Ah, boring, long days. The Tsukino was... well, beyond bored honestly. He'd done his entire to do list by 9am, and had nothing else for the day. Or the week, really. Damn empty schedule. If he could get his squad together more often, he'd have more to do; but dang Genin are busy as heck. Even that Chuunin guy, the Akako; busy, gone all the time. Oh well. He could entertain himself watching the idiots get to close to the lightning rods. Idiot academy kids, even more retarded civilians. So much amusement.

The Tsukino shrugged some, settling his newest blade better across his back. He was still adjusting the straps every so often so that Caladbolg sat right; but with his thick, multilayered clothing, it would shift and catch his hakama and trip him up a bit. Might be time to set to the lade a bit higher, so that the barbs aren't catching as much fabric. Once it was settled, he found a small outcropping of rocks; one of the few in the area that wasn't magnetized by the ionized air, nor a point of attraction for the lightning bolts peppering the area; using it like a chair of sorts. Good look out point; even with his colorful clothing and bright blue blade. Wait for someone, something, to come by and give him something to do, yep.

Skye wandered off into Kumo and tried to get used to his new surroundings. It was definitely a change of scenery and felt a lot different from Suna. He continued to walk around and see where he would end up. Eventually he found his way to an open area. Unknown to him, there was a man nearby. Skye sighed and turned to walk a different direction, but stopped when he got sight of Raijin. "Oh... Uh... Sorry. I didn't think anyone was over here." He gave a nervous smile as he put one arm up to scratch the back of his head. "I guess I'll just... go that way... now..." Skye wasn't intimidated by this person, more like he didn't want to meet anyone in this new place just yet.

Raijin

D-rank
Well, that got his attention. This guy was... new. Raijin had traveled enough in his life to have half an idea where this guy was from; and it was definitely not Kumokagure. This guy... Suna, maybe? Weird; he was wearing Kumo styled clothing; but he was obviously oblivious to where he was. This time of day, the storm's fury was concentrated more towards the center of the grounds; but it was starting to spread outwards; as it did every day. He should... probably say something to the foreigner; something to prevent an international incident. Or not. Raijin didn't have anything to worry about. He was a special Jounin, sure; and that made him one of the more... responsible (hah!) people around; but these where also his clan lands... so he was exempt from much blame if the guy did anything stupid on his own.

"You'd be amazed how many 'a us are around, eh. You're on Tsukino clan lands, yanno. Whole group 'a us, floatin' around." There was an unspoken 'literally' left off the end of his sentence. He had a cousin attempting to turn a seal into a way to float. Bloody moron; his way of 'practicing' was forming a wind imbued seal under his feet and try to walk off a cliff. The mental image pulled a giggle out of the colorful male; likely making him seem somewhat deranged. Not insane, not in a bad way. he was batshit; but he was also the in control kind of batshit. "You're not normal here, eh?" Translation: You're not from Kumo, right?

Skye stopped himself from walking away and tilted his head when the man spoke. "Uh... No, I'm not really from here... My clan got here from Suna a few hours ago." He crossed his arms and mentally decided to stay where he was until forced or asked to leave. As Skye stood there, his eyes drifted slightly to get a better look at the sword on the man's back. He quickly snapped his head back once he had an eyeful. It only took him a few seconds of studying Raijin to realize that this man was a higher rank of ninja than him. Then again, Skye was still technically not a ninja since he is new to Kumo. "I can leave if I'm interrupting anything."

Raijin

D-rank
"Interrupting? Nah, nothing doing." Leaning back against the rocks, the male shifted until he was comfortable; a seemingly impossible feat given the large blade across his back. However, the way the rocks where arranged gave him a groove to set the blade in, and negated any poking or uncomfortable prods that could have come from his sword. "Suna eh, thought so. With skin that tanned-pale and the accent... yeah. Had to be a desert dweller of some type." Migrants... huh. Not a common thing these days; most villages preferred non-natives stayed in their own lands for the most part. Oh well, if the Raikage was allowing it, he couldn't say much. "So you just wandering around, or you got a reason to be out this way? Guessing no one told you this place is dangerous as all get out, ah?"

