his desk, allowing the chair to scrape along the wooden floor causing the screeching to emit during its process. His assistant darted her eyes to and fro the door and the Senju as she was unsure what her actions should have been. He looked at her with that same stoic presence he bore each day and nodded for her to stand in preparation for an unexpected visitor. The door was hastily opened before the ANBU Captain, codename: 'Lamya,' entered with another familiar mannerism that he was accustom to. His eyes shifted to hers before he raised his head in slight thought of presence.

"Milord Hokage, I bring urgent news," she spoke with a formal bow.

"You should know full well that an incident on the Police Force is the same as one directed to me personally. I trust that in the future, you will adhere to their words..." he scolded with a bellowing voice. The Senju then made his way around his desk to stand tall, opposite the head of the ANBU.

"It is not often the Captain of the ANBU requires my assistance. What troubles you?" he toned his voice to a different level of seriousness, rather hinted with concern. His arms crossed as he tilted his head once more, piercing her eyes with his own as he grew more curious to the pressing matter at hand.

The thought had never left him since the day he met her uncle within the holding cells at the undisclosed location of the vast majority of criminals. Orochi Enaka, just what had he done to her in the past? What possible experiment did he conduct onto one of his own? Her image and likeness glowed with her presence as she entered in a similar fashion to him, sparking this memory back to the front of his mind, waking a sleeping dragon with a blunt nudge for its attention. This was not about him at this current moment in time however, as far as he knew, but an operation must have been underway that required his approval or similar actions.

"You should know full well that an incident on the Police Force is the same as one directed to me personally. I trust that in the future, you will adhere to their words..." The Hokages voice almost boomed through the office, probably even audible outside of it. However, rather than straightening her self or cowering in fear, Lamya simply chuckled, though a quick turn of her head towards the assistant of the Hokage, looking at the poor woman with her golden snake like eyes glaring coldly. The assistant seemed to have understood what she had to do, as she quickly scurried out of the office, closing the door behind her.

The young ANBU captain standing straight in front of the easily a foot taller Hokage, calmly removed her designated ANBU mask, revealing her elegant face with her lips curling into an almost tauntingly sultry smile, before straightening her expression. "I am fully aware of your Police force and their desire to have authority, Lord Hokage. However, I do not see any relevance in their...less than admirable or respectful behavior towards those who's sole duty is the safety and prosperity of the village and not just bashing on some petty criminals' skulls."

Coughing slightly, Lamya lowered her head. It was as if she wanted to show an apologetic expression for her rather harsh-sounding words and opinion. However, she seemed to quickly recuperate, lifting her head up high, while almost pressing the map she had brought with her into Sousetsu's hands, while she took a step back, walked around the hokage and leaned against his desk.

"As for the urgency," The ANBU captain exclaimed, while pointing at the map, clearly trying to motivate the Hokage in opening it and reading it himself. "During Mitsuhide-sama's reign, the ANBU apparently counted more than twice the amount of members we have now, not to mention that the dissapearance of Mitsuo-dono hasn't helped us at all. Now it seems we've got a situation which could not be solved nor maintained by the regular ANBU members. The Central Intelligence Division hasn't given any advice in the matter, so now here I stand before you."

Waiting for a few minutes, giving the Hokage some time to read the files with the names of the current accounted victims, the still missing operatives and what seemed to be a rather vague description of the perpetrator of the vile acts that had been done. In the meantime, Lamya straightened her black armor, started fiddling with the three silver chains she had hanging from her right shoulder to her collar and straightened her unusual, spiked bracers.

"Two entire squads of ANBU operatives is our current loss, Milord," The Orochi lady quickly exclaimed, obviously annoyed by this fact, but in truth, she just wanted some action, some fun to actually let loose, rather than dealing with the same old boring tasks as usual. After all, it did not occur many times, that an ANBU captain would be allowed to use full force. "This person or whatever it is...has been placed at S-rank difficulty, meaning I am not certain that I would be able to engage this...thing myself. I do not want to imagine what would happen if I were to fail and this situation escalates even further. Who knows, it might get into the village and we both know...your Konoha Police Force might have the guts to stand up against me, but if they are unable to keep their act together after I show just a smidgen of my own power, one might only guess what would happen if they'd encounter something capable of erasing the existence of two entire ANBU squads."

His determined forest green eyes never left her golden snake eyes as she subtly edged his assistant to leave following her short chuckle. With her mask now removed her complexion reverted into a straight manner and collected manner. Her words continued with a small hint of disgrace and clear resentment towards the Police Force that Sousetsu had revived. A smirk etched his way across the Senju as it was now clear to him that even the Head of the ANBU had problems with the seventeenths rule. With a cough and a small bow of her head to ensure her apology was not unnoticed, a parchment made its way to the Senju's hands before she made her way to lean on his desk with a rather comfortable display of his his office.

"As for the urgency," she exclaimed as her hand left a gesture to the contents.

