So in general, throughout my time here, I have made a fool of myself. Bickering and arguing far more than I do in reality. Who knows why, or what possesses me to do so. I've tried to stop, I've tried to get characters going, but I've made a reputation for myself that seems inescapable at this point.

In short, I'm leaving this one to the community. I'm pretty sure the voting is anonymous. Tell me if you'd prefer I left here, and if popular opinion is yes, I will.

If not, don't just vote no. I want to know what I need to change. What needs to happen for me to be "alright" with you, each of you as a person.

This is Roy, by the way, in case you didn't know.

You dont have to leave, that's highly unnecessary. I would even say you're not bad at all, as I see having discussions as a part of life.

However:

I have come to see that you regularly, if not almost always disregard other people's opinions even going so far as to decide upon yourself that there is only one truth, namely yours. That, Roy...is not the right way to have a discussion and it is just THAT which gets people frustrated over you in the end.

If you would actually consider other people's arguments and opinions in discussions, people wouldn't simply drop the subject or tell you to shut up, because when a discussion is done properly, with arguments, understanding of other opinions and accepting them, roughly said, when a discussion is civilized, it will be more fun and not a strain or a hassle.

That.s what I wanted to say XD

Here's my take: I feel like; with the mention of the poll, this dramatic topic, I doubt you'd leave if a big majority voted yes. Why; you're narcissistic - and you currently feel like your reputation is in danger, alas you victimize yourself to save face. It won't work on me, maybe on others. This is a really poor attitude to have and it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

I will be leaving if the vote is yes, and you should really check your ability to analyze, because you're wrong.

LOL, try telling that to the Staff~ XD

Roy, you don't have to leave, everyone has their off points, but giving up and leaving rather than addressing the issue just means that things will continue. What will you do? Go to another site? begin the cycle again? Then leave? Rinse, lather repeat.

You have a good community of people here who are understanding, it might just be a matter of asking someone to reel you in if you go too far. Rather than making yourself upset because people aren't liking you as much as you would like.

Your rep isn't stained so far that you can't come back from it.

Leaving is a bit of a cop out imho. So do what you want, but, just running away from an issue is what will 'really' lose you points.

Nice topic title, Mr. Highway's Thinking About the End is probably one of my fave ADTR songs.

Anyway, I've heard lots of things that you've done that have earned the dislike of many members, most of which I wasn't present for. The few things that I have been around in the CB to see you do haven't been all that terrible, although that one time with Dameon and you arguing was somewhat unsavory. Basically, I don't think you should leave, but be considerate of other people and don't be as argumentative.

Well Michael, i didn't just up and leave for that exact reason. I want people to tell me what they want from me. What I need to do to be whatever it is that I should be. They also have the option to say "just go; we don't want you here" and if that's what the community chooses, then I'll be gone and it wasn't all my own choice. I at least made an effort.

Do whatever you want to do, but if you really want to know what about you people dislike, it is behavior like this.

Obviously the majority of people aren't going to vote yes and send you off because they are nice people. This is overly dramatic and borders on attention whoring, which seems to be relatively common with you. Coming into chat box and whining about how no one wants to rp with you to gain sympathy, coming in talking about your drinking, etc. The chat box isn't your personal platform for venting your feelings and you would be better off getting things off of your chest over pms or skype with your friends.

You don't want to leave. I doubt very many people want to force you out, even with your behavior. We don't like pushing people out of our community. But yes, you are a narcissist. Whenever there is a dissenting opinion from yours I've see you do nothing but anchor yourself into your position and defend your argument even when it's wrong. This isn't an entirely uncommon thing. Everyone is guilty of it from time to time, including myself, but there comes a point when that just piles on top of your generally negative attitude about things and it makes other people uncomfortable, rubbing them the wrong way at best. These are entirely correctable behavioral flaws, but you need to do more than just acknowledge them.

Hey Roy,
First off, whether you leave or not should be solely decided by yourself.
Why did you start this thread? To blame your potential leaving on all people who voted "yes"? In hopes the majority will beg you to stay?
I believe exactly that is behaviour which annoys others and which makes you, as you said, look like a fool. In my eyes, this is also your biggest fault.

So best advice I can think of: Stop craving attention! :)
I cannot say for sure why you do it. The two most plausible reasons would probably be: 1) You lack self confidence. 2) You have too much of it; in other words, you think you're a really, really awesome guy whom other people should pay attention to.
Answer that for yourself. And then you will reach the root of the problem and can start searching for solutions.
Like, either build up your self-esteem (you don't need others to comment on everything you do, thus no need to overtext them in the chatbox for example ;D) or become more considerate of the people around you (don't argue just for the fun of defending your opinion, it might upset others).

Yup, that's my piece of advice. I hope it helps you to come to terms with yourself.
All the best,
Sandra