Skye

Skye laughed to himself for a few seconds. "I actually have no clue where I am or where I'm going. This place is nothing like Suna and it's probably going to take me forever to figure out the layout." He walked closer to the man and found a sturdy rock to sit on. "And I still don't know why my dad forced us to come here... I think it's because of training and stuff... It's always about training with him..." Skye let out a silent sigh and looked up at a few misty spots in the air above him. "Oh! My name is Skye by the way. Thought it might be good to tell people that now that I'm going to stay here in Kumo..."

Raijin

Raijin

D-rank
Skye eh? Well, if he could learn to erase that accent and let his skin properly tan, he could pass for a native eventually. "Raijin. Raijin Tsukino. You might want to be careful what you touch here." He pointed off towards the myriad of tall rocks and somewhat melted looking steel rods littering the scorched area. "Touch one of those and you're dead, kid. These are the Lightning Grounds." Pointing upwards now, "In a few minutes the clouds will roll in and you're understand why we call this place that. Perpetual storm rages about... 3 miles that way." He waved vaguely to the east, towards the center of the grounds. "Place is one giant natural power plant, eh. S'why my clan lives here; we're the local Lightning Sages and all that jazz."

Skye looked up at the cloud formation and hopped up off the rock. It didn't take him long to realize that he was in a pretty dangerous place. "Will that eventually be over here?" He pointed at the ground below him somewhat quickly. "And if so... will it effect me...?" He was slowly backing up to get a better look at the clouds. A bit of his hair was standing on end. It looked as if he was now fully aware of where he was.

Smirking some, he tilted his head some; which allowed his golden eyes to catch some of the last of the direct sunlight the area would see for the rest of the day; until the clouds began to retreat before dawn. This had his eyes shimmering light liquid gold, something that unsettled most people. "Oh, the air is fine. Ground too, if you can avoid the shaking and cracking. It's the lightning ya gotta worry about. This far out? Nah, no rain, only a mild breeze with the occasional hurricane level gusts. Dodging the bolts from hell is all ya gotta worry about."

The more the air ionized, the stronger the distant smell of ozone became, the more the male seemed to relax into the rocks. Anywhere else, it would be like Raijin was settling to an overstuffed chair or something; getting comfortable for a long haul. "Me? Eh, I don't worry here. I'm a walking ground, really. Lightning hits me, I hit it back." His smirk grew, giving him a slightly manic look now, "I can take these bolts and just giggles. Feels like a tickle, so long as I'm not touching one of those monstrosities. Fackers screw with my flow, yeah. Can't redirect properly, ends up burning me pretty bad."

He lifted up his shoeless feet, showing the bandages wrapped snuggly around them. Said bandages where blackened and dirty from the bare earth, but given the thickness they where perfectly clean at flesh level. "Saved another foreigner a day or two back; something like that. Don't have a great sense of days passing, yeah. Cracked my other blades, s'why I only have this beauty with me right now. Poor ol' granddaddy 's fixin' my Brotherhood for me, again. Said he'd make sure it doesn't break again; seems like I need to work on my smithing skills some more."

He was suddenly shaking his head a bit like a dog would; seeming to snap outta something. His gaze cleared, the male looking much less... insane now. "Anyway, It's fairly dangerous to stick around too long; but this far out the strikes are fairly far between, and easy enough to avoid."

Skye

D-rank
Skye looked up at the cloud and sat back down on the rock that he was previously with. "You can redirect lightning...? How? Because all I still can't do much with mine..." He held up one hand and struggled somewhat to show a slight spark of lightning in his palm. "Yup... that's all I have... I'm a lot better with illusions and mind traps..." He put his hand down and sighed once more. "I know this is kind of random and my dad might get furious... but could you maybe... show me how to do something with lightning...?" His voice shook very slightly as he talked.

"Told ya before. Tsukino are lightning sages; whole clan is fixated by it. We're born on these grounds in the embrace of the perpetual storm. My entire body is one giant conductor of electricity." The male leaned forward slightly, just enough for him to reach up, grip the handle of his blade, and pull it free of his back. He swung it around his shoulder before holding it pointed upwards and away; towards the building cloud bank. It took only moment for a crackle to fill the air, and small arcs of electricity to begin to leap across the face of the blade. "You might want to duck and cover your ears."