His head turned to a short glare before he returned his attention to the scroll at hand. Reading thoroughly, his expression grew more and more stern with each line, his teeth coming to a grind almost before he could remain tranquil and understand the task at hand. She spoke of Mitsuhide, the Hokage previous to his rule and how during his reign, the ANBU numbers almost doubled what they are now. That particular individual had a way with words, converting even Sousetsu to his side despite his defeat and different ideals for the village. He was the sword that Konaha would wield, while the Beast was the shield that the village needed.
His ears twitched at the familiar sound 'Mitsuo,' one of his closest friends within the Village Hidden in the Leaf, and his sudden disappearance also. They sparred together, honed their abilities with their weapons and sage form. Even Sousetsu's own sudden departure of the village, Mitsuo would not arrest him upon his return, rather praise him. Two valuable assets the Leaf Village could have offered in their times of need, all of a sudden vanished.

Sousetsu however, never seen a connection in their departures, only that their reign was short and untimely. As foretold, the Central Intelligence Division had nothing to offer also, leaving the current Hokage and Head of ANBU to tend to matters delicately for the time being. He scanned each detail thoroughly, including the connection with Orochi Enaka. His face did not falter however as another obstacle arose that he must overcome. His attention was caught once more as the sounds of chains enticed his eyes to look at their location. Three Chains...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The silver chains simply showed the potential of my officers, of those who served me within the Black ANBU. One chain represents those around spec jonin level to jonin level, two chains represents jonin to S rank level, three chains however...represents those who could match or even exceed the kages.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His eyes glanced back to the page. With a small inhale he turned his full attention to Lamya. It seems the two were more alike than he thought. An obvious trait of the Orochi was the colliding minds in search for a higher power, matching or even exceeding those with the title of 'Kage.' The apple did not fall far from the tree here. Many thoughts crawled in the back of his mind, scenarios filled with worst case scenarios, and an assumption to the future. A small sigh exhaled from the Senju followed by a small innocent smile. Two squads were the current loss towards this being at task, another reason for him to aid her cause as he was still a protector of the Leaf, he was not against any of their heritage. His name must continue to shine even in dark times.

A brief moment of silence filled the room as Sousetsu merely stared at the woman resting against his desk. Nothing more than a slight stern expression lingered on his face. It was almost as if he was daydreaming upon her appearance, uninterested in the situation. He approached her slowly before placing document on the desk beside her, and returned to the center of the room, looking directly at the door in order to head out.

"I should have taken the title of Fourteenth Hokage. All of this could have been avoided. Declining the position with a total of three times... Did you know that, Risu?" his head tilted to the side so that she could his cheek. A small chuckle of his own escaped before he faced ahead once again.

"I chose to revive the Police Force now, to retain order within the village. I hand-picked them because they are not as 'dark' as the ANBU. They are public servants that even a mere child can ask for assistance. Threatening them with a display of might, Risu, is that fear? They are not soldiers, or tools to be used in combat on the battlefield. They maintain law and order. Something you seem to have a problem with..." he spoke calmly, and collectively. He adjusted his coat and let his hand rest upon his hilts blade that lingered by his lower back, poking out from the cover of cloth. "According to the reports, It would seem that your uncle would be the reason why the two squads are no longer with us. He turned to face her once more, his eyes piercing into hers once more. He did not expect her to lose any form of her being, but to enlighten her of the current situation within the Village Hidden in the Leaves.

"You came here in need of my assistance. Now, you must ask yourself... Do you think they were afraid of a power similar to that of Orochi Enaka's? Or were they afraid that I might respond? They did step aside to avoid any escalations after all. Come. You need not answer. Sousetsu began walking towards the door, each footstep as heavy as the previous among the wooden floors as they would begin the mission to subdue a creature of Orochi Enaka.

"I should have taken the title of Fourteenth Hokage. All of this could have been avoided. Declining the position with a total of three times... Did you know that, Risu?" Hearing those words was indeed quite a shock to Lamya, who realized that he could've indeed avoided a lot by doing that or maybe become the center of all the pain and despair which had set upon Konoha ever since the passing of the thirteenth's passing. Avoid or be the cause thereof, a difficult choice, but none of them could be entirely sure if a change like that would've been better or worse for the land of Fire.

Nodding it off, the leader of the Ouroboros clan simply decided not to go deeper on that subject or to start an argument on wether or not it would've been something better, as such an argument given the current situation, would've been as pointless as giving a puppy dog a shuriken to play with.

Something you seem to have a problem with..."

These last words really were a verbal jab towards Lamya, a sign of the Hokage's distrust most likely. Sure, the ANBU captain was Enaka's niece, had a not so beautiful record regarding past actions and above that, she had obvious connections to the Black ANBU of her uncle, but on the other hand, she had not done anything wrong to Konoha, had maintained law and order already before Sousetsu had decided to literally trample on her duties with his newly reformed Konoha Military Police Force.

"I will admit that there is a certain darkness within the ANBU, I even fear I have almost succumbed to it myself. However, since our problem is indeed related to my uncle, I am probably the person who should take responsibility for this matter," The ANBU captain spoke with a rather bland tone of voice, showing that she wasn't entirely sure to how she had to look at the mess she had gotten herself in.

