"Wh... Where.... am..... i...."

an unconscious boy murmured to himself as he tried to move. He felt as though he had been asleep for years, just floating in an endless existence of nothing. He felt the ever so familiar lack of touch, except everywhere else while he was asleep, and now, he could feel what is occurring inside his body. He could feel his feelings return when before he seemingly was emotionless, thoughts swarming back into his mind as his brain began working fully once more, making him slowly and surely feel more awake by the second. He could hear the occasional chirping of birds and the sounds of what seemed to be cicadas a little ways away, and he can smell the odd smell of medicine all around him.

His mouth was as dry as bone, his throat even worse. Speech would be impossible at the moment thanks to this and the feeling of a strong thirst would overtake his thoughts. 'Drink.. Drink... Drink...' He thought over and over again as his eyes would slowly open up. His eyelids felt like strong, heavy weights pushing together as though they were testing his strength and endurance, though eventually he prevailed, only to quickly close them shut tightly once more, the impacts of light proving to pierce too deeply into his eyes, blinding them and leaving behind a strong, stinging sensation.

'Drink... Drink... Drink...' His thoughts were shrieking at him once more. It seems that the unconscious boy wouldn't be able to get any rest until he found a liquid of some sort to drink. Hopefully one was nearby, as he doesn't even know where he is yet and thus doesn't know if he's flat out of luck or not. Once more he worked against the heavy weights that were his eyelids, though this time taking a much, much slower approach. The stinging increased, of course, but this way he would be able to slowly let a little more light in until he could open his eyes entirely, which in turn would allow him the ability to see.

It took him a few minutes of struggle, but finally he had succeeded. The entire time he hadn't dared move his body, as he felt nothing over him nor around him. It was as though he was still floating in that dark abyss that was his mind except this time, he could see the things around him. It was a small room that had consisted of light colors. The floor was tiled while the walls were bare save for a clock that had been ticking at the same exact pace the entire time the boy had been awake. The boy could see he was laying in a bed of sorts with sheets and a blanket covering his body. After using his hands to push the coverings away, he could see that his own attire was a plain, light grey shirt with pants of the same color. It was a rather bland and boring, but it's better than nothing, the boy guessed.

Looking around some more, his eyes would lock onto a nearby stand. Atop this stand would be a lamp, a small book, and a glass of water that could be half full or half empty for all the boy cares. Right now though his left hand immediately shot out, grasping tightly onto the glass as he ripped it off of the stand and in front of his lips, where he leaned his head backwards, lifting the bottom of the glass up as he began downing the entire thing. At first he began to cough as the cool liquids touched his dry throat, creating a small mess, but soon enough he would be able to work the liquid down, thus allowing him to speak a lot more easily than before and also allowing him to think more clearly than before as well.

After letting out a satisfied sigh, the boy would place the now empty glass back onto the stand. 'Okay.. now to get up...' He thought to himself once more as he worked his way into a sitting position, bones cracking all the while. Soon enough, he was now sitting up and could see the small , narrow room entirely. Looking out the window, it was still daytime. Seemingly according to the clock it was around noon but the boy himself felt as though it was earlier than that. His entire body actually felt like dead weight still, as though he had woken up far earlier than before. It would be an understatement to say that the boy still wished to be asleep. While asleep he was weightless, free, peaceful. Now though he knew he had to wake up as he felt as though if he remained where he was, he would never get up again, and so he adjusted his body so his feet would slightly hover above the ground. He was ready.

Muscles twitched. A biological mechanism made of different things working together in harmony in order to support the weight of the living creature itself. The skin under feet being flattened as the feet themselves fell upon the cold tiles that was the floor. The nerves wouldn't work, thus allowing Hideki to not care about how the floor felt. All the mattered was actually standing up. The boy began placing weight down as he began standing up. His muscles tightening, unused to the work they have been scarce having for the past while. They had to get used to it again though. For the young Uzumaki’s sake he must stand! He can’t waste any more time cooped up in the hospital, just waiting for death to come knock on his door. His determination to improve outmatched his wish to just be dead. He was being an emo about things lately, just going with the flow and waiting to just fail and fall once more. He had no hope and little dreams. He had to stop.

Today would mark a day which Hideki would change his ways. He no longer wished to just prove to everyone how useless someone that was born with an illness like himself truly is. He was determined to become stronger, to become more skilled, to not just sit around and wait for his own self-pity to destroy him. To become a Kage or anything of the sort is a fool’s dream for luckier fools than he, but to improve and to become a Shinobi powerful enough to protect those he cared about. More weight would be added onto the feet as the buttocks left the bed. The boy struggled under wobbling legs to stand up fully. He had to push upwards with his left hand and he had to use his eyes to see what was occurring below in order to make up for his lack of feeling. More and more weight added, less and less his body would be bent, higher and higher he would rise. It wouldn’t be long until he rose all the way up. His back would be straight and confidence would sweep through his body. He felt like Icarus when he flew over the Labyrinth and over the waters, rising higher and higher. And just like Icarus..

He fell, too.

His body would collide with the ground in a solid thump. The left side of his face lying against the tiles as he was a crumpled mess. He was back at stage on- no, he was farther behind than stage one. At stage one he was on the bed, sitting. Now, he is on the floor, a crumpled up mess. He wanted to just stop trying and just try to return to his bed. He couldn’t though. He came to the decision of beginning to change. He couldn’t give up now! The palms of both of his hands would be pushed against the floor as the young Uzumaki held upon his face a look of determination. His head would raise up first, his body followed. His waist lifted upwards as his left leg bent and moved underneath it. His right leg would enter a crouched position and the biological mechanism that was his own body would be pushed to work once more. His body forced itself into standing up, though this time his knees didn’t buckle. They didn’t give way nor did they give up. They were working, he was working, he was standing.

Triumph was an odd thing. While standing up should be a very, very simple task Hideki still felt as much triumph from standing up after so long as one would have felt after succeeding in a difficult mission. He could feel the confidence within him while he physically felt nothing whatsoever. He smiled a smirk of success and confidence. The next step would be to take a  step, and with his right foot a step he took. Another step would come after that and then another after that. Baby steps really that would spread out and increase in speed until one would see him actually walk. It wouldn’t be long until he reached the doorway and opened the door, walking out of his room confidently. As he walked down the halls, receiving odd looks from passerby medical specialists though not stopped quite yet, Hideki couldn’t help but let his newfound confidence rush through him. His smirk became a smile and a smile became a grin. Excited he would be, stoked really. The hype he felt was one which was rarely felt and the embers within his body became a raging fire. Before he knew it he wasn’t walking, he was running. Feet slamming against the tiles as he continued to run. Laughter erupting as he ran throughout the halls, avoiding the other living beings within them as he continued running. It wouldn’t be any longer before he reached the entryway into the hospital, and after that he would be on the street, standing there, looking all around him. He knew what would be best for himself at that moment, and so he would make his way towards the training grounds, not even caring about picking up his equipment or anything else from the hospital quite yet.

Hideki fell over from the pain of a sudden heart attack.

Ooc: Hideki's dead. Only brought him back for ooc reasons. Honestly he should have died a long time ago due to being such a pathetic and broken character.