With a smirk, he lifted his free arm and pointed away from the younger, towards one of the nearby rods. It was a small bolt; weak from the distance; but it was pure lightning, plain and simple. It struck the tip of his blade, surging down and into the seal on Caladbolg's base before arcing into his hand and flowing into his chakra network. From there, it was a simple matter of redirecting the chakra from his heart and into his other arm, where a simple flick of his fingers sent the energy into the ground point. His hair was barely standing on end when the last of the energy faded; although the enamel of the blade was cracked and bubbling some. Off well; it was time to touch it up anyway. Caladbolg was lower quickly, tip shoved into the earth so that the seal could rid itself of excess charge before it shattered. "See?~"

Skye had ducked behind the rock that he was sitting on and popped his head out when the lightning had finished. "Whoa... That was awesome! How did you do that?!" He sounded like he was incredibly impressed with the abilities of Raijin. After a few seconds, Skye hopped out from his cover and walked up to Raijin. He tilted his head slightly and looked at his sword. "Yikes...! Guessing that would do some damage to a person..." Skye gave a wide and friendly grin after he stated his odd compliment.

"No shit. Still burned from last time. Only last time I was touching one of those damn lightning rods. Dirties the energy; makes it harder to work with. S'why it burned; where as this time it was easy as breathing." He tapped a nail against the base of his blade, causing the dry and cracked enamel to fall away; revealing the silver of the blade beneath. "Either way, s'not hard to redirect lightning. Just gotta know how. However, I doubt anyone but a Tsukino, or maybe the Raikage, could do it like that. Raiton bolt? Easy. True Lightning? Different story."

Shifting again, he resettled; making no move to retrieve his blade. If anyone but him or a blood relative touched that blade; well... burned human flesh smelled like crap. "Lesse... guessing you're not a sealer like I am; and I don't see the calluses of a swordsmen... Hmmm... Tricks and flashy, that's your type then? Genjutsu and Ninjutsu?" He was enough of a student to recognize the signs of the specialties outside his own. "My clan's all sealers. We use Fuuinjutsu and all that. Mix of other stuff too; mostly Ninjutsu or the like. Few medics, the occasional other stuff. Work with swords myself." He clicked the same nail as before against the seal on Caladbolg's blade. "Clan seal, and the source of our Fuuinjutsu. Dragon and the Moon, yep. They used to calls us the clan of the Lightning Dragons, long ago. Now a days? We're just ninja like everyone else. Still call ourselves Sages; but that doesn't mean much in this age. If ya don't have Senjutsu, yer not really a sage and all that bull."

Slipping back on topic after that bit of rambling, "But yeah. Not all that sure I could teach you much, really. Best I can do is supervise, make sure ya didn't hurt yourself. You need something trained to do what you're learning; not some nutter like me that's only special in name and does weird things that makes people go bonkers."

Skye stared at the sword and went over to it. He wouldn't touch it since it wasn't his and the fact that it just had lightning shot out of it. "Huh..." After he was finished inspecting, he turned back to Raijin. Skye's grin faded until it became a small smile. "Alright then, I guess I can find someone who's more used to... whatever..." He went up to the man and put one hand out. "It was nice to meet you Raijin. I suppose I'll say goodbye for now and get lost in the village for a bit." He closed his eyes and continued to smile. "It was nice to meet you."

Shrugging some, the elder looked toward the extended hand and gave a lopsided grin. "I'd shake, but it wouldn't end well. At the moment there's enough electricity left in my body to send you into cardiac arrest from just a touch. Smart not to touch the sword. You'd have lost the hand that did.~"

Raijin leaned away from the hand, shifting into a stretch, "If you head west, you'll clear the danger zone. Stick where the ground doesn't look glassy and you'll be safe."

Skye pulled his hand back and nodded once. "Guess I'll see you around then. Oh, and feel free to check out my clan. They might be a bit cold at first, but they're nice people." He walked off in the way that Raijin had told him and waved goodbye once he was a good distance away. Avoiding the areas like Raijin had said, he made his way into the village and continued to wander around. He would later be caught by his father and taken back to where the rest of his clan was staying.