What the Hokage so rethorically asked her however shocked her quite a bit, making her ask herself and ponder over the question wether these Police Force members feared her power, that of her uncle or simply just feared any escalations coming from his side alone. It was a good question though, one that did not need an answer, for it seemed Sousetsu was quite certain they only feared him, but than again, the question she had formulated in her mind would've been the perfect answer: "Who did the Hokage fear himself?"

Deciding not to voice her opinion on the matter, Lamya simply put her mask on again and nodded in agreement when the Hokage decided to aid her and take action on his own, as he left the office with heavy steps on the wooden boards that made up the floor. However, when they would reach the outskirts of Konoha, he would've been reliant on the ANBU captain's knowledge on where the two squads had been sent to. It wasn't that far from the village, at the edges of the dense forests that surrounded Konoha, but as such, the danger was real, for these forests held more secrets and more horrors than even Enaka managed to cover or uncover if he would've dedicated his life to it.

"About one kilometer north, the remains of the first ANBU squad have been found, Hokage-sama," Lamya explained, stopping straight at the edge of the forest. "I must warn you...they were not even a slight semblance of a match, four special jonin, slaughtered or rather butchered like animals. That alone would make it correct to assume that it is somehow connected to my uncle's...work. However, I am fairly certain this 'thing' as I dare call it, is but a failed project, which would make one wonder...how dangerous the succesfull project would be ."

With the coat of the seventeenth Hokage fluttering against the winds course, the blue decal, as opposed to the traditional red, seemed to wave much like the ocean itself with its frantic movements. He turned his head to the side where he could find the Head of the ANBU who he now accompanied during the travels and gave a rather stern inspection. His thoughts wandered, just as deep and winding as the tree branches intertwined within the sea of trees they now passed. Although her mask covered her face, he would look deeper to her actions. A graceful leap to the next with such precise steps, a well composed shinobi that was no stranger to field.

"...I am probably the person who should take responsibility for this matter..."

Her words echoed the vast hallways of his memories. Her words were carefully chosen. Was this simply because of the title she carried? Having the forces of the ANBU operatives manipulated, experimented and even put to a swift and untimely death simply because of a blood relative? Did she allow this to pursue, or did she not have the power to cease it? The Senju faced before him once more as he allowed his thoughts to carry on before a sudden halt from his comrade allowed him to mimic her action. "About one kilometer north, the remains of the first ANBU squad have been found, Hokage-sama," she spoke as his arms crossed, thinking about the current situation and how to respond.

"I must warn you...they were not even a slight semblance of a match, four special jonin, slaughtered or rather butchered like animals. That alone would make it correct to assume that it is somehow connected to my uncle's...work. However, I am fairly certain this 'thing' as I dare call it, is but a failed project, which would make one wonder...how dangerous the successful project would be." A simple nod from Sousetsu expressed his opinion.

"Whether he is a danger to us or not, he is still a 'failed' experiment. Enaka found a flaw too great for this experiment to prove any use to him." He closed his eyes and attempted to hear any movement that may have encircled them during their briefing. Looking at Risu once again, inspecting nothing but a mask that resembled a mere animal, it was then that a possibility emerged from the depths of his mind. Nothing to be certain of but his determined eyes could not help but see a small piece fit together.

"The 'successful' project is still underway as this is only a recent report. Who is to even say that one such project exists at this moment? Either way, time is still something we have to be wary of." His ears twitched as a snapping twig some distance away sparked his attention before fading away. With his head now readjusting to the surroundings as he searched for a hint of a clue but found nothing of help.

"If the remains of the squad were that of a passionate violence, then we may find our target seeking its prey among others. The location of the second team will determine its direction. Beyond that, we must find any signs of civilization. I will follow your lead." he suggested with a rather level-headed, calm and collective approach. With a nod to confirm he sprang into his travels once more. As silent as the tree branches allowed him to pounce among them, he focused on every which direction he could for signs of scratches upon the bark of the trees, marks of destruction on the wildlife or rocks it provided, or disturbed earth.

"You should not feel responsible, Risu. This was your Uncle's doing, not yours. We decide which paths we take in the life of shinobi and kunoichi alike..." he reassured her in this situation. This mission required any doubts in one another to subside for the time being. Teamwork was essential when it came to a mission of this caliber and no doubt the power of the Hokage and Head of the ANBU would prove to be more than a challenge for the so-called 'failed' experiment.

"I'm afraid that what my uncle would deem a failed experiment, might not persay have an obvious weakness," Lamya muttered calmly, remembering the words she had heard Hataro say to her when she had been in that wretched puppeteer's captivity. "I'd say in that aspect, this 'thing' and I are on common grounds. After all, I know at least a few things my uncle has been experimenting on.

It was a sour joke, nothing more than that. A way to hide her disgust, but also to temper her inborn curiosity and her admiration for the work her uncle had done. Sure, Lamya did not agree with all his experiments, his machinations in politics or even his decimation of small villages and small clans just for the sake of his experiments. Only the gods knew how many lives had been lost in the wake of that man's hunger for power and unsatiable thirst for knowledge and how many more still were to come, for she remembered Kyohei's warning very well: He wasn't someone who would 'just' let himself get caught, there was always a reason for everything he did and everything he allowed to happen.

