Swaying from side to side, threatening to betray the feet that stepped across. The Mocking Bridge was a feared means of getting to the Eclipse District. An area of Iwagakure that was marked by its location robbing the territory of sunlight. Only recently had laterns, lights, and other lighting fixtures been implemented. However, a town that dwells in darkness tends to accrue a certain reputation. One that is of a negative connotation moreso than not. That being said, the Eclipse District was often home to a lot of criminal activity. Surprise, surprise, a harbor of violence likes to destroy lighting fixtures. Even with the attempts of technology attempting to defy the town's namesake, the residents refused, and did everything possible to stay out of the spotlight.

The world wouldn't feel right if Kurai, the adventure seeker wasn't standing at the edge of the bridge, preparing himself to cross. Even Kurai, the future writer of the most epic novel ever, after all this time in Iwagakure, had not dared to step foot on the Mocking Bridge. The cross led to a steep drop that led to a legit abyss. An extremely large pit in the earth, giving home to many people. The question was, what kind of people. Most talk or facts that swirled around pertaining to the Eclipse District was mere rumor, as not many had any reason to check the place out for themselves. His charcoal eyes pulled desperately to look over the stretch of the bridge to see what the abyssal Eclipse District held, but of course, he could not satisfy his eyes from his current position, he would have to cross in order to calm them. A daunting 50 meters stood in the way of him laying eyes on the shrouded region. Kurai looked back into the rippling air, watching as the heat radiated off the earth.

What would he find? Or would something find him? Was there a spark of light in the mysterious town? Or was there only despair in those depths?

Fūten

Fūten

His father, having been both the main enforcer of the law, and Iwagakure's worst criminal, was rooted somewhere still in the great city. Somewhere hiding from the reaches of a potentially looming fate of death at the hands of his now freed son, Fūten. Whether it was wise or not at his current level of power, Fūten would make a trip to the deepest, darkest reaches of Iwagakure in order to seek out his scumbag of a father.

As Fūten entered the zone known only as the Eclipse District, he found near it's beginning a small lantern, partially broken, but functional to a minimal degree. He picked it up and lit it with a small surge of Katon chakra. The place was a hub for criminal activity, and had a reputation with the citizens of Iwa for being a place of supernatural tendencies. Fūten had no belief in such foolish things, and had no fear aside from possibly gripping in the darkness as he ushered himself through the narrowing corridors of the spottily illuminated city of the damned.

Like a detective, Fūten would watch from a bench, noticing a group of what appeared as gang members which held more common factors with a large street gang which was well known in Iwa at this point. What leads could Fūten possibly trace here?

.....The Eclipse District, the center point of iwa's crime divisions and just a bad place to be. Today takumi had been sent to take out a few of the more troubling villains that lie within iwa's soft underbelly. Being a ANBU Black Ops operative he was used to the shadows but today he was not in the district as the Captain of the Black ops, but as Takumi Senju Jounin of iwagakure. He walked down the dark road with his eye scope set to infra red. Even in the darkest shadows no criminal could escape his sight. He walked past many shady businesses and dark looking characters but none of which where rooted deep enough in the darkness that they needed extermination....At least not yet.

As takumi turned a corner he saw his student Futen by a gang of miscreants, he had no idea what Futen was doing in a place like the eclipse district but it must not have been good. After all this is not a place where you just take a walk when you feel the need to get some fresh air. No if Futen was here he had a reason. Takumi quickly jumped on top the building over looking his student and began to listen.

Kurai had finally built up the gall to enter the infamous city... or pit if you will. That bridge that was to usher Kurai in the depths of evil. A softest of gust would send the bridge swaying near uncontrollably. For Kurai's sake there was a rope along the bridge that he was able to grip. At this current time, it would appear to be the only thing saving the shinobi from falling to his sure demise. Once the wind settled, the shinobi was able to creep forward, not quite confident in the sturdiness of the plywood that lied beneath him. Every step, every fluctuation, caused Kurai to panic quietly. He calmed the internal storm though, knowing that allowing the fear to get the best of him would only increase his chances of failure. There was no turning back.

Several minutes elapsed before Kurai finally fell over the threshold that would lead downward into the Eclipse District. Not knowing what he would encounter, Kurai was naturally leaning on the side of caution, and would work to be as perceptive and aware as possible. The dimness and gloom of the district evoked a certain uneasiness in Kurai's stomach, and feeling that he relished. Being in the thick of danger and tasting his own fear gave birth to his need for the sensation. His first decision to keep himself as safe as possible while still experiencing the district, was to get to higher ground. The buildings that were in the crime capital were ratty but they had decent enough vantage points and ease of maneuverability.

Perched atop one of the medium height buildings, Kurai looked out. He saw men and women running the streets cackling as the whirled dead animals above their heads... Kurai's eyes shifted to another region, right below him. There he saw several people, they seemed rather harmless but the next sight caused Kurai to back up. He saw... Futen nearby. As Kurai reeled back by the shock of a familiar face, he hear a snap. Right as he heard the snap he saw a figure appear in front of him, the person must have jumped from below. Just as the stranger reached the top, Kurai had fell through a soft spot on the roof. A rather muffled thud resounded as Kurai hit a padded surface. It was then where he began to hear talking coming from outside.