"If I recall, the other team was another kilometer to the west, they're last known location made it so that both teams were in close range from each other," The ANBU captain explained, while making haste through the forest again, hoping to reach the site where the other ANBU team had last given their location. They had not called in since two days ago, so she already mentally prepared for what she would see. "I'd say this 'thing' does not have a pattern. It seemingly works purely on instinct. A small merchant's camp nearby had been left without any victims, while approximately a hundred meters further, two travelling soldiers had been brutally killed. I think it simply acts on self-preservation...perceiving anything with arms as a threat to itself or perhaps its dominance in a certain territory."

When reaching the last known location of the second team, there weren't much clues to be found at first sight. However, the air was strange, a certain stench was dampening all other smells, a rusty, metallic smell which seemed to linger on the location where lamya had brought herself and the Hokage to.

"I know this smell, it's the smell of blood and in this case, lots of it," the young woman hissed, slightly annoyed by both the smell and the fact that it was only the smell, but not yet the origin of the odor. "There's a small lumberer's camp up ahead, if anything, they might just be there...that is if we're lucky."

Not waiting for the Hokage to give a sign, the young ANBU captain quickly made haste yet again, trying to make sure that her suspicions weren't wrong or rather that they WERE wrong, because she didn't want yet another team butchered like animals, not in a time where the Hokage doubted and distrusted the ANBU, if they would also get to be seen as incompetent, no doubt he'd be changing alot more things and she sure as hell didn't want him snooping into her accounts. Looking at him, while running towards the lumber camp, she realized that his expression showed a certain readiness, as if he had heard or seen something she had failed to notice. Perhaps he had already known what was up ahead, but for Lamya, it was probably the second time in her life that she felt all the blood in her veins pauze in terror. "This is..."

The lumberer's camp, a small open space in the forest where lumberers used to stay during the night, cleaning and cutting their wood, laugh and sing together with fellow men, sleeping in tents and drinking beer or sake, was now far from the jolly place it should've been. The stench of metal had been replaced by the foul odor of rotting and decaying flesh. A total of eight corpses could be counted on first sight. One large man, with an axe still firmly locked in his right hand laid down, disembowled on a pile of logs, another man seemed to have been turned into sushi within his own sleeping bag, while yet another man had three large gaping wounds on his back and was missing a leg. However, for Lamya, this wasn't even the worst, as she could count at least two of the missing squad's members being torn to shreds, while a third one had literally been thrusted upon a large log of wood, half the man's chest being ripped open by the sheer force.

It was the fourth member which made Lamya back down a few steps, hold her breath and try to be as silent as possible, as the fourth member of the second ANBU squad was barely visible and only recognizable thanks to the boots he was wearing, but besides his legs, the rest was hidden, covered by a small leather tent and a grating, gnawing and ripping sound came from inside that tent. If they were lucky, whatever was inside that tent, had not yet realized that there were now two new people in the lumberer's camp. Luck however, seemed not to be something Lamya had and apparenty, neither did Sousetsu, for the small tent shuddered for a second and everything went silent. Slowly, but certainly a masked face, with seemingly feathers adorning the mask and hiding its hair ruffling as the small red eyes of what appeared to be a young, humanoid thing looked straight towards Sousetsu and Lamya.

"Weapons...hostile...must eliminate all hostile..." The humanoid thing spoke, a rasping and gasping voice, barely audible and from the sound of it barely human. This was an experiment of Enaka, a being which most likely had once been human, but now had been degraded into nothing more than an animal with a penchant for killing and it seemed it had to kill again, as not a second after it had uttered those words, it jumped out of the tent and rushed towards the Hokage and the ANBU captain, it's weird, sword-like claws suddenly extending towards the two of them.

"Oh...sh..." She could not finish her sentence, feeling the bladelike claws dig inside her armor at her left shoulder, only glad that her armor withstood the attack, reducing the damage and the fact that her own quick reaction in the form of instantly using her clan's hardening snake scale jutsu made it so that she only had three puncture wounds of about half an inch in her left shoulder. Not deadly or debilitating, but sure as hell annoying. "Got any plans, Hokage-sama?"

"I know this smell, it's the smell of blood..."

Sousetsu inhaled through his nose slightly as the smell of iron began to fill the aroma around them. She was right. The smell of blood came hand in hand with the red stains upon a shinobi. His ears peaked again as his attention was drawn to yet another sound of crumbling earth, as if something sank into the soft soil beneath their feet. As the suns gaze continued to cast shadows of the surrounding forest around them, the presence near would soon show its own darkness.

"There's a small lumberer's camp up ahead, if anything, they might just be there...that is if we're lucky." she exclaimed. With no other lead, he had no option but to agree with a slight nod of his own. A hasty disappearance of the two created a vanishing act within the certain clearance they resided upon during their briefing. The tree leaves bristled off one another in a seemingly rhythmic fashion as each step onto a different branch created another in its stead. Before long, they arrived at what could only be described as barbaric. A massacre. A pool of red with remains to accompany it.

The stench of rust and iron clashed in his nostrils sending a sharp burning sensation in the Senju's sensitive nose. His eyes darted to each body part that lingered on its pedestal for the world to see. Logs carrying bodies and metal objects skewering those that remained in tact. It was one vision not meant for the weak stomach. His head slowly moved as he scanned the area, traces of ANBU operatives and their distinctive armour and symbols revealed but one body part, but who was to find the corresponding body? Further thoughts wandered into the Senju's mind. This experiment failed because it was unstable. Or was it too difficult to control? Or too violent to take a silent job that it was needed for? Maybe, it was to display its shear power after all..?

The sounds of rustling within cloth and plastic, metal and sheet erupted from a nearby tent. His eyes began to creep towards Lamya, wondering if she could confirm whether it was friend or foe also. Of course, the frantic tossing of the contents inside were more than enough to determine that. It appeared, they had found their target. A sudden halt was made from inside the shelter, only to reveal itself not moments later. A peculiar looking beast to say the least with its iron nails that dangled with sharp edges, and a face of feathers attached to a mask of some demeanor. The seventeenth Hokage simply glared as it watched its new-found prey walk into its current nest.

"Weapons...hostile...must eliminate all hostile..." A dark and deep alien like voice had spoken. Something the Senju was never familiar with despite his vast travels and knowledge of the world beyond the village hidden in the leaves.

A small swallow cleared his throat not seconds before the humanoid leaped from the shelter and began its advance on the two Leaf ninja. His eyes widened as the sword-like claws found their new destination. Unlike speed he had seen from another, Sousetsu's could almost relate to this beings. It was much like his own, difficult to keep track of and even harder to react to. His hand instinctively reached for the blade he wielded from many battles and sprung it before him, parrying the initial attack and keeping the arm at bay.

"Oh...sh..." a voice he knew hesitated beside him. With his attention caught towards Lamya, the strength of the creature before him pushed his blades deeper against his own, catching him off-guard for that brief moment, enough to scrape his cheek. With a small trickle of blood, and his attention now back to the being at bay, Sousetsu was asked a rather interesting question.

"Got any plans, Hokage-sama?" she spoke as his strength was attempting to match the opponents. With a nod he kicked the humanoids stomach to bounce off in order to clear some distance between them to further ready themselves for the battle ahead.

"The creature matches my speed as far as I can see. It's perception is uncanny however. Hiding from this will not be easy." his blade now tightly held in his palm as he stood tall, waiting for the inevitable to reveal itself once more.

"I propose you attempt to flank it while I draw it out. We will see how we will proceed from there. Do not let your guard down, Risu." he spoke with clarity as he began to walk towards the creature, standing his ground between it and the ANBU Captain. With a sudden flick of wrist, his blade was now for an offensive maneuver. The spring in his foot allowed his to match the speed of his new opponent as it had mirrored his actions. The claws bound to its hands shone and flashed a rather skillful display with such intent to kill. A shame that it was a danger to all who came into contact with it.

The first strike matched each others speed, the next their strength, however Sousetsu was not in a favourable position as he was  being pushed back with a struggling defence. With gritted teeth he bounced back once more as his blade seemed to have been parried from his grasp the crossing blades of the opponent. It appeared it was quite skillful in disarming its foes also, which would explain the ANBU losing to such a fierce being.

"Doton: Gōremu no Jutsu!" His hands clapped together instantly as his sword landed. A rather large humanoid of his own creation spewed from the earth, molding as if it was reverting back to its original self. Of course, this earth technique was only to aid in their cause as a defensive and supportive addition to their cell of two. It struck true, in the stead of the Hokage, further implicating on its task at hand before Sousetsu appeared by his sword and retrieved it, readying himself once more.

Feeling the stinging pain in her shoulder, Lamya could hardly notice what was going on, let alone make sure her full attention was on the 'thing' and the Hokage. In a way, this presented her with an interesting oportunity, letting the two of them duke it out, so she could finish both of them while they were tired and out of chakra, but on the other hand, she would not be able to live with such a backhanded idea. For now, her role was to protect the Hokage, not endanger him. It was never her intention to kill him, simply steering him in a more suitable direction was far more admirable and less of a bloodied path than what some 'others' had persued so far. To many Hokages had died over the past few years, adding another death to that number wouldn't have done any good.

"How am I supposed to flank something that...well I'll be damned," The ANBU captain chuckled calmly, pressing her hands together while quickly forming a few handsigns. It seemed she had understood at least something of Sousetsu's plans, aiming to make sure that the creature would be occupied with being defensive, so that the other could be on the offensive and take some hits against it. "Kōka Doro Hebi"

From out of the ground, two massive snakes emerged and launched themselves at the creature, which had already been stopped in its tracks by the emerging golem coming from the Hokage's end. The creature seemed quite surprised, but it was agile enough to avoid the incoming snakes, which crashed through a few trees before ending in their tracks, leaving quite some open space in their wake. Disturbed by this though, the creature went on the offensive again, putting its hands together, which no doubt surprised the ANBU captain and probably the Hokage as well. "...Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld...

A surprise as it was, the ground changed into mud, or more correctly a massive swamp, which showed that this creature had more intelligence than Lamya had initially thought, since it was capable of making such an elaborate jutsu. Knowing the signs to be similar to her Black Swamp jutsu, she managed to avoid it by leaping into a tree, but she couldn't stop and look what Sousetsu and his golem would do.

"Given the fact it knows...jutsu," Lamya almost laughed, while standing on a treebranch. "Might I suggest bringing up our A game...or rather our S-game if you will?"

As the fist from the earth golem collided with the opponents, two great snakes emerged from the ANBU Captain's location, dashing towards their common enemy. The 'failed experiment,' pushed off of the golems fist before the snakes could reach their, sidestepping each technique to wander off into the distance, crashing into the surrounding wildlife behind it. With its distance kept with enough room for preparation, the target's hands came together to form hand seals. The Senju's eyes widened slightly as a new jutsu was about to unfold for the two to deal with. Vibrations of the earth that covered a large radius of the area the Leaf shinobi and golem occupied could soon be felt while the soil grew damp with each passing second.

"...Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld..."

Sousetsu leaped onto the golem that derived from the earth beforehand while the area began to sink, or so he thought as his technique was sinking rather than the vast colour of green that resided in the distance. His technique remained firm, unfaltering to the change of environment and ready to clash even as its lower half was soon to submerge, leaving Sousetsu to stand tall on its shoulder. His eyes watched his opponent carefully, refusing to acknowledge any other that could possibly join him in his reign of destruction. His speed was not to be ignored and a steady and calm mind must prepare him for the next assault. His ears peaked once again as a familiar voice echoed from a nearby location, suggesting that their actions should be taken rather seriously before it escalated any further.

He simply glared, his teeth at a grind while his jaw tensed as he monitored every twitch of the muscles the subject contained. Sousetsu sheathed his weapon to lay across his lower back before bringing his hands together to form the snake seal. It was at this point that the swamp was reaching the abdomen of the technique he had already created. With a change in environment, it may have truly affected this technique despite its size. However, a greater technique would always surpass. As the chakra mustered up from within the current Hokage his teeth began to show with its true grit.

" Mokuton: Mokujin no Jutsu!" a bellowing voice rung throughout the area.

From the depths of the swamp emerged a larger avatar to fight by their side. A rather giant creature to dwarf even the earth golem was forming along with a wooden dragon that wrapped itself around the being. With its hand, it lifted the earth golem from the swamp to remain on level ground during their battle while Sousetsu still remained to his previous position of a focused demeanor. The grumbles of both the earth and wooden technique revealed a determined nature between the three that took to the failed experiments primary attention, drawing its power solely on them. It had to. It appeared flanking the creature before them was still a potential strategy in order of achieving victory. The wooden dragon that lingered on the giant soon lunged towards its target while Sousetsu leaped to join it in its offense. With the dragon now carrying the Hokage, its roar could be heard as it charged and attempted its means of attack. With a wide open mouth ready to chomp down on its opponent, the creature leaped and attempted its upwards strike.

"Fūton: Shinkū Taigyoku!"(Wind Release: Great Vacuum Sphere)

The dragon hastily blew back changing direction with such quick precision. The insides of the dragons mouth began to break in various areas, leaving a disfigured face as the sphere of air continued to shred within it. Sousetsu however, had already leaped beforehand and began his own assault with a downwards spiraling slash towards the creature from above. His cloak rippled through the accelerated speed of the air before he felt a blunt force coming into contact with his upper back. The creature had used the Senju as a stepping stone to further his distance in the air, sending the Senju crashing down.

"Lamya!" he ordered for her next attack as he continued his journey down to the earth. Having himself used directly in order for the creature to gain distance in the air left it vulnerable. It could not avoid an attack as its motion was set and with no other object to help it bounce, the next attack was sure to leave some form of impact. The sound of a thud created a small cloud of dust onto the earth as the Senju finally landed. A small crater outlined his body as he the attack seemed to overwhelm him with the sheer brute strength. His teeth clenched as he sat upright before the giant wooden human lifted him to reside upon its head, safe from harms way as the technique would now take his place for the time being. The earthen golem also lingered by his side as it seemed to have made its way there during his short time in the field of battle not moments ago.

Silently, Lamya had to look at how her Hokage handled things, truly showing the caliber expected of someone who carried the name and legacy of all the previous Hokage upon his shoulders, it was such a grand spectacle that even those who stood against him had to admit the grandeur and power of his techniques. It was probably the first time that Lamya had actually seen her superior fight, since she had been delayed at the time that he had been ambushed by that one-armed wench and also because she was not in the right state of mind when he had fought her uncle's associate Hataro. The fact that this man was able to go toe to toe with at least one man who was able to topple an entire village with his army of puppets, was nothing less than admirable and also a warning for what the young woman's future held, for if she was one day going to oppose him, she had to make sure she was strong enough in both body and mind to actually be able to do so.

With widened eyes, she witnessed as the monstrous beast made out of wood dwarfed the Hokage's earlier made golem, pulling the lumbering rock giant out of the mad beast's swamp as if it was but a mere fruit to be plucked. However, it seemed that the mad creature wasn't as impressed as she was, leaping through the air with a feral grace, sending off one of the Futon release's most devastating attacks, effectively damaging the wooden dragon coiled around the massive giant, while even being able to use the hokage as a stepping stone to get high into the sky.

Hearing Sousetsu cry out, calling for Lamya to attack the creature, the young woman tensed her muscles and was ready to jump up to the being, but just as she was about to jump from her rather comfortable position ina large tree, a sudden movement came as a complete surprise for her, when  the creature's abdomen suddenly swelled up, with it making a few handsigns, before pressing upon its belly, firing off a massive bullet of compressed air towards the giant wooden creature, but also more likely the hokage on the ground. ""Wind Release: Drilling Air Bullet"

"Earth release- Grand Mud wall!!"
Not even thinking about wether or not the giant wooden contruct would be able to withstand the blast, Lamya quickly jumped down to the ground, made a few handsigns of her own and created a massive mud wall near the Hokage in the direct path of the air bullet.

The explosion that followed after the bullet had hit the mud wall, was spectacular, enveloping the entire area in an eerie light, before it vanished completely, leaving a small crater and loads of mud scattered around all over the place. During the shockwave of the blast, the ANBU captain had lost sight of the Hokage, though she could still see the massive wooden structure nearby, which meant that the hokage wasn't dead and that he had most likely managed to get to safety.

The being however was roaring in madness atop a tree, either because it thought to have triumphed or because it knew that it had not won yet, Lamya did not know, but she could feel the pressure of the being's chakra, which was so distorted, so densely twisted that it wasn't human at all. A ravenous beast with a power comparable to that of a kage, what was Enaka thinking when he created such a monstrosity?

"That's it, I've had enough of this...always being the second fiddle," The ANBU captain hissed, while her own chakra started surging up in an aura of violent purple and black dancing around her like wildfire. Her hair snapped out of the ribbons which tied and braided it, lengthening considerably into long appendages resembling snaketails, her eyes lost their golden radiance and now were a cold and menacing silver, revealing themselves as the bonds of her mask snapped and it dropped to the ground, uncovering her face. "My Uncle, Hataro, Sousetsu Senju, Chisaki Senju...and even you, all of you are beneath ME!!"

A few handsigns were made, after which the young woman slammed her hands on the ground, which was followed by a loud rumble, when out of the remainders of the swamp, a cloud of dust and dirt formed, with an immense shadow lingering within it. "Sage art- Three headed Serpent God"

A deep hiss emerged from the cloud of dust, followed by a large stream of air cutting through the tree upon which the mad beast had been perching upon, surprising it as such, that it failed to retain its balance and fell down to the ground in a way similar to how the Hokage had fallen down before. Only so it could look up and see Lamya stand upon the central head of an enormous, fifty meter long snake towering above the ground. "If you have some fuel left, Sousetsu...use it now."

Sousetsu now lay atop the giant wooden technique, attempting to compose himself from the earlier assault as he held his left side from the impact that occurred moments ago. His stern expression never left him, just as his vision never left his opponents positioning. The earth golem stood by his side as it continued to support its master, preparing for the next offense that may arrive. Upon further inspection, the creature before them inhaled greatly before expelling a great wind technique, possibly the greatest Sousetsu had come across.

"Wind Release: Drilling Air Bullet."

A highly compressed bullet of air shot from the beings mouth before expanding a great distance. His eyes widened as this attack was aimed directly towards him and his small cell of techniques. Having that much faith in his technique to aim it towards the three could have only meant the technique was formidable to say the least. Instantly, a great wall of earth appeared before their eyes, absorbing the techniques brunt force. As the two collided and great explosion was created with the sounds of destruction, crumbling earth and trees from the area sent crashing down. The explosion continued to expand and judging by the speed, it would soon reach the Hokage within mere seconds. He stood firm just as he had done so before while the giant wooden being reached for the Senju, covering him with its hand, ensuring that the force could not reach him with no small gaps for it to wiggle through. He could hear the crumbling wood, much like the sounds of the earth and trees not moments ago. The vibrations of the hand began to increase in speed as the technique was beginning to grow more hollow by each passing second.

"... all of you are beneath ME!!" a familiar voice had spoken while he remained in captivity of the wooden being. Sousetsu closed his eyes as he began his sage transformation. Usually his nails would have kept growing in a sharp fashion, his hair would grow exponentially and braided itself as it had done so. His face would have began to show colour as scribble of gold etched across his face with a red backdrop to compliment it. But not this time. In their stead, a gold and orange hue painted around his eyes looking like two tomoes, for now, he was a perfect sage. The hand that shielded him from harms embrace opened with pained creaks in the wooden structure, crumbling as it lifted away. He could see his own technique was damaged in various areas, much like the wooden dragons head from the previous attack, but surrounding the giants body with great splinters and broken bark. The earth golem had been rendered apart as it remains still seemed to crumble where they stood.

He turned his head to find a great three headed serpent as his sensory abilities had now taken over his senses. With widened eyes he could also sense Risu, whose chakra now matched his own with similarities. Searching to find her amidst their avatars he finally had done so. Surging purple and black chakra and serpent like hair was all he could see from the distance given between them.

"If you have some fuel left, Sousetsu...use it now." she spoke unwavering.

With a nod in compliance, Sousetsu leaped to the wooden dragon once more, running along its spine as it charged once again towards the creature they had come to slay. His eyes wandered to the giant serpent once more and the sage that stood atop, much like himself in a way, though this was not a time for wondering. He understood that this was the Captain of the ANBU. He could understand the technique but it was the sage part that led to further questioning. His eyes returned to the task at hand. With a fluent motion, his hands came together before two shadow clones appeared with a puff of smoke, running beside him.

"Scatter!" he ordered to his two new allies. The left clone leaped below to stand on the earths soil before forming hand seals to the first offense.

"Suiton: Suiryū Kōbaku!" Instantly, a mass pool of water that would soon shoot up bullets of water, carrying the opponent with them up into the air. Each bullet that hit sent a fierce blunt impact on the area that came into contact no doubt causing bones to shatter with given time. The next clone withdrew his sword as he reached the edge of the wooden dragons head and leaped to meet the failed experiment.

"Suiton: Ōuzu Matoi no Jutsu!" With an upwards slash, a whirlpool of water enveloped his blade that expanded to a great distance and sent the creature further into air with a devastating impact of its own, completely breaking the bones within the being. As it was carried further and further, Sousetsu had already been cast into the air by the dragon further, waiting for the opportune moment to finally finish the opponent once and for all. His eyes revealed what he was, the Azure Beast had revealed himself in battle once more with one unforgiving attack after another. This is where the experiment was to meet his end. He glanced to Risu, revealing his demeanor for her to witness. This was his own power, revealing the reasons for his title.

"Suiton: Konpeki no kemono!" his fist outstretched towards the opponent before it was tapped by his other. With a unique hand seal resembling the tiger seal to follow, a gigantic beast of water formed behind him, seemingly swallowing him in the process as it charged downwards onto the opponent with a speed far greater than many have witnessed. Instantly, the beast came into contact with its destination, rendering the creature apart within mere seconds before it was sent crashing down into the earth, drilling further down as the intense pressure continued its assault.

With nothing much left of the failed experiment but a bloody, limbless and lifeless body, Sousetsu was retrieved by the wooden dragon once more during his travel down to the earths surface once more. His clones reached him with a few leaps before the three made their way to the head of the great avatar. His determined eyes now looking towards Risu and her own great avatar that she rested upon.

"We are done here..."

The two clones disappeared with another puff of smoke while the wooden giant began to reform into the earth as he leaped back into the forest once more to return to his duties as Hokage once more. Suddenly, he felt overwhelmed. Staying with Risu would have only led him to further suspect her with the abilities she had revealed this day. 'Just how much time do I have?'

"We are done here..." Was all the hokage said after having rendered the beast limbless and apparently lifeless, vanishing into the woods while his techniques vanished as well. It was slightly disturbing for the ANBU captain to see her so-called superior turn his back on everything so easily, as if he didn't care about everything else that was transpiring. In a way it looked like he felt threatened or somehow afraid, but Lamya just shook off that thought for now, sliding down her own massive construct, dispelling it soon afterwards.

Slowly, she walked towards the bloodied and battered being laying down on the ground like some kind of broken rag doll. For a moment, she stopped right next to it, looking at it calmly, trying to figure out who or what this person was before it had been turned into this...thing.

"Ugh..." The thing suddenly coughed up blood, spats of it reaching up to Lamya's boots, surprising her in the process. Backing off a bit, she could see that the 'thing' was still breathing, even if it was just hardly, it was still somehow alive. "Hostiles hurt me...can't feel legs...arms. What have hostiles done, what have hostiles done??"

Disgusted by the low level of intelligence the 'thing' was showing, the ANBU captain wanted to walk away and leave the 'thing' to rot and die in its own filth, but her curiosity got the better of her, almost forcing her to bend through her legs and grab the cracked mask which was concealing the identity of the creature. With a swift pull, she tore off the mask and her eyelids spread open completely when she saw what was underneath the mask. The face belonged to what used to be a young man of certainly no more than her own age, a young man in his prime had been experimented on and tortured into becoming something like this.

It scared her to see the truth behind her uncle's research, his devotion towards what he desired was at the same time admirable as well as gruesome. Was this what she wanted, was this what she was going to have to do if she desired to outstrip the bonds of this world?

The creature coughed up blood again and seemingly started to cry in pain, something which irked the Orochi Lady in her train of thought, making her decision what to do with the experiment quite easy, as she stretched out her arm, giving a firm and direct jab to the creature's esophagus, stabbing the life out of it in a single fell swoop.

"This is ridiculous," Lamya sighed, while she dispelled her sageform, wandered over the place to look for her mask and when she found it stuck in some dirt near a tree, she put it on again. With a sigh, she jumped into the tree and looked at the destruction wrought onto the place by her and the hokage."I need to have a word with Him...I have to see what I can do, what he can do for me."
